How do we know that Jesus is the promised Messiah?

Answered in 2 sources

Jesus fulfills numerous Old Testament prophecies, confirming His identity as the promised Messiah.

The identity of Jesus as the Messiah is confirmed through His fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies. Prophets like Isaiah and Micah foretold the coming of a Savior who would be born in Bethlehem and who would suffer for the sins of His people (Isaiah 53:5). Furthermore, in Luke 2, the shepherds are informed by the angels that a Savior has been born, thus linking their proclamation to the fulfillment of these ancient prophecies. The New Testament writers often refer to these prophecies to affirm that Jesus is indeed the Messiah who came to save His people from their sins.
