Good evening. Let's all stand
together. We'll sing hymn number 49. Hymn number 49. On that fifth verse, we'll say,
Jesus, I do now believe. Jesus, what a friend for sinners
Jesus, lover of my soul Friends may fail me, foes assail me He,
my Savior, makes me whole Hallelujah, what a Savior Hallelujah, what
a friend Saving, helping, keeping, loving He is with me to the end
Jesus, what a strength in weakness. Let me hide myself in Him. Tempted, tried, and sometimes
failing. Be my strength, my victory wins. Hallelujah, what a Savior. Hallelujah. What a friend! Saving, helping, keeping, loving
He is with me to the end Jesus, what a help in sorrow, While
the billows o'er me roll. Even when my heart is breaking,
He, my comfort, helps my soul. Saving, helping, keeping, loving
He is with me to the end Jesus, what a guide and keeper,
while the tempest still is high. Storms about me my Lord takes
me. He, my pilot, clears my pride. Hallelujah, what a Savior. Hallelujah. To your water, friend
Saving, helping, keeping, loving He is with me to the end Jesus, I do now believe Him More
than all in Him I find He hath granted me forgiveness I am His
and He is mine Be seated. Just a few pages back, we'll
sing hymn number 44. Number 44. And can it be. that I should gain an interest
in the Savior's blood. Died He for me who caused His
pain, for me who Him to pity. Amazing love, how can it be That
Thou, my God, shouldst die for me? Amazing love, how can it
be He left His Father's throne above,
so free, so infinite. But in His grace, emptied Himself
of all but love, and bled for Adam's health. Amazing love, how can it be That
Thou, my God, should die for me? Amazing love, how can it
be that thou, my God, shouldst die for me. No condemnation, thou, I dread. I am my Lord's and He is mine. Alive in Him, my living Head,
Enclosed in righteousness divine. Amazing love, how can it be That
Thou, my God, shouldst die for me? Amazing love, how can it
be Romans chapter 8. Romans chapter
8. Read from 16 down to verse 27. We are very grateful to have
Rick and his wife Denise with us. The Spirit itself bears witness
with our spirit that we are the children of God. And if children,
then heirs of God, and join heirs with Christ, if so be that we
suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For
I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not
worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed
in us. For the earnest expectation,
and you need to put creation in here, for the earnest expectation
of the creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of
God. For the creation was made subject
to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected
the same in hope, because the creation itself shall also be
delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious
liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation
groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now, and not only
they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit,
even we ourselves grown within ourselves, waiting for the adoption,
the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope, but
hope that is seen is not hope. For what a man seeth, why doeth
he yet hope for? But if we hope for that that
we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise, the Spirit
also help our infirmities, for we know not what we should pray
for as we ought, but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for
us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searches
the heart knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he
maketh intercession for the saints of God according to the will
of God. Our most blessed, glorious, eternal,
immutable God of heaven and earth, the God who in sovereign mercy
came and saved a multitude out of Adam's fallen race. Had you
not done that, Lord, none of us would ever be saved. Lord,
we bless you for your great, great, great grace and mercy
given us in Christ even before the world ever began. that you
promised us, Lord Jesus, that you would see us all the way
safe home, that we'd be kept by the power of God until the
last days. And so, Lord, we look unto you
tonight. We look not to ourselves. We
look not to anybody in this building. We look not to any man on this
earth. We look to the heaven of heavens,
to our blessed Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, our
Mediator, Our savior, oh, what a savior he is, truly saved us. And Lord, I pray that you send
the Holy Spirit down today or this evening to meet with us.
Lord, give me understanding, give me wisdom in your word.
And Lord, bless the word to the understanding, to the heart.
May we grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ tonight.
