Alright, let's take our Bibles
once again and turn to the book of Job. Job chapter 19. Job 19. I'm going to actually be looking
at verses 25 to 27, but what I'm going to do, I'm going to skip two pages of notes, and
I'm going to tell you what happened. There was a man, the scripture
said, whose name was Job. He was a perfect man, before
God in Christ, perfect. He was just. He was a man that
walked rightly before God Almighty and Christ and before others.
He was a fair man. But God was pleased to send loving
chastisement to Job, whom the Lord loveth, he chasteneth. And Almighty God used Satan to
take everything from that man, took his children, took his possessions,
took everything, had his wife left in one day. And when Job maintained his integrity
before God and did not accuse God with folly, didn't accuse
God foolishly, his wife even said to him, why don't you curse
God and die? And he told her, he said, You're
speaking of the foolish one. Shall we receive good at the
hand of the Lord and not evil? Almighty God allowed three so-called
friends to come to Job and all three of them reprimanded him. Told him, said, you know what,
obviously you're getting just exactly what you deserve. God
Almighty, took your kids, I'm sure they were probably guilty.
They deserved what they got. And Joe asked them, sought them,
said, can't you have mercy? He said, if you were in my shoes,
he said, I'd speak kindly to you. Here you are reprimanding
me. He said, what kind of friends
are you treating me like this? He said, the Lord sent this. Don't you understand? God sent
this to me. And they continued to rail on
him and have such disrespect before Job. And then Job justified
himself in this sense. I know that what I've received
of the Lord has been sent me For my good and God's glory." When it was all said and done
before it was over, God Almighty told those three so-called friends,
He said those that had so much to say against Job, He said,
I'm going to tell you something. If Job doesn't pray for you,
I'm going to kill you for your disrespect that you showed him. But while they were showing Job
disrespect, By faith, Job gives one of the greatest exclamations
of a man's submission to the good pleasure of God's chastening
hand. Four things Job declared in Job
chapter 19 concerning his hope before God. In the midst of all
these trials, now you think about it, lost everything, and he was
struck with balls. Scraped himself with pottery.
A man, he was a mighty man. He was a wealthy man. And he's
reduced to nothing. Nothing. Took everything from
him. And left him with one rebellious
wife. And here's Job, and this is what
he said. Verse 25. I know that my Redeemer
liveth. and that he shall stand at the
latter day upon the earth. And though after my skin worms
destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God, whom I
shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold and not another,
though my reins be consumed within me." Four things that every believer
knows, and I've entitled this message A good profession of
faith. This is a profession of faith
in the Lord Jesus Christ. Job said, I know, and when he
said my Redeemer, the word is kinsman Redeemer. I know that
my kinsman Redeemer liveth. Job knew by divine revelation,
number one, that he had a kinsman Redeemer. He knew by God's grace
that Almighty God had taught him, there is one that can and
has redeemed you. There's one that has the right
to redeem. One. We lost our inheritance
in Adam's fall. And we were born into this world
spiritual bankrupt rebels against God and no way out of this mess. But according to God's everlasting
covenant of grace, Almighty God has a Redeemer, a Lamb. for his people, God's
lamb. And he is ours, being the elect
of God. And I've said before, how do
I know, how can I know that I'm one of God's elect? It speaks
of elect, God's elect. You were chosen, chosen founder. God hath elected you to salvation,
chosen you to salvation. If God had not left us a remnant, an election of people. We'd all been like Sodom and
Gomorrah. How can I know? Now listen, let me tell you.
Let me tell you how a man can know, a woman can know. They
believe God. They believe Him. They believe
Him and walk before God, believing God. Job said, I know that my
Redeemer I know that I was born a sinner. I know this. I'm a desperately
wicked, helpless sinner. I don't have any faith of myself
to exercise. I don't have a free will. How
do you know? God told me I don't have a free
will. John 1 verse 13, which we're born, not of blood, not
of the will of the flesh, not of the will of man, but of God.
