How do we know that God can transform hearts?

Answered in 2 sources

We trust in God's power to transform hearts based on His sovereign will and the promise of new birth in Scripture.

The ability of God to transform hearts rests firmly in the doctrine of regeneration, which is expressed through His sovereign will. Just as He created the world from nothing, He is capable of creating a new heart in a sinner who is spiritually dead. Ezekiel 36:26 reminds us that the Lord will give a new heart and a new spirit, indicating that this transformation is entirely His work. Moreover, John 3:3 states that one must be born again to see the kingdom of God, reinforcing that it's through God's initiative that hearts are changed. Thus, we find assurance in His omnipotence and faithfulness to fulfill His promises in the lives of those He has called.
