In the sermon titled "And He Healed Them," Gabe Stalnaker addresses the doctrine of Christ's healing power, linking physical healings in the Gospel of Matthew to the spiritual healing He provides for sinners. Stalnaker emphasizes that the phrase "And He healed them" is a profound declaration of Christ's divine authority and compassionate mercy, as seen in Matthew 4:24. Through several Scripture references, including Matthew 12:15, Matthew 14:14, and Luke 4:40, he illustrates that Christ’s healing was complete and unconditional for all who acknowledged their need. The overall significance of this message resonates with the Reformed doctrine of total depravity, asserting that only those who recognize their sin-sick state are candidates for Christ’s healing grace.

Good morning everyone. Let's
all stand and start our second service by singing Just As I
Am. Just As I Am. I've got to find
the number here. I should know it by heart. 249. Just As I Am 249. And we'll all stand if you like. Just as I am without one plea,
but that Thy blood was shed for me, and that Thou bidst me come
to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, and waiting
not To rid my soul of one dark blood To Thee whose blood can
cleanse each spot O Lamb of God, I come, I come Just as I am,
though tossed about With many a conflict, many a doubt, Bindings
and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come. Just as I am, poor, wretched,
blind, Sigh, richest hymning of the mind, To find, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, Thou wilt
receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve, Because Thy
promise I believe. O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Thank you. You may be seated. Turn with me to Psalm 86 while
I'm getting up here. Psalm 86. Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear
me, for I am poor and needy. Preserve my soul, for I am holy.
O thou, my God, save thy servant that trusteth in me. Be merciful
unto me, O Lord, for I cry unto thee daily. Rejoice the soul
of thy servant, for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and plenteous
in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Give ear, O Lord,
unto my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplications.
In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee, for that will
answer me. Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord,
neither are there any works like unto thy works. All nations whom
thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord,
and shall glorify thy name. For thou art great, and doest
wondrous things, thou art God alone. Teach me thy way, O Lord,
I will walk in thy truth. Unite my heart to fear thy name.
I will praise thee, O Lord, my God, with all my heart, and I
will glorify thy name forevermore. For great is thy mercy toward
me, and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. O
God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent
men have sought after my soul and have not set thee before
them. Thou, O Lord, art God, full of
compassion and gracious, long-suffering and plenteous in mercy and truth. O turn unto me, and have mercy
upon me. Give thy strength unto thy servant,
and save the son of thy handmaid. Show me a token for good, that
they that hate me may see it and be ashamed, because thou,
Lord, hast helped me and comforted me. Let's pray. Father, we're
so thankful this morning for this chapter of scripture, Father,
and how merciful you truly are to us. And Father, we're so many
reasons to give thanks. You just outlined five of them
this morning, but there's so many more, and we're so thankful. And again, we're so thankful
for your mercy that you've shown us. And Father, we're thankful
that you've given us a place to come and worship. And Father,
we ask that you watch over this congregation. We ask that you
watch over the Brethren at Kingsport. And Father, we're thankful for
Gabe and Hannah, that they were able to come and see us and preach
to us. And we're so thankful for the
time that we've got together to see Brethren that we don't
get to see very often. And Lord, I just continue to
ask that you Watch over and care for us as we go through the week
until we return again next week. And again, watch over and care
for us in Christ's name. Amen. As you remain sitting, let's
sing our second hymn, 222. There is a Fountain, 222. There is a fountain filled with
blood drawn from Emmanuel's face. And sinners plodged beneath that
flood, Lose all their guilty stains. Lose all their guilty
stains. Lose all their guilty stains. And sinners plunge beneath that
flood, Lose all their guilty stains. The dying thief rejoiced
to see That fountain in his day. And there may I, though vile
as he, wash all my sins away. Wash all my sins away. Wash all my sins away. And there may I, though vile
as he, wash all my sins away. Dear dying Lamb, thy precious
blood shall never lose its power. Till all the ransomed Church
of God Be safe to sin no more. Be safe to sin no more. Be safe to sin no more. Till all the ransomed Church
of God Be safe to sin no more. E'er since, by faith, I saw the
