A belated kudos from a Gillite & a "proud" Cards fan since '46
  2. Re: An examination of Don Fortner on Christ being made Sin - Compared to Rushton

I think I am more optomistic: with God all things -according to his will- are possible.
For like kids I dare to pray every day, for a list I have of those families I know or know of, thinking of the...
  3. Re: An examination of Don Fortner on Christ being made Sin - Compared to Rushton

Yes many: Read Ella's "Law & Gospel in the Theology of Andrew Fuller". Also Ella's "James Hervey Preacher of Righteousness". & look up Wesley's "Imputed Nonsense" quote on imputed righteousness in...
  4. Re: Acts 17:30 and Matthew 11:21 - John Brine and Others [on duty-faith]

If you've not read it already I highly recommend "Law & Gospel, the Theology of Andrew Fuller" by Geo. Ella
  5. Re: An examination of Don Fortner on Christ being made Sin - Compared to Rushton

Lust is sin. He took all my sins, lust & all, to himself; he did not sin "on his own".
  6. Re: An examination of Don Fortner on Christ being made Sin - Compared to Rushton

I have read Fortner, I am in complete agreement with him. Jesus could never have cried "My God, My God ..." w/o bearing my sin. Need I say "actual sin"? If so I say it.

    Re: Flu shot

    Ditto:

I have not had flu shots in the last 2 or 3 years; but this year my Mom would have been happy: I have washed my hands more times in one month than in the 18 years at home with her.

I just love the sound of that phrase: come quickly Lord Jesus.

    Re: William Huntington

    Geo. Ella exposes Murray.
Banner of Truth has in the past but no longer publishes Pink
See "Why I am not a Calvinist". I heard the author(s) interviewed on Pilgrim Radio a couple of years ago. It...

    Re: William Huntington

I have read it also & also others by Ellis: about Fuller & Gill & Hervey & "Common Grace". Ellis is right on.

I highly recommend "Law & Gospel in The Theology of Andrew Fuller". He tells the...
  12. Poll: Re: Is Evolutionism the Fruit of Autonomous Man?

    Milt, Bob

At this late date I say EXACTLY: plus if I am a robot I have no sensory impressions that I am; I know only by grace that I am & a live in the hope that I am.

    I am working my way...
  13. Poll: Re: Is Evolutionism the Fruit of Autonomous Man?

I would like to add step 0:

    0. Start out as an 'evangelical' minister with the assumption of God's universal love, that coupled with having never thought through, for whatever reason,...
  14. Poll: Re: Is Evolutionism the Fruit of Autonomous Man?

I do not myself: so I will study the above replies. Frankly I was using this issue to express my take on how "free-will" exits in the minds of the vast majority of at least latter day (today's)...
  15. Poll: Re: Is Evolutionism the Fruit of Autonomous Man?

I do not know how to respond but I will give it a try.

I reject "free-will" & thought that was as clear to you as it is to me.

I posited that those Christians, at least today's, who claim...
  16. Poll: Re: Is Evolutionism the Fruit of Autonomous Man?

I voted no connection on the basis of my take on the meaning of "free will philosophy".

Today, as opposed to yesteryear (?), I hold that "free-will" has been invented to get God off the hook for...

    Re: Warning Passages

Pink made the case at least for me that he was speaking to Christians during the period of transition from the old to the new who were being persecuted & thereby tempted to return to the old. Also...

    Re: Warning Passages

I spent a year in Pink's Exposition of Hebrews; I'll go with him. Also I heard a series of tapes many years ago on Hebrews (I gave the tapes away - shame on me), that made the case to my...

Poll: Re: Is debating doctrines is profitless?

Re: law. Seems to me this is just another way of saying God cannot go against his nature: which is true on the face of it. Truly cannot!

The scorpion could not help but sting the fox, the...
  21. Re: Grudem's Letter to Westminster Seminary Re: Peter Enns

Whew! No need; I deny, deny, deny it also. Salvation has no meaning whatever even the unregenerate can understand that; that was my case; I new well the T by my Lutheran "we are by nature sinful &...
  22. Re: Grudem's Letter to Westminster Seminary Re: Peter Enns

I have thought (for ex) Eph 4:13 is "progressive sanctification". Please help me to understand your meaning of the phrase.
  23. Re: Grudem's Letter to Westminster Seminary Re: Peter Enns

Temptation to (my) unbelief comes (to me) in many ways but why so often by seminarians?

I am willing to test the boundaries of my understanding in things I consider non-essential but worth...
