How do we know if we are born of God?

According to the Bible, we know we are born of God by our belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

1 John 5:1 states, 'Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.' This belief is not merely an intellectual acknowledgment but an inner transformation caused by the work of the Holy Spirit. Those born of God will naturally love God and keep His commandments, as true faith produces obedience. This reflects a genuine relationship with God through Christ, evidencing our identity as His children in a world dominated by sin.
