The Gospel Believed

The gospel comes in power and in truth; it is a feast to the heart that has been prepared by the Holy Spirit because man is dead in sin and cannot of himself come to God in any way. “There is none who understands, there is none who seeks after God.” (Romans 3:11). Jesus told His disciples that it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and their response;

“Who then can be saved? But Jesus looked at them and said to them‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:25, 26)

God chose a people for Himself before the foundation of the world and His choosing was not based on anything that they did but upon His purpose and for His glory alone. The children of God are those who believe in His name and who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:12b, 13)

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:3-6)

“who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus, before time began, but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2 Timothy 1: 9, 10)

“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins……but God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace ye have been saved) (Eph 2: 1,4)

God sent Christ to the earth to save those chosen by Him. Christ humbled Himself and by His perfect obedience unto death He established a perfect righteousness and died for those the Father had given Him.

“As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep” (John 10:15)

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life…..(John 10: 27, 28a)

“as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him, and this is eternal life that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17: 2, 3)

The sin of those He died for was laid upon Him and His perfect righteousness was imputed to them, through which they are wholly acceptable unto God, and this is the will of God that none shall perish, not a single one.

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

“And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” (Ephesians 5:2)

.."and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father has given them to me……..” (John 10: 28 b….)

This is the gospel of Grace, the gospel preached by Paul, the gospel that comes in Truth, in power and the gospel that we are given faith to believe. This is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. This is the gospel that reveals man cannot fulfill any condition for his own salvation and has no part in it, but that it truly is ALL of God and only by His free Grace. God reveals Himself to us in Truth, the Truth of His Gospel and Jesus tell us "and you shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free……(John 8:32).
