Why is love for Jesus important for Christians?

Love for Jesus is paramount for Christians because it serves as the fundamental indicator of one’s salvation and relational union with Christ. The absence of love for the Lord directly correlates with spiritual death and separation from salvation, as expressed in 1 Corinthians 16:22.
