I need the every hour. That's our prayer this morning
this hour. The Lord would be pleased to reveal his face. To
send his spirit to this place, that's our hearts desire. My
purpose this morning is to declare the promise that the father has
made to us because of the covenant, the father and the son entered
into for the salvation of the Lord's elect. I wish to declare
the finished and successful salvation of the Lord's people. I pray
he causes me to tell you the good news that he has revealed
to my heart. I have titled this message the
promise of the covenant God. And if you would turn to Genesis
chapter six, please. We know this story and Adam Clark
made mention of the ark. on Wednesday night, but this
is the story of Noah and the ark. And we're not going to read the
entire chapter. We'll read portions here and
there as we go through, but we're going to begin reading in verse
five. Genesis chapter six in verse five says, and God saw
that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every
imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that
he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from
the face of the earth, both man and beast and the creeping thing
and the fowls of the air, for it repenteth me that I have made
them. But Noah found grace in the eyes
of the Lord. Notice in verse five where he
says, Every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only
evil continually. He said the wickedness of man
and the earth was very great and that every imagination, this
includes Noah. Noah's imagination was no different
than everybody else's imagination. Noah was a man, just as you and
I are, he was a sinful man that needed a savior. But he found
grace in the eyes of the Lord. In verse number six, as he says,
it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth and
grieved him at his heart. It is beyond our comprehension
how grievous our sin is to the holy God and creator of all things. We have no idea what Christ truly
had to go through on the cross to redeem his people. We are
not holy and therefore can't understand what he meant by,
he shall see the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied. We cannot enter into that thought.
Turn with me if you would to Psalm chapter seven. Psalm chapter seven and verse
eight. He says the Lord shall judge
the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to
my righteousness and according to my integrity that is in me.
This has to be Christ, because he is the only one that qualifies
to cry that out, to pray that. Verse nine, oh, let the wickedness
of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just For the
righteous God trieth the hearts and reigns. My defense is of
God, which saveth the upright in heart. Who is the upright
in heart? That's Christ. God judgeth the righteous. We
know the righteous, that's Christ and those that are found in him.
And God is angry with the wicked every day. If he turn not, he
will wet his sword. He hath bent his bow and made
it ready. People in this life wish to offer
their works unto the Father, like it says in verse eight,
judge me according to my righteousness. This is the ultimate form of
unbelief. To not need Christ, to not need a substitute, to
offer our own righteousness. Some might say that they are
not really that bad or they are not that wicked, and they're
right. They're worse than words could ever describe. We are worse
than words could ever describe. The reason is, is we define sin
by the actions that we do. When in reality, sin is what
we are. In every way we are wretched,
we are vile, we are hell deserving sinners. And this can only be
revealed by a holy God. That is the only way that it
can be believed. In Isaiah chapter one, verse
five and six, he said, why should you be stricken anymore? You
will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick and the
whole heart faint from the sole of the foot, even into the head.
There is no soundness in it, but wounds and bruises and putrefying
sores. They have not been clothed, clothes,
neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment. And if he stopped
there, we would have no hope, but he didn't stop there. In
verse nine, he says, and this is where we find our hope, except
the Lord of hosts. had left unto us a very small
remnant. We should have been as Sodom,
and we should have been like unto Gomorrah. Let's go back
to our text in Genesis chapter 6. In verse 8 is where we find
this hope. But Noah found grace in the eyes
of the Lord. I love how our Lord words this
because it would confused the wise, but we know that grace
can only be found because it's been bestowed upon us. Noah wasn't
searching for grace when he found it. The Lord bestowed it upon
him. And therefore the only elect man in the world at that time
found grace in the eyes of the Lord. It was the Lord's doing.
