Pristine Grace

I Shall Not Want
by John Pedersen

“The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.”

This verse from Psalm 23 summarizes the whole Christian life. Christ, our Good Shepherd, provides all for us so we lack nothing. He loves and cares for us. His love is effective and cannot be thwarted by any power in the universe. Moreover, whom He loves, He protects.  The elements may threaten, but He will shelter us. Wolves may seek our harm, but He will face them and He will defeat them. Famine may press us, but He will lead us to the refreshment and nourishment necessary to sustain us. In short, with the LORD Christ as our Shepherd, we will want for nothing, and though at times it may seem otherwise, one consideration of what He has already done for our sake will remove all doubt of this truth.
