sinners, Jesus, lover of my soul. Hallelujah, what a friend Saving,
helping, keeping, loving He is with me to the end Jesus, what
a strength and weakness Let me hide myself in Him Tempted, tried,
and sometimes fated, Be my strength, my victory wins. Alleluia, what a Savior! Alleluia, what a Friend! Saving, helping, keeping, loving,
He is with me to the end. Jesus, what a help in sorrow,
While the billows o'er me roll. Even when my heart is breaking,
He, my comfort, helps my soul. Alleluia, what a Savior! Alleluia, what a friend! Saving, helping, keeping, loving,
He is with me to the end. Jesus, what a guide and keeper,
While the tempest still is high, Storms about me, night or day,
He, my pilot, hears my cry. Alleluia! What a Savior! Alleluia! What a Friend! Saving, helping, keeping, loving,
He is with me to the end. Jesus, I do now believe him,

break, And I no more as now shall sing, But oh, the joy when I
shall wake, Within the palace of the King, And I shall see
him face to face, Until the story's saved by grace, and I shall see
Him face to face And tell the story, saying, by grace Someday
my earthly house will fall I cannot tell how soon it will be But
this I know, my all in all has now a place in heaven for me. And I shall see Him face to face,
and tell the story saved by grace. And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story safe by grace. Someday till then I'll watch
and wait, My lamp all trimmed and burning bright, That when
my Savior opens the gate, My soul to Him they take its flight. And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story saved by grace. And I shall see in face to face,
and tell the story saved by grace. Romans chapter 13. Finish up
this chapter this evening. Start at verse 7 and read to
the end of the chapter. Render therefore to all their
dues, tribute to whom tribute, custom to whom custom, fear to
whom fear, honor to whom honor. Owe no man anything but to love
one another, for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
For this, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not kill,
thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness, thou
shalt not covet. And if there be any other commandment,
it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, thou shalt
love thy neighbor as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbor. Therefore, love is the fulfilling
of the law. And that, knowing the time, that
it is high time to awake out of sleep, for now is our salvation
nearer than when we believe. The night is far spent. The day
is at hand. Let us, therefore, cast off the
works of darkness. Let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk honestly as in the
day, not in rioting, drunkenness, not in chambering. wantonness,
not in strife and envy, but put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ,
and make not provision for the flesh to fulfill the lust thereof. Our great, blessed God of heaven
and earth, creator, sustainer, of this world and all that is
in it. Lord, we are so thankful that
we know that, grateful to know that our God sits on a throne
and does not beg or borrow, leave to sit there, that salvation
belongs to him. And, Lord, we are made willing
in the day of his blessed power. We're so grateful, Lord, that
you said, blessed is the man to whom thou choosest and causes
to approach unto you. And, Lord, you cause us to approach
unto you. You came and sought us, and you
brought us to yourself. You brought us to who you are,
brought us to know what we are, and our weakness and inability.
And, Lord, we find you to be our all in all, our strength,
our comfort, our stay. Oh, Lord, what a Savior, what
a friend is our Lord Jesus Christ. God, meet with us tonight. Meet
with us in power. Meet with us through your precious
word. Give me wisdom. Give me understanding of this
word tonight. Please enable me to make it understandable
and preach it in love and preach it in a way that People may find
fault with God's Word, but could never find fault maybe with me
as I deliver it. Lord Jesus, we pray again for
our lost loved ones, our children, oh Lord, our children, and our
grandchildren. I know that, Lord, we continue
to bring them before you. Lord, we could call their names,
but you know who they are. You know what they are, and you
know where they are. Lord, you can convince them any
time of their great need of Christ, bring them to the end of themselves,
throw them out of the nest, and leave them to flounder until
they come to you. Be with us, please, for Christ's
sake. Amen. Number 509. The sands of time are sinking. The dawn of heaven breaks. The summer bore life's eyes. The fair sweet morn of wings. Dark, dark hath been the midnight. The day spring is at hand, and
glory In Emmanuel's name. O Christ, He is the fountain,
The deep sleep well of love, The streams on earth life-giving,
For deep I'll drink of love. There to an ocean fullness His
mercy doth expand. And glory, glory dwelleth In
Emmanuel's land. Oh, I am my Beloved's, and my
Beloved is mine. He brings a poor vile sinner
into His house of thine. I stand upon His barren, I know
no other stand. Not in their glory dwelleth,
In Emmanuel's land. The bride has not her garland
But her dear bridegroom's face I will not gaze at glory But
on my King of Grace ? Not at the crown be given ? ?