None of us were looking for Christ when he found us. He came to
where we were. at our appointed time and revealed Christ to us. The Lord uses his gospel to cause
us to seek his face. And as Greg said many times,
I will and you shall. The Lord does not use songs. The Lord does not use books to
save his people. The Lord does not use poems,
signs, wonders or plays or movies to save his people. The Lord
uses the preaching of his gospel to save his people because the
Lord's gospel is the only means wherein Christ is revealed. Through
the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has made
sinners able to call upon a holy God, and he has made them perfectly
righteous so that he hears them. Let's continue on in chapter
six. In verse 12, it says, and God
looked upon the earth and behold, It was corrupt for all flesh
had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah,
the end of all flesh has come before me for the earth is filled
with violence through them. And behold, I will destroy them
with the earth. In verse 12, he says, and God
looked. And in verse 13, he says, and God said, God is the only
righteous judge. I take hope in knowing our Lord
has never had a new thought, yet he thinks of me. He does
not make evaluations to determine certain outcomes. He does not
compute calculations to arrive at a right answer. Our Lord wills
and everything is thus. Every step we take, every thought
we have, every heartbeat that beats, every breath that we take
is ordered by him who sits upon the throne. He reigneth. He is
holy and just. He is grace and truth. He is
the author and the finisher of our faith. Exodus 15, 11 says,
who is likened to the old Lord among the gods? Who is likened
to the glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders. Micah chapter seven in verse
18, who is a God likened to thee that pardoneth iniquity and passeth
by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage. He retaineth
not his anger forever because he delighteth in mercy. I need a God like this and I
must be found in the center substitute Jesus Christ. In verse 14, we find the commandment
of the Lord unto Noah and we'll read from 14 to 17. And he says,
make thee an ark of gopher wood, room shall thou make it in the
ark and shall pitch it within and without with pitch. And this
is the fashion which thou shalt make of it. The length of the
arc shall be 300 cubits, the breadth of it 50 cubits, and
the height of it 30 cubits. A window shalt thou make to the
arc, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above. And the door
of the arc shalt thou set in the side thereof, with lower,
second, and third stories shalt thou make it. And behold, I,
even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all
flesh wherein is the breath of life from under heaven, and everything
that is in the earth shall die. But with thee will I establish
my covenant. The Lord was very specific when
he said, make thee an ark of gopher wood. He was very specific
in the construct of this ark. Noah had no part in the design
of it. Noah did not organize any of
the details. Noah did not provide the supplies
and he did not make food, not make the food or provisions that
they had on the ark as we find in verse 21. And take thou unto
thee of all food that is eaten and thou shalt gather it to thee
and it shall be for food for thee and for them. In 22 he says,
thus did Noah, according to all that God commanded him, so did
he. This was the Lord's design. And Noah did not do anything
except obey God. He did not order the animals
into the ark. They came by the order of the Lord. All that Noah
did was work according to the word of the Lord. And the Lord
blessed his efforts and provided all that he needed. Everything
that the father demands, everything that the father requires, he
provides in his son, Jesus Christ. We'll have to come back to the
Ark in just a minute. I want to look, if you would, in verse 18, where
he said, I will establish my covenant with thee. A covenant
is a pledge, an agreement, a guarantee. And in John 17, 23, Christ was
praying unto the father. He said, I and them and thou
and me, that they may be made perfect in one. And that the
world may know that thou has sent me and has loved them as
thou has loved me to be found in him without blemish and without
spot. This is the covenant that was
forever fulfilled in our surety. He said I will and you shall. He had no part. We had no part
in the design, the execution of or the fulfillment of this
government. This was an everlasting covenant
that he mentions in Genesis chapter 17 when God was speaking unto
Abraham. This is the everlasting covenant
that is described by David on his deathbed in 2 Samuel 23,
verse five. Although my house be not so with
God, yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered
in all things, ensure, for this is all my salvation, and all
my desire, although he make it not to grow. I need this promise
of the covenant God. In Genesis chapter six, we find
that there are several pictures and types that we could look
into, but for the sake of time, I'm just going to look at two
of them this morning. The first one is Noah being the preacher,
the art being Christ, The animals being the church brought in by
the spirit through the preaching of the gospel. The second one
is Noah being us who have received the promise of the Lord, but
are looking through a glass darkly. The scripture says in first John
chapter three in verse two, beloved, now are we the sons of God and
it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when
he shall appear, we shall be like him for we shall see him
as he is. I would like to look at Noah
just for a moment as a contrast of him being us in this life.
