On his way to church one Sunday, Rowland Hill saw a farmer plowing his field. He said to the man, “Friend, why don't you rest your animals and yourself and go to the house of God with us and worship the Lord?” The man replied, “Mr. Hill, I plow my fields on Sunday, sow my seed on Sunday, and reap the crops on Sunday; and I have a better yield than any of you in October.” The wise minister replied, “My dear man, you should bear in mind that the Lord does not always settle his accounts in October!”
