Isaiah Series 2023

In Clay Curtis's sermon titled "How Do We Know," based on Isaiah 42:9-17, he explores the infallibility of God's promises to His people, emphasizing His sovereignty in declaring and fulfilling His purpose. Curtis argues that the assurances of God’s faithfulness, evidenced in the fulfillment of historical covenants (e.g., with Abraham), provide a foundation for believers to trust in His future promises. He cites several scripture passages, including Genesis 17:4 and Galatians 3:16, to illustrate how God's prior declarations about redemption and salvation reveal His unwavering commitment. The practical significance of this sermon is to encourage believers to trust in God's providence, as He is both the sovereign author of salvation and the keeper of His covenant promises, ensuring that His elect will ultimately be delivered to their promised inheritance.

Alright brethren, Isaiah 42. Isaiah 42, now the Lord said
here that, verse 9, Behold the former things are come to pass,
and new things do I declare. Before they spring forth, I tell
you of them. And then he tells us to sing
a new song. Sing unto the Lord a new song.
And he goes through some things that shall come to pass. Now,
when we hear the Scriptures and we look into these words from
Isaiah, we ought to really think about the fact that this is the
Lord's Word, and it was the Lord's Word given to Isaiah to preach. This is what the Lord gave to
him to preach. This is what the Lord would have declared. He
gave this word to Isaiah to preach. This is what he would have preached.
Peter said, the prophecy came not in old time by the will of
man, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy
Ghost. You know, somebody might stand
up and preach in our day and somebody be doubtful if God gave
them the message. You don't have to doubt this
message. God gave Isaiah the message. So what I'm saying is
what we hear him preaching, we hear what the Lord would have
declared. We have here what the Lord would have preached. My
subject is how do we know? How do we know? And what I mean
by that is how do we know God shall fulfill every promise to
His people. How do we know? Well, the Lord
said in verse 9, Behold, the former things are come to pass,
and new things do I declare. Before they spring forth, I tell
you of them. God says, look back over history.
Everything God promised, God brought it to pass exactly. Everything
He promised, He brought to pass. And then God says, new things
do I declare before they spring forth. I tell you of them. And
that's what the Lord's doing here. He's declaring some new
things in this chapter. Now, in Isaiah's day, these things
had not come to pass. They only had the former things
to look back and say, yes, the Lord brought all those to pass.
We trust He'll bring these new things to pass. You and I have
the benefit of looking back on the former things he's talking
about, plus these new things, he's fulfilled much of these
new things already, and we can look back and see that he's fulfilled
them exactly like he said he would. And so we know this is
our assurance that God will provide and fulfill every promise for
his people because we see how he declared from the beginning
what he would do, then brought it to pass exactly. See, God saves according to His
purpose. That's how He saves. And God
declares His purpose beforehand, records it in the Word, and then
He brings it to pass. That's what history is, is the
Lord bringing to pass His sovereign will and purpose of salvation. And we can look throughout history
and see God bring it to pass, and He shows us beforehand what
He'll do and He'll do it. And so by this, looking at all
the things that He promised and then brought to pass, we know
every promise God has made to us, He will fulfill it. He will
fulfill it. Now first of all, let's consider
a few of the former things that God brought to pass. He said,
consider the former things. Well, before Abraham had a child,
he's old, Sarah's old, the Lord came to him and He promised him.
He made this covenant promised to Abraham. Now listen to how
He said this, in Genesis 17 verse 4, He said, I have made thee a father
of many nations. Abraham don't even have a child.
It's going to be years and years before they have a child. They're
going to mess up and try to produce their own child first. And it's
going to be years before God gives Isaac. But God said, I
have made thee a father of many nations. Already done it. And in time the Lord gave him
a son, Isaac. And from Isaac the Lord gave
a son, Jacob. And from Jacob the twelve tribes
of Israel. And on and on it went. On and
on it went. Galatians 3.16 tells us something
very important. Now you know this scripture.
I won't have you turn to it. But this is very important relating
to this. Because he said there, now to
Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He didn't say
seeds as of many, he said to thy seed, which is one, and that's
Christ. So everything that Christ promised
to Abraham, God the Father promised to Christ in eternity. These
were all covenant promises that the Father already made to Christ
in eternity. Before God created the world,
God said to His Son, He made Him the Christ, and He said to
His Son, I've made Thee a Father of many nations. Christ is called the everlasting
Father. He's the last Adam. He'll be
the Father of His redeemed forever. And God in eternity made him
a father of many nations. God chose a people that He would
save and trusted them to His Son to come forth and save them.