stream Thy flowing wounds supply, Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die. And shall be till I die. And shall be till I die. Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die. And this poor, list'ring, stammering
tongue Lies silent in the grave. Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I'll gain thy power to save. I'll sing thy power to save. I'll sing thy power to save. And in a nobler, sweeter song,
I'll sing thy power to save. Thank you. That was nice. Beautiful
words. All right, so bringing back our
brother Gabe Stoniker, from Kingsport, Tennessee, Kingsport Sovereign
Grace Baptist Church. And so we're thankful to have
Gabe and Hannah here. And brother, thank you for the
first message. It blessed my heart. And we're
looking forward to the second one. So come on. We sincerely, you know, I said
what I said a minute ago. But we sincerely have enjoyed
being here. I'm so thankful to be here right
now. I desire the Lord and the Lord's
people and worship. And as interesting as that is
to the flesh, how could the flesh desire worshiping God? Because
the flesh wants everything but this by nature. But when the
Lord truly does do a work in His people, He causes us to love
this. And we live for this. We love
each other because Christ is in His people and this is the
tangible, this is what we have on this earth. We have Christ
in each other. And we love you and we just thank
the Lord for you. I'm just so thankful. I pray the Lord will bless us
one more time here. Turn with me to Matthew chapter
4. Matthew chapter 4. And let's read verses 23 to 25. Matthew 4 verse 23 says, And
Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues,
and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner
of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And
his fame went throughout all Syria. And they brought unto
him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and
torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those
which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy, and he healed
them. And there followed him great
multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from
Jerusalem, and from Judea, and from beyond Jordan." Now I want
us to focus on one phrase from those verses. It's four words.
It's the last four words of verse 24. It says, And He healed them. And He healed them. Sovereignly,
powerfully, completely. Kindly, tenderly, lovingly, graciously,
mercifully, He healed them. I love that. That's a declaration. That is a declaration right there.
He healed them. That is an announcement. That's what that is. That's an
announcement. That is a statement. That tells us who did what. He healed them. That tells us who gets the credit
for it. Who gets the glory for it. That's the true declaration of
Christ. That is the gospel of the Word. The gospel of the Word of the
Lord Jesus Christ. It very plainly tells us. This
is what the gospel is. Okay? This is what it is. It
tells us who He is. What He did, who He did it to, what result
it brought, who gets the credit for it, who gets the glory for
it, that's the declaration of the Lord Jesus Christ. That's
the declaration of the Gospel. I believe one of the things that
I truly love most about declaring the Gospel is not only is it
sovereign, I can't stand a weak message. I just can't. I can't
stand wimpy preachers. I don't like them. I can't stand
a wimpy message. I love how sovereign it is. I love how powerful it is. I
love how complete it is. I love how complete it is. I
had a man reprimand me one time from another state. He sent an
email because I was not at the end of my messages, turning it
back on the people and saying, now what are you going to do
with it? And he ended that email by saying, surely you're not
going to tell people what Christ did and then just leave it at
that. I said, that's exactly what I'm going to do. It's sovereign,
it's powerful, it's complete. But with that, I love the kindness
of this declaration. I'm just personally speaking
my heart to you. I love the kindness. I love the
tenderness of this declaration. I love the love. I love the mercy. I love the grace that is in the
announcement of declaring what Christ did for His people. You
can hear the kindness and the tenderness and the love and the
mercy and the grace in those four words. If you just listen
to them, it says, and He healed them. Can't you hear that? And He healed them. In just hearing that, we can
enter into the compassion that made Him want to. Do you know
the reason why our Lord would heal anybody? You want to get
to the heart of the reason why. You know, God's people do. They
spend a lot of time asking, why? Why? Well, if you want to get
to the heart of the reason why, it's this. He wanted to. That's the reason why He did
it. He wanted to. Everything that our Lord does,
He does it because He wants to. even in the eternal healing. These physical healings represent
a spiritual healing. They all represent an eternal
healing. This is a spiritual picture of
an eternal healing that Christ brings to His people. And even
in that eternal healing that He provided from sin, in bearing
that sin in His own body on the tree, He bore that because He
