All right, let's take our Bibles
and turn back to Genesis chapter 15. Genesis 15. And I would like to just pick
up right where we left off last time. The Lord had promised Abram a
seed. Abram was without seed. Abram had told the Lord, I only
have this Eleazar. He's the only heir I have. And
the Lord said, he's not going to be your heir. Your heir is
going to come from your own loins. The Lord brought him forth. He
said, you look at the stars. If you can count those stars,
then you'll know the number of your seed. The scripture says,
Abram believed God, and he counted it to him for righteousness. He accounted it, he imputed it,
he called it to be so. That's what it means. He said,
this is so. You're righteous. In verse 7, he said unto him,
I'm the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to
give thee this land to inherit it." Abram believed God and the
Lord confirmed it more, deeper. He said, I'm the Lord that brought
thee out of Ur of the Chaldees to give this land to inherit
it. Men aren't the moving factor
concerning God's will. God is. I brought you out. I gave you this land. Almighty God has mercy and compassion
on whomsoever he will. God chooses to show mercy. The
Lord Jesus Christ died bearing the penalty of God's sheep putting
away their guilt, casting their sins as far as the East is from
the West, and the Spirit of God calls them out of darkness, grants
them faith, and they believe God. But even in the midst of
God's promise, Abram asked, while totally believing
God, that which was truly burdening his heart. He said in verse 8,
Lord God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? Now this is the question that
every believer wants to have confirmed again and again and
again. How shall I know? that I have an inheritance with
God. How shall I know that? Abram believed God. How shall
I know that I'm one of yours? How do I know that? How can this
be so? And the scripture says, verses
9 and 10, and he said unto him, Take men heifer of three years
old, and a she-goat of three years old, and a ram of three
years old, and a turtle dove and a young pigeon. And he took
unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each
piece one against another. But the birds divided he not. when Almighty God is pleased
to reveal again, and again, and again. And we all need it, because we're
all prone to forget. As I've said before, you tell
me again, tell me again, I want to hear it one more time. how the Lord's put away my guilt.
Tell me one more time how it is that I am justified before
God. Tell me one more time how the
Lord put away my guilt and I stand now accepted in the blood. How is it? Whereby shall I know? that I
shall inherit every time the Lord brings us back to the sacrifice. He brings us back every time
to the cross. How shall I know? It comes always
back. Here is the foundation. Not a man's free will decision. He takes him back to the cross.
God, Brother Scott used to say this, God's gonna have to do
something for himself before he'll do anything for us. That's
right, that's right. Almighty God chose to show mercy
to Abraham and all like him, God's elect. How can God be just
and justify a sinner? take a heifer, take a she-goat,
take a ram, take a turtledove, and a young pigeon. And Abraham
did that. And he divided it, laid it on
the altar. You take, now look at this, take
from me. It's not for you. It's not for
you. This is for the Lord. You take
from me, God's got to be satisfied. God's got to be appeased. Almighty
God shows mercy, but not at the expense of his justice. I'm a
just God and a savior, but God's going to be satisfied. Sin's
going to be dealt with. You take a heifer, she go ram
that heifer. What was being set forth? Why
did he pick those animals? Well, I'm not going to foolishly
stand here and tell you that I know the fullness of any of
this. I don't. But I can tell you the
little bit that the Lord's given me a little bit of light on.
Take me a heifer. Turn to Numbers 19 verses 1 to
3. Numbers chapter 19 verses 1 to 3. Take me a heifer. Numbers 19 verses 1 to 3, what
was being set forth? How shall I know? How is it,
Lord, that you will take for yourself, that you'll satisfy
yourself? Lord, what have you done for
me? What have you done for me? and giving me an assurance that
I have an inheritance with you. Numbers 19, 1-3, the Lord spake
unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, This is the ordinance of the
law, which the Lord hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children
of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer, without spot, wearing
no blemish, and upon which never came yoke. And ye shall give
her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without
the camp, and one shall slay her before his face." That red
heifer, it was a red heifer. It was a heifer that was the
color of the earth. It was a red heifer, it was the
color that was the root word. That red right there is the root
word from which comes the name Adam. It was a red heifer. Lord, what did you do for me?