Well, 430 years before, the Lord declared to Abraham that the
children of Israel would go into bondage in Egypt. He told Abraham
that way back there. They would go into bondage in
Egypt. But the Lord declared that He
would redeem them out of bondage. And the Lord did it exactly as
He said. In fact, if you read it, you
read the first of Exodus, and read what He said to Abraham,
the Lord did it to the day that He said He would do it. Before
He created the world, God chose His Son to be the Savior of His
elect. The Lord delivered the children
of Israel out of bondage by a Passover Lamb. And in eternity, God the
Father chose the Passover Lamb. He chose Christ to be that Lamb
by whom we will be redeemed. The same as He declared beforehand
that the children of Israel would go into bondage, by choosing
Christ to be the Savior, the Lamb, the Redeemer, God declared
that all those the Father trusted to Christ would go into bondage.
We would fall when Adam transgressed and we would go into bondage
just like the rest of mankind would. The Lord didn't say to
Adam, if you eat of the tree, you shall surely die. He said,
in the day thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die. See, God
had purposed, even though Adam plunged all mankind into sin
and death, it was according to God's purpose, it was God's purpose
to glorify His Son in the salvation of His people. Now that's great
comfort to us, brethren. If the fall did not take God
by surprise, nothing takes God by surprise. It's all according
to God's purpose. Adam, by design, was set up by
God to typify the last Adam. God made him the head and representative
because that was to typify the Lord Jesus who was the head and
representative. That's what we read in Romans
5.14, Adam was the figure of him that was to come in headship. And so this is so, as by the
offense of one, judgment came upon all men who Adam represented. Judgment came upon all unto condemnation,
even so by the righteousness of one. The free gift came upon
all men who Christ represented under justification of life.
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by
the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. That ought
to just stop every argument there is about me and you contributing
to our righteousness before God. It's by the righteousness of
one, by the Lord Jesus Christ. Righteousness of one. So before
there was a sinner, God says, consider the former things. Before
there was a sinner, God already chose a people He would save
and the Savior who would save them. That gives us comfort. God truly is. When you think
of that, God truly is working all things together for good
to them that love God, to them who are the called, and He's
doing it according to His purpose. According to His purpose. All
the elect that God would save, they were called from eternity
in Christ by the Father, separated in Him. And He worked all things
together for their good according to His eternal purpose. Everything's
on purpose. Way back there in Abraham's day,
God promised that when He delivered Israel, He would deliver them
into the land of promise. And the Lord did it. He delivered
them into the land of promise. And that's what Christ promises
you and me He will do for everyone that He's redeemed. We have that
promise. Whenever trouble comes, whenever
you're full of doubt and fear and you don't know what to do,
you don't know, believe God's promise. He is not going to lose
one of His people. He said, I go to prepare a place
for you. He went to Calvary and prepared
a place for his people. He said, and if I go prepare
a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself
that where I am there you may be also. He said, ìAll that the
Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me,
I let no wise cast out.î This is the Fatherís will, that of
all which Heís given me, I should lose none, but raise Him up again
at the last day. So Heís going to deliver all
His people into the Promised Land. Just look now, just look
at Abraham, 430 years before God said, I'm going to make you a father
of many nations." He said, your children are going to go into
Egyptian bondage. I'm going to deliver them. I'm
going to deliver them with a lamb. I'm going to deliver them into
the promised land. And God did everything He promised Abraham. And all of that pictures God's
eternal promise in Christ to save His people from our sin
and give His Son all the glory. God shall do it. Christ our Passover
redeemed us, and each one shall be granted repentance, and each
one shall be delivered into the promised land, into the new heavens
and the new earth. Paul said in Ephesians 1.11,
in Christ we have obtained an inheritance. You've obtained
it. You possess it. Being predestinated
according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after
the counsel of his own will, God said in Isaiah 46, 9, look
there, you know it. But look at Isaiah 46, 9. Remember the former things of
old. For I am God, and there is none else. I am God, and there
is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from
ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My
counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure. Calling the
ravenous bird from the east, the man that executed my counsel
from a far country, yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring
it to pass. I have purposed it, I will also
do it. That is so, brethren, of our eternal salvation. Behold
the former things God said. They all come to pass, just exactly
according to His promise. He said, "...and new things do
I declare, before they spring forth, I tell you of them." Now
let's look at some of these new things that the Lord declared
in this chapter. Let's hear what He gave Isaiah
to preach concerning these new things. He said in verse 10,
"...sing unto the Lord a new song, and His praise from the
end of the earth." Whoa, wait a minute now. Now this is something
new. You catch this? This is something new. He didn't
say sing a new song and praise Him in Israel. He said from the ends of the
earth. He said throughout all the world. That's a new song. That's something
brand new. The new song of God's salvation
by divine election, by His grace, that's what this is. That's what
this is. God puts a new song on our lips. It's new. It's concerning the
new everlasting covenant of grace. It's new, not that it didn't
come first in order of time, as far as we know it in the order
of time, but it came first with God and His purpose. It's new,
from everlasting, from eternity. And He keeps it new in our heart.
