Oh, I sure like that. That was such
a blessing. Thank you. Psalm 33. Some say this is a Psalm of David. It may be. It's not attributed
to David. I know most of the Psalms that
come before this, they are said to be written by David. And several
of the Psalms that come after it are said to be written of
David. But I don't know who wrote this.
It doesn't really matter. It's written by the Spirit of
God, isn't it? Whoever the inspired writer is,
though, he's certainly determined by the power of the Spirit of
God to bless the name of Jehovah. And he's engaged himself to praise
the name of the Lord that is founded upon the awareness of
the faithfulness of God, the mercy of God, and the truth of
God. And I'd say if we're going to
sum up this psalm, Psalm 33, we find it to be a psalm of rejoicing. That is, rejoicing in the Lord
of all creation, rejoicing in the Lord of all providence, rejoicing
in the Lord of all grace, rejoicing in the Lord of all creation,
rejoicing in the Lord of all providence. What is providence?
Someone asked me going out the building the other Sunday. I
used the word providence and they were visiting. They said,
what in the world do you mean by the word providence? And you
know, sometimes we take for granted. Everybody knows what these words
mean. I said, well, it means that our
God who ordained everything is bringing everything He ordained
to pass. That's what providence means.
It means that God is directing everything to the end that He
has already appointed in order to bring to pass His purpose
of redemption. So everything is running right
on schedule. Nothing moves or wiggles or exists
except by the will of God. That's what we mean by providence.
And in this psalm, the psalmist is rejoicing in the God of all
creation, in the God of all providence, and in the God of all salvation,
in the God of all grace. And having set himself to worship
the Lord and to bless the Lord, He encourages us to join Him. He says in verse 1, Rejoice in
the Lord, O ye righteous. In other words, not satisfied
to rejoice only Himself, He would have all of the righteous join
Him. Will you not, you who are righteous
in the Lord Jesus, will you not from your heart yield up to your
God this morning that eternal praise for which He is so deserving? You want to do that, don't you?
We want to worship Him. Of all the desires in your soul, We come here to this building. There are a lot of things. We
want to grow in grace. We want to be instructed in the
Word of God. We want to fellowship with one
another. It's so good to see the brethren. It's so good to
see you again. to see people that we haven't
seen for so long. So there are several reasons
why we do assemble together. But the first reason and the
main reason we come together is to worship and bless and praise
the Lord Himself, isn't it? That's why we're here. I mean,
it's good to be comforted from the Word of God. We want to do
that. We want to be comforted. We want to be instructed. We
want a fellowship. We want to embrace one another. We want to get to know each other
better. But here's why we're here. First and foremost, to
rejoice in the Lord. That is to render to our God
that praise and worship. To bless the name of the Lord
who made us, who guides us, who saves us, who preserves us, who
directs our path, who has justified us and whom the Lord Jesus has
already glorified us. We desire to worship Him and
bless Him. And so the psalmist, who not
only worships the Lord Himself, would have all of us who are
the people of God join with Him. Join with Him. Now, there are
several things in this psalm. Let me break it down for you.
Number one, here is the command to praise Jehovah. In verses 1-5. And I'll just
give you a brief outline of the entire psalm as we look at this
rejoice in the Lord. That's the title of the psalm,
the title of the message, Rejoice in the Lord. In the first five
verses, here's the command to praise Jehovah. In verse 1, rejoice
in the Lord. Now that is virtually a repetition
of the last verse of the 32nd Psalm. Look at the 32nd Psalm
in verse 11. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
ye righteous, and shout for joy, ye that are upright in heart. We rejoice in the Lord for His
great salvation. In Psalm 31 and 7, I will be
glad and rejoice in Thy mercy, for Thou hast considered my trouble. Oh, what trouble we were in!
In the fall of Adam. And in our own guilt. What trouble
we were in. That we could not get ourselves
out of. That we did not want to get ourselves
out of. But God considered our trouble. Even before we got ourselves
in trouble. He considered our trouble. And
the psalmist said, I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy. For our God considered us. We
rejoice in His great salvation. In Isaiah 61 and verse 10, the
prophet said, I will greatly rejoice in the Lord. My soul
shall be joyful in my God. For He hath clothed me. That is, He didn't leave me naked.
