What does it mean to keep God's commandments?

In 1 John 2:4-5, John asserts that keeping God's commandments is a clear indicator of a true believer. It isn't about a legalistic adherence to a set of rules; rather, it reflects a heartfelt commitment resulting from being transformed by God's grace. True obedience springs from a love for Christ and a desire to glorify Him.
