How do we know that preaching is effective?

Answered in 1 source

We recognize the effectiveness of preaching through the transformation it fosters in believers' lives.

The effectiveness of preaching is evidenced by the transformative power it exerts on individuals and communities. According to 1 Thessalonians 2:13, when the word of God is proclaimed, it works effectively in those who believe. Historical and contemporary accounts illustrate that preaching has been God’s means to awaken hearts, convict sinners, and create disciples. It is the very tool with which God tears down the strongholds of iniquity. Thus, observing lives changed by the Gospel and the growth of the church in faith and holiness affirms the efficacy of preaching.