And it's concerning new mercies that are new every day. It's
concerning the newness of His grace and how He saves. Well,
right here He's talking about electing grace. He declares here
He will save His elect from all nations and from all walks of
life. He says there in verse 10, He's
going to save some sailors. Some old rough sailors. That's
who He called when He came, isn't it? The Lord called His apostles,
fishermen. And He said here in verse 10,
Sing to the Lord a new song. Sing it to Him. We're praising
Him. You that go down into the sea,
and all that is therein, all the people that dwell in the
sea, in the islands, He's going to save Gentiles is what he's
saying, the Isles and the inhabitants thereof, Gentiles. Then he's
going to save some from all different kinds, all different kinds of
people from all different walks of life. Some are going to be
rough country folks living out in the wilderness, plain country
folks. Some are going to be refined
city folk. Verse 11, let the wilderness and the cities thereof
lift up their voice. The next word would have been
a real surprise to Isaac's natural descendants, to the children
born in Israel. This would have been a real surprise
to them. Something brand new. The Lord declared He even hath
some elect among the children of Ishmael, among the Arabs. Verse 11. The villages that Kedar
doth inhabit, let the inhabitants of the rock sing. Let them shout
from the top of the mountains. Kedar was the second son of Ishmael. the second son of Ishmael. You
know Ishmael and Isaac. God cast Ishmael out. But that
doesn't mean God didn't have some elect among Ishmael's family. He said right here He does. Look
at Isaiah 60. Look at verse 7. all the flocks of Kedar, Isaiah
60 verse 7, all the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together
unto thee. The realms of Nebaioth shall
minister unto thee. They shall come up with acceptance
on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory. That's
what the Lord declared. You see, this is the new song
of God's elect in grace. Now, all God's elect have this
in common. He said some, he's describing
all different kinds of people here. Jew and Gentile, sailors,
city, country folk, wilderness in the city, tents of Kedar,
people you would never expect would be God's elect. But here's
what they all have in common right here. Here's what everyone
have in common. All have sinned and come short
of the glory of God. Every one of us, due to the fall,
come into this world with a heart that's enmity against God. Will
not hear God's word, won't submit to God's word. And so this is salvation by God's
electing grace, and it must be by God's grace, by His election
of grace, that the purpose of God according to election might
stand. Not of him that willeth, but of God that calleth. Because
we wouldn't have called on God. We would not have chosen Him
if He hadn't chosen us. We just wouldn't have. And all
those He saves have this in common. This is the second thing we all
have in common. We're all singing this new song
of praise to God only. We're giving God all the glory,
God our Father and His Son Christ Jesus, because our redemption,
our righteousness, our holiness, our salvation is entirely of
the Lord. He said there, verse 12, let
them give glory unto the Lord. and declare His praise in the
islands. He called them from all these different places, all
these different backgrounds, but this is what they all have
in common. When He puts this new song in your heart, He says,
let them give glory to the Lord. Let them sing a new song to Him
and give Him the glory, give Him the praise. Look over at
Revelation 5.9. The Lord said in Revelation 5,
look at verse 5, one of the elders said to me, Behold, the lion
of the tribe of Judah, the ruler of David, hath prevailed to open
the book and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld,
and lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, in the
midst of the elders, stood a lamb as it had been slain, having
seven horns and seven eyes, which were the seven spirits of God
sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book
out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. And
when he took the book, the four beasts, and four and twenty elders
fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps and golden
vials full of odors, which are the prayers of the saints, and
they sung a new song." Isn't that what he tells us to do in
our text? This is what His people do. They sung a new song. What
is it? Saying, Thou art worthy to take
the book, and to open the seals thereof, for Thou was slain,
and has redeemed us to God by Thy blood, out of every kindred,
and tongue, and people, and nation. That right there, brethren, You
made us under our God kings and priests, and we shall reign on
the earth. You see, that's the new song.
