Nourishment for Sheep
by Richard Warmack

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be EVIL, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!" - Matt.6:19-23

Christ's "Sermon On The Mount" has been used by many to "bind heavy burdens and grievous to be born, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers."(Matt.23:4) The natural, unregenerate mind cannot conceive, and therefore cannot understand or believe Christ's words in Matt.6:19-23, and is absolutely clueless when it comes to the "light of the body is the eye" being "single", or the meaning of His words, "if thine eye be EVIL." The word translated "evil" in the original language means "full of labors, annoyances, or hardships." Christ said, "Come unto me all ye that LABOR and are heavy-laden, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST."(Matt.11:28) I could care less what "GOATS" do with that which is the rich, full, comforting nourishment of the "SHEEP"!