May we understand some of these verses that are read. And Lord,
bring glory to yourself in everything that's said and done. Thank you
for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you for my preacher
brethren. Bless them tonight as they gather
to worship. And Lord, forgive us of everything
that's unlike you and have mercy upon our children and our grandchildren
and keep our dear brothers and sisters safe as they travel this
weekend. Keep them and preserve them until
they can come worship with us again. Again, we say, for Christ's
sake, meet with us, please. For Christ's sake, amen. Hymn
number 75. Number 75. Abide with me. Fast falls the eventide. The darkness deepens. Lord, with me abide. When other helpers feel and comforts
flee, Of a helpless soul abide with
thee. Swift to its closest, how harsh
little day. First joys grow dim, its ? Glories
pass away ? Change and decay ? In all around I see ? O Thou who changest not ? Abide
with me ? I need Thy presence the tipters bow. Who like thyself my guidance
day can be? Who cloud and sunshine all abide
with me? Oh, how I work before my closing
eyes. Shine through the gloom and point
me to the skies. Heaven's morning breaks and earth's
faint shadows flee. When I think they've broken the
bond with me. I hope by God's grace this evening
I'll be able to say a few things about these verses that we're
dealing with going through Romans, and first the thing he tells
us here is in verse 17 that we're heirs of God if we're children,
if we're children of God, and the Holy Spirit makes us know
that we're God's children. He's the only one that can make
us know we really belong to God. I can't make you know, you can't
make yourself know, but God can make you know through the Holy
Spirit. And if we're children, then we're heirs, heirs of God,
oh my, and join heirs with Christ. If we're heirs of God, join heirs
with Christ, we MUST have our inheritance. We must have it. We're going to get it. There's
no ifs, ands, or buts about that. But how in the world are we going
to get it? God's purpose of giving us this inheritance, this being
heirs with Christ, is based on this verse right here. If so
be that we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together
with Him. That's what happens to children.
IF WE SUFFER WITH HIM, IF WE SUFFER WITH HIM. AND OH, AND
BECAUSE WE SUFFER WITH HIM, WE'LL ALSO BE GLORIFIED TOGETHER WITH
HIM. THERE'S THREE THINGS THAT I WANT
US TO NOTICE ABOUT THAT SUFFERING WITH HIM, GLORIFIED TOGETHER
WITH HIM. IT TELLS US HERE FIRST OF ALL
THAT CHRIST AND HIS PEOPLE ARE ONE, CHRIST AND HIS PEOPLE ARE
ONE IF WE SUFFER WITH HIM, WITH HIM. And when He suffered, we
suffered. When He died, we died. We were
so warm with Christ that what He did, we did in Him. And that's
why it says in the last part of that verse that we may be
also glorified together with Him, with Him. And the second
thing is, and listen, when He died, His blood is effectual. There's not one for whom He died
that His blood is not going to be effectual for. And His death,
His death when He died, all the blessings that was in that death
is given to us. Every blessing that comes out
of the death of our Lord Jesus Christ is ours. Everything that
Christ accomplished in His death, we get it! We get it! And the
second thing is this, because of this oneness with Him, this
union we have with Him, as He suffered, we're going to have
to suffer, and He suffered in life, we're going to have to
suffer in life. God's called us to suffering, and for His
sake in the Gospels, not just for our sake, but for His sake. And the thing is, is that if
we're not suffering ourselves, we know somebody else that is.
We know what people go through all the time. And so we're called
to suffer, suffer in this body for His sake and the Gospel.
And the third thing I want us to know there, we're still in
this old frail, frail flesh, this body, this dust of the earth,
this frail flesh, and we're SUBJECT to all the firmities of this
flesh, all the afflictions of this flesh, diseases of the body,
and EVENTUALLY, EVENTUALLY the disease or something is going
to get us, and then it's DEATH after that, and we'll have to
SUFFER. Oh, my! Trials, as long as we're
on this Earth, we're going to suffer trials. That's just the
way God made it to be. If we're going to be heirs, He
was an heir, and He was the heir of God, and we're joint heirs
with Him, and if He suffered, what thinks us? He said, The
servant is not above his Lord. Not above his Lord. And then
I'll look down in verse 18, For I reckon, he's carried on with
the same subject, For I reckon that the sufferings, and I like
this right here of this present time, whatever you're going through
at this present time, are not worthy to be compared with the
glory which shall be revealed in us. Not worthy to be compared to
the glory that's revealed in us. You know, no trial, nobody. I don't like a trial. I don't
like to be tried. And I certainly don't like to
suffer. But trials and suffering is, no trial or suffering that
we go through is easy. If trials were without pain and
without discomfort, then it wouldn't accomplish the purpose that God
gets in it to us for. God has a purpose in everything
He sends in our heart and in our lives. And oh, my! You keep Romans and look in James
chapter, that book of James right after Hebrews, the book of James,
look what it says over here in chapter 1. You know, if trials
were without pain and discomfort and without all the things that we go through,
they wouldn't accomplish the purpose to which they're sent.
