1 Corinthians 15:20
Why is our Lord called, “the firstfruits of them that slept”? Because as the whole harvest of fruits or vegetables follows the first-fruits, so shall the general resurrection of all believers to life eternal follow the resurrection of their Lord from the dead. “If the Spirit of him that raised up Christ from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies” (Rom. 8:10-11). Though our bodies must die, as well as other men, because of sin, yet our bodies shall live again in the resurrection because of the Spirit of Christ who lives in us.