I know that my Redeemer liveth, my kinsman Redeemer. Well, Pat, how did I become his
kin? He's kin to me. How did I become
his kin? That's what I want to know. Well,
first of all, Almighty God chose a people out of the mass of humanity. Now you know that's so. You know
that's so. Those in Revelation 5 that pray,
throw the crowns and say, you're worthy to take the book. Thou
has redeemed us out of every nation and kindred and tribe
and tongue. You have. You did that. How do I know that
I am His kin? How do I know? I believe that
Almighty God has chosen a people to be sons. Where did you get
that? Well, Ephesians chapter 1, the
scripture declares, Ephesians 1, listen to this, having predestinated
us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself according
to the good pleasure of His will. God was pleased to make us sons. Sons. Well, how long have we been His
sons? Before the foundation of the
world. Listen to this, Galatians 4.6, And because ye are sons,
God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts,
crying, Abba, Father. Were they sons? Were we sons
before God sent the Spirit of His Son to us? Were we sons before? Yeah, lost sons. Unregenerated
sons, but sons. Listen to this. We're His kin
in electing grace. God predestinated us unto the
adoption of children. made us sons, and because we're
sons, God sent forth the spirit of His Son. Listen to this. We're kin. In time, He was made
flesh. Listen to this scripture. Made
like unto His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful
high priest in things pertaining to God to make reconciliation
for the sin of the people. We're kin. Ken in electing grace. Ken in His being made flesh like
us. He's Ken to us. Real flesh. And this kinsman, Job said, I
know that my near kinsman in electing grace and in Him being
made flesh, I know that He liveth. He's alive. Now He died at Calvary. You listen to me, He rose from
the dead and now the scripture says He ever liveth to make intercession
for His people. God made a covenant before the
foundation of the world and declared there's going to be an inheritance
for my people, a selected people. He's always looked upon us as
sons, always looked upon us as heirs. You mean there's never
been a time that God didn't look upon us? No, He doesn't change. Since I've been born, and all
my brothers and sisters, my mama, they've always been my two sisters,
my mama and my brother. Always been. Always been. Hadn't
changed all these years, hadn't changed a bit. Almighty God is
eternal. He sees all of it. Knows all
of it. He said there's an inheritance and a promise to redeem those
people from their sins. And the assurance of that guarantee
What's the assurance of it? The blood of Christ. The assurance of it is that He
died. Listen, if I have will, and in
my will is basically what it says. Everything that I own in
this world, when I die, goes to my wife and my kids. Everything
that I own. But now before they're actually
going to take possession of it, I'm going to have to die. I mean, it's promised to them.
They have an inheritance. Christ, assuring all of God's
promises to His people, said, I lay down my life for the sheep. I lay down, I pay their debt. Now how do we know that these
promises are ours and that we're actually going to receive them?
I know what the scripture says. I know what it says. We shall
see him as he is, we'll be like him. How do I know that that's
going to be so? Well, here it is. Because my
kinsman redeemer liveth. Okay, I know it. Now let me tell
you where I'm going with this. Let's say that there's a will.
Here's the will and testament of the Lord Jesus Christ. Here's
the promise right here. Here's the covenant right here.