What have you done for me? To give me an inheritance that
I can know. Here's what it is. Almighty God
was made flesh. You take a red heifer. Here's
the sacrifice, but it's a red heifer. The color of the earth. That root word from which comes
Adam, man. You take that red heifer, and
you take a she-goat. Turn back to Numbers chapter
15. Numbers 15, verses 27-28. Numbers 15, verses 27-28. And if any soul sin through ignorance,
then he shall bring a she-goat of the first year for a sin offering,
and the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth
ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the Lord, to
make an atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him. You
take a red heifer, A picture of the Word made flesh,
Word made man. He took upon himself the form
of sinful flesh, made a red effort. And a she-goat for the sin of
ignorance. I don't know what I've done before
God. I don't perceive the depth of
my rebellion before God. I need God to take care of my
sins of commission, my sins of ignorance. And he said, then
also I want you to take a ram. Turn to Genesis chapter 22. You
take a ram. Genesis 22. This is when Abraham
was going to go up, his son, they were going to worship God.
What was he going to do? He's going to offer Isaac. That's
what he's going to do. He's going to offer Isaac unto
the Lord for a burnt offering. What was the burnt offering?
That was that sweet-smelling savor of the obedience of Christ. That's what it is. That's the
burnt offering. That was totally for the Lord. There were some
sacrifices, you know, that the priest could eat. He could eat
part of that. But not the burnt offering. That
was totally the Lord's sweet-smelling savor, burnt offering. You offer
your son, your only son, unto me for a burnt offering. Abraham
told him, he told the servants, he said, you guys stay here.
The lad and I are going to go yonder and we're going to worship
God. We're going to worship God. Isaac
said, Father, here's the wood, here's the fire, where's the
lamb? My son God will provide himself
a lamb. That being said, Abram Abraham
raises his hand to slay his son, and God stops him. He said, Abraham,
don't harm the son. I know, I know of your obedience. And Abraham turned, scripture
says, In Genesis chapter 22 and verse 13, Abram lifted up his
eyes and looked, and behold, behind him a ram caught in a
thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the
ram and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his
son. What has the Lord done? Wherein
shall I know? that I'm going to inherit what
you have. How does a believer know God
was made flesh and dwelt among us and satisfied God, obediently
walked before God as the federal head of his people? died for
their sins of commission against God, died for all their sins,
sins of ignorance as their substitute. But also Abraham was told back
in Genesis chapter 15, he was told, he said, now you take these
out, how shall I know? You take a heifer, verse 9, 3
years old, she-goat, 3 years old, ram, 3 years old, and a
turtle dove and a young pigeon. Now this turtle dove and a young
pigeon, I want you to look at 2 scriptures. Number 1, Luke
2. Luke chapter 2, verse 22-24. Luke chapter 2, verse 22-24.
Here was Mary bringing in the young child Jesus. Luke 2 verse 22-24, and it says,
And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses
were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem to present him
to the Lord, as it is written in the law of the Lord. Every
male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord, and
to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the
law of the Lord, a pair of turtledoves and two young pigeons." Now,
concerning that sacrifice, I want you to turn back to Leviticus
12, Leviticus chapter 12, verse 6 to 8. Why was it a turtle dove
and a pigeon? Why that? Leviticus chapter 12,
verse 6 to verse 8. When the days of her purifying
are fulfilled, for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring a
lamb of the first year for a burnt offering and a young pigeon for
a turtle dove for a sin offering unto the door of the tabernacle
of the congregation under the priest, who shall offer it before
the Lord and make an atonement for her. She shall be cleansed
of the issue of her blood. This is the law of her that hath
borne a male or a female, and if she be not able, to bring
a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons,
the one for the burnt offering, the other for a sin offering,
and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall
be clean." This young turtle dove, this young pigeon, that
was the sacrifice for the poorest, for those that couldn't afford.
And here the Lord set forth for all those made poor in spirit. He who was rich was made poor. Those that he's everlasting love
might be made rich in him, rich in him. So here's the saying,
how shall I know God's going to provide himself being made
flesh to live far and die far, the sins, the sins of ignorance.
