How do we know that salvation doesn't depend on having perfect theology?
Answered in 1 source
Salvation is based solely on Christ’s finished work, not on our understanding or ability to explain theological concepts accurately.
In sovereign grace theology, it is clear that salvation is not reliant on perfect theology or complete understanding. The biblical narrative repeatedly illustrates that even the most prominent apostles had varying levels of understanding and made significant errors. For example, Peter, despite being an apostle, had to be corrected multiple times regarding truths about salvation and the law. As Paul emphasizes in Ephesians 2:8-9, it is by grace through faith that we are saved, not through works or understanding. Therefore, our assurance of salvation must rest on Christ’s righteousness, achieved for us, rather than our ability to articulate every aspect of that grace. God’s merciful acceptance of us remains constant, even amid our confusion.
