Wonder of Grace!
Chapter 8
Justification

I have written many times here on this blog about our justification and I never tire of studying about it. I believe we continue to learn truths all the days that we are here, never arriving at the totality of the truth until we go home. I imagine we will spend eternity learning about the Truth of our God, learning in person, I can’t begin to fathom it….eye hath not seen, nor ear heard!

“Justification is a legal or forensic term and is used in Scripture to denote the acceptance (and anything pertaining to it) of any one as righteous in the sight of God.”

“Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”
 – Romans 3:24

It is in Christ that God revealed Himself as the God Who justifies the ungodly and that while we were yet sinners and it is paramount to remember that it has nothing to do with our works or any righteousness we might think that we have. We have none, remember.

“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags” – Isa 64:6

In my reading, not only of this book but in others as well I have found that there are many different thoughts as to when God views His own as righteous. I know that God loved me before the foundation of the world when He elected me IN CHRIST, the scriptures attest to that.

“Blessed by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly place in Christ……………
According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love:
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved.”
 – Ephesians 1:3-6

I am accepted in the beloved, however at the same time, I know that BY NATURE I am just as the reprobate, deserving of God’s wrath, a vile sinner and I know that before regeneration I was dead in my trespasses and sins (Eph 2:1), I take that seriously. I also know that the scripture tells me that I have been blessed with all spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

HH says this: “Before God His people are justified from eternity; and He beholds them forever as perfectly righteous in Christ, and as such blesses them. Moreover, this sentence of justification, our righteousness in Christ before God, was realized in the cross and resurrection of our Lord. And it is also true before the consciousness of the believer that by faith he first takes hold of this righteousness of Christ, the forgiveness of sins”

So I am putting on hold for a time the remainder of this book and going to do a bit of study and reading on this subject as I recognize that, as with any doctrine, there are extremes to both ends, and yet I know I am holding on to the eternal love of our Abba Father towards His children in Christ for He has loved us with an everlasting love and with lovingkindness has drawn us. (Jer 21. 3)