wanted to. That's the reason why He did
that. He wanted to. He wanted to do that. Just before
He went to the cross, He told His disciples, and I really love
this, He had the Lord's table with them. He said, you go prepare
a place, we're going to eat the Passover. And this is what He
said to His disciples. He said in that moment, with
desire, I have desired to eat this with you. This last one,
that was the last Passover, that pictured the Passover, the Lamb
slain. In a few moments, the Lamb is
about to be slain. And everything from eternity
past has been leading up to this moment. And I've been looking
forward to if God does that. God doesn't deal in time. But
He said in His own words, with desire, I have desired to eat
this Passover with you. With desire. I've desired to
partake of this with you. For this cause came I into the
world. That's what He said. It's the
only reason I came. This is the only reason I came. And in that moment when the time
came for God the Father to lay all of that iniquity of the people
of God on Christ, and God dealt with His own Son, and God judged
His own Son in that iniquity, do you know why God the Father
did that to His own Son? It's because He wanted to. It
pleased the Lord to bruise Christ in the stead of His people. It pleased the Father to make
Christ to be sin, even though Christ knew no sin. It pleased
the Father to make Christ to be the sin of His people, so
that His people could be made to be the very righteousness
of God in Him. The whole thing was done sovereignly,
It was done powerfully. It was done completely. But it
was done kindly. It was done tenderly. It was
done lovingly, mercifully, graciously. And that's His glory in the whole
thing. That's the beauty of it. That's the perfection of it.
How God could be just against sin and still justify His sinful
people in a way that holiness said, I'm satisfied. And the law said, I'm satisfied. And justice said, I'm satisfied. And God said, I'm satisfied. Christ walked out of His tomb,
and oh, how I loved that moment. You know, the angels are not
all-knowing like God is. They're waiting on His bidding
and watching what He's doing. They desire to look into these
things just like we do. And can you imagine when He called
on those angels? And He said, it's time. You go
roll that stone away from that tomb. And they just, boom! They
landed on that stone, and all the guards fell out. And they
rolled that stone and they watched Him walk out of that tomb. Can
you imagine the holiness of that moment? Christ walked out of His tomb
because He had to walk out of His tomb. Everything was satisfied. Even death was satisfied. Death
said, I'm satisfied. The grave could conceal Him no
longer. And in the same way that a sign
was put on top of His cross that said, this is Jesus of Nazareth,
the King of the Jews, the King of the sinners. In that same
way, a sign could have been put on the top of the opening of
His tomb that said, and He healed them. What a line, what a statement
that is. Let's take a few minutes here and just enjoy our great
physician. That's what we're going to do.
We're going to enjoy the great physician in who he is, in what
he's done, in who he's done it for. Matthew 4 verse 23, it says,
Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues
and preaching the gospel of the kingdom. and healing all manner
of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And
His fame went throughout all Syria, and they brought unto
Him all sick people that were taken with diverse diseases and
torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those
which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy, and He healed
them." And there followed Him great multitudes of people from
Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from
Judea, and from beyond Jordan. Never will you find in the Scripture,
and again I'm going to repeat, that these physical healings
represent spiritual healings. So, the good news of the physical
healing represents the good news of the spiritual healing. But
in this Word, never ever will you find one sick person who
came to the Lord Jesus Christ and didn't receive healing. Never. Never. Turn with me over to Matthew
chapter 12. We're going to do another run of Scriptures here. I just want to prove that in
the Word. Verse 15 says, But when Jesus
knew it, He withdrew Himself from thence, and great multitudes
followed Him, and He healed them all. Who did He leave out? None of them. Don't you love
that about Him? Doesn't He endear Himself to
us? Look at Matthew 14, verse 14. And Jesus went forth and saw
a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them,
and He healed their sick." Why did He do that? It's because
He was moved with compassion toward them. I love that thought. The compassion of His heart in
seeing that. He wanted to. Look at Matthew
15 verse 30. Great multitudes came unto Him,
having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and
oh, what a picture of sin that is. Lame cannot come. Blind cannot
see. Just completely maimed, dumb,
cannot speak. You know, we say, cry out to
the Lord. Well, by nature, we're dead in trespasses and sins.