But on His pierced head ? ? The Lamb is all the glory ? ? Of
Emmanuel's name ? They were going, that's where
they were going, heading to Immanuel's land and all the things they went through
before they got there. But he got there. He got to Immanuel's
land, got to God's land, that place where Immanuel gets all
the glory. You don't look at the crown. All right, I want to talk about
love. Love. People like to talk about
a believer's rule of life. They want to use the commandments,
the Ten Commandments. But love is the believer's rule
of life. Look what he said here in verse
8. Oh, no man anything but to love one another. For he that
loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, thou shalt not commit
adultery, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt
not bear false witness, thou shalt not covet, and if there
is any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this
saying, Namely, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Love
worketh no ill to his neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling
of the law. And that, knowing that love fulfills
the law, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep, for
now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is
far spent, the day is at hand, Let us therefore cast off the
works of darkness. Let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk honestly as in the
day, not in rioting, drunkenness, chambering, wantonness, not in
strife and envy, but put you on the Lord Jesus Christ. Make
not provision for the flesh and the lust to fulfill the lust. I will start here in verse eight. I often end up a letter sometimes
with this verse of scripture. Has anybody got that debt paid?
Oh, no man anything but to love him.
You reckon you got that debt paid up? That's a pretty good debt, ain't
it? Oh, no man anything. but to love one another. Now,
a lot of folks think this verse has been to discourage people
not buying on credit or borrowing money in any way. But that's
not what this is talking about at all. Most people couldn't
own a home, couldn't drive a car, couldn't own a car, or continue
in business without borrowing money. They just couldn't do
it. And it's not forbidden in the scriptures. We look at this
verse in the context of what we just went on before it. You
know, it continues talking about obedience, respect, honor, and
all the things that we, you know, tribute to whom tribute, honor
to whom honor, fear to whom honor, and when he comes down to say
it, oh, no man anything but to love. You know, I tell you what,
You know, pardoned parents are due respect, due honor. Leaders are due honor and respect
and obedience. Husbands and fathers are due
submission. Leaders are due honor and support. And these are things that when
you fulfill them, the best way to do it is by love. What else
could you do for anybody other than love? When you're talking
about honor to whom honor, tribute to whom tribute, fear to whom
fear, and when you think about that, when it all says and done,
the person that you honor, love one another. Just love one another.
That's what he's talking about. And you know, I want you to look
with me in Galatians chapter 5. Galatians chapter 5, verse
13. You know, This is the answer to everything
that's above. He forbids them to owe anything
by any man, that is, to fulfill from any man what it is his due. And look what he said here in
verse 13, Galatians 5. For brethren, we've been called
unto liberty, freedom. Freedom from the law, only use
not liberty for an occasion to the flesh. Don't use your freedom,
your liberty to do what you want to do and do not as occasion
to give into your flesh. But by love, serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled
in one word, even in this, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. And oh my, What he's telling
us is don't owe any man anything at all. That is, to withhold
from any man what he's due. Don't withhold it from him. I
know some, you know, some people find it very hard to deal with
things like that. But look what the next verse
says. You know, for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Now I tell you what, that's fulfilling the law. That's what it says.
And it says this again over two or three other places, but this
is what he said. For thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt
not bear false witness. Thou shalt not covet. And if
any other commandment is briefly comprehended in this saying,
thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Now, the first table
of the law has respect to God. God said, have no gods before
me. Take not the name of the Lord in vain. Him only shalt
thou worship. And I'm a jealous God. And there's
four things that it talks about. But these here relate to man
to man, how we're to relate to one another, what we're supposed
to do. And all this second table has less to do with our neighbors,
with our neighbors. Our love for God, I know this
will lead us to worship Him. I know it will lead us to worship
Him. We don't want no idols. I don't want no idols. I don't
want no idols at all, and God forbids idols. And I see people
all the time having this image of Jesus, and they put up crosses
all over the place, and they do that, and God said, don't
do that. God said, don't make anything
in the heavens, anything in the earth, anything below the earth,
anything in the sea. Don't do anything. Don't make
an image of me. I'm a spirit. I'm a spirit. And nobody knows what Christ
looks like. And we won't know till we get
there. But oh my, our love for God will certainly lead us to
worship him, not have any idols, not to take his name in vain.