It's the song of grace choosing us from all these different places,
all these different backgrounds, all these different varying degrees
of sin, and bringing us all to glory in our one righteousness,
Christ Jesus the Lord. Well, this is the new song of
our triumphant Redeemer. Go back now to Isaiah 42. It's the new song of our trial
for redeeming. Remember, now how this chapter
started, the Lord said that Christ was coming forth and He was going
to set judgment in the earth. He's going to set judgment in
the earth on the cross and He's going to set judgment in the
hearts of His people. And at last, He's going to judge this
whole world. Now look what it says here about
Him. In verse 13, The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man. That
was a new thing. God says that in the Scripture.
A woman shall compass a man. God manifests in the flesh. The Lord shall go forth as a
mighty man. He shall stir up jealousy like
a man of war. He shall cry, yea, roar. He shall
prevail against his enemies. You know, when you read the Scriptures,
The Lord is never spoken of in these scriptures as trying to
do anything. Never. I just hate to hear people
say, the Lord wants this, or you know, a preacher be preached
and see what the Lord is. He wants in this passage to teach
you this. No, no. He doesn't want to do
anything. He's not trying to do anything.
The scriptures speak of the Lord as prevailing. as prevailing. He shall prevail against His
enemies. Look back at verse 4. He shall
not fail nor be discouraged till He has set judgment in the earth.
You see that? That's the true God. He shall
not fail. This is Christ. He shall not
fail nor be discouraged. He shall prevail against His
enemies. And He prevailed in redeeming
His people on the cross. That's what He did. We just read
that in Revelation 5. What did they say? He said, weep
not. He said, the line of the tribe
of Judah, the root of David, hath prevailed to open the book. Because he accomplished redemption. When he had by himself purged
our sins, he sat down at the right hand of the majesty on
high. That's where John beheld him, a lamb slain, seated at
the right hand of God. That's who he is. And why is
he seated? He finished the work. he accomplished
the work. And he's going to prevail to
make all his enemies his footstool. We're all, everybody in this
world are enemies in our minds by wicked works. And he's going
to make them that are his, them that he redeemed, he's going
to make us his footstool. A long time ago I preached a
message on this. I preached it at at Indiana,
a brother, I wasn't even a pastor, he invited me to, Brother Bruce
invited me to preach at their conference. And the Lord's church
is described in scripture as his footstool. And you remember
in Isaiah, I mean in Hebrews 10, he said, sit here at my right
hand till I make thine enemies thy footstool. And for those
that are the Lord's people that He redeemed, we're enemies in
our minds by nature, but He's going to unite us with His church
as His footstool, the place at His feet where His people are
going to be, praising Him and glorifying Him. And He's going
to do that in grace, but He's going to prevail over us, even
though we were enemies in our minds. And for them that are
not His, that He didn't come to redeem, that reject Him, He
says here at the end, they're going to be turned back. But
He's going to use them in the world today. He's using everyone,
even His enemies, to provide for His church, to teach His
people that He's the Lord, that He's salvation, that He's keeping
His people. He's using even our enemies to
do that. There are no maybes in this passage.
It's only I will, I will, I will, I will. This is a new song of
His quickening grace. It's a new song of Him revealing
Himself in the heart and continuing to do it and keeping His people.
Look here. I will make waste mountains and hills and dry up
all their herbs. Verse 15. And I will make the
rivers islands and I will dry up the pools and I will bring
the blind by way that they knew not I will lead them in paths
that they've not known. I will make darkness light before
them and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them
and not forsake them." He's going to do this for all his enemies. We're all like proud mountains
and hills. He's going to make all his enemies
come to nothing. But for His people, we have an
old man in us that is a proud mountain and a proud hill. We've
seen this back there in Isaiah 40. But He's going to bring the
mountains down. He's going to bring the hills
down. so that He alone gets all the glory for being our righteousness
and our sanctification. Who art thou, great mountain?