And we're all ignorant. Who could say how much, what
have we done today? We have no idea what we've done
before God today. All have sinned to come short
of the glory of God. He paid for that. And you bring
around for the substitute and a turtle dove and a young pigeon
for the poorest of the poor. And the scripture says, after
he had done that, In verse 10, he took unto him all these, and
divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another. But the birds he divided not. Now, Abram divided that heifer,
the she-goat, the ram according to the manner of the sacrifice
of the Lord, signifying without question the broken body and
the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. And he took those pieces
and he divided them and he placed them, laid them one against each
other, opposite, facing each other. And later revealed that
why this was done like this. I want you to take your Bibles,
now understand what's being done here. He cut these pieces. He cut the heifer, the she-goat,
and the ram. He cut those three. The birds
were going to find out he didn't cut them up. We'll look at that
in just one second. But he cut these animals up,
split them right in the middle, laid them up on the altar. Why? Why? Turn with me to Leviticus
chapter 34, I'm sorry, Jeremiah. Jeremiah 34. Jeremiah chapter
34. And let me tell you what's being
said. Read it and then I'll just, in
a couple of words, Lord willing, I'll tell you why, why this was
so. This, this is, we're going to
read this about the way in which a covenant was made concerning
the freeing of servants or slaves. This was the way that a covenant
was going to be ratified and it was going to be by sacrifice. Now listen to what it's saying.
Jeremiah chapter 34, I'm going to read verses 8 to 22. I want
to read the whole part so we'll understand what's being said.
This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the Lord. After
that, the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people
which were at Jerusalem to proclaim liberty unto them. that every
man should let his manservant and every man his maidservant,
being a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, go free, that none should serve
himself to them to wit of a Jew his brother." Now he was going
to say, now look, this was the law of the Lord. There was a
certain amount of time which a Hebrew servant could serve.
And then after that the Lord said, you're going to let them
go. You're going to free them. Now when all the princes and
all the people had entered into the covenant, heard that every
man should let his manservant and every one his maidservant
go free, that none should serve themselves of them anymore, then
they obeyed and let them go. But afterward they turned and
caused the servants and the handmaids whom they had let go free to
return and brought them into subjection for servants and for
handmaids. Then the word of the Lord came
to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel,
I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them
forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen,
saying, At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother
in Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee. And when he hath served
thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee. But your
fathers hearken not unto me, neither incline their ear. And
ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight in proclaiming
liberty every man to his neighbor, and ye had made a covenant before
me in the house in which is called by my name." He said, you heard
my word. And a covenant was made, and
you're saying, okay, we're going to do this, we're going to obey
it, and I want you to watch how they do this. And you turned
and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, every
man his handmaid, whom you had set at liberty, at their pleasure
to return, and brought them into subjection to be unto you for
servants and for handmaids. Therefore, Thus saith the Lord,
you've not hearkened unto me in proclaiming liberty to every
one, to his brother, and every man his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim
a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence,
to the famine, and I will make you to be removed into all the
kingdoms of the earth. And I will give the men that
have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the
words of the covenant, which they had made before me when
they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts. He
said, now here's what you did. There was a certain way that
you were going to make this covenant and here's how you were going
to make it. You're going to take these animals, you're going to
cut them top to bottom, and you're going to take them and you're
going to put them facing each other and there's going to be
a space between them. And you're going to come and there's going
to be a covenant. You're going to make a promise
to me and it's between these animals right here. And that
covenant is going to say, you're saying unto me that you're going
to obey. And you're going to let these
Hebrews go free. And you did it. You entered into
that covenant. And you walked between the pieces.
And then you reneged, is what he's saying. You went back on
it. After you walked through, you
passed between the parts. Verse 18. The princes of Judah,
the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, the priests, all the
people of the land which passed between the parts of the calf. I will even give them into the
hand of their enemies. and into the hand of them that
seek their life, and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto
the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth. And
Zedekiah the king of Judah and his princes will I give into
the hand of their enemies, into the hand of them that seek their
life, and into the hand of the king and Babylon's army, which
are gone up from you. Behold, I will command, saith
the Lord, and cause them to return to this city. And they shall
fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire. And I
will make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant."