And if we love our neighbors and what, you know, Our Lord,
they asked our Lord this, a Pharisee come to him, a lawyer did, said,
who is my neighbor there? Who is he? And you know what
illustration he used? He said, there was a man going
down from Samaria to Jericho, and he fell among thieves, and
they robbed him, and they beat him, and they left him on the
roadside. Here comes the law, it went on
the other side. Here comes a priest, he went
on the other side. Here comes a man, a Samaritan,
a Samaritan dog. He finds that fella in the ditch,
picks him up, carries him to an inn, pays his
fare, and has him mended up, and has oil poured in, and has
him taken care of, and leaves him there at that inn and pays
his debt. So what that tells us is that when you love people,
you do things for them, that when they see that need, you
automatically do it. You don't look for it, you just
do it. And oh my, we love our neighbors, we love ourselves.
We'll put forth every effort to treat him like we would be
treated. And I know this, we'll not steal
from him. We'll not steal from him. We won't covet his wife, we won't
covet his property, we won't lie on him, and we certainly
won't take his life. We certainly won't do that. And
I'll tell you if one of the awfulest things people can do is character
assassination. Character assassination. That
means that you take it on yourself to decide what a person ought,
how they ought to be treated, how they ought to be reacted
to. And, you know, saying and reputing what is somebody else
said to you, some slander that somebody gave to you. Oh, my. And rumors, rumors, you know. A man, the scriptures tells us
if you have hate in your heart, you just murdered a man. Murdered
a man. That's why it says murder the
man. And here he's talking about, you know, we see our neighbors
in need, you know, we ought to love our neighbors as ourselves
and in every effort to treat them, treat them like we want
to be treated. How would you like somebody to
treat you? I want to be treated graciously,
kindly, lovingly, forgivingly, forbearing with, long-suffering
with me, putting up with me, bearing my burdens. Does that sound reasonable? Oh, look what he says here in
verse 10. I love this verse of Scripture. I've quoted it so
many times. Love worketh no ill to his neighbor,
therefore love is the fulfilling of the Lord. Love works, but it don't work
ill. It's not trying to find a fault. It's not trying to find something
wrong. It doesn't work to try to do something to hurt him,
something to offend him, something to make him feel bad. No, no. He'll not willingly harm
him. You know, love work is no ill
to his neighbor. Therefore, love is a fulfilling
of the law. You know, a man who truly loves
his neighbor will not willingly harm him. This won't do it. Rather,
he'll do everything in his power to promote their happiness, and the whole law is comprehended
in this one saying, love, one word. Look with me in 1 Corinthians
13. First Corinthians 13. Look what it says here. And of course,
this is Christ perfectly. This is Christ perfectly. It
always says in one word, love. Love won't work ill. won't try to harm, won't try
to do damage to somebody or someone. Though I speak with the tongues
of men and of angels and have not charity which is love, I
am become as a sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal. And though
I have the gift of prophecy and I understand every mystery, And
I have all knowledge, and I have faith so that I can remove mountains,
and have not charity. Look what he said, I'm nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and I give
my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profits me nothing. Charity, love, suffers long,
and is kind. Charity envieth not. Charity
bonneth not itself. It's not puffed up, making a
saint or something, you're not. So love, we're back over in our
chapter 13. Love worketh no ill to his neighbor.
No ill. And this is what he said in verse
11. And that knowing the time, Knowing the time, you know what
time it is right now? It's late, very late. Knowing the
time, we know the time in which we
live, that knowing the time, Now it is high time to awake
out of sleep, for now is our salvation nearer than when we
believed. Knowing the time, this is a special time. It's a very
critical hour he's talking about. He's talking about the day of
salvation. The day of salvation, that's
what he's talking about here. This is the day that we're living.
