The Lord's preachers claim no priestly power; therefore, they should never wear a peculiar robe or garment. Besides, what purpose does it serve to dress the preacher in a gown? At the same time, the preacher should endeavor, according to his means, to dress respectably and worthy of the office; an ambassador of the King!