Look what he said here in James chapter 1, verse 2, My brethren,
and he's talking to my brethren, count it all joy when you fall
into divers temptations. And oh, that's why we say, Lord,
lead us NOT into temptation, knowing, this is something we
know, that the trying of your faith works patience. That's
what he said over in verse chapter 5 of Romans, but let patience
have her perfect work. When you go through these trials
that we may be perfect and entire, and we won't want nothing, we'll
have everything that we need, everything that we need. But
he said in this present time, back over in our text, in this
present time, And when we look, and oh boy, we see it everywhere,
we look at all our sorrows, oh, how much sorrows in this world.
How many mothers sorrow over a child? How many daddies sorrow
over a child? How many people are sorrowing
over something that goes on in their life? With all our sorrows
and sufferings, and trials in light of His eternal glory, when
God will make us just like Himself one of these days, and we'll
be glorified together with Him, and THEN, and it says, glory
shall be revealed in us. Oh, we'll be like Him! We'll
partake in His perfect Kingdom, His blessed Kingdom, and we'll
look on these present things that we're going through right
now as absolutely nothing. Now, let me show you that, 2
Corinthians chapter 4. This almost makes me cry every
time I read this. They're not worthy to be compared
to the glory that's going to be revealed in us. You know,
it don't yet appear what we shall be, but we do know that when
He appears, and He's going to appear, WE SHALL SEE HIM AS HE
IS, AND WE SHALL BE JUST LIKE HIM. BUT LOOK WHAT HE SAID HERE
IN 2 CORINTHIANS 4, 17, FOR OUR LIGHT OF FLICTION, FOR I WENT THROUGH MANY A DAY,
THEY DIDN'T SEEM LIGHT TO YOU, DIDN'T SEEM LIGHT, BUT OUR LIGHT
OF FLICTION, WHICH IS BUT FOR A MOMENT, Just
a moment. Works, it's working, doing what
God intended for it to do. Works for us a far more exceeding
and eternal weight, weight of glory. While we look, not at
the things that we're seeing, but at the things which we don't
see. For everything we look at in this world is temporal, but
the things that we're not seeing, every one of them's eternal.
So whatever we go through, that's why Paul said, not worthy to
be compared. Don't talk about your sufferings
compared to the glory we're gonna have in him. If I lie to afflictions
compared to what Christ suffered, they're very light, very light,
very light. And oh my, then back over here
in our text again, compared with the glory that shall be revealed
in us. You know, God's revealed His
glory in us some in this life. I tell you one thing He revealed
in us, His electing grace. That's a glorious thing, His
electing grace. That glory's been revealed in
us. His effectual calling has been revealed in us. The POWER
of His BLOOD has been revealed in us! The eternal LIFE has been
revealed in us! This effectual calling, ALL that
Christ did for us, and KEPT, KEPT! He said, I should lose
NOTHING, and I tell you, we'll lose NOTHING! Oh, we've already got some glory
already revealed in us, huh? Alright, alright! go down to
verse 19 then and deal with these next three verses. And remember,
put in there the word CREATION, CREATION, CREATION, and you know
it tells us there, For the earnest expectation of the creation waits
for the manifestation of the sons of God. And you know when
you start thinking about that, there s going to be a new heaven
and a new earth. We look for a new heaven and
a new earth, And when He talks about this, that new Heaven and
new Earth, that Creation, is WAITING. It has an EXPECTATION
to get to an END one of these days. When that new Heaven and
new Earth comes, what's the expectation? It's WAITING for it to happen,
but nothing will happen. until God Himself makes MANIFEST
all the sons of God to the world, and that's when the new heaven,
new earth, the CO-CREATION will be done away with, the new heaven,
new earth, when God says, These are all My children, and all
the sons of God are made manifest for everybody to see who He was.
