How do we know the doctrine of progressive revelation is true?

Answered in 2 sources

The doctrine of progressive revelation is supported by the historical unfolding of God's word, where each covenant builds upon the previous one leading to Christ.

Progressive revelation is a foundational concept in understanding how God communicated with humanity over time. The Bible portrays this as God revealing Himself in stages, starting from Adam through to the prophets, ultimately culminating in the person of Jesus Christ. Each previous covenant provided insight into God's character and redemptive plan, which was not fully comprehended until Christ's coming. As outlined in the entire scriptural narrative, God’s earlier interactions were preparatory, directing His people to the fuller revelation found in the New Testament, thus supporting the doctrine of progressive revelation.
