This morning we will be looking
at the book of Revelation, chapter 7. The Revelation, chapter 7. And the title of this message
should get the attention of everyone who hears this. The title is,
What They Are Doing and Saying in Heaven. In Revelation 7, John
gives an account of his vision into heaven of a vast multitude
of persons and what they are doing and saying. What people
in heaven are doing and saying is what I want to deal with.
And I want you to know this from the outset. What they are doing,
what those in heaven are doing and saying, is what they were
doing and saying while on this earth. So know this, that who
goes to heaven are those who do and say these things on the
earth. All right? What they are doing
and saying in heaven. Revelation 7, I'm reading beginning
with verse 9. which reads this way, After this
I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of
all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before
the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and
palms in their hands, and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation
to our God which sitteth upon the throne and under the lamp."
It reads, "...a multitude which no man could number, but God
has them numbered, because he chose each one of them. Yes,
the scripture says this, the foundation of God standeth sure,
the Lord knoweth them that are his. Just as he numbered the
stars Scripture says, he has numbered his people. But there
is a great multitude which no man can number. And it goes on
to say, of all nations and kindreds and people and tongue they stood
before the throne. Of all nations and kindreds and
people and tongue. This is what our Lord was saying
to the Jewish leader Nicodemus in John chapter 3 verse 16. which
most everyone knows. God so loved the world. Our Lord speaking to a Jewish
leader who thought God loved and God chose and God would only
save Jews. But no, Christ tells him God
has a people out of every nation, kindred, people and tongue in
the world. Persons all over the world. Out of every tribe, kindred and
nation. Not every person in the world. No, no. Because some of them
the wrath of God abides upon. But rather a multitude of persons
out of the world. Remember that. Consider that. John 3.16. Consider that in light
of 1 John 2.15. I challenge you to go read that
for yourself and consider those passages together. 1 John 2,
verse 15. Well, he goes on to write in
verse 9, a multitude out of every nation, kindred, people, and
tongue stood before the throne and before the Lamb clothed with
white robes and palms in their hand and cried with a loud voice. So they stood before the throne
clothed with white robes. Now, Revelation 19, the whole
book of Revelation speaks often of these robes, these white robes. And know this about the Revelation.
Most of the language is symbolic. It's a spiritual book. A spiritual
book. It is a parable, as it were,
hidden from the wise and prudent, revealed unto babe, revealed
unto whom God will reveal it. In Revelation 19, verse 8, it
reads this way concerning these robes. The church, the bride
was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, or that is, clothed
in. It was granted to her. It was
the gift of God. It was the grace of God. God
arrayed her or put these robes upon her. Fine linen, clean and
white, for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. It's not their own worked-out
righteousness, not a righteousness or a holiness or a goodness which
they made themselves. But no, a righteousness made
for them, a robe made by Jesus Christ Himself. Paul writes this
in Titus chapter 3 verse 5, he says, not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but according to his mercy he has saved us. Romans 10 deals much with the
right, well, the whole book of Romans deals with this righteousness
which is in Christ alone, which Christ himself worked out for
his people. That's why he came to earth.
That's one reason he came to earth, the principal reason,
to live a righteous life as a substitute, as a representative of all the
people God chose and gave to him. He was working out this
perfect holy life to impute or charge or reckon to their account. They couldn't do it. They can't
do it. Never have, never will be able
to do it. But he did, and gave it to them. And therefore God accepts them
as holy and righteous, not by works of righteousness they have
done, but works of righteousness which Jesus Christ has done for
them." Do you understand that? It's not good works that save
us, but grace that saves us. It's not us keeping the law.
We can't. But it's Christ keeping the law.
Alright, so these in heaven. are in heaven because Jesus Christ
made them fit for heaven. He made them righteous. He gave
them his righteousness. And he took their sins. That's
why he's called the Lamb slain. He took their sins upon him and
God punished him in their stead. That is the people of God. Not
all people. If Christ died for all people,
then all people will be saved because the blood of Jesus Christ
makes atonement for the soul. Do you understand that? But Christ
died for His people. They are called His sheep. He
said in John 10, I laid down my life for the sheep. And He
looked at some self-righteous Pharisees and said, You're goats.