And what a day that's going to be! Here's My children, here's
My sons! Now we can fold this tent up
and be done with this old world and all that's in it. Oh, my. And then waiting for
us to be manifested. Everybody's got to know who we
are. You know, in this world, as far as the world's concerned,
we don't amount to nothing. We really don't. We don't amount
to nothin'. These churches are runnin' over
with people, packed out with people, everything, you know,
and here we are, a handful of the Lord's people, separated
by the grace of God unto Christ himself, and yet God one of these
days is gonna let everybody in this world, in this whole creation,
These are my children and mine alone. I bought them, I paid
for them, I called them, I regenerated them, I've done everything that
needed to be done, I did it. And everybody was, I couldn't,
you mean to tell me he is one for whom Christ, yes. And everybody's
gonna know it. And you know what he'll do? Bring
in that new heaven, new earth. And when we get there, nothing
but righteousness gonna live there. And then look at the next
one. And verse 20, For the creation
was made subject to vanity. Now, you think about vanity,
when you think about vanity it really means nothing, it s got
no substance to it or anything, and you know that s why the preacher
said, Vanity of vanities, all is vanity. And the creation was
made subject to vanity. It wasn t WILLINGLY made subject
to it. But oh, by REASON of Him, God
Himself SUBJECTED the same in HOPE. Now, He brought the world
into existence and made it SUBJECT to Himself. The earth was not
WILLING, it had no SAY in the matter, and yet the SUBJECT,
here it is, He said He made the whole earth and the vanity SUBJECT
to Him. It's His SUBJECT, He can rule
over whatever He wants to. and He SUBJECTED it, this Earth,
the same in HOPE. What hope? The hope that this
Earth here will not continue as it is, not continue as it
is. And oh, my! But look what it
says in verse 21 now, Because the creation itself, now listen
to this, shall be delivered. This creation is going to be
delivered from its bondage. Why is it in bondage for? Because
of the Fall, because of sin, because of corruption. There's
nothing wrong with the Earth itself, it's PEOPLE ON THE EARTH! People ON the Earth, that's the
problem! You take people out of the equation, it's a pretty
good place! Let us get out of the equation.
You know, I used to go ginseng digging all the time. Used to
go in some of the wildest places and deepest places. And I would
get in some of the wildest, deepest hollers and stuff you ever seen.
And you know, at almost everywhere I went, I'd find either a pop
can or a beer can. I don't care how far off you
got, something would bring that thing down there. And you know
why you found them? Because man's a sorry thing. He's just sorry, but that's what
He says, The creation itself shall be delivered, SAVED from
the bondage of corruption. And when's it going to be saved
from the bondage of corruption that it's under right now? When
God makes manifest the liberty, the freedom of His dear sons
for His children. Again, He's bringing us, you
know, ain't nothing going to happen to this creation until
God gets done with us. And when He gets done with us,
not only will the creation be out of bondage itself, but because
they won't be out of bondage until everybody knows that we're
not in bondage anymore. We're children of liberty, liberty
of the children of God. And oh, my! There's going to
be a new creation, oh, this Earth is waiting for the resurrection
of God's people! Oh, my! And this Earth is SUBJECT
to decay DECEASE, DEATH because of Adam's sin, but it ain't going
to continue like this, no, no, no, no. And you know when this
goes from its corruption, we're saved from our corruption. This
corruption shall put on incorruption. When this earth is loose from
its corruption, that's when we'll be free from our corruption.