Now, what he said is this. He said, I want in setting forth
you to understand, Abram, how is it that I shall know that
I shall inherit the land? Well, you take a heifer, you
take a she-goat, you take a ram, You split them. And you take
the parts and you lay them according to what was revealed in the book
of Jeremiah. This is going to be a covenant between me and
you. I'm making this covenant. And I'm telling you right now,
I'm going to set you free. And I'm not going to renege on
my covenant. I'm not going to go back on my covenant. You go
back on that covenant, I'm going to cause you to fall into bondage. This covenant is made with God
Almighty between God Himself and His four people. You take
to me these animals and you split them and you put those pieces
down there. That heifer, she-goat, ram, all
setting forth the broken body again of the Lord Jesus Christ. But those birds, back in Genesis
chapter 15, it says, but the birds, in the latter part of
verse 10, the birds divided he not. And while we behold those
first animals that were split, the pieces laid for that covenant,
For the confirmation of that covenant, I'm going to set you
free. That's the covenant. He said
the birds, they didn't. They didn't. Why? It set forth
one other part that we know concerning the Lord Jesus Christ. No bones
of his were broken. All of that, he did lay down
his life. His blood was spilled. But he take for the poorest of
the poor, you take that turtle dove, you take that pigeon, you
lay up there and don't you split them. not one bone, setting forth
his people, all of his bones, not one of his people, his bones
shall be broken. But even while we behold the
obedience of Abram as he's doing just exactly what the Lord had
impressed his heart without a doubt to do, because that law wasn't
even given until years later, but Abram is doing under divine
inspiration. There's no other explanation
for this, for him to know to do that. God just directed His
heart to do it. He's setting forth the glory
of His precious Son, and Abram does what he does according to
God's inspiration in him. But the Scripture says while
we observe his obedience, we also observe the continued attacks
that's always rendered against the sacrifice. I want you to
look at verse 11. And when the fowls came down
upon the carcasses, Abram drove them away. While he was doing
just exactly what he was doing to the glory of God. in the exhibition
of God's covenant with his people. How can I know? You look at this
covenant. How shall I know that I'll inherit
it? Look at the covenant. Look at the sacrifice. That's
how you know. This is my satisfaction right
here. And here were these birds, ravenous
birds is when you look at the explanation of it. Here they
were. What were they after? Abraham? No, they were after
the sacrifice. Is that not the fowls that we
behold even today? These ravenous birds that picture
all that would seek to destroy the glory of the Lord in His
sacrifice for His people. This is the issue of false religion. They can't get to the Lord, they
hate the Lord. But they can see his people. That's why they hate
God's people. But what is the attack against
what we believe, the one who we believe? It's his sovereignty. He laid down his life. That's
what that heifer she-goat rammed those pigeons, turtledoves. That's
what that picture is. God's sovereign right. God laying
down his life for the setting forth of his people, for the
release of his people. Because he chose, I'll have mercy
on whom I'll have mercy. I'll have compassion. And these
ravenous birds, they're coming down on the carcass. But the
scripture says, but Abram drove them away. He drove them away.
Now that's an amazing word. He drove them away. It's only
used three times in all the scripture. He drove them away. It's a word
that means to blow. to blow. That's what it means.