That's what we're talking about. Almighty God is going to have
mercy and compassion on whomsoever He will. Christ Jesus came into
this world, saved sinners, He died for them. He said, I'm going
to give it to you. Whenever there's a will, Any
will can be contested. Is that right, Gary? Any will
can be contested. OK. I got a will. And that will
says, Glenda, and Gabe, and Sarah, and Hannah, and Becca, and Mark,
and Aaron. That's who's going to get everything
that I got. That's who's going to get it. Now, I tell you this. Anybody can contest it. Now,
what are they going to do? Well, they're going to take it,
and they're going to take it to a judge. And they're going to say, now I've
got a discrepancy right here. I've got a grievance here. And
the judge will look at it and he'll listen to all the evidence
and this, that, and the other, and he's going to make a judgment
call. Almighty God's got a will and testament. It's the gospel. That's what it is. And Christ
died, paid the debt, paid the ransom, redeemed his people. Kinsman redeemer. Now I can tell
you this, anybody can contest that, heaven, hell, but let me
tell you who they're going to bring it to. They're going to
bring it to the judge, aren't they Mike? And who's the judge? The one that died. Now what do
you think he's going to say? Job said, I know, this is my
hope, my Redeemer liveth. And I tell you this, this is
the next thing I know. And He's going to stand at the
latter day upon the earth. This is what I know. He's coming
back. I know He's coming back. I believe
that. I believe that Almighty God is
going to come back. Listen to Acts 1. Acts chapter
1. The Lord giving His last words
to His disciples. And they're standing on the Mount
of Olives. And the Scripture says in Acts 1. When He had spoken
these things, while they beheld, He was taken up, and a cloud
received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly
toward heaven, as He went up, behold, two men stood by them
in white apparel, which also said, You men of Galilee, why
stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken
up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you
have seen Him go into heaven." These two angels says, He's coming
back. He's coming back just exactly like He left. Where is He coming
back to? Well, Zechariah 14.4 says, and his feet shall stand
in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem
on the east. Job said, I know that my kinsman,
Redeemer, liveth. And I know he's coming back.
And this is the third thing he knows. Back in Job 19, verse
26. And though after my skin, worms
destroy this body, Let me tell you what I know. I know I'm going
to die. Now I've got just enough sense. Number one, I've seen
other people die. And I know this, I'm getting older. I'm
already old. I'm getting older. And I know
this, I'm going to die. I know it's appointed unto man.
Unless the Lord comes back in the second coming, and the dead
in Christ rise first and we which remain meet them in the air,
I'm going to die, I know I am. He knew that he was going to
go the way that all have gone before, this life's a vapor,
but in the midst of knowing that flesh and blood cannot inherit
the kingdom of God, knowing that this mortal must put on immortality,
he knew this, yet in my flesh Shall I see God, whom I shall
see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another,
though my reins be consumed within me? Job knew, I'm going to be
resurrected in this flesh with these eyes. Now they're going to be changed,
this mortal. You're going to have to be changed.
Now I don't understand all that. I told you that before. I don't
understand it all. But I'm telling you, this flesh
right here. That flesh. These eyes right
here. In my flesh shall I see God. It's going to be changed, but
it's going to be my flesh. This same flesh right here. Just
grab hold of that pulpit. That flesh. He said, I, I'm going
to see God. And I'm going to see Him for
myself. It's not going to be somebody else seeing me. Well
how am I going to do that? He's going to have to resurrect
me. He raised from the dead and I'm going to be raised too. He
was raised incorruptible, glorified body, but it was still His flesh. The same flesh that the Lord
went into the grave with and came out with. If it wasn't His
flesh, it wouldn't be a resurrection. It would be a new creation, is
what it would be. Job knew that His eyes... Now
you listen. That's the hope of a believer.
1 John 3, 2. Beloved, now are we the sons
of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be, but we know
that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him. We'll see
Him as He is. Almighty God decreed. that his
elect would never lose their inheritance. That inheritance,
glory that was prepared for them before the foundation of the
world. That's what the Lord says to the sheep entering into everything
that was prepared for you from the foundation of the world. I know, and you know, we lost
that inheritance in Adam's fall. Well, we forfeited, we mortgaged
it. Let me say it like that. We never
lost it. But their kinsman, Redeemer,
ever agreed to stand. He said, I'll answer. That's
all part of the everlasting covenant of grace. And in time, he came
into this world, made like unto his brethren, laid down his life
for the sheep, lived for them, died for them, established holiness
as a man for them. brought peace with God on their
behalf. What's your hope, Job? Well,
I'll tell you what, it's not this life. But I can see that
everything in this life is fleeting. Everything in this life is passing.
Everything in this life is going to perish. But I can tell you
this, I know that my kinsman redeemer liveth. And I know this,
I know he's coming back for me. He's going to stand on this earth.
And though after my flesh, worms, destroy this, I'm gonna see God. I'm gonna see him for myself.
May the Lord bless these words to our heart. For Christ's sake,
amen.