This incorruption shall put on incorruption. So when this earth is done and
it's safe from corruption, we're going to be safe from corruption. We're so tied to this earth and
God says that he ain't going to do nothing with it until he's
ready for us to be made manifest, for assuring us our liberty,
our freedom, our freedom. And oh, he says in verse 22,
for we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain
together until now. And what makes the creation to
groan and wait and travail in pain? Sin, the curse that's on
this earth. And you know, it groaned here recently. You
know, when the earth groans and travails, that means that there's
so many things, you know, the things, the last two hurricanes
come through here, the earth was travailing, pain, travailing,
groaning, and oh my, earthquakes and pestilences and famines and
droughts and all those things, that's the creation groaning,
and why does all those things happen? S-I-N, because of Adam's
fall put this earth under a curse, and it will always be that way
until it's done. That's what our Lord said, you're
gonna hear before this thing's over, wars and rumors of war,
nation against nation, pestilence, famine, everywhere, all things
going all over. He said this, and He said, the
end's not yet, not yet. And I tell you, let the creation
groan, But oh my, and I tell you, and it s because the creation
prevails under the weight of sin, and oh my, and we also are
burdened with our own nature, our own nature. Oh, wretched
man that I am, who shall deliver me from this body of death? And
our own nature, and it longs for the joy of redemption. But
look what it said in verse 23 now. And not only does the creation
groan and trebaleth in pain, but now look in verse 23, not
only do THEY do it, but we OURSELVES, we OURSELVES, which have the
firstfruits of the Spirit. Now, when you get the firstfruits,
that means you get the first things that you get from the
fruits, and you're waiting for the rest of the harvest. And
God sends us the firstfruits of the Spirit. Grace! Mercy! Forgiveness! Justification! Those are just the first fruits!
Imagine what eternity's going to be like! Imagine when this
BODY is made new! And oh, my, we have the first
fruits of the Spirit! And I tell you, That means that
we, the Holy Spirit has worked in us. And then look what he
says. We ourselves, we're just exactly
like the creation. We ourselves grown within ourselves. What are we groaning about? What
are we groaning about? This old flesh. I've grown over my spiritual
state lots of times. I groan over my spirit. I don't
know if you all do that. I hope you don't. I hope you
don't groan over being sometimes hard-hearted. I hope you don't
groan over being impatient. I hope you don't groan under
the idea that you fly off the handle and get angry every once
in a while. I hope you don't groan under those things. I hope
you don't groan over being cold and indifferent. I hope you don't
groan over the fact that the Word of God sometimes has no
effect upon you. I hope you don't groan over those
things, but we groan. Why? Oh, wretched man that I
am, who shall deliver me from this body of death? Oh, my! But he goes on to say, We groan
within ourselves. What for? We're waiting! What
are we waiting for? The adoption, and what does that
say? The redemption of our body. You
know Christ paid for all of us. He paid for that body that's
going into the dirt. He paid for that body that's
going into that box. He paid for it, and we're waiting
until the day that Christ, He's paid for this body, and that's
why He's going to make it a brand-new body. With the new heavens and
the new Earth, He's going to make us a new body. This mortal's
going to put on immortality. Oh, my! And I'll tell you what,
we've just got a taste of eternal life down here, and what eternity
will be. but oh my, just imagine what
it's going to be when we go to be with Christ. Now, he said
over in I Corinthians, now we KNOW in part, we KNOW in part,
we just know in part, but then we'll KNOW as we're
KNOWN, and then when that happens, FAITH, HOPE, and CHARITY, all
these, but when that face-to-face comes, Then we won't need hope,
we won't need faith. But one thing we'll always have
is charity, the love of God. Always have that. And then look
down in verse 24. And you know, all these things
just go together. We're waiting, we're groaning
within ourselves. And that's what he says, waiting
for the redemption of our body. For we're saved by hope. We're
looking towards that day. Hope has to do with the future.
But hope, when you see what is hope for, it's not hope anymore.
We're actually, we're justified and sanctified, secure in our
blessed Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ. Yet, yet, yet we're saved
by hope. And we are actually, but yet
we're not saved, not saved by hope. Plum, yet. That's how we used to say plum
saved, yet. And that's what he's talking
about. We're saved by hope. What does that mean? That means
we've not got there yet. We've not arrived yet. What a
man seeth, why does he hope for it? Oh my. You know, we're so satisfied
with our Lord Jesus Christ that we long for and look for and
hope for To what? He said, the redemption of the
body, and we have a hope. David said like this, I'll be
satisfied. When will you be satisfied, David?