We cannot cry. Many others, it says, and they
cast them down at Jesus' feet, and He healed them. He healed them. Verse 31, Insomuch that
the multitude wondered when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed
to behold, the lame to walk, the blind to see, And they glorified
the God of Israel. Our Lord didn't heal them by
saying, now you're healed. You now need to go to rehab.
Alright? You need to go see a physical
therapist. And he will work with you. And
over the next few months, you ought to start seeing some improvement. They were healed. in so much
that the multitude wondered. I'm telling you, those who never
spoke a word, spoke the most beautiful Hebrew you've ever
heard spoken. A man who never walked before
was just a specimen. Honestly, the man with the withered
hand, you talk about a strong arm. in so much that they were
healed, buddy. There's no more work left to
be done in the healing. When they saw it, they glorified
the God of Israel. He healed them. Look at Matthew
19. Matthew 19 verse 1, It came to
pass that when Jesus had finished these sayings, He departed from
Galilee and came into the coast of Judea beyond Jordan, and great
multitudes followed them, and He healed them there. Right there. They came to Him and He healed
them. Right there. Right where they were. Right
where He was. Right there. One more. Go to
Luke chapter 4. Luke 4 verse 40, it says, Now when the sun was setting,
all they that had any sick with divers' diseases brought them
unto Him, and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed
them. Every one of them. That's what
I want to stress in this. Every one of them. Now there's
something that I want us to understand about this. This is very critical.
We need to understand this. There's one common denominator
in every person that He healed. One common denominator. Every
one of them was sick. Every one of them. Our Lord did
not heal every soul in every place. He passed by a lot of
people. He passed by a lot of people.
He only healed every soul who was sick. When He came into town,
it says, and He came into Jericho, or He came into wherever. He
came into town. This is the question that went
out. It was made known that He was coming. This is how it went
back there. A fame went out. That's what it says. A fame went
out of this man. People heard about him. And when
he came into town, it was made known that he was coming. And
this is the cry that went out. Is anybody sick? Is anybody sick? Because the great physician is
coming. The great physician is coming
to this town. He's coming right here. That
is still the cry today. Is anybody sick? I'm telling you, I would love to find another sick
person. I really would. I'm talking about
sick with sin. You can't find them. You don't
have many in Springfield, Missouri, Nixa, Missouri. You don't have
many sinners here. Everybody's a sinner, but they
don't believe it. They don't know it. They don't claim it.
You go ask people, are you a sinner? No. No, I'm pretty good. I have sinned, you know, everybody
has sinned, sure, but I'm not a sinner. I'd love to find a
sinner. Are you sick with sin? There's one criteria for being
healed by this great position. You have to be sick. You have
to be sick. One man, an old preacher from
a long time ago, used to make the statement, I'm not trying
to get people saved, I'm trying to get people lost. Nobody's
lost. Is anybody lost? Is anybody sick? Every soul who is not sick is
going to get passed by. Let that be known. Every soul
who is not sick is going to get passed by. False religion tells
people, you better stop being a sinner. If you accomplish that,
you will fit the description of the person that Christ is
going to pass by. Okay, I am not a sinner anymore.
