Gods wrath is never carried out against his elect

Eph 2:3 among whom we also had our way of life in times past, in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

This verse does not say anything about wrath being carried out. No verse in the bible says that God’s wrath will be carried out against any of his elect.

What the bible does teach is that God’s wrath will either be carried out against the person committing the sin (sins) or it will be carried out against his son Jesus.

In the case of the reprobate it will be carried out against them

In the case of the elect it will be carried out against Jesus.

It does not get more simple or easy to understand than this.

Re: Gods wrath is never carried out against his elect

Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love with which He loved us

Obviously, being a “child of wrath” does not mean God can’t love one. The bible is clear that some “children of wrath” are loved by God and some are hated. Notice love is expressed in the past tense “loved”.

Eph 2:5 (even when we were dead in sins) has made us alive together with Christ (by grace you
    are saved),

    Those he loved he regenerated

Eph 2:6 and has raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenlies in Christ
    Jesus,

Very interesting that the past tense of the “ to make”, made is used here.

Eph 2:7 so that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

Now a future tense is used “to come”.

Eph 2:8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,
Now we have the present tense “are saved” . So in these verses we have past, present and future tenses. Could this be hinting at eternity?

So God gives is the gift of having his Son pay for our sins by having his wrath carried out against him instead of us.

Could there be a more gracious or sovereign God? I think not!

Well by nature we were children of wrath, that is our nature was still in sin.. fulfilling the desires of our flesh instead of the desire of the Holy Spirit. However, THE children of wrath are the reprobates never to be loved by God. Only God's children are loved by Him, even when we were sinners Christ loved us. We have always been loved by God, when we were lost and once we were found. We have always been a child of God whether we realized it or not. God loves His children and God hates those who are not His. Definitely a simple and blessed Truth. And there is nothing that separates us from Gods love.
