Good evening. Let's open tonight's
service with hymn number 38 in the spiral, Gospel Hymnal number
38. Let's all stand together. Come, every sinner saved by grace,
you who by faith God's Son embrace. Tell all who hear your voice
below, the debt of love to Christ you owe. Dear Lord, I lift my
praise to Thee All that I am, more hope to Thee I owe alone,
O Christ, to Thee He left his father's throne above and came
to earth on wings of love. For us he lived, the perfect
man, and so fulfilled the law's demand. Dear Lord, I lift my
praise to Thee All that I am or hope to be I owe alone, O
Christ, to Thee Jesus endured His Father's ire, And died at
the appointed hour. But He endured, no tongue can
tell, To save our souls from death and hell. Dear Lord, I
lift my praise to Thee. All that I am, Lord, hope to
Thee. Thine, O alone, O Christ, to
Thee. From death's dark grave our King
arose, And triumphed over all our foes. Up through the skies
the victor rode, And reigns on high our Savior God. Dear Lord, I lift my praise to
Thee All that I am or hope to be I owe alone, O Christ, to
Thee From heaven Christ will quickly come and bring His ransomed
people home. There we shall see His lovely
face and chant the praises of His grace. ? Dear Lord, I lift
my praise to Thee ? ? All I am or hope to be ? ? I owe alone,
O Christ, to Thee ? Please be seated. Good evening. Let's open our Bibles
to Psalm 113. Psalm 113. that hymn that we just sang. Speaking of lifting up our voices
in praise, Psalm 113, verse one, praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the
Lord, praise the name of the Lord. Blessed be the name of
the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. from the rising
of the sun unto the going down of the same. The Lord's name
is to be praised. The Lord is high above all nations
and his glory above the heavens. Who is like unto the Lord our
God, who dwelleth on high, who humbleth himself to behold the
things that are in heaven and are in the earth? He raiseth
up the poor out of the dust, he lifteth the needy out of the
dunghill, that he may set him with princes, even the princes
of his people. He maketh the barren woman to
keep house and to be a joyful mother of Children. Praise ye
the Lord. Let's pray. Our merciful Heavenly Father,
we thank you that you have put into our hearts a desire to praise
you, a desire to worship. Lord, we ask that you would fulfill
that desire with your mercy and with your grace and your power. Pray that you would move our hearts to worship in
the power of your spirit. We pray, Lord, that you would
open the eyes of our understanding and reveal to us the truth, the truth of who you are and
what you've done to save us and to bring us up out of the dunghill
of our sin and to set us as princes in your family and in your kingdom.
Lord, we pray that you would reveal to us the glorious person
and the accomplished work of thy dear son, our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ. Lord, we pray for our brethren
that are afflicted. We know, Lord, that that all
affliction comes from you. And we know that you always provide
with your afflicting hand, a hand of mercy and of strength and
Lord of hope. And we pray that you would give
that encouragement to our brethren that are suffering now. We ask
it in Christ's name. Amen. Number 224 in the hardback temple,
224. Let's all stand once again. 224.
I know not why God's wondrous grace to me he hath made known. For my unworthy Christ in love
redeemed before His own. But I know whom I have believed
and am persuaded that He is able. I know not how his saving faith
to me he did impart, nor how believing in his word brought
peace within my heart. But I know whom I have believed
and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed
unto Him against that day. ? Not how the Spirit moves ? Convincing
man of sin ? Revealing Jesus through the Word ? Creating faith
in Him ? But I know whom I have believed in ? And am persuaded
that He is able which I've committed unto Him
against that day. I know not what of good or ill
may be reserved for Of weary ways or golden days,
before His face I see. But I know whom I have believed
and am persuaded that He is able. Keep that which I've committed
unto Him against that day. I know not when my Lord may come
at night or noonday fair, nor if I'll walk the vale with Him
or meet Him in the air. But I know whom I have believed
in and am persuaded that He is able Please be seated. I love that hymn. And I love
the last line in the last stanza. We don't know if we'll walk the
veil with him or if we'll meet him in the air. But either way,
either way, we're going to be with him. Let's open our Bibles to the
ninth chapter of John again. We've been here for several Wednesday
nights looking at this man that had been born blind. You remember
how the story begins when the disciples asked the Lord, why
was he blind? Was it because of his sin or
because of the sins of his parents? And the Lord said, neither, but
that the works of God might be made manifest in him. And for
the first time ever, a man that was born blind was given his
sight. Miraculously, the Lord made the
mud with the spit and the dirt and sent him to the Pool of Siloam. And he did it on the Sabbath.