As I was in the fall of Adam, For He hath covered me. He hath
covered me. I didn't cover myself. He hath
covered me. With what? The robe of righteousness. For my righteousnesses are as
filthy rags. He hath covered me with the robe
of righteousness. This is a perfect garment. This
is the garment of the righteousness of the Lord Jesus. As a bridegroom,
decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride, adorneth herself
with her jewels. After all, He chose us to be
the bride of Christ Jesus. unto salvation before the foundation
of the world in the blessed Savior? And so we rejoice in the Lord
in His free and sovereign grace. Our Lord Jesus, He has come and
saved us by the shedding of His blood, thereby establishing righteousness
for us. You remember the Apostle Paul
gave us three marks of a child of God in Philippians chapter
3. We rejoice in Christ Jesus or
we worship God in spirit. He said, first of all, we are
the circumcision who worship God in spirit. We rejoice in
Christ Jesus and we have no confidence in the flesh. We rejoice in Christ
Jesus. We rejoice in who He is. He's
God and He's man. And we rejoice in what He has
already accomplished. He has redeemed us to God by
His blood. Redemption, as you have said,
is an accomplished work by the Savior Himself. And we rejoice
in His work of redemption and reconciliation. We rejoice in
Him. We rejoice in Him. Yes, we accomplish. We rejoice in His accomplishment. But we rejoice in the accomplishment
because of who accomplished it. You see, the death of the Savior
is of value because of who He was. That gives validity to His
work. Other men died on crosses, but their deaths didn't do anybody
any good. Well, why did His death mean
everything to God? Why did His death satisfy God's
law? Why did His death justify all
of God's elect people? Because of who He was. He's the
Son of God with power as evidenced by His resurrection from the
dead. That empty tomb declares He's
the Son of God with power. He justifies by His death. We rejoice in that great salvation. And then we rejoice in the Lord
for His holy character. Listen to this verse. Psalm 97
and 12. Rejoice in the Lord. Again, he
says, ye righteous. And this keeps on coming up.
Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous. And give thanks at the remembrance
of His holiness. we can rejoice and give thanks
in the holiness of the Lord. Not being fearful of God's holiness
as though He, because He is holy, will reject us or refuse us or
cast us away. or throw us into hell, but we
can give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness knowing that
He who is holy has been satisfied through the substitutionary death
of His Son. And God in His holiness can look
at us and does look at us through the merits of His Son, and He's
satisfied with us. Because we're in His Son. We're
united to His Son eternally. And when He looks at us, He sees
His Son. He sees His Son. He says, this
is My beloved Son in whom I'm well pleased. He looks at you.
He says, this is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. He
looks at you. He says, this is My beloved Son
in whom I am well pleased. He looks at all of His people.
He says, this is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. The
holiness of God. Yes, we respect God's holiness. We love God's holiness. We are
in awe of God's holiness. But we're not fearful that God,
because of His holiness, will cast us away. But rather, God,
because He's a holy God, will still embrace us in His Son. We rejoice in His holiness. We rejoice in the Lord for His
holy character. And then we rejoice in the Lord
for His providential goodness. Listen to Habakkuk 3. 17 and
18. Although the fig tree shall not
blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines. The labor of
the olive shall fail. The field shall yield no meat.
The flock shall be cut off from the fold. There shall be no herd
in the stalls. Boy, that's bleak. If you're a farmer, This is as bad as it gets. Yet,
yet, I will rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation. Now, it is absolutely a fact These
are dark days and in many ways sad times in which we live. Somebody said these are sad times
economically. The economy is in ruins. These
are sad days politically. I was recently reading about Patrick
Henry. And I was listening to somebody
the other day talking about George Washington. And you wonder, where
are the Patrick Henry's and the George Washington's today? This
guy was talking about George Washington. He said he was so
worried during his time in office as president, and especially
after his presidency, that he would say something or do something
that would embarrass the nation. Where are men like that today
in politics? And then morally, these are sad
days. Wickedness abounds. Immorality
and perversion is widely accepted. Spiritually, these are sad days. Religious error runs rampant. False gospels are abundant. And not only economically and
politically and morally and spiritually are these sad times, but even
personally. When I look within, there's sad
times personally. Because I see more of my own
guilt. And I don't know about you. I
read some of these commentators about, but grow in grace and
in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. I tell you, to
me, my understanding of growing in grace is not growing in holiness. There is no growth in holiness,
my friend. You either are or you're not.
