What does the Bible say about Sabbath keeping?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible teaches that Sabbath keeping was mandated for Israel as a sign of God's salvation, but in Christ, we find rest and fulfillment of that law.

The Bible presents the Sabbath as a significant ordinance given by God to the nation of Israel, intended to serve as a sign between God and His people (Exodus 31:13). However, it is emphasized that this law was specific to Israel and was a type and shadow pointing to the work of Christ. In Hebrews 4, we are taught that Christ is the end of the law, and that true Sabbath keeping is found in resting in Him. The rest that remains for the people of God is not a day of the week, but a rest of faith in Jesus Christ, who has fulfilled all righteousness and offered complete salvation.
