How do we know Jesus is Lord?

Answered in 4 sources

Jesus is recognized as Lord through His divine attributes and roles as Creator and Savior, as revealed in Scripture.

The Lordship of Jesus Christ is affirmed throughout Scripture and is rooted in His nature as both fully God and fully man. In Colossians 2:9, it states, 'For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.' Jesus, being the Creator of all things (John 1:3), holds complete authority over creation, providence, and salvation. His identity as Lord further affirms His unique position as the one true Savior, underscoring His sovereignty over both life and death. As every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11), it is clear that His Lordship is an inherent aspect of who He is.
