Sometimes the gospel of grace appears to be at a very low ebb and the believers so few, as in the case of Elijah. But while the elect of God are but a few compared to the mass of false professors and worldlings, yet we were not loved nor chosen because we are many; and we will not be rejected because we are few! The reason he loved us is found not in us, but in him; and he keeps us for the same reason!
