How do we know that salvation is a work of God?

Answered in 30 sources

We know that salvation is a work of God because Scripture assures us that He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).

Philippians 1:6 states, 'He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.' This verse underscores the sovereignty of God in our salvation. From initiation to completion, our salvation does not depend on our efforts but on God's faithfulness. The entire Trinity is involved—God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit work in harmony to ensure that His purpose in our salvation is fulfilled. Therefore, our assurance lies in the promise that God will complete what He has started.