That is right, isn't it? You either are holy or you're
not holy. You're holy in Christ Jesus or you're not holy. To
me, growth in grace is a growth in your realization that you
need grace. And as you get older, you realize
a little bit more the depths of your own wickedness. And so,
as a believer, I speak now personally. These are sad times personally.
And I'm realizing a little bit more what the Apostle Paul meant
when he said, O wretched man, that I am. And we can talk about the state
of the world and that's all true. There's no denying that. But
there's the state of me personally. That's real sad to me. And I look within and there's
no goodness within. There's nothing within me to
ever cause me to rejoice. Ever. I'm just, it fills me with more
sadness and more grief. And then for some people there,
these are sad times physically. There may be some of you who
you're battling maybe a disease or age. You don't feel good. This isn't about rejoicing. Listen,
it isn't about rejoicing in our circumstances. It's not rejoicing in how you
feel. People say, well, I feel good
today, so I'm happy. So your happiness, your joy is
dependent upon how you feel then. Well, that's not too good. Because
as you get older, or if you are stricken with some disease, which
you will be sooner or later, then you won't have any happiness
at all. You won't have any joy at all. The psalmist says, rejoice
in the Lord. If you are to find any happiness,
you won't find it in this old world. You sure enough are not
going to find it in politics. You're not going to find it in
the morals of the world, and I'll guarantee you, you're not
going to find it in yourself personally. So stop looking within. When you look within, you'll
see your sinfulness, then look away from yourself to the Lord
of glory. Lord, capital L, capital O, capital
R, capital D, Jehovah! God our Savior. You can rejoice
in Him now. Because He's God, our salvation. Father, Son, and Spirit. The great I Am. You can rejoice
in Him. The Father who chose us. Who
ordained us to be His children. Who accepted us in the Beloved. The Son who redeemed us. Who
reconciled us unto God. Who paid our debt in full. He canceled our indebtedness.
I don't owe anything to the justice of God. I have a righteousness
before God. I have a right standing before
God. I have it now. I've had it back
yonder. I have it now. I'll always have
it. Nobody can ever cancel that out.
And I rejoice in the Spirit of God who quickened me who revealed
Christ Jesus to me, I see the glory of God in the face of Christ
Jesus. I see the beauty of the Savior.
The wonders of God's grace. How He could show mercy to a
sinner like me without violating His justice or His holiness. And His Gospel is still just glorious to me. It's just wonderful
to me. It still breaks my heart. It
still touches me. Doesn't this Gospel still touch
you? It just pulls on your heart strings and causes you to rejoice
in the Lord! This is what the psalmist would
have us do. Rejoice in the Lord! In the Lord! Well, I don't feel good. Neither do I. My sinuses are
killing me! But I'll rejoice in the Lord.
and wipe my nose, and clear my throat, and rejoice in the Lord. You don't know what I'm going
through. Well, I don't. I don't. But He does. He does. The Apostle Paul in prison in
Rome, Wrote to the church in Philippi. He said, rejoice in
the Lord. And again, he didn't hear me
the first time, I say it again. Again I say, rejoice in the Lord. In the Lord. Can't you rejoice
in the Lord? You can rejoice in the Lord,
can't you? Now sure you can. If you're the Lord's people,
you can. If you're righteous, you can. And you do. You do. Oh ye righteous, you who have
a right standing before God, you rejoice in Him, don't you?
Because deep down in your soul, you know He saved your soul. God put your feet on a rock,
a solid rock, Christ Jesus. Your standing is sure. You're justified before God.
God's declared you to be justified. Look at the rest of verse 1.
This business of praising the Lord, that's comely. That's only
fitting for people who are upright before God. How can you do anything
less? Look at the next verse. Praise
the Lord with the harp. Sing unto Him with the psaltery
and an instrument of ten strings. Sing unto Him a new song. A new song. You know where this
new song comes from? It comes from a new heart. That's
where a new song comes from. It comes from a new heart. What
is a new heart? It's a heart of faith. It's a
heart that believes Him. It's a heart that God gives you.