He drove them away. Here's the other two times that
this script, that that word is used. It said in Psalm 147, 18,
he sendeth out his word and melteth them. He causeth his wind to
blow and the waters flow. Isaiah 40 verse 7, the grass
withereth, the flower fadeth, because the spirit of the Lord
bloweth upon it. Surely the people is grass. So by interpretation of scripture,
letting scripture interpret scripture, we know that when Abram drove
them away, these scavenger birds, these birds of prey, he did it
not by his own power. But in the power of God Almighty,
by the shield of faith, resisting the devil, and according to God's
word, he will flee from you. He was driving them away, but
it was a picture. God used a word there to show
where the power is. Not by my mind, but by my spirit,
saith the Lord. So in verse 12, and when the
sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram. And lo, a horror
of great darkness fell upon him. Now here the Lord causes the
same kind of deep sleep to befall Abram that Adam experienced when
the Lord removed Adam's rib to form Eve. Deep sleep. It wasn't a sleep where we just
touch and wake him up. It was a deep, deep sleep. And
in this deep sleep, now this is a vision. Remember, the scripture
says in verse 1 of chapter 15, after these things the word of
the Lord came unto Abram in a vision. Now he's awake, but he's seeing
things by his senses that normally he couldn't see. So it's still
a vision. He's seeing and the Lord's speaking
to him in a vision. And the sun's going down, verse
12, and a deep sleep fell upon Abram. And in this deep sleep,
there was a horror. of great darkness that fell upon
him. And this deep, deep sleep and
horror was that Abram was able to behold in this vision what
his heirs, those that would come forth from him, your seed, your
seed, they're going to be here. What they were going to have
to pass through concerning God's delivering them in this life. They were going to go through
some suffering. They were going to suffer. And Abram saw it. And what he saw concerning what
his people would suffer, what God's people would suffer, was
a great horror to him. The Lord is going to mention
a part of that in just a second. We'll look at that. But I think
about those that went through this world. They were hung, they
were beat, they were sawn asunder. Scripture says this world wasn't
even worthy of them. All of the trials and the tribulation
burned at the stake. But listen, Abram was able to
see that and it was a horrible thing to him. The Scripture says
in 2 Timothy 3.12, Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ
Jesus shall suffer persecution. Philippians 1.29, For unto you
it's given. in behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but
also to suffer for his sake. So this was, Abram saw this,
and he realized what was going on, and then the scripture says
that the Lord spoke to him in this vision and began to tell
him of parts of what was going to be suffered. He said, verse
13, 14, he said unto Abram, no assurity, that thy seed shall
be a stranger in a land that's not theirs. and shall serve them,
and they shall afflict them 400 years. And also that nation whom
they shall serve will I judge, and afterwards shall they come
out with great substance." So he saw this. He saw something
of the horror. Observing in that vision of that
horror, he was depressed and brought down, but the Lord didn't
leave him there. The Lord, to not let him lose
hope, gives him some consolation in the midst of that promised
trials of his own. He said, that nation whom they
serve, I'm going to judge. And afterward, they shall come
out. with great, great substance. And the scripture says in verse
15, and thou, thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace, and thou
shalt be buried in a good old age. Again, we see the promise
of the surety that the Lord is not going to leave us. Now, we're
going to go through some trials. There's been some sufferings
that's been much, much greater, I know, than that which I've
ever suffered. But I can tell you this, all
God's people suffer in this world. And the Lord knows how to temper,
but He said, listen, all that you're going through, I'm going
to avenge you. I'm going to take care of this.
I'm going to judge those that have caused you to suffer. But
for you, Abram, like all of God's people, you're going to die in
peace. Now that's a comfort. Die in peace. According to the
Word of God, we're going to die in the faith. Die trusting God. That's the only way I can have
any peace. Dying. Dying that when I come to the
end of this life, that the Lord is not going to leave me. You're
kept by the power of God through faith. The Lord said, you're
not going to quit believing. You're not going to quit believing.
Peter, Satan has desired to have you and sift you as wheat, but
I prayed for you that your faith fail not. that your faith fail
not. So we learn that every trial,
every trouble, every affliction, sorrow that comes our way has
been sent by the loving hand of Him that is too wise to do
wrong and too merciful to have His people suffer without a cause. There's always a good reason. Romans 8.28. All things, and
we know all things, work together for good to them that love God. So the nation of Israel would
suffer in Egypt for 400 years. They're going to be tried, they're
going to be proven to be the Lord's, kept by His powerful
hand of mercy, just like we are in the midst of this world of
iniquity, and they were going to come out victoriously. In
Christ, in the Lord. Then in verse 16, he said, but
in the fourth generation it shall come hither again for the iniquity
of the Amorites is not yet full. Now that's an amazing passage
of scripture. What he's saying is that the
Lord promised after 400 years, he said, My people are going to come back
after being in bondage in Egypt. They're going to come back to
the land of Canaan. You know how the Lord brought them out.