You're not My sheep. So everyone whom Christ the Lamb
laid down His life, for they have their sins forgiven, put
away by the blood of the Lamb." That's one thing all worshipers
know. Alright, so they worship Him. What are they doing? They're
worshiping Him. In verse 11 it says, "...the
angels also stood before the throne, around about the throne,
the elders, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped
God." That's what they're doing in heaven right now as I speak. And that's what the true people
of God do upon this earth. Worship. This is what all this
thing of salvation is about. Worship. Our Lord said this Himself. True worshipers worship the Father
in spirit, that is, from the heart, and in truth, that is,
in light of God's Word. from the Word of Truth, which
is the gospel of their salvation. They worship in light of the
gospel, that is, who Jesus Christ is and what He did for them.
Now listen to what they say. They are worshiping right now.
That is what the true people of God do on this earth. And this is what they are saying.
This is what true worshipers say. And this is what all true
worshipers believe. Verse 10, I read, They cried
with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God, which sitteth upon
the throne, and unto the Lamb. Salvation to, or that is, belongeth
unto our God. Jonah said it, Salvation of the
Lord. David said it, salvation belongeth
unto the Lord. Yes, salvation from the choosing
to the crowning belongs to God. It is all in His hands. It is
all up to Him. Him making the choice, not us. Him doing the saving, not us. Salvation belongeth unto the
Lord. Salvation from the first to last,
from knowing or for loving His people, to predestinating, to
calling, to justifying, to glorifying, Romans 8, 29 and 30 says, is
100% of the Lord. That's what true worshipers say. That's what the saying in heaven
and all true worshipers on earth are saying. Salvation to our
God. All of it. None of it. is in the hands of, the will
of, the decision of, the power of man. Salvation to our God,
which sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb, performed by the
Lamb. Salvation is performed by the
Lamb. Salvation is purchased by the Lamb. They are all redeemed
by the Lamb. Yes, salvation belongs unto our
God, God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Now listen as I
continue. Verse 11 and 12, the angels,
they got in on it and they stood around about the throne and fell
on their faces and worshiped God saying, Amen. Amen is the first thing out of
their mouth upon hearing that salvation is to our God. They said, Amen. Amen means that's
the way it is. Amen means that's the way we
like it. Amen means that's exactly the
way we would have it to be. Can you say amen or amen to salvations
of the Lord? Do you say amen to that? Do you
say amen to every part of salvation belonging to God that no part
belongs to man? Do you say amen to that? Even
faith is the gift of God? Listen as I go on. Amen, they
said. Blessing, or that is, God must
bless us with life. We're dead. God must give us
life. Repentance, that's the gift of God. Faith is the gift
of God. The fruit or the works of the
Spirit is all the gift of God. Blessing and glory, they said,
belongs unto God. Glory, God gets it all. God gets
all the glory. He won't share His glory. And
let me tell you, folks, true worshipers don't share it. They
won't share it. They give it all to God. Glory,
blessing and glory and wisdom, they said. Wisdom belongs unto
God. That is, we know nothing except
it be revealed unto us from above, except God reveal it to us. We
are ignorant. Thanksgiving, they said, belongs
unto God. 1 Corinthians 4, 7 says, what
do we have we have not received? John the Baptist said, a man
can receive nothing except it be given him. So all thanksgiving
belongs unto God. God doesn't thank men for doing
anything for Him. No, men, true worshippers, thank
God for doing it all for them. Thanksgiving and honor. No honors
are conferred on men in heaven but only Jesus Christ. And power
and might. Not by might or power of the
flesh, but by his Spirit, saith the Lord. All hail the power
of the Lord Jesus. All right, they said all this
belongs unto our God forever and ever. Our God. All these things. Blessing, glory,
wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might belong unto
our God. And especially, salvation 100%
belongs unto our God forever and ever. And their last word
is, Amen. That's the way it is. I hope
you say Amen to everything they said. And I hope you are a true
worshipper and are doing and saying what they are doing right
now. Until next Sunday, may the Lord
make it so with you. Amen. Okay. you