He takes away the heart of stone and gives you a new heart that
trusts Him and rests in Him and believes Him. What is the new song that the
new heart sings? Turn over to Psalm 40 and verse
3. Psalm 40 and verse 3. And I know this is speaking of
our Lord Jesus. But it's also a psalm of David
and all of David's children. Spiritual seed. Look at verse
3. He's put a new song in my mouth. Even, here it is. This is the
new song. Praise unto our God. That's the
new song. That's the new song. Our old song was a song of praise
to ourselves. That's the old song. Praise to
our intellect. It was a song of praise to our
righteousness. The old song was praise to our
free will. That was our old song. We sung
that loud. I sung it loud for years. Praise
to my free will. Praise to my decision. Boy, I
don't like that song anymore. You like that song? I can't stand
that song anymore. I just want to stop my ears when
somebody sings that song now. The only song I want to hear
now is praise to our God. I won't hear any other song,
Bill, will you? I'm just not going to listen to you. Any other
song is way out of tune. It's just awful. I can't listen to it. I can't
listen to it. Watch this in verse 3. He hath
put a new song in my mouth. God puts it there. And I tell
you, if God puts it there, you're going to have to sing it. You will sing this song. This
new song of praise to our God. If He ever does something for
you, you will sing this song. Don't tell me, well, I believe
salvation is of the Lord, but I can't say it. Because somebody
will get mad at me. No. If God ever puts this song
in your mouth, you will sing it. and you'll sing it unashamedly. If you're a preacher, you'll
preach it. If they run you out, if they drive you out of town,
if they vote you out, you'll have to preach it, won't you?
You'll have to preach it. Even praise to our God, I've
got to preach it. I've got to sing it. I've got
to... Shut up! We don't want to hear
that song. Well, that's the song I'm going
to sing. Even if I have to sing a solo. I'm going to sing it. If I have to sing it out of tune,
I'm going to sing it. I'm going to sing that song. It's a new song. It's a song
of victory. Like the song of Moses and the
children of Israel. Listen to this. Then sang Moses
and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord. And Spake saying, I will sing
unto the Lord. For He hath triumphed gloriously
the horse, and His rider hath He thrown into the sea. The Lord is my strength and song,
and He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will prepare
Him in habitation. My Father is God, and I will
exalt Him. The Lord is a man of war." Really? I thought he's just a meek, little,
mild Jesus. He's a man of war. The Lord is
His name. Pharaoh's chariots and His host
hath He cast into the sea. His chosen captains are drowned
in the Red Sea. He drowned them. The Lord did
that? I thought the devil did that.
I thought only the devil killed people. The Lord did that. The
depths covered them. They sank to the bottom as a
stone. Thy right hand, O Lord, has become
glorious in power. Thy right hand, O Lord, hath
dashed in pieces the enemy." Listen, our Lord Jesus went to
the cross. He went as the captain of our
salvation. And He has dashed in pieces the
enemy. I know sometimes you read the
old writers. And they write about our Lord's
active obedience being His life. And then His death, they say
that's His passive obedience. Well, and I've never talked to
these preachers about this. At least if I have, I don't remember
it. But I disagree with that. I really
disagree with that. And our Lord's death, and I realize
He was the lamb led to the slaughter. But He was very active in His
death. He was very active. He laid down His life. He was crushing the head of the
serpent. He was dealing with the forces
of darkness on the cross. He is bearing our sin. Our sin
debt is imputed to Him. He is paying our sin debt. He
is redeeming us from the curse of the law. That sounds active
to me. Redeeming us and reconciling
us? That doesn't sound passive to
me. Does it to you, Gary? That sounds active to me. He
is the Captain of our salvation. And crushing the head of the
serpent? That doesn't sound passive. That sounds like the Lord is
a man of war. And we're more than conquerors
through Him who loved us. In Revelation chapter 20, John
said, and I saw an angel come down from heaven. Who is that?
That's the Lord Jesus, the messenger of the covenant. He had the key
of the bottomless pit. He's got the key. And look what
He's got in His hand. He's got a great chain. And He laid hold on the dragon. When did He do this? On the cross. That old serpent which is the
devil and Satan. And He bound him. That's what
He said He'd do in John chapter 12. Remember in John 12, the
Savior said, now is the judgment of this world. Now is the prince
of this world cast out. He's talking about His death
on the cross. He bound Satan on the cross in
fulfillment of Genesis 3 and verse 15. Active. Removing our sins from
us. Separating them from us as far
as the east is from the west. Burying them in the depths of
the deepest sea. As you said the other night,
whatever metaphor you choose to look at in the scriptures.