Knowing right now, knowing the time, this is the day of grace.
This is the day of mercy. This is the day of Christ being
the Savior. This is the day that Christ is
the King. This is the day that Christ rules
and reigns. This is the day. This is the
day of grace and mercy in Christ. And oh my, I want you to look
with me in Hebrews chapter three. Hebrews chapter three. I want
you, this is what we're talking about. And you know, while the
gospels preached, While we still have our right minds, it's time to seek the Lord. I've
often said, I want on my tombstone, here lies a lifelong seeker after
the Lord. A lifelong seeker after the Lord.
Oh my, it's time to seek the Lord while the gospel's preached.
When we talk about faculties, oh my goodness, I don't know
how many people that I've met over the years, and you talk
to them, and you try to witness to them, and you try to invite
them to a service, and you try to talk to them about the gospel,
and try to talk to them before they get in a shape that they
can't pay any attention to you. And oh my, they end up, they
don't know who they are, they don't know to brush their teeth,
they don't know how to comb their hair, they don't know how to
get in and out of bed. I can think of several people
that I, over the years, when they got right down to, you know,
long years before they got in such a shape, you're witness
to them. And most of the time they just drop their head and
tap their foot, you know, get this over, just quit talking
about that. Then they all of a sudden they're in a nursing
home and they don't know nothing. And then the difference is, When your mother was in the nursing
home before the Lord took her home, went up there to visit
her, and her voice was weak, but you'd watch, she'd start
singing. What a day that'll be. He loved me before the world
began. He loved me before I ever was. She started singing it. You had
to get right down on her ear. That's what I mean. You know,
we may get to where we don't know who we are. We really may
get that bad. But if we know Christ and Christ
knows us, that's all that will matter when we get that bad.
Because he'll know us. We may get that bad of shape.
We really might. But bless his name, he knows
us. If we know him right now, it's because he knew us. If we
love him, it's because he loved us. first. Oh my, knowing the
time. Oh, look what it said here in
Hebrews 3.12. Talking about this here, knowing
the time. Take heed, brethren. He's talking
to brothers now. Lest there be any of you an evil
heart of unbelief and departing from the living God. But while,
but exhort one another. while it is called today. Today,
lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For
we are made partakers of Christ. Now listen to this. If we hold
the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end. This is
a warning. Promises on one side, warnings
on the other. If you go way too far over here,
the promises, and then you know, next thing you know, you come
up and you got on this one. God's got this, God's got this
narrow way for us to stay on. And I tell you, the Bible is
written for us, for us. Then back over in our text. Oh
my, as long as we're still in our right mind, it's time to
seek the Lord. And you know, the primary, primary
interpretation of this verse is to believers, to believers
that knowing the time that now it is high time to awake out
of sleep for now is our salvation nearer than when we believe.
You know, believers, you know, it's about believers that's grown
careless, careless, indifferent. in their relationship to Christ,
in their relationship to the church. That's what he's talking
about. It's time to wake out, wake up
out of this indifference. Wake up out of this carelessness.
Get your attention on Christ and keep it about the master
and his business. And that's what he says, for
now is our salvation. Now is our salvation, never.
You know, our final salvation and our deliverance and our eternal
rest is nearer now than when we first believed. Much nearer
now than when we first believed. I've been preaching to you for
46 years, and I'll tell you something, I'll not get in another 10 or
12, I really believe that. The Lord's blessed me with some
good health, but all I was looking today in the book, You know,
I put every time somebody dies, and the day they die, I got a
book back there to keep all that in. We lost five people out of
this congregation in less than a year. And then from 23 to 24, we lost
three more. We lost a husband and a wife
within one year. So I think it's time to wake
up. Our salvation's right here. And I'll tell you, it's nearer
than when we believed. That what he's talking about,
our final entrance into glory, our final rest, it's nearer right
now than it ever has been. One of these days, it ain't gonna
be near, it's gonna be there. Oh my goodness. Oh my, we're
going to be called away from this earth in just a little while. I can remember when I was a teenager and I can
remember being a young man, I can remember so many things. And
then all of a sudden you snap your finger and you're went from
25 to 75, 50 years ago, just that quick. to go? But I started way back
there as a believer. Now, I'm closer to the end than
I was. I got less, I got less places,
I got less time to go than I had when I started. Our relationship, our relationship
with Christ ought to be everything that we are concerned about more
than anything else. our relationship with Christ.