Well, then He is going to pass right by you. He's not coming
to you. Every soul who is sick, for every
soul who's sick, every soul who God has revealed sin to them. I'm telling you, I'm so glad
our Lord did not say, confess your sins one to another. We
confess them to God alone. I don't want to confess my sins
to you. But I will confess my faults one to another. I'm a
sinner. I'm a sinner. I don't deserve
to stand here. I don't deserve to speak on behalf
of this God. I'm a sinner. And if God has
revealed to you that you're a sinner, if God has convicted you of this
holy God and you're going to have to stand before this God,
if you need the great physician of sick sinners, every soul who's
sick, listen, the physician is coming to Nixa, Missouri today. He's passing by today. He's coming
here today. Didn't He say, where two or three
are gathered in My name, I'm coming to you. Didn't He say
that? I'll be in the midst of you. He's coming today. That's what we're here to say.
He's coming today. And here's the good news. He's
never lost a patient. Not one patient. There has never
been a disease He couldn't heal. There's never been a patient
turned away. Never. It didn't matter how small the
sickness was when they brought them to the Lord. It didn't matter
how great the sickness was when they brought them to the Lord.
He healed them all. He healed them all. And we can
go to Him with the smallest need that we have. We can go to Him
with the greatest need that we have. And the greatest need that
all of us have is we need to be healed from our sin. We need
to be healed from the sickness of our sin. And if you have it,
like I have it, if you desperately need to be healed of it, then
here's the message of the Gospel. Christ is coming for you. That's the message that we have
been sent to declare. That's what we have been told
to say to every soul who is truly sick with sin. You are the candidate
that Christ is looking for. That's good news, isn't it? Some
people, every now and then, you'll find somebody who is just so
wretchedly miserable sitting in their seat, they can't lift
up their eyes to heaven, they can't pray, They just seem to themselves
to be such a hopeless case. This physician is looking for
that type of person. Somebody who is sick. Somebody
who is sick. Our Lord said, I came to seek
and to save that which was lost. And that's what He did. He saved. He's not looking to try to save
anybody. He saved. The angel said, call His name
Jesus for He shall save. And that's exactly what He did.
He saved. And it's finished. And now His
Spirit is going to go seek every soul that Christ saved. Look right here at Luke 5 verse
18. Behold, men brought in a bed
a man which was taken with a palsy, and they sought means to bring
him in and to lay him before him. And when they could not
find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude,
they went upon the housetop and let him down through the tiling
with his couch into the midst before Jesus." They ripped the
roof off of that house and lowered him down. And when he saw their
faith, when the Lord saw the faith that the Holy Spirit had
given to these men and worked in these men and put in these
men, causing them to look to Christ and to hope in Christ,
He said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. And the scribes
and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh
blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God
alone? Amen. But when Jesus perceived
their thoughts, He, answering, said unto them, What reason ye
in your hearts? Whether it is easier to say,
Thy sins be forgiven thee, or to say, Rise up and walk. He
said, which is easier? For me to say, Thy sins be forgiven
thee, and then you see nothing happen? Or to say, Rise up and
walk, and then you see something happen? Which one's easier? But
that you may know that the Son of Man hath power upon earth
to forgive sins. He said unto the sick of the
palsy, I say unto thee, arise and take up thy couch and go
into thy house. And immediately he rose up before
them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own
house, glorifying God." What I love about that is he didn't
just get out of the bed and start walking. He picked up the bed
and threw that thing over his shoulder and went home. Verse 26, And they were all amazed,
and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We
have seen strange things today. And after these things, he went
forth and saw a publican named Levi sitting at the receipt of
custom, and he said unto him, Follow me. And he left all, rose
up, and followed him. And Levi made him a great feast
in his own house, and there was a great company of publicans
and of others that sat down with them. But their scribes and Pharisees
murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do you eat and drink
with publicans and sinners? And Jesus answering said unto
them, They that are whole need not a physician, but they that
are sick. I came not to call the righteous,
but sinners to repentance." He said, that's who I came for.