If you notice in the last verse of chapter five, it tells us
that Noah was 500 years old whenever he had sons. And in chapter seven
in verse six, it says, and Noah was 600 years old when the flood
of waters was upon the earth. We do not know how long it took
to build the ark. We don't know how long it took
to gather the provisions. but we do know that it was about
100 years from the time the word of the Lord came to Noah and
the flood of waters was upon the earth. This is significant
because that's about the time of our lifespan. Our curse due
to sin is separation from God and to work and sweat our entire
lives just to eat. This is found in Genesis chapter
three. Therefore, Knowing that Noah was just a man in his curse,
he had to grow weary during this seemingly impossible task. The
Lord had to give him great grace in order to accomplish this task.
He was just a man such as we are. As he worked this great
work of obeying the Lord's word by building an ark, seasons would
come and seasons would go, but he always found the Lord to be
faithful and true. That is our hope as well. Noah is referred to in second
Peter chapter two and verse five as a preacher of righteousness. How often do you think he was
heckled by those that were full of unbelief? How grieved he must
have been as the only elect man upon the face of the earth at
that time. How grieved he must have been at the despise meant
that people would put on the Lord's gospel. He was sharing
the best news a man had ever heard, but they was full of unbelief.
So in obedience in Christ, he preached to his family and the
Lord was merciful and to his wife and his three sons and their
wives. Day after day, year after year,
they worked and the Lord provided all that is needed. Such as we
are, we work in this curse, in this world that we live in. People
around us all the time are full of unbelief, not interested in
anything we have to say about the electing grace of our God.
And we become weary physically, day after day, waking up, some
days frustrated, some days the Lord blesses our effort, it seems.
But there's a song that says, why should I feel discouraged?
Why should the shadows come? Why should my heart feel lonely
and long for the heavenly home when Jesus is my portion? A constant
friend is he. His eye is on the sparrow, and
I know he cares for me. Brethren, when we become frustrated
with the Lord's providence and provisions, we are frustrated
with his love. He worketh all things together
for good to them that love God, to them are thee called according
to his purpose. How often do we become angry
because our labor is not prospering in the way that we think it should?
or for things not working out as we plan. If we are angry at
circumstances, we are angry at God. And who are we to question
him? The world looks at their circumstances and possessions
as the favor of the Lord. But in reality, this is has absolutely
nothing to do with the favor of the Lord. He has purposed
all things and he that hath begun a good work in you We'll perform
it until the day of Jesus Christ. Our prayer should be, Lord, please
do not give me what I think I want. Give me what I need, Jesus Christ. Some days I feel as though I'm
swinging an ax at a tree. Me and Bert was talking about
this recently. Every morning waking up, just chipping away
little by little, Sometimes I feel like my axe is made of cardboard
and the tree's made of iron. Sometimes I get angry at the
tree, but who made the tree thus? Sometimes one tree falls easily
and I rejoice for a moment only to realize there is an entire
forest to be cut down and I cannot escape this curse. Oh, how I
need a savior. Oh, how I need a substitute and
a surety to cause me to rest in him and his finished work
of salvation. We grow complacent in this world
because we do not look to Christ. We work to possess a shiny item
that cannot bring us joy. Christ is the only joy in this
life. Child of God, we are pilgrims and strangers in a dry and thirsty
land. There is no bread outside of
Christ. He is the only joy in this life. I need a savior to
continually say to me and to my heart, seek ye my face. Only
in Christ is there rest in this life and in the life to come.
He is all in all. I've got good news this morning.
