The Sin of Self-Righteousness
by John Pedersen

Accusing others of sin is one of the easiest, most natural, and most common things among professing Christians and non-Christians alike. Some actually have ministries of accusation, incessantly excoriating and condemning others, and promoting themselves as innocent of the fault they find in those they condemn.

But there is one sin it is impossible to recognize except by a miracle of the Holy Spirit, and as it happens, it is the greatest sin of all: the sin of self-righteousness. Even unbelievers know theft, and murder, and adultery are sin and condemnable. None truly know of the sin of self-righteousness who have not been given eyes to see it, and none may know the glory of the gospel and the forgiveness of sins without repentance of this, the greatest sin of all.