He did it on the Sabbath and the Pharisees are enraged. They're looking for ways to be
rid of him and thinking that this is the time. And so they're interrogating this young man. And they ask him in verse 17,
and here's where we'll begin tonight. In verse 17, they said
unto the blind man again, what sayest thou of him? What sayest thou of him? Now
the Pharisees had already agreed and they had put out the word
that if anyone confesses that this Jesus of Nazareth is the
Christ of God, that he's the Messiah, they will be excommunicated. They will be put out of the synagogue. They will have no hope of salvation. And it's the reason why this
man's parents were afraid when the Pharisees brought them in.
They said, they started interrogating the parents and the parents said,
you'll have to ask him. They were afraid of the Pharisees.
They were afraid of what they could do or what they thought
they could do. This man wasn't intimidated at
all. What a... What a picture of grace when
the Lord begins to reveal himself to the heart and he does a work
of grace. You remember what this man said?
He said, I don't know about all your theological questions. All
I know is that once I was blind and now I see. And that's every
believer's testimony. We may not be able to answer
all the theological debates that men want to involve themselves
in. But if the Lord's given us eyes
to see, see ourselves for what we are and believe that we're
sinners, see God as holy, see Christ as a successful redeemer
and the life that we're in so desperate need of, if he gives
us eyes to see, if we can say, I don't know, all I know is that
once I couldn't see any of those things, once I didn't know I
was a sinner, I didn't know that God was holy, I didn't know who
the Lord Jesus was, not really, now I know, now I see. And progressively now, the Lord
is going to have this man answer this question. What sayest thou
of him? And the first answer he's gonna
give is that he's a prophet. He is a prophet. The second answer
he's gonna give is that he is a worshiper of God. The third
answer that he's going to give is that he does the will of God. And the fourth answer that he's
going to give is that he is the son of God. And so progressively,
the Lord is not just giving him physical sight, but he's giving
him spiritual sight, so much more important. And he's, And
the conclusion of the matter is seen in verse 38. We'll just go to the end of the
story. After the Lord told him, the
Lord asked him in the end, believest thou on the Son of God? And the
man said, who is he, Lord? And I will believe. Just tell
me who he is. You have both seen him and it
is he that speaketh to you. And in verse 38, Lord, I believe,
and he worshiped him. The evidence of faith is worship.
It's bowing before him and ascribing to him all the glory that he's
worthy of, ascribing to him all the glory for your salvation. What sayest thou of him? You remember just a few verses earlier, they
wanted not information about who did the miracle, but how
he did it. And now they're They've had this
answered, this question answered, and now they're focusing their
attention on who it was. What do you say about him? And
unapologetically, the man draws the conclusion that there's no
way that he could have given, no way he could have done this
for me unless he was sent of God. He's a prophet. He's a prophet. Is this not the beginning of
our salvation? It's when the Lord begins to
show us that we need a word from God. That all of our opinions
and all the opinions of the world and all the opinions of religion
are of no value. We need a prophet. that can speak
the truth and will speak the truth to our hearts about the
things of God. And that was the first conclusion
this man came to in response to this question. What sayest
thou of him? And he said in verse 17, he's
a prophet. There's no denying that he believed
that this one that had given him sight was sent of God. Much like Nicodemus, when Nicodemus
came to the Lord in the third chapter of this gospel and said,
we know that thou art sent of God for no man can do the things
that thou doest except God be with him. And we saw last Wednesday
night that there was a debate among the Pharisees for some
were saying that he wasn't the Christ and others were saying,
let's slow down and let's look at what he is doing. And only
a man sent from God could do this. Turn with me to Luke chapter
24. Now, I'll skip ahead quickly
to Deuteronomy chapter 18, because in Deuteronomy chapter 18, the
Lord tells Moses that he is going to send a prophet like unto him. that will bring salvation to
Israel. And that was a prophecy that
God gave to Moses of the coming of the Lord Jesus. And that prophet is called the prophet.