And that's who I saved. And I pray that's us. I pray
God will give us a need for a physician. I pray God will not cause us
to believe that we're saved I pray God will cause us to believe
that we need Jesus Christ and we need Him right now. I pray
God will do that for us. Is anybody sick with sin in need
of a great physician? Every soul that Christ saved,
the Spirit of God is going to give that soul a need for the
One who saved him. Every soul. Is any soul sick? Does any soul need the physician? If so, do this. Turn with me
to Mark chapter 10. Mark 10 verse 46. And they came to Jericho, and
as he went out of Jericho, and what that means is he came into
Jericho, he passed by everybody in Jericho, and he was leaving
Jericho. They came to Jericho, and as
he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number
of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the
highwayside begging. I love this man. Verse 47 says,
And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, our Lord,
a fame went out of him. And I just love thinking about
blind Bartimaeus hearing about this man. When he heard, he'd
heard about him. He knew of him. And it's like
it is today with famous people. You think famous people are just
above us. We're beneath and they're above.
I'll never meet that famous person. That famous person will never
come to my town. That's how he felt about the Lord. He heard
the fame of Him and he knew His condition. He heard what He was
doing and he believed it. And I can just envision him listening
to the pastors by, talk about this man, thinking, I wish this
man would come to me. Verse 47, when he heard that
it was Jesus of Nazareth, he was sitting there and all this
commotion was going on and he started asking, what in the world
is going on? and all these great multitudes
passing by. And he started asking, what is
going on? And somebody said, Jesus of Nazareth
is passing by. When he heard that it was Jesus
of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, Jesus, Thou Son
of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he
should hold his peace, but he cried the more a great deal,
Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And I encourage every
soul here to cry that in the heart. Lord, have mercy on me. Please have mercy on me. Verse
49 says, And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called.
And they called the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort,
rise, he calleth thee. And he, casting away his garment,
rose and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto
him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said
unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said
unto him, Go thy way, thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately
he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way. If you are
a sinner who is sick with sin, cry out to Him from the depths
of your soul. Lord Jesus, Thou great Physician,
I need to be healed. I need mercy in the blood of
my salvation. That's what I need. Mercy. Cry
out for mercy. Don't stop crying out for mercy
until He calls you. Cry out for mercy and don't stop
crying out for mercy until He calls you. Because if He calls
you, it means He has already called you. If He calls you,
it means you have already received mercy. If you cry, it means He's
making you cry. No one will cry until God makes
a sinner cry. So cry. If you want to, if He
has put a desire in you, if God is working in you both to will
and do of His good pleasure concerning you, cry. Cry. Cry out to Him. Cry out to Him. If you cry, He will call. He will call. He has called. He is calling. He will call. And when He calls, throw away
your old filthy garment of self-righteousness and you go to Him just as you
are. Go to Him, just as I am, without
one plea, but that Thy blood was shed for me, and that Thou
bidst me come to Thee, Lamb of God, I come. I come. You go to Him, just as you are,
and when He heals you, not if. This is a powerful message of
truth. that our God has given us. If
a sinner cries, that's God calling the sinner. No sinner can come
to Christ except the Father which sent Christ. Draw that sinner
to Christ. And He will do that by giving a sinner a realization,
I need you, I need you, like blind Bartimaeus. I need you,
Lord, I need you. Shut up! He's going somewhere
else. Lord, I need you, I need you. You cry. He will call. You will come. And when He heals you, you follow
Him in the way. You follow Him in the way. And
as you follow Him, Do this. I was going to have you turn
to Luke 17, but I'm not. Our Lord went into a town and
He healed ten lepers and He said, you go your way and show yourselves
to the priest. And as they turned to go to the
priest, they were done with leprosy. And one of them turned around
and fell down on his face, thanking God. Thanking God. When He heals you, you glorify
Him, giving Him thanks. Hospitals are for sick people.
The Gospel is for sinners. The Gospel is not for self-righteous
people. It's for sinners. Our great Physician
came for those who need to be healed from what they are. If
God has revealed to you what you are, you go to the Lord Jesus
Christ. In the heart, you go to Him.