If you're weary or you're heavy laden in Matthew chapter 11,
verse 28 through 30, he said, come into me, all you that are
labored and are heavy laden. I'll give you rest. Take my yoke
upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly in heart
and you shall find rest to your souls. My yoke is easy. and my
burden is light. Christ is the only rest you can
find. There's no reason to look anywhere else. So let's go back
to our text in Genesis chapter six, and we're going to look
at the ark just for a moment. Verse 14, Genesis 6, 14, make thee an ark
of gopher wood. Runes shall thou make in the
ark and shall pitch it within and without with pitch. Notice
that he says pitched within and without, and the word pitch,
the Hebrew word kefar, as Adam mentioned Wednesday night, means
literally atonement or covering. The scripture says in Isaiah
30 verse one, woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that
take counsel, but not of me, and that cover with a covering,
but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin. I wanna be
like David in Psalm 17 verse eight. Keep me as the apple of
thine eye, O Lord, and hide me under the shadow of thy wings.
We must be found in Christ the ark. Christ is the only covering. Christ is the covering for God's
elect. Second Corinthians chapter five
in verse 21, for he hath made him to be sin for us who knew
no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
We must be found in this ark. We must be found in Christ. In John chapter 10, verse 27
through 30, he said, my sheep hear my voice and I know them
and they follow me and I give unto them eternal life and they
shall. There it is again. I will and
they shall. I give unto them eternal life and they shall never
perish. Neither shall any man pluck them
from my hand. My father which gave them me
is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of
my father's hand. I and my father are one. All of the chosen people the
father gave to the son, the son successfully redeemed when he
offered his body and his blood to the father as our substitute,
as our surety. This is why saying Christ died
for everyone is blasphemy. Christ died for everyone, everybody
saved. Christ only died for his chosen people and whosoever Christ
died for is made perfectly righteous in him. This is the promise of
the covenant God. Turn with me to Hebrews chapter
10. Hebrews chapter 10 and verse
10, by the witch will, what will is he talking about here? Well,
in verse nine, he said, then said he low, I come to do that
will. Oh God, that's Christ talking
about the father. Now that will whose will God's
will. Verse 10, by the witch will, we are sanctified through
the offering of the body of Jesus Christ. Once for all. And every priest standeth daily
ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices which can
never take away sins. But this man, Jesus Christ, after
he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on
the right hand of God from henceforth expecting till his enemies be
made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected
forever them that are sanctified. where of the Holy Ghost also
is a witness to us for after that he had said before, this
is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith
the Lord. I will put my laws in their heart
and in their minds will I write them and their sins and iniquities
will I remember no more. Now where the remission, where
remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Having therefore boldness, having therefore, brethren, boldness
to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new
and living way, which he hath consecrated for us through the
veil, that is to say, his flesh. When Christ bowed his head and
said, it is finished, the veil in the temple was rent entwined
from top to bottom. Christ satisfied the sword of
justice and successfully redeemed all of the elect of God. Now
we can enter into the holiest by his blood. His flesh is this
veil that he's mentioning here. We must be found having his blood,
his obedience, his faith. We need him as our substitute.
We must be found in Christ the ark. Let's go back to Genesis. Genesis chapter 7 now. And the Lord said unto Noah,
verse 1, Genesis 7, 1. And the Lord said unto Noah,
Come thou and all thy house into the ark. For the I seen righteousness
before me in this generation, was he looking at Noah for this
righteousness? All that the Lord requires, the Son provides. He
was looking at Jesus Christ for this righteousness. He bid him
to come into the ark. And now skip down, if you would,
to verse 21. And this is after the rain happened. Verse 21,
and all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl
and of cattle and of beasts and of every creeping thing that
creepeth upon the earth and every man. And all in whose nostrils
was the breath of life all that was in the dry land died and
every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the
ground both man and cattle and the creeping things in the foul
of heaven and they were destroyed from the earth and Noah only
remained alive and they that were with him in the ark and
the waters prevailed upon the earth and hundred and fifty days
in these verses We find that when the Lord pours out his wrath
upon sin, sin is completely annihilated. We must be found in the ark so
that when the judgment comes, we will be saved. There is literally
a sign in Longwood, as I get off the exit on I-4 on the way
here, that says, God is not angry. That's what the sign says. And
I don't know what church affiliation that has to do with, but that
is what the sign says. This is a lie. from the pit of
hell. In Psalm 5, chapter 5, verse
5, it says, thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Men lie about who
God is and how he deals with sin. Men defies a God of them
own selves in their mind to offer themselves up to their selves.