Very much active. We sing the song of victory. It's a new song that we sing.
Because it's ever new, isn't it? It's ever new. You want to see how active He
was? See Him coming out of the tomb. Conquered death. Conquered the grave. And He said
to His disciples, because I live, you shall live. There is our
hope for the resurrection. 1 Corinthians chapter 15. He
came out victorious. He conquered sin. He conquered
Satan. He conquered death. We sing that
song of victory. That new song. And we'll still
be singing that new song in heaven's everlasting glory. They sung
a new song saying, boy, I'm going to be there singing that new
song. Won't you? I will be. They sung a new song
saying, thou art worthy to take the book. and opened the seals
thereof. For thou was slain and hast redeemed
us to God by thy blood." You bought us. You bought us from
the curse of the law. The law that held us captive
and you paid the ransom. God Himself said, release them
from going down to the pit. I found the ransom. The Lord
Jesus and His substitutionary death. Thou hast redeemed us
to God by Thy blood out of every kindred, tongue, people, and
nation. We sing a new song. And really,
every day we sing a new song because His mercies are new every
day, aren't they? We sing a new song every day. Isaac Watts said, Let those refuse
to sing who never knew our God. But children of the heavenly
King may speak or sing their joys abroad. May sing their joys
abroad. Go back to Psalm 33. And I'm
going to have to skip over a lot of this. I think in verse 4.
For because the word of the Lord is right. His spoken Word is
right. His written Word is right. His
incarnate Word is right. He speaks right things. The Word
of God tells us of right things. It tells us how God can be just
and justify the ungodly. I wish I could find a few more
people interested in that. All His works are done in truth
and faithfulness. Oh, our God is a faithful God. Faithful to His covenant promises.
Faithful to do what He said He'll do. He loveth righteousness and judgment. The earth is full of the goodness
of the Lord. Here's the second thing. The
creative glories of Jehovah. Verses 6-9. By the Word of the Lord were
the heavens made, and all the hosts of them by the breath of
His mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap.
He layeth up the depth in storehouses. Oh, how great is our God! You
know, the Word made these. I'm talking
about the incarnate Word. All things were made by Him.
Without Him was not anything made that was made. So therefore, verse 8, let all
the earth fear the Lord. Worship the Lord. Let all the
inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. Will you not be
in awe of God? In awe of God. Because He spake
and it was done. That's the power of His Word. I tell you, His Word still has
power. Preach it. Preach it. He commanded, it stood fast. That's the creative glories of
Jehovah. And then thirdly, here's the
providence of Jehovah, verses 10-11. Verse 10, the Lord bringeth
the counsel of the heathen to naught. Oh, men make their plans, schemes,
but only that which is of the Lord shall come to pass. He maketh
the devices of the people of none effect. Verse 11, the counsel of the
Lord, the will of the Lord, the purpose of the Lord standeth
forever. What God is purpose, that's what
comes to pass. The thoughts of His heart to
His people of all generations. The thoughts of peace, mercy,
and grace. That stands fast now. Now look
at verse 12 because I want to get to this. Here's the fourth
thing. The people of Jehovah. Blessed
or blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. and the people
whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance." That word blessed,
happy, well-off, to be envied, highly favored. What nation is
this? Well, on the surface, I suppose
it's Israel. But really, the nation that the
psalmist is speaking of is not an earthly nation at all. And it's certainly not the United
States of America. It's spiritual Israel. It's a nation made up of a people
chosen out of every nation, kindred, tribe, and tongue. It's the greatest
nation that's ever existed. It's a nation that actually preceded
the existence of all other nations. And it's the only nation that
will exist when every other nation has ceased to exist. This nation. It's really the
only nation that matters to Jehovah. For it is the nation that the
Lord chose to be His special treasure. His own possession. Proverbs 14.34 says, Righteousness
exalted this nation. This nation perpetually is exalted. It's always exalted. The justifying righteousness
of the Lord Jesus Christ imputed to this nation keeps this nation
always in a state of acceptance with God. That's what the Bible
says. Righteousness exalteth a nation. Isaiah 26 says, this is this
righteous nation that keepeth the truth. The gospel of God's
grace is entrusted to this righteous nation. How does that word righteous
again? It keeps on coming up, doesn't
it? Isn't that amazing? The gospel of God's grace is
entrusted to this nation. We protect it as a valuable treasure. The Gospel is entrusted to this
nation. And this nation alone is blessed.