You know, when you've got somebody in your family that has troubles
and have heartaches and trials and things, you know what the
person does, first thing they do is start calling on Christ
for it. But you've got to have a good relationship with Christ.
You've got to have the right relationship with Christ. And,
oh, to have our relationship with Christ, that's everything. Everything else will fall into
place if we have that wonderful relationship with Christ. And
then look what he says down here in verse 12. He said, the night is far spent. The day is at hand. Let us therefore
cast off the works of darkness. Let us put on the armor of light. And what he's talking about is
the present time of life. The present time of our life
is far spent for most of us. And it's called the night. You
know why it's called night? Because this life on earth is
dark, there's darkness everywhere you look. Oh, the darkness in
this world, the darkness of religion, the darkness of politics, the
darkness of social media, the darkness of the relationship
that men with men and women with women, oh, the thing, the darkness
that we live in in this age. And it's called night because
this life on earth at its best is filled with the works of darkness
out here in this old world, huh? Oh my, error, hate, sin, disease,
death, war. You know how many wars are going
on right now? I've read today of 28,000 people
killed in one place in Africa. There's another place that these
people, because they don't like their ethnicity, they went over
and killed 1,100 people in one town. That's darkness. And then the
darkness of the preaching, the darkness of men having the understanding
of the scriptures. But oh my, war, poverty. That's the lot of people that
live in this valley of death and darkness. Oh, bless the Lord's
name. Our glorious day of deliverance
is near, near. And look what he says. Now we
need to give diligence to make our calling and election sure.
And that's what he says, cast off the works of darkness, cast
them off. You see darkness coming around,
you're getting caught up in it and getting caught up in the
things of the world, cast them off! Cast them off! Oh, my. Oh, put on, put on. Give less time to the things
of flesh, more to seek in the kingdom of God. I got a, I had
a message years and years ago called spiritual arithmetic. Spiritual arithmetic, and you
know what the first thing in spiritual arithmetic is? Seek
ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. That's first. Oh, my. And I tell you, fling
off those things that don't contribute to your well-being. Look in Ephesians.
I want you to see this. I never even looked at my watch
when I started. But look what it says over here
in Ephesians chapter 6. Talking about cast off the works
of darkness. Cast them off. Oh my. Put on, put on, that's
what he said, put on the armor of light. Look what he said here
in Ephesians 6, 11. Put on the whole armor of God. that you may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil. Oh, he's wily. He's crafty. He's
crafty. And listen, we wrestle. We're
not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore? Take unto you the whole armor
of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day.
And having done all to stand, look at this, stand therefore,
just stand. Heard about with the truth, blessed
plate of righteousness. That's what he says, cast off
the works of darkness, put on the armor of light. Now, Let's
go back over in our text, and I've just got two more verses
to be done. Oh, love is the believer's rule
of life. Verse 13, cast off the works of darkness,
put on the armor of light. Let us walk honestly, and the
margin says decently. But I think honesty, honestly,
is the best word for it. Let us walk honestly in the day,
not rioting, not drunkenness, not in chambering, in wantonness,
not in strife and envy. In what he's saying, let us walk
honestly. Let us live in this world. And
this here, he's saying honestly in the day. Broad daylight, the
night's far spent, the night's gone. We're just, we're in the
valley of the shadow of death, and so here we come. We're living
in broad daylight in the day when people see us, when people
observe us, and people watch us. Live, let us live, let us walk,
let us talk, and conduct ourselves in an honest and honorable way. And that's being exposed to all
men in broad daylight. And when he talks about their
rioting, that means partying, carousing, and drunkenness. And then that not in chambering,
that means in a bed with somebody besides your own wife. That's
what that's talking about. Don't live in immorality. Look
what he goes on to say, and not wantonness. Look here, not strife,
not quarreling. and no jealousy, envy. These
things, oh my goodness, how big unbecoming they are to a believer.