But in Psalm chapter 7, verse 11, the Lord says, God judges
the righteous and God is angry with the wicked every day. There is no hope outside of this
ark. You must, we must be found in
this ark. In Micah chapter three, verse
four, he said, then shall they cry unto the Lord, but he will
not hear them. He will even hide his face from
them at that time as they have behaved themselves ill in their
doings. Be not deceived men and brethren.
God will judge sin. or he is not God. It's going
to rain the judgment of the Lord again upon this earth, but this
time it'll be fire and not water. The father sheathed the sword
of justice into his son and justice was satisfied. Those not found
in Christ will be judged according to their works, but those found
in Christ, the ark, will be judged according to His works. I need
to be found in this ark. Let's skip on down to chapter
8. And it says in chapter 8, verse
1, and God remembered Noah. I love this part. May Christ
remember me. Lord, leave me to my Lord, do
not leave me to myself or my own devices, my own vain imagination. Cause me to see Christ as the
only hope of my salvation. Cause me to see Christ as the
evidence of my salvation. Lord, don't let us look to ourselves.
The wording that he puts here, remembered Noah, is interesting. Did the Lord forget Noah and
then suddenly remember Noah? No. The Lord never forgot him,
and that's how he remembered him. He continually remembered
him. Our Lord doesn't forget. But there was one thing that
our Lord did forget, and it's found in Hebrews chapter 8 in
verse 12. And this is because of his promise
in the covenant of grace. Hebrews 8, 12 says, For I will
be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities. Will I remember no more? The Lord was satisfied when he
poured out his wrath upon Jesus Christ, and in his eyes, we literally
have never sinned. Christ satisfied the Father on
the elect's behalf. You're with me in chapter eight.
Let's look down here to verse number five. In verse number five, it says,
and the waters decreased continually until the 10th month, and in
the 10th month, on the first day of the month, were the tops
of the mountains seen. And it also tells us in chapter
seven, verse 24, that the waters prevailed 150 days. Five is the
number of grace. 150 days is five months. And
this is also found in the fifth verse. Our Lord delights in showing
grace and showing mercy to his people. And in verse six, it
says, it came to pass at the end of the 40 days that Noah
opened the window of the ark, which he had made. And he sent
forth a raven, which went forth to and fro until the waters were
dried up from off the earth. Also, he sent forth a dove from
him to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the
earth. But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot.
And she returned unto him in the ark, for the waters were
on the face of the whole earth. And he put forth his hand and
took her and pulled her in unto him unto the ark. And he stayed
yet another seven days. And again, he sent forth a dove
out of the ark And the dove came in to him in the evening. And
lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off. So Noah knew
that the waters were abated from off the earth. And he stayed
yet another seven days and sent forth the dove, which returned
not again unto him anymore." The dove is a type and shadow
of the Holy Spirit, as you know. And the olive branch is a type
and shadow of peace. Our Lord said, if I go not away,
the comforter cannot come. And thanks be to God, he did
not leave us comfortless. He sent the comforter to us.
Let's turn to Exodus chapter 23. Exodus chapter 23 in verse 20. He says, behold, I sent an angel
before thee to keep thee in the way and to bring thee into the
place which I have prepared. What's the place he prepared?
So many people says, and the Lord even quoted in my father's
house are many mansions. But how many songs have been
written over? I've got a mansion in glory. Christ said, I prepare
a place for you. He is that place. Christ is that
place. Behold, I sent an angel before
thee to keep thee in the way and to bring thee into the place
which I have prepared. Beware of him and obey his voice.