Before it is irrevocable, thou shalt become a plain. He shall
bring forth the headstone shouting grace, grace unto it. He is going
to dry up all our vain fountains, the rivers and the pools, so
that He is the only fountain of life we have. And He will
dry up all our vain fountains. And if these things stand for
obstacles, the mountains and the hills and the rivers and
the pools, there's no obstacle in getting His way. You remember
that, brethren. I mean, times can get so troubling
for a believer sometimes that all we can see are obstacles
in our way. They're not obstacles to our
Lord. He put them there. That's how He approves them that
are His. He brings you to just batten
down the hatches. He brings you to just bow down
to his feet and trust him and remember his promises and remember
the former things of old that he's never failed to bring a
promise to pass. He brings you just to trust him
and wait on him. in every situation. This is not
practical teaching to the world. This is practical teaching to
God's people. When I hear of Christ and His marvelous works,
that tells me in every situation there's only one thing I really
need to do. Trust Him. Look to Him. Follow
Him. Whatever He says, do it. That's
it. Because He shall save His people.
We're spiritually blind. He gives us sight to behold Him. And that's when we start following
the Lamb. He says in verse 16, I will bring the blind by way
that they knew not. I will lead them in paths that
they've not known. You just think about it. The
Gentiles didn't even have the Word of God. The Gentiles didn't
have the oracles of God. They didn't have the law. They
knew nothing about righteousness. They were not seeking after righteousness. What did Paul say in Romans 9?
At the end of Romans 9 he said, here you had the children of
Israel, the Pharisees, and they didn't obtain righteousness,
they were seeking it by the works of the law. That's why they didn't
obtain it. And here you have Gentiles who never were under
the law, they never were seeking after righteousness, yet they've
obtained righteousness. But it's the righteousness which
is of faith. It's the Lord coming and shining the light and making
you hear, making you see, making you hear. The deaf shall hear
the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out
of obscurity and out of darkness. He said, My sheep hear my voice,
and I know them, and they follow me. He said, I'll lead them. Thus saith the Lord thy Redeemer,
the Holy One of Israel, I am the Lord thy God, which teacheth
thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest
go. Do you really believe Christ is leading us? He is. We can't see him with the carnal
eye, which is a very good thing. But he's leading us. He said,
I'm with you always. And He's leading us through the
preaching of this Word. He's leading us in Providence. He said, you'll hear a voice
behind you. When you turn to the right or
to the left, you'll hear a voice behind you saying, this is the
way, walk you in it. That's the Spirit of the Lord
leading us. And He's really leading His people. Really leading, teaching
us to profit. He's the light. He said, verse
16, I'll make darkness light before them and crooked things
straight. How did that begin? God commanded
the light to shine out of darkness. He shined in our hearts. He made
us behold the glory of God in the face of Christ Jesus. Well,
how does He keep doing it? Same way. It's the Spirit of
God shining the light, and Christ is that light. He turned us from
the crooked ways of trying to save ourselves by our own works. That was the crooked ways. He
turned us from that, and He turns us from every crooked way. He
turned us to Him, and He made Himself all unto us, and He keeps
doing that and growing us in the understanding that He really
and truly is all we need. I know I quote 1 Corinthians
1.30 all the time, but that is truly all we need. If God is
Christ made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification
and redemption, that's what you need to come into God's presence.
And that's what Christ is for His people. He turns us from
all the crooked ways and all the ways we thought we could
come to God, and He gives us one way to come to God. Just
one way. Christ the Lord. Child of God,
whenever you come into dark providence, you don't know what to do. The Lord gives you light. He
gives you light. He commands us what to do. Look
at what Isaiah 50 and verse 10. He gives us light. Here's what
he says, dude. Who is among you that feareth
the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh
in darkness and hath no light? Let him trust in the name of
the Lord and stay upon his God. That's right. By his Spirit,
what do we do? We're going to wait on the Lord.