He is right now receiving the sick with sin. This man receives
sinners. centers in the worst conditions.
And I've got to stop. I've gone too long. I like having
that time thing right there because I can tell I've got to stop.
But I have to tell you one more story. Years ago, I forget this man's
name, a brother in Lexington, Kentucky knew this doctor and
called me recently and heard me tell the story and he said,
I knew the man. This was his name. And I left
his name home and I can't remember his name. But he was in his office
one day seeing patients and the waiting room was full and everybody
who came in to him, they weren't, I mean it was just bumps and
bruises and scratches and it was nothing, it was just nothing.
And he had a waiting room of people and somebody come in,
you know, I got my elbow hurts or something and finally he got
fed up with it and he went out in the waiting room and he said,
is anybody here actually sick? He said, if anybody is actually
sick, I'll see you right now. Our Lord stood up one time at
the great day of the feast and He said, is anybody thirsty? I mean truly thirsty for righteousness
and mercy and forgiveness and salvation. If any man truly thirst,
He said, let him come unto Me right now and drink. Come to
Me, I'll supply you what you need." And He will. Right now. If you truly need salvation,
then you cast your all on Christ. And He'll save you. He has saved
us. He does save us. And He will
save us. Every soul that He purposed to
save and saved, sees his or her need. They see their condition.
And they see their only remedy to be Him, and they go to Him.
They go to Him in the heart, and He heals them. He heals them. He healed them, and He heals
them. And it's that way every time.
Every single time. Every time it said He called
them, they came, and He healed them. Amen. Thank you for having
me, brother. I bless my heart. I just want
to say amen. Amen. I really bless my heart.
So brother, come close us in a hymn. And if you would pray
and just thank the Lord for the food and then everyone is welcome
to eat with us. So please stay. We have plenty
for sandwiches. Let's all stand and sing a closing
hymn. 224 I know whom I have believed. 224 I know not why God's wondrous
grace To me he hath made known, Nor why unworthy Christ in love
Redeemed me for his own. But I know whom I have believed
and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed
unto Him against that day. I know not how this saving faith
to me He did impart, Nor how believing in His word Brought
peace within my heart. But I know my happy leaving And
am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I've committed
Unto Him against that day. I know not how the Spirit moves,
convincing men of sin, revealing Jesus through the Word, creating
faith in Him. and am persuaded that He is able
to keep that which I've committed unto Him against that day. I know not what of good or ill
may be reserved for me. Of weary ways or golden days,
Before His face I see. But I know whom I have believed,
And am persuaded that He is able To keep that which I've committed
Unto Him against that day. I know not when my Lord may come
at night or noonday fair, Nor if I walk the vale with Him or
meet Him in the air. But I know whom I have believed
and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed
unto Him against that day. Thank you. Our Heavenly Merciful Father,
we thank you, Lord, for allowing us to gather together to hear
your glorious gospel declared once again to us. Father, we
are unworthy of all your blessings, but yet you have taken reasons
out of yourself and poured out your grace and mercy upon us.
Father, we thank you for your free and full salvation. And
Father, remember us as we go through this week, as we look
ahead, Lord, keep Gabe and Hannah safe as they travel home. Remember
them as a family also, Lord, continue to give them strength
as he labors in his church. Father, we thank you for their
fellowship and their care for us also. And Father, remember
our pastor also, Brother Eric. Continue, Lord, to give him strength
and courage and pour out your mercy and grace upon him, Lord,
that he may continue to stand before us to declare the unsearchable
riches of the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, remember us in mercy. be
with our loved ones, our families, our neighbors, and those that
we cross paths with as we work and do various things. Lord, open our mouths that we
may declare what great and glorious things you have done for us as
sinners. Bless, Lord, the food which you have given unto us.
Remember us in mercy. For Jesus' sake alone, amen.