That prophet's called the prophet. Before we look at Luke 24, let
me ask you to turn back to John, John chapter six. John chapter six. after the feeding of the 5,000 in verse
14 of John 6, then those men, when they had seen the miracle
that Jesus did, said, this is of a truth, that prophet that
should come into the world. That prophet is the prophet.
It's the Messiah, the Christ. At this point, the blind man
in John chapter 9 doesn't say that this is the prophet, he
just says he is a prophet. In Luke chapter 24, our Lord after the resurrection meets
up with these disciples on the road to Emmaus. he begins to converse with them. And he asked them, why are you
so downtrodden? Why are you so, you seemingly
so discouraged and depressed? And verse 18 says, and one of
them, whose name was Cleophas, Cleophas answered and said unto
him, "'Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem "'and hast not thou
known the things "'which are come to pass there in these days?'
"'You're asking us why we're so discouraged? "'You just came
from Jerusalem. "'Don't you know what just went
on there?' "'And he said unto them, "'What things?' "'And they
said unto him, "'Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, "'which was a prophet.'"
Mighty indeed and word before God and all the people. And I look these verses up and
the indefinite article A is there in the original language and
the definite article D is there. So there's a difference in the
language between the prophet and a prophet. These disciples walking to Emmaus
after having observed the crucifixion and the burial of the Lord Jesus,
came to the conclusion that Jesus of Nazareth was not the prophet,
but a prophet. Because the prophet couldn't
have died. And so this man was saying, He doesn't know yet that the
Lord Jesus is the prophet. He doesn't know that he's the
Christ. He just knows that he is a prophet. And that as a prophet,
what he says and what he does is true. But as a prophet, he's not able to save. Only the
prophet can do that. And so the Lord's going to take
him by the hand and bring him from that place of knowing that
this man is of God. What he says is true to this
man is the son of God. And he is worthy of my worship. and all my praise. You remember when our Lord asked
the disciples, whom do men say that I am? And Peter spoke up and said,
well, some say that thou art Elijah, prophet. He's the symbol
of all the Old Testament prophets. Some say that thou art John the
Baptist. They consider John the Baptist was a prophet of God.
or one of the other prophets. In other words, the opinions
of men was that this man who was performing miracles is of
God. He is sent of God with the word
of God. And what the Lord does for his
people is he causes them to see that he is the word of God. and
he is God made flesh. Saul, the Lord asked the disciples,
whom do you say that I am? And what Peter say, thou art
the Christ. Thou art the prophet. Thou art
that one that was promised of God as the son of God. Now, the Pharisees, turn with me back
to our text and look at verse 25. Verse 24, the Pharisee says,
give God the glory, don't give the glory to that man, give God
the glory for that man is a sinner. You see that in verse 24? And
he answered and said, whether he be a sinner or no, I know
not. One thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see. I don't
know about these things. All I know is that, and he's
gonna come back at them. This blind man is, he's not the
least bit intimidated by these Pharisees. He's gonna come back
at him and say, how can a sinner do what he does? He can't be
a sinner. But at this point, The only two conclusions that
we can come to is that the Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ of God
that we preach is either a prophet or he's a sinner. There's no in between. There's
no middle ground. He's either son of God or he's
not son of God. If he's not son of God, then
he's an imposter. When we declare Christ for who
he is and for what he's done, and we can't compromise his person or
his work, Those who believe in a lesser
Christ want to find some ground, some common ground with us. They
want to think that our differences are just theological differences
or they're just a difference of opinion or a difference of
tradition or something else that's not really that significant.
But the truth is that it's the difference between Jesus being
the Son of God or Jesus being a sinner. There's no middle ground and
there is no common ground. We can't agree to disagree with
our religious friends and family members or our unbelieving friends.