By His Spirit, we're going to gather with the flock and we're
going to hear Him preach His Word to us. By His Spirit, we're
going to get in His Word, see what He says in His Word. By
His Spirit, we're going to wait on Him to show us the way. And by His grace, that's what
He'll do. That's what He'll do. He said,
I will make darkness light before them. I will make crooked things
straight. And he will not lose one. Verse
16, These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. Brethren,
He paid for us with His precious blood. He paid for His people. He cost Him His precious blood,
and He paid for us with His blood. You're His purchased possession. Lock, stock, and barrel. You
belong to Him. And He will have what He purchased. And He will
not lose. And therefore, He won't forsake
you. Because you can't take your next step without Him holding
your hand. And He will not forsake His people. The Father's glory is resting on Christ saving each
and everyone He promised to save. Listen to Psalm 94.14. The Lord
will not forsake His people, neither will He forsake His inheritance. I like Romans 5.8, God committeth
His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us. When we hated God, we didn't
know God, Christ came forth and laid down His life. You know,
you think of that, you think, well, I wasn't born for 2,000
more years when He laid down His life. He knew everything
about you. When He went to the cross, He
knew every sin we'd ever commit against Him. and while we were
yet sinners, He laid down His life for us. Much more than being
now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through
Him. For if when we were enemies we
were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more being
reconciled, we shall be saved by His life." So the Hebrew writer
said, let your conversation be without covetousness. Aren't
we full of covetousness? I am. What do you mean? You mean you covet after other
men's stuff? I don't mean that. I mean, I
do that, but that's not what that means. It's, I wish this
wasn't happening. I wish this other was happening.
I wish the Lord would get me out of this situation. Get me,
you know, I wish I had this or that or the other. Ease is basically. Let your conversation
be without covetousness and be content with such things as you
have. He said, I'll never leave thee
nor forsake thee. We're going to see in Isaiah
43, he said, when you pass through the waters and through the fire,
I'll be with you. I'm with you. And those that
he's revealed himself in, we're not going to turn back. We're
not going to turn back to this vain god of our imagination,
our idol, because we've seen the true God. We've seen Him.
We've seen Him by faith. We've been called by Him. Verse
17, And they shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed
that trust engraven images, that say to the molten images, You
are our gods. Now brethren, listen. All this
I've been saying, that He's going to do, all these promises that
He fulfilled and all the promises He shall fulfill. Everything
He's ever done for His people from Adam all the way right till
now, He's done it through the preaching of His Word. This is
the song. I'm singing the new song to you
right now. This is the new song. Christ
person and his works. Our mighty God, man mediator. And all these works that he promised
he would accomplish. He sent Isaiah and that's what
he told Isaiah to preach. And through that word in Isaiah's
day, you know what he did? He settled the hearts of his
people to trust him. And he saved them. And he kept
saving them. And he kept saving them. And
they're with him right now. And now they saw Christ come
into the world and they saw what He accomplished. And now they're
learning through Christ's wisdom in dealing with us and teaching
us. They're seeing the wisdom of God and how He brings to pass
all of the promises He promised. You and me are learning them
in real time. We're getting to experience it as it happens.
They've already been through it. And we're learning right
now that everything He's promised is so. And if you ever doubt
it, you just look back. And you think, I mean, if you
just look back in your life, everything He's ever promised,
He's done it in your life. If you're a child of God, I know
that is so unequivocally. I don't even have to put a reservation
on that. I know He's fulfilled every promise
He's ever made to you. And then go beyond that. Look
through the history of this world. Why does Jew and Muslim exist? Because of Abraham and because
of Isaac and Ishmael. But did Christ save His people? Has He always had His people?
Did He come forth when He said He would in the fullness of the
time? Did He redeem His people? Did
He call you? Did He work everything to call
you and He's kept you to now? He fulfills the former things. And so you can rest assured,
whatever's coming tomorrow, He's working it all together according
to that eternal purpose of His. And He's glorifying His Son and
He's saving you and making you come to sing this new song more
and more, praising Him. And we sing, Great is Thy faithfulness,
O God my Father. There's no shadow of turning
with Thee. Thou changest not. Thou compassions they fail not.
As Thou has been, Thou forever shall be. Morning by morning
new mercies I see. All I've needed, Diane has provided. Great is our faithfulness, Lord,
unto me. We just keep singing the new
song. What more can He say than to you He hath said? Trust His promise. Just trust
Him, brethren. As the death blow to our anxiousness
and our worry and our fretting, it's faith in the Lord. Faith
in the Lord. Amen.