Provoke him not, for he will not pardon your transgression,
for my name is in him. But if thou shalt indeed obey
his voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to thine
enemies and an adversary unto thine adversaries. For mine angel
shall go before thee and bring thee unto the Amorites and the
Hyatites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hivites,
and the Jebusites, and will cut them off. Thou shalt not bow
to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works. Thou
shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.
And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread
and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the mists
of thee. The Lord sent his spirit to cause
us to look to him. We do not bow to the gods of
this world, as he mentions all of these acts that are through
here, the Amorites, the high tides, the parasites. We do not. Bow down to these gods, they
are the nonbelieving world, they are the flesh we contend with,
and they are the devil that cannot touch the elect of God unless
the Lord permits it. So many times, though, The Lord's
providence and provisions don't make sense. His purpose doesn't
make sense in my mind. If it did, I would have no need
of faith. The Lord gives faith to believe him. We don't understand
anything we believe. We just believe it because God
said it. Faith just believes God. Faith looks to Christ. Faith always rests in the finished
work of Jesus Christ. In verse 25, he says, ye shall
be He shall bless thy bread and thy water. And we know what he's
saying here. Who's the bread of life? Who's
the living water? It's Jesus Christ. He's saying,
I'll give you Christ and he shall sustain you and he shall keep
you and he shall be good enough for you. He shall be all that
you need. This is the promise of the covenant
God. Let's go back to Genesis eight. Genesis 8 in verse 20 and 20
through 22. And as soon as they got off the
ark, this is what Noah did. Genesis 8 20. And Noah built
an altar unto the Lord and took of every clean beast and of every
clean fowl and offered burnt offerings unto the Lord on the
altar. And the Lord smelt a sweet savor
and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground
anymore for man's sake. For the image, imagination of
man is of man's heart is evil from his youth, neither will
I again smite any more everything living as I have done. While
the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest, cold and heat, summer
and winter, and day and night shall not cease. When Christ
died upon the cross, the scripture says in Ephesians chapter five
and verse two, he was offered up as a sweet smelling savor
unto the father. Sweet smelling savor also means
a savor of rest. The father was satisfied with
the son's offering. Therefore Christ sat down on
the right hand of God in rest. May we enter into his finished
work and rest in him. The last thing I want to look
at here is in Genesis chapter nine and verse number 11. Genesis
9 11. And I will establish my covenant
with you. This is the father talking to
Noah. Neither shall all flesh be cut off anymore by the waters
of the flood. Neither shall there anymore be
a flood to destroy the earth. And God said, this is the token
of the covenant which I made. I make between me and you and
every living creature that is with you for perpetual generations. I do set my bow in the cloud
and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the
earth. And it shall come to pass when I bring a cloud over the
earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud. And I will
remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every
living creature of all flesh, and the water shall no more become
a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud,
and I will look upon it that I may remember the everlasting
covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh
that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, this
is the token of the covenant which I have established between
me and all flesh that is upon the earth. Now, some people may
take that translation right there. Every living creature that is
upon the face of the earth and say, well, that omits election. Then it's for everybody. Well,
who was all the flesh that was on the earth at that time? It
was Noah, the elect man of God and his family, the elect. That's
all that was on the earth at that time. And that's what the
Lord means when he said that. And he says here, that this is the token of the
covenant. There is many tokens of the Lord's
mercy and grace all throughout nature, but very few can be compared
to the splendor of the rainbow. Man tries to pervert everything
that the Lord does and everything that the Lord has given him,
even the rainbow. But thanks be to God. God is
God and man is man. Every time I see a rainbow, my
heart leaps. because the rainbow is a token
of the promise of the covenant God. Before the rain, Noah had
received the covenant and after the rain, Noah received the promise,
but we have both in Christ. He actually successfully saved
all of his people and give us the promise and the
covenant. The only reason there is a rainbow is because judgment
was executed. The wrath of God poured out,
and the only survivors were those that were found in the ark, the
elect of God. Child of God, we have these tokens
of his promise, but we do not look to things, we look through
the eye of faith. May he cause us to rejoice in
Christ's finished work every day, and remember the promise