We have to say no. If you want to call my Christ
a sinner, then do that, but don't say that we're worshiping the
same God. We're not. Either the Jesus that we preach
is sent of God as the prophet of God, or he is a sinner. There's no other option. Turn with me to Matthew chapter
23. Matthew 23. The Lord is rebuking the Pharisees quite harshly, actually. in Matthew
chapter 23. And in verse 29, he says, woe
unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you build
the tombs of the prophets and garnish the sepulchers of the
righteous. You take the remains of the Old
Testament prophets who were faithful in their declarations and you
honor them. And you say, we would not have
done what our fathers did in persecuting those prophets. Look at verse 30. And you say,
if we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have
been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. It was
the religious leaders of Israel that had many of the Old Testament
prophets put to death because they didn't want to hear the
message that they were preaching. Wherefore, verse 31, you be witnesses
unto yourselves that you are the children of them which killed
the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of
your fathers, you serpents, you generation of vipers. How can
you escape the damnation of hell? You say that you wouldn't have
done what your fathers did in shedding the blood of those men
sent of God with the word from God. And yet here you are now
taking the prophet, not just a prophet, but the prophet of
God and you're about to shed His blood. You're doing worse
than what your fathers did. And yet you pretend that you
are on God's side by garnishing the remains of those Old Testament
prophets. You give lip service to the Word
of God But you don't bow and believe what God has said and
what he's done. Turn with me to Acts chapter
24. Acts 24. Paul is defending the gospel
and declaring the gospel to Roman governor Felix. And in chapter
24 at verse 14, they were accusing him of heresy, the apostle Paul. And in verse 14, but this, I
confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy,
so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are
written in the law and in the prophets. This blind man, when
he asked, when they asked him, what say ye of him? He's a prophet. I believe what he says. I believe
what he does. I believe that he's been son
of God. You say that he's a sinner, but
faith believes what the prophets of God declare. Paul said, you
call me a heretic, but what you're calling heresy is really the
God of my fathers that I worship because I believe everything. I believe everything that the
prophets have written. I believe God's word is true. We're not just giving lip service
to the word of God. like our religious friends might
do. We're saying Jesus is the Christ. He's the prophet of God. He's
the one who came as the word of God and fulfilled all the
promises of God. And we rest all our hope in him.
And anything less than that, anything less than that is nothing. You remember the word heresy? The word heresy, if you look
up that word in the original language, it means to make a
choice. It means to make a choice or to have an opinion. Anything
inconsistent, anything that a person believes that is not consistent
with the revealed truth that has come to us by the prophets
of God, confirmed by the prophet of God, is heresy. And so we can say with the Apostle
Paul, what you call heresy, that's the God that I worship.
In fact, You're just projecting your own heresy onto me. You're
accusing me of the very thing that you're guilty of because
it's you that has the opinion. Go ahead and make your stand
against God. Go back with me to our text in
John chapter 9. We believe that Jesus Christ,
the Son of God, is the prophet of God. We believe everything
he has said and everything he has done. And we believe him. We're persuaded. We're persuaded
that he is able to keep that which I've committed unto him
against that day. What have we committed to him?
Everything. committed everything unto him. Notice in verse 27, and he answered them,
they asked him again, how did he open your eyes in verse 26?
And he answered them, I've told you already and you did not hear. Wherefore would you hear it again?
Will you also be his disciples? How bold this man was. I mean, he'd been all of his
life blind and now he's got sight to see. Is this not the boldness
that God gives to those that he opens the eyes to? That we
can say without apology, we can declare clearly who Christ is
and not be intimidated by what others believe. Then they reviled
him and said, thou art his disciples, but we are Moses' disciples.
Now, Lord willing, next Wednesday night, I'm gonna try to bring
a message just from that verse. You're his disciple, we're Moses'
disciple. You go to Mount Sinai, you go
to Mount Calvary, we're going to Mount Sinai. You believe in
grace, we believe in law. And that's the contrast. There's no in between. It's either
all of grace or it's all of law, you can't mix the two. If it
is of grace, it can no longer be of works, otherwise grace
is not grace. Now that's the point here, either
the Lord Jesus is the prophet of God or he's a sinner. Either
we're saved by grace or we're saved by works. You can't say, well, I'm right
on some parts of my belief about who Christ is, but you know,
don't have to be right about everything, no. Verse 30, the man answered and
said unto them, why herein is a marvelous thing that you know
not from whence he is, and yet he opened mine eyes. Now we know
that God heareth not sinners. He wouldn't have been able to
have the power to open my eyes. No man's eyes have been opened
that was born blind. It's never happened, never been
recorded before. God wouldn't have heard him if
he was a sinner. God doesn't hear sinners. But
if any man be a worshiper of God and doeth his will, him he
heareth. So now he's, throughout this interrogation,
he's coming to realize, not only is he a prophet of God, he's
a worshiper of God. He's still answering the question.