When I awake in His likeness. And that's when we'll be satisfied,
when we awake in His likeness. And one of these days we will.
You know, when you wake up, That means startin' a new day, startin'
somethin' altogether, and one of these days you're gonna wake
us up! Oh, when I wake, wake up in glory! I'll be satisfied when I see
it made like you. Oh, bless his holy name. Oh,
what a blessed, blessed hope we have. Oh, it's not a wish,
it's not a desire. No, no, our hope's blessed based
on God's promise, based on God's word. We have the full expectation
of getting what Christ bought for us. And oh my, if you've
got what you've been looking for or experience, it's not hope
anymore. And when we become full possession
and go about all that Christ has for us in eternity, our reality
gives way to faith. Our reality, hope gives way to
sight. Faith gives way to sight. Now
look in verse 25, excuse me. Excuse me, yeah. But when we
for hope, but if we hope for what we ain't seen yet, things
we ain't seen, things we don't see now. And now we have the
hope right now of our forgiveness and salvation, full redemption
in Christ. And His blessed, blessed promises,
we ain't seen them all fulfilled yet. We don't have the fulfillment
of all His promises. But oh, look what He says, then
do we with patience wait for Him. We wait for Him. We wait
for them. You know, there was a promise,
Todd preached a message, he's going through Titus right now,
and the first message he preached out of it was, in hope of eternal
life, which God, which began, hope of eternal life, which God
promised before the world ever began. And he started out before
the world began. What happened before the world
began? There had to be something going on before the world began.
But God made a promise before the world began. Eternal life,
and where's that eternal life at? In Christ. Who cannot lie, who cannot lie. Now that's a promise, and I'll
tell you another promise He hasn't kept to me yet. And He hasn't
kept to you, but He will. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again. I will come again and receive
you unto myself that where I am, there you may be also. Yeah,
I'm waiting for that promise. I ain't seen it yet, but I'm
hoping, I got a hope. And then look in verse 26, I
got to hurry. Hope I'm not taking too long.
And likewise the Spirit, here we are talking about hope, groaning,
body being redeemed, going to be with Christ, for our blessed
hope that we have in Christ, looking for Him, and we wait
patiently for the things that we haven't seen yet. Likewise
the Spirit helps our infirmities, for we know not what we should
pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself makes intercession
for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. When we see that
word, likewise, it seems to say not only does we have a hope
of our future glory because of the promises of His precious
Word, and it leads us to patiently wait for our salvation and eternal
salvation in the resurrection. But He talks about while we're
waiting and while we're going through this and wait with patience
for it, we need help. WE ARE WEAK! WE ARE FRAIL! WE HAVE INFIRMITIES! AND THIS
FLESH IS SO WEAK! WELL, WHO IS GOING TO HELP US
WITH OUR INFIRMITY? THE HOLY SPIRIT! THAT'S WHAT HE SAYS HERE. LIKEWISE, THE SPIRIT HELPS OUR
INFIRMITIES! HELPS OUR INFIRMITIES! OH MY! HE BEARS US UP IN OUR WEAKNESSES! IN OUR WEAKNESSES, IN OUR INFIRMITIES!
OH MY! AND THEN HE GOES ON TO SAY, OH
MY GOODNESS! I need some, he got to keep me.
I got too many weaknesses, too many infirmities. Oh my. And then he says this, but we
don't know what we should pray for as we ought. Oh my. We don't know what prayer to
offer. We don't. We don't know what
prayer to offer. We don't know what things to
ask for. How many times do you not know what to ask for? And
we don't know what the will of God is, but the Holy Spirit,
look what He says, the Spirit Himself makes intercession for
us. It takes up our words, it takes
up our groans, it takes up our tears, it takes up our words
that we can't put into words, it takes up the things in our
groanings, in our sighs, it takes them all, and things that we
can't even utter, He takes them and takes them to God and makes
them acceptable through Christ. The Spirit has to do that for
us. This flesh is too weak, got too many infirmities, too many
infirmities. Oh, that's what our Lord, He
enables us to pray according to the will of God. And oh my,
I'll tell you, I'm so thankful that verse, He helps with our
infirmities. God, infirmities, weaknesses,
weakness, weakness, weakness. And then verse 27, and I'm done.