How unbecoming they are to a believer. We ought not do any of those
things, but especially to the believers right on the threshold
of glory. Right here on the threshold of
glory. And I tell you what, We've had some wonderful fellowship
the last couple of weeks with several folks at meals and things. You know, our delight is to have
the fellowship of the gospel. Bonnie wrote us today and said,
it's okay if I come if I wear a mask, you know. She said, I've
got to be there. God's got to be in the sermon.
Gotta be here, you know, to have the fellowship of the gospel.
And our, best and wonderful most companions as those that's been
redeemed by the Lord Jesus Christ. They're the best people on the
earth. They're the salt of the earth. They're the light of the
world. Oh my, and that word envying,
envying. Oh, that means showing displeasure,
witnessing, hearing of somebody else's advantage or property. of others, and you envy it. You
envy it. Instead of rejoicing in it and
be glad that they've got it. Then look what he says in verse
14. Put ye on, but put ye on the
Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh to fulfill
the lust thereof. And he said, put on the Lord
Jesus Christ. That means to be clothed. clothed
with Christ, clothed in his spotless righteousness by faith, making
a strong confession of him, walking to honor him and glorify him. God give us grace to walk, to love, To forgive, to submit
to our Lord Jesus Christ as He submitted to His Father's will. Oh, to walk like Christ, to be
as like Christ. Oh my, one of these days, He
said, we're going to be conformed to His image, conformed to His
image. And then look what He says here,
make no provision for the flesh. When He talks about the flesh,
He's talking about this old man. That one said, in my flesh dwells
no good thing. Don't make provision for it.
I know we have to eat. I know we have to drink. And
I know we have to go to work. But oh my. You know, let me show
you. Let's look in Romans 8, just
a moment. I want you to see this. Look what he said here in verse
Romans 8, 4, talking about the flesh. that the righteousness of the
law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh.
You can't be saved walking after the flesh. Walking according to the flesh,
but look what he says. But they walk after the spirit.
For they that are after the flesh, the old nature, do mind and pay
attention to the things of the flesh. They're interested in
the flesh. But they that are after the Spirit
of God, they are after the things of the Spirit of God. So, Lord,
my, this old flesh gives us more trouble than anything we can
think of, don't you reckon? Let me close with Philippians
chapter 4, verse 8. I think this is a good verse
scripture to close with. Philippians 4, 8. You know, that's the thing about
it. Believers, they find no fault with God's word. Told you last week that it has
something to say to us in every situation, every circumstance
we have to face in this world, especially our old flesh. Look what he said down here in
verse eight of Philippians chapter four. Finally, brethren, Whatsoever
things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things
are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise, think on these things. Or start thinking about those
kind of things. Oh, God help us. Our Father, blessed name of our
Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for allowing us to meet here
tonight. Thank you for allowing us to look in your precious word.
Lord, I find I find such instructions and warnings. And Lord, I know. Without your grace, I'd make
too much provision for this flesh, worry about it, concern for it. But, O Lord, please, please,
O God, help us to think on these things. Look to our Lord Jesus
Christ, our relationship to him being everything. Lord, let us
love one another, even as you loved us. Help us to care for
one another, pray for one another, be kind and gracious and loving
to one another, forgiving one another, even as God, for Christ's
sake, has forgiven us. Bring glory to yourself through
us, and do whatever's necessary to do that in our hearts, in
our lives, in our homes, in any relationship we have. Do what's
necessary to keep our hearts believing you and cleaving to
you, wanting you and seeking you above all things in this
world. For Christ's sake, amen. Turn
to 303. and you'll be at liberty to go.
303. Jesus, Savior, pilot me. Over life's tempestuous sea,
unknown waves before me roll, hiding rocks and treacherous
show. Chard and compass come from thee. Jesus, Savior, pilot me as a
mother kills her child. Thou canst touch the ocean while
boisterous waves obey thy will. When thou sayest to them, be
still, wondrous sovereign of the sea. Jesus, Savior, pilot
me. I love this one. When at last
I near the... And the fearful breakers roar.
And the fearful breakers roar. Twixt me and the peaceful rest. and the peaceful rest. Then while leaning on thy breast,
may I hear thee say to me, fear not, I will