For she is blessed with all blessings, all spiritual blessings in the
heavenly places in Christ Jesus. And all other nations rise and
fall and are used by God in His eternal purpose for the preservation
of and the ultimate good of this one nation. And this vast nation consists
of a people redeemed by the Lamb's blood out of every kindred and
tongue and people and nation. Now I'm thankful to live in and
be a citizen of this great republic in which we live, the United
States of America. I'm thankful God's been pleased
to have me be born here where I can hear the gospel of His
free grace, read His Word, where I've been brought to believe
His gospel and I have the freedom to preach His gospel. The Lord has mightily used this
nation to spread His Gospel. A lot of preachers have gone
forth from this nation preaching the Gospel. This nation has been
used to pass out Bibles throughout the world. So the Lord has used
this nation mightily. I know that and I am thankful
for that. But you know and I know this
nation has no use for the glory of God or the gospel of God.
I'm talking about our nation as a whole. Has no need for,
no use for the word of God, the glory of God, the gospel of God.
Have no use for that. But there still remains a nation
blessed of God, ordained of God, redeemed by God, called by God. And that nation will last forever. Peter wrote about this nation.
He said, but you're a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
and a holy nation. He said, you're a peculiar people.
That doesn't mean you're a bunch of oddballs. It means you're
a purchased nation. That's what it means, doesn't
it? You're a purchased nation. that you should show forth the
praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His
marvelous light, which in time past were not a people, but are
now the people of God, which had not obtained mercy, but have
now obtained mercy." This is the greatest nation that ever
was or ever shall be. This is God's nation. This is
the nation with which God has chosen to identify Himself. I'm so thankful to be a member
of that. I'm a citizen of this nation. I'm so thankful. Aren't you? I've placed in this
nation by grace. I didn't have anything to do with
my citizenship in this nation either. It's because God would
have me to be in this nation. This is a redeemed nation. It's
a saved nation. Like old Caiaphas said in John
chapter 12, the Sanhedrin got together and he finally said,
he said, you know nothing at all, he said, nor consider it
expedient that one man should die for the people that the whole
nation perish not. He didn't even know what he was
talking about. This one nation, this one nation had somebody
to die for the nation. I'm a member of that nation.
And somebody died for this nation. And somebody ever lives to make
intercession for this nation. Thank God He chose this nation
in Christ Jesus. And then fifthly, verses 13 and
14. Here's the knowledge of Jehovah.
The Lord looketh down from heaven, He beholdeth all the sons of
men. From the place of His habitation,
He looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. And verse 15. He fashioneth their hearts alike.
He considereth all their works. There is no king saved by the
multitude of an host. A mighty man is not delivered
by much strength. A horse is a vain thing for safety. Neither shall he deliver by any
great strength." I tell you, there is no strength but God's
strength and no salvation but God's salvation. Back then, the
horse was the strongest thing. It pulled the chariots. It was
that upon which a man rode in battle. He said that the strongest
thing available to a man, the strongest animal for flight,
for safety, can avail you nothing. Let me tell you something. You
put forth every effort you can for the salvation of your soul,
you can't save yourself. Salvation is of the Lord. Now
if you are interested in salvation from sin, from Satan, from death. If you are interested in the
forgiveness of your sins, a right standing with God, you hear me
now, flee to Jesus Christ. Salvation is only in Him. No
help anywhere else. There is no strength anywhere
else. It is vain to flee for salvation to anything else or
anybody else. Right? Flee to Christ Jesus. That's what verse 6, salvation
is of and in Jehovah, verses 18 and 19. Behold, the eye of
the Lord is upon them that fear Him. Upon them that hope in His
mercy. To deliver their soul from death.
Deliverance is in the Lord. And to keep them alive in famine. And then finally, Number seven, our
confidence is in Jehovah. Hear the words of the nation.
Verses 20-22. The nation says, we say, our
soul waiteth for the Lord. He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in
Him. Because by His grace we've trusted
in His holy name. Let Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon
us according as we hope in Thee. Our expectation, O Lord, is in
Thee, and in Thee only. Amen.