that they ask him up front, what sayest thou of him? He's a worshiper
of God. Now either the Lord Jesus Christ
is a worshiper of God or he is what the Pharisees called him
Beelzebub. No middle ground. There's no
in between. He's one or the other. You remember when he was casting
out demons, they said, he's casting out demons by the power of the
devil. What'd the Lord say? A house divided against itself
can't stand? How foolish is that, that the
devil would come and cast out demons? No, why would he destroy
his own house? You're not even making sense
in your reasoning. But their hatred for the Lord
Jesus was so intense that they, could not agree that he was a
worshiper of God, they had to conclude that he was of the devil
himself. Now I've read some of the letters
and the debates that took place between John Wesley and George Whitefield and Augustus
Toplady. and they got pretty heated. And yet, much of their debates had
to do with doctrine and theology. They were accusing one another,
well, you're an Armenian, you're a Calvinist. Finally, Wesley spoke the truth
when he said to George Whitefield, your God is my devil. Now that's the choice. That's the choice. Either he's a prophet of God
or he's a sinner. Either we're saved by works or we're saved
by grace. Either he's a worshiper of God or he's a devil worshiper. There's no in between. Did the Lord not say that when
the false prophets came, that they would come as wolves in
sheep's clothing, that they would come as angels of light, that
they would come as ministers of righteousness, that they would
come counterfeiting, counterfeiting the Lord Jesus? Is there any
difference between a close counterfeit and one that's way off No, it's
no difference. Matter of fact, the closer the
counterfeit is to the real thing, the more dangerous it is, isn't
it? The third thing that this man
says about the Lord Jesus is that he doeth the will of God. He doeth the will of God. You
see that in verse 31? God doesn't hear sinners. God
will only hear a man if he's a worshiper of God and he doeth
his will. Those are the ones that God hears.
Now what is it to do the will of God? It's to believe on the
Lord Jesus Christ. Who himself did all the will
of God. He did all the will of God. The
first words out of our Lord's mouth at the age of 12, did you
not know that it must be about my father's business? In John chapter four, when the
disciples came back from Sychar and they tried to get the Lord
to eat and he said, I have meat to eat that you know not of.
For my meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish
his work. What was his work? To save his
people from their sins. And when he bowed his mighty
head on Calvary's cross and he cried, it is finished. He was
doing the will of his father. This is my beloved son in whom
I'm well pleased. He's accomplishing my purpose. I've sent him to save his people. and he's doing my bidding. God made his soul an offering
for sin. The pleasure of the Lord prospered
in his hand. He bore the sin of many and made
transgression, intercession, I'm sorry, for the transgressor. You see, To say that the Lord Jesus wants
to save everybody and that He died to save everybody is to deny that He did the will
of the Father. The will of the Father was to
save. And that's what the Lord Jesus
did. So either He accomplished what He came to do or He died
in vain. There's no, either he did the
will of the Father or he didn't do the will of the Father. There's no in between, there's
no middle ground. And then as we've already read
in verses 37 and 38, when the Lord asked him, dost thou believe
on the Son of God? Who is he, Lord, that I might
believe? You have both seen him, and he that speaketh unto you
is he. I believe, Lord." And he worshipped him. He believed
what? He believed that he was the Son
of God. Now, I didn't know this until
in preparation for this message, but as often as Son of God is
used in the New Testament, it's only found once in the Old Testament. One time. And I ask you to turn
with me there in your Bibles to Daniel chapter three, Daniel
chapter three. The children of Israel are in
Babylonian captivity. Daniel has been elevated because
of his interpreting Nebuchadnezzar's dream to a high position of honor. And he has taken three of his
friends and he's promoted them and now they are governing officials
in the government of Nebuchadnezzar. Nebuchadnezzar builds this large
statue, this idol, and commands all the people under his reign,
which was the whole world, when they heard the music played,
bow to their to the God of Babylon. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,
the three friends of Daniel, refused to bow. They bring word
back to Nebuchadnezzar that they would not worship, they would
not bow to the God of Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar had already written
a decree saying that if anyone in the kingdom didn't bow, they
would be thrown into the fiery furnace. And now Nebuchadnezzar
is enraged that there would be anyone that wouldn't obey his
command. And in verse 19 of Daniel chapter
3, then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury and the form of his visit
was changed against Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Therefore,
he spake and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven
times more than it was want to be heated. And he commanded the
most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach,
and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
Then these men were bound in their coats, and their hosen,
and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into