And he which cannot be uttered, and likewise the Spirit helps
our infirmities, and we don't know what to do, we don't know
how to pray, don't know what to ask for, don't know how to
pray, don't know what the will of God is. And he that searches
the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because he
makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Now who's the only one that can search a heart? Only God can search the heart.
Only God can search the heart. And He searches the heart. God
looks on the heart. Man looks on the outward appearance.
God looks on the heart. No man knows the heart of another
man. Not one of us in this building
knows the heart of one another. We don't know it. And I tell
you what, we don't even fully know our own heart. We don't
even fully know our own heart. I know this, that I ain't gonna
trust it. Only a fool trusts in his own heart. And I ain't
gonna trust mine. You know, let me show you something.
Look in Luke chapter 15, 16, excuse me. Luke 16. Now you keep, Romans 8 there, but look in Luke
16 with me. Look down in verse 15. No man
knows his own heart, and they don't fully know his own heart,
and we certainly don't know the heart of another. Oh my. But look what our master said
here in verse 15 of Luke 16. He said, unto them, ye are they
which justify yourselves before men. But God knows your hearts. God knows your hearts. for whatever
man brags on and esteems, and thinks it's the greatest thing
since the electric light's abomination in God's sight. He searches the
hearts. He knows the hearts. And I tell
you what, the Lord knows our motives. He searches the hearts,
our thoughts, our intentions. But He also, and look what He
says, He knows what the mind of the Spirit is. He knows what
the mind of the Holy Ghost is. He knows the mind He knows the
PURPOSES, He knows the PROVIDENCE of the Spirit of God. He knows
what the Spirit of God WILLS for everybody. He knows the MIND
of the Spirit of God. And look what He says, and He
makes intercession for who? The saints, for God s people,
God s elect. He makes intercession for the
saints, and look at what He says, According to the will of God. Whatever God's will is, that's
what the Spirit does. He intercedes for us. That's
what God does for us. He intercedes for us. What? According
to the will of God. Huh? It's impossible to pray
for a believer not to pray for the will of God, because the
Holy Ghost is going to make sure he does. He's going to make sure he does.
He said, He makes intercession for the saints of God. What?
According to the will of God. After he established his strength
according to his will. And anybody here wouldn't want
to be in the will of God? You know how you stay in the
will of God? God just searches the hearts, makes intercession
for you, knows the minds of spirit, and prays for you to keep you
in the will of God, right according to the will of God. Now that's
something you can't mess up. If it could be messed up, we
would certainly do it, wouldn't we? We'd certainly do it. Oh
my. Our Father, oh blessed Savior,
our great and glorious God, in the name of our Lord Jesus, thank
you for meeting with us this evening. Thank you for your precious
word. Oh, nothing like it on this earth. It does something for our heart
and our souls and our understanding that nothing in this world could
possibly ever do. I don't care how great the monuments
in this world are, how beautiful this creation is compared to
what we have in Christ. It compares to nothing. And Lord,
I pray that you'd bless these dear saints of God as they go
their way. Give your people traveling mercies.
Send them safely home. We thank you for each and every
one. And Lord Jesus, oh, bring glory to yourself through all
of us. Work in us to do your will. Work in us to do your will. Thank you again, and blessed
be your holy name. Amen, amen. He's the Savior of
my soul. Jesus, my Jesus. He's the Savior of my soul. He's the Savior of my soul. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. He's the Savior of my soul. He's the Savior of my soul. See you Sunday, Lord willing. Good night, God bless you. Good
to see you, Rick, Denise. Lord bless you on your travels
home.
