Well, it's good to be with you
and once again, we thank the Lord for his infinite mercy,
grace, compassion. I'm gonna ask you to take your
Bibles and turn with me to Genesis 45, Genesis chapter 45. I'd like to look at verses 16
to 20, Genesis. You know, as we consider the
Word of God, we consider those things that we know are so. These things are so. The Lord has set them, and He
set them for our instruction, He set them for our comfort. He set them for His glory, for
our good. And he's been pleased in this
scripture that we're going to look at, Psalm 45, starting in
verse 16 in a moment. And he's been pleased up until
this point to hide some things from the people of his affection. He's been pleased to hide some
things from those that were in the court of Joseph. He'd been pleased to providentially
order all the things of their walk. But now we're going to
hear something of the beauty of his way, of his thoughts. Though he's hidden these things
from the people there in the court. Now we're going to hear
the words from Joseph, from the mouth of this saint. And it's going to cause his brothers,
when they hear what he's got to say, it's going to cause them
great fear at first. But then, as they contemplate
what has happened, they're going to find great joy. He's not told them up until this
point who he is, but now he's told him. He said, I'm your brother. I'm Joseph. Joseph. And with that revelation, the
scripture says in verse 16 of Genesis chapter 45, and the fame
thereof was heard in Pharaoh's house saying, Joseph's brethren
are come and it pleased Pharaoh well and his servants. Now here's a beautiful revelation. Here's this object of God's mercy
and he's been pleased to let them know while his heart's been
tender and they hear the words of this blessed saint that God's
been pleased to reveal his will through. And having revealed
himself unto his brothers, now he's going to just let out everything
that they've not been able to perceive. The fame of Joseph
was heard. Now that's a precious consideration
as we realize that here's this object of God's mercy. And He's
going to set forth now love and compassion. Up to this point,
He's been hard on them. He's been secretive with them. But now, with eyes from above
to see the glory, they're going to be able to perceive the truth
of who He actually is. Now, all these things now are
going to be just precious to him. Now we're told that it pleased
Pharaoh to show forth the fame of Joseph in Egypt concerning
the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. And he says in verses 17 to 19,
and Pharaoh said unto Joseph, say unto thy brethren, this do
ye. laid your beast and go get you
into the land of Canaan and take your father and your household
and come to me and I will give you the good of Egypt. You shall eat the fat of the
land. Now thou art commanded to do this. Take your wagons
of the land of Egypt, your little ones, your wives and bring your
father and come. Now here's a beautiful picture. Here we have everything that
was to be provided, everything that they would need. Joseph
is telling them, he said, now here's what I want you to do.
I want you to take everything that will be needful for this
trip. I want you to go and tell your brethren, Go into the land, take your father,
come to me. I'm going to give you everything. But here's the blessing of this.
Whenever Joseph was told, he's under the command of Pharaoh
and he's being told, he said, this is what I want you to do. This is what I want you to say.
This is the king of the land. I want you to go and you take
what I've given you and you distribute it to the people. Here we see
in type the blessing of the Lord Jesus Christ set forth as a picture
of Pharaoh. And I want you to take what I've
provided and you say to all of those of the land, this is what
Pharaoh has given us. And he said, I want you to do
one thing that's very, very needful concerning, and it's found in
that last verse that we'll look at this morning, verse 20. He
told them in verse 20, he said, I want you to regard not your
stuff for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours. Now, you know, whenever we come
to a to a point in our lives, and we're walking through this
world, we're listening for the leadership of the Lord Jesus
Christ. And Pharaoh had sent a word through
Joseph, but here's what he's wanting them to understand. Everything
that you have, I've given you. Everything that you have, I've
provided. But I want you to do something.
With all of this stuff that I've provided in verse 20, regard
not your stuff. Regard not that which is given
you, but don't set your heart on it. Regard not, don't pity,
is actually what it means. Don't look upon with compassion. to your stuff, to your utensils,
to the things that I provided. Now you know this, the Lord has
given us all things. All things needful that we need. Everything that we have in this
world, He's given us. We've got it. And He's given
us this stuff, this stuff, regard not your stuff. He's given us
this stuff by grace. But we need to be very careful
about something. This was the whole crux of what
I was considering when I was looking at these scriptures this
morning. All that we need, the Lord will provide. You've gotten
here this morning, you got in your car, you came over, you
drove, you're thankful, we've got health, we've got these things
that we've got. But let me tell you what we need
to be very, very careful of regarding this stuff. Regarding stuff. Here we're surrounded with everything
that is perishing. This life, I've said this before,
and this has been come to bear heavily on my heart recently. We are prone to look at the things
of God's provision. And I'm telling you, before we
know it, our hearts are drawn to these things. We began to look at that which
is passing away. Beloved, rest assured, the Lord
Jesus Christ has eternally purposed to provide all that we'll need
in this world. We will have it. But these words
that are set forth here by Joseph are words for us this morning
to regard with care because I'm telling you, we're prone to forget. What we need to remember this
morning is this. Everything's passing away. Everything's
going. This world is not gonna last.
These things are fading. And the Spirit of God moved upon
this man, Joseph. Actually, he was speaking through
Pharaoh at the time, but Joseph was the one he was speaking concerning. And he said, don't regard your
stuff. Don't look upon these things
with pleasure and regard. Look to the Lord Jesus Christ. Look unto Him. Look unto Him,
keep your eyes upon Him, for these things are fading away.
I know that this message has been very, very short, but I
have this word from the Lord today. Regard not your stuff. Don't look to these things as
if they'll be here tomorrow, because they may not. I pray
that God bless this to our hearts for Christ's sake. Amen. Amen. All right.