the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Therefore, because the
king's commandment was urgent and the furnace exceedingly hot,
the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach,
and Abednego. Years ago, we lived in Alabama,
in a small town in South Alabama. And in that town was a coal-fired electric plant, a steam plant
that produced electricity. And while we were living there,
there was a furnace in that, whatever you call it, this steam
plant. that some men had thought had cooled down enough to be
able to open the door to it. It turned out it hadn't, and
it killed three of them. The heat of that furnace came
out when they opened its door and burned three of those men
in that small town to death. That happened, I mean, I remember
that happening. That's exactly what happens here. And yet, though the fire that
came out of the furnace killed the strong men of Nebuchadnezzar
that were putting Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into the furnace,
it didn't injure the Hebrew children. Look what it says. The Nebuchadnezzar
the king was astounded. and rose up in haste and spake
and said unto his counselors, did not we cast three men bound
into the midst of the fire? And they answered and said unto
him, unto the king, true, O king. And he answered and said, lo,
I see four men, loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and
they have no hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son
of God. The only place in the Old Testament
where Son of God is found, and where is it found? When these
men who refused to be intimidated by the threats of others, the
religious establishment. They had been given faith and
grace and revelation to stand for the truth. They said, this
Jesus of Nazareth is the prophet of God. He's a worshiper of God. He has accomplished the will
of God. I will not bow, but we're gonna
persecute you for it. He'll go with me in that persecution. We didn't read these verses,
but when Nebuchadnezzar first speaks to them, Shadrach, Meshach,
and Abednego, and threatens them, they said, we know, O king, that
our God can deliver us from that furnace. And we also know that
he will deliver us from you, but we're not gonna bow. We're
not gonna bow. We're not gonna compromise the
truth that God has revealed to us about who our Savior is. He's the Son of God. He's nothing
less than the Son of God. We cannot lessen His glory. We
cannot lessen His work. We cannot consider Him to be
anything less than the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And there's a furnace. There's
a furnace that God has heated seven times hotter than any furnace
a man can possibly build. And the only hope, the only hope
that I can pass through that fire is that the Son of God goes
through the fire with me and that He consumes. They come out,
they come out of the fire. Look, look at verse 26. Then
Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace
and spake unto Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of
the most high God, come forth and come hither. Then Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego came forth of the midst of the fire and
the princes and the governors and the captains and the king's
counselors being gathered together, saw these men upon whom, whose
bodies the fire had no power. Nor was a hair their head singed,
neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed
on them." Why? Because the son of God consumed
the heat of that fire. Oh, the fire of God's wrath.
fell at Mount Calvary just as it did when Elijah built that
temple at Mount Carmel. And the God who answered by fire,
he'll be the God we'll worship. And you remember the fire that
fell on Mount Carmel consumed the sacrifice. But when the sacrifice
was consumed, The fire was quenched, it was
out because the sacrifice in fact
consumed the fire. And that's what's happening in
Daniel chapter three, the Lord Jesus Christ, the fourth man
in the fiery furnace, the son of God is consuming the fire
of God's wrath so that the Hebrew children will not even have the
smell of smoke on them. Not a hair on their head will
be singed. They'll be able to walk free. Let's pray. Our heavenly father,
thank you. Thank you for the boldness that
you gave this man in John 9. Thank you for the revelation
that you gave to him about thy dear son. Thank you, Lord, for the encouragement
that his testimony is to us as we see ourselves walking down
the same road. And Lord, we thank you that we're
able to say, Lord, I believe and worship. We ask it in Christ's name, amen. 37. Just verses 1, 3, and 4. O Lord my God, when I in awesome
wonder Consider all the works Thy hands have made. I see the star, I hear the rolling
thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed. Then sings my soul, my Savior
God, to Thee How great Thou art, how great Thou art Then sings
my soul, my Savior God, to Thee How great Thou art How great
Thou art! And when I think that God, His
Son not sparing, Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in. That on the cross, my burden
gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin. Then sings my soul, my Savior
God, to Thee, How great Thou art! How great Thou art! And sings my soul, my Savior
God, to Thee How great Thou art! How great Thou art! When Christ shall come with shout
of acclamation, And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart! Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art! ? Then sings
my soul, my Savior God, to Thee ? How great Thou art, how great
Thou art ? Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee How great
thou art, how great thou art. Recognize.