A period of time that's going to completely correspond with
the expelling of the Amorites that were here in Canaan while
they were in Egypt for 400 years. They're going to stay there While
the Lord's teaching them and sustaining them, the Amorites
that are over here, the Lord has allowed them to be there
until the time of God's choosing to expel them because of their
wickedness. What they've done in rebelling
against God, God's going to judge. But he's not going to judge it
until his time, until the time of the Amorites is full. Then
he's going to take them out and bring his people in. The Lord
determines the time. How long does the Lord leave
the rebels against him in this world? Until God says it's enough. That's when he takes it out,
you think. Somebody has just notoriously rebelling against
God, and I think, but for the grace of God, I'd be doing the
same thing. And here they are doing the same things that I've
done myself, and the Lord had mercy on me, called me out, and
the Lord leaves someone else doing just what I was doing,
I was doing what they were doing, and He leaves them here and leaves
them here and leaves them here. Why? Until the time that He said,
because He's going to do exactly as He pleased in the army of
heaven among the inhabitants of the earth. So, He said in
the fourth generation, they shall come out hither again, Because
the iniquity, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. And the scripture says, and it
came to pass that when the sun went down and it was dark, behold
a smoking furnace and a burning lamp that passed between those
pieces. Now here's the same sacrifice
that Abram took, split those animals, put them in When he
said they put them together, there was a space between them.
That's according to Jeremiah 34, where you could walk between
them. And it says, in that vision, the sun going down, it was dark,
and what he saw was a smoking furnace and a burning lamp that
passed between those pieces. Now, again, Abram, like us, here
he is walking by faith. And in the midst of the darkness
of his not knowing what God is going to do, what God is going
to lead him through, what the Lord has promised, He said, you
are going to inherit, your seed is going to inherit. You are
going to die in a good old age, you are going to die in peace.
But he's going to have to walk every day. He don't know what's
going to happen tomorrow. We don't know what's going to
happen tomorrow. We don't know. So there's a great darkness. But behold, that smoking furnace. What is that? That smoking furnace. I'm going to wrap this up. That's
a confirmation, a promise from God that there's going to be
afflictions in this life until we get to the end of it. Let
me show you something. Read Isaiah 48.10. Isaiah 48.10. Here's the promise
of what we're going to endure until we come to the end of this
life. All that will live godly in Christ Jesus, you're going
to suffer persecution. Isaiah 48.10. Behold, I have
refined thee, but not with silver, I've chosen thee in the furnace
of affliction. This is how God chooses his people.
This is how he refines them. This is how he teaches them.
This is how he guides them. Here's what you're going to do.
There's going to be, in the midst of my covenant to show you mercy,
there's going to be a smoking furnace. That's just the way
it's going to be. You're going to have trouble.
But also there's a burning lamp. a burning lamp, that guiding
light of God's word that orders our steps. David said in Psalm
119, 105, thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto
my path. Is this not so? That while we
go through this world and we suffer the afflictions that the
Lord obviously providentially orders, and they're tough, they're
grievous. The apostle Paul said, No, you
know, no affliction is anything other than grievous for the moment.
But then there's that guiding light, and we know this, the
Lord's with me. The Lord's not going to leave
me. He's not going to forsake me. That smoke and furnace and
burning lamp that passed between those pieces is what it said,
obviously, according to the good pleasure and the covenant of
God's mercy. The Lord allows all this. And then in the last
few verses, the Lord reveals the exact borders of his inheritance
for his people, meaning all that the promises of God has set forth
for his people are yea and amen. This is the way it's going to
be. This is what you're going to have. He's going to give them the borders
of their land. But this is the setting forth.
of the extent of God's promise to his people, who are his heirs,
joint heirs with Christ. Here's what he said, in the same
day, 18, the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying unto thy seed,
have I given this land from the river of Egypt unto the great
river of the river Euphrates, the Kenites, the Kenizzites,
the Kadmonites, the Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaims, Amorites,
Canaanites, Girgashites, and the Jebusites. All that opposes
God's people. All that opposes God's people
is going to be delivered out. God's going to take God. I'm
going to judge them. I'm going to judge them. You're going to
die in peace. How shall I know? How shall I
know that I shall inherit it? You look at the sacrifice. You
look at the sacrifice. This is what I've done for myself.
I've pleased myself in the person of my son, and I'm going to show
you mercy for my glory and your good. Amen. OK.
