number 216. 216. If you from sin are longing to
be free, look to the Lamb of God. He to redeem you died on
Calvary. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. For He alone is able to save
you, look to the Lamb of God. When Satan's imps and dowsing
fears assail, look to the Lamb of God. You in His strength shall
over all prevail. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. For He alone is able to save
you. Look to the Lamb of God. Are you weary? Does the way seem long? Look
to the Lamb of God. His love will cheer and fill
your heart with song. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God, look
to the Lamb of God For He alone is able to save you, look to
the Lamb of God Fear not when shadows on your pathway fall. Look to the Lamb of God. Enjoy your sorrow. Christ is
all in all. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. Look to the Lamb of God. Be seated. We'll sing hymn number
298. 298. In shady green pastures so rich
and so sweet, God leaves his dear children alone. Where the water's cool flow bathes
the weary one's feet, God leaves his dear children alone. Some through the waters, some
through the flood Some through the fire, but all through the
blood Some through great sorrow, but God gives us all In the night
season and all the day long Sometimes on the mount where the sun shines
so bright, God leaves his dear children alone. Sometimes in the valley in darkest
of night, God leaves his dear children alone. Some through the waters, some
through the flood Some through the fire, but all through the
blood Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song In the night
season and all the day long Though sorrows befall us and Satan oppose,
God leaves his dear children alone. Through grace we can conquer,
defeat all our foes, God leaves his dear children alone. Some through the water, some
through the flood Some through the fire, but all through the
blood Some through great sorrow, but God gives us all In the night
season and all the day long Away from the mire and away from the
clay, God leaves his dear children alone. Away, up in glory, eternity stay,
God leaves his dear children alone. Some through the water,
some through the flood Some through the fire, but all through the
blood Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song In the night
season and all the day long Turn with me to Genesis. The
fellow's supposed to read scriptures, not here. Turn to Genesis, and
I'll read a few scriptures, and then he can sing another song. Genesis chapter 1. In the beginning God created
the heaven and the earth, and the earth was without form and
void. Darkness was upon the face of
the deep, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light, and there was light. God saw
the light that it was good, and God divided the light from the
darkness. And God called the light day, and the darkness he
called night, and the evening and the morning were the first
day. And God said, Let there be a
firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the
waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and
divided the waters which were under the firmament from the
waters which were above the firmament, and it was so. And God called
the firmament heaven, And the evening and the morning were
the second day. And God said, Let the waters
under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and
let the dry land appear. And it was so. And God called
the dry land earth, and the gathering together of the waters called
he seas. And God saw that it was good.
And God said, let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding
seed after the fruit tree, yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed
it is in itself upon the earth. All right. Our blessed Lord, our great glorious
God, in the name, the person, the righteousness, the worth,
the merit of your blessed son, we come Oh, we come. Lord, always, always come in absolute
utter necessity, depending on you for everything. Lord, this
flesh profits nothing. This flesh contributes nothing
but heartache and grief and sorrow to ourselves. But Lord, I thank
you, Lord, for the Holy Spirit of God. I thank you for your
word that quickens us and teaches us and instructs us that we're
not left to our own devices. We're not left to our own understanding.
We're not left to our reasoning. Oh Lord, you shut us up under
faith. You shut us up under believing.
And Lord, I'm thankful for that. And Lord, we've gathered here
tonight to worship to study your word, to look into your word,
to set forth our blessed Savior and the salvation that he accomplished
for us. And Lord, we pray that you would
be pleased to save you people in this place, to encourage them,
to strengthen them, and meet the needs of their hearts, their
homes, and their families. We ask these things in our Lord
Jesus' name. Amen. In our course books on page 31,
page 31. Couldn't help but think of this
song after the message this morning. Jacob have I loved, and Esau
have I hated. To those he hasn't shown mercy to, they say God's
not fair for only showing mercy to some. But if he's shown you
his mercy, you know how merciful he is to not have left you in
your place. Oh, how merciful. When I was lost in sin and shame
How Thou let me take the blame Blessed Lord, how merciful Thou
was to me ? When I could look down deep within
? And see the sinfulness of sin ? Blessed Lord, how merciful
thou was to me ? Oh, how merciful, how merciful How merciful, how merciful, blessed
Lord, how merciful thou art to me. How merciful, blessed Lord How
merciful Thou art to me A sinner lost and so hell-bent
Yet Thou saidst, I must repent Blessed Lord, how merciful Thou
wast to me I wonder why should I rebel ? And with a soul deserving
help ? ? Blessed Lord, how merciful thou was to me ? ? Oh, how merciful,
how merciful thou art to me ? Blessed Lord, how merciful Thou
art to me. Oh, how merciful, how merciful. Blessed Lord, how merciful Thou
art to me. I'm not ashamed of all thy grace
When thou came and took my place Blessed Lord, how merciful thou
art to me And when this world ceases to be Eternal blood to
speak for me. Blessed Lord, how merciful thou
art to me. Oh, how merciful. How merciful. Blessed Lord, ? How merciful thou art to me ?
Oh, how merciful ? How merciful ? Blessed Lord, how merciful
thou art to me Are you still in Genesis 1? If
you are, I want to deal with a few verses here, and I want
to talk about the new creation, the new creation. You know, our Lord told the religious
leader, Nicodemus, you must be born again. And here in Genesis,
the first five verses, we have a picture of a soul passing from
death to life. It says in the beginning, God,
God. Everything starts with God. It's
God who chose us. It's God who called us. God who
saved us. God gave us grace in Christ before
the world ever began. God who He says, you know, we
thank God for you because He has from the beginning. The gospel
starts with God. The Bible starts with God. And
in the beginning, regeneration, just like the work of creation,
has its beginning in God Himself, in God Himself. He told Nicodemus,
except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he can't see
the kingdom of God, can't enter the kingdom of God. And the new
creation, the one that God regenerates, that new creation, that person
that God brings into existence, like all the OLD creation, it
begins with the Word of God. God spake, God said, God said,
God said. And the new creation, like the
old, begins with the Word of God. And I believe if we look
at the order of creation, And we see the EXPERIENCE of a soul,
when we look at these things, we'll see the EXPERIENCE of a
soul passing from death to life, we'll see what new creation is
like. And I tell you, the first thing we see is, in the beginning,
God created. That's what God has to do, He
has to create. He has to create a new creature.
God creates a new creature in Christ, and He uses the Word
of God to do it with. And then look at the state of
disorder here. And this we see man's condition
by nature. Look what he said in verse two.
And the earth was without form and without void. Now what that
means is that there was no order. There was no order. There was
nothing here in harmony. Nothing here that was together. And there was nothing perfect
here yet. And that's the way it is with
the human race. Most of us, because of our nature,
and because of what we are by nature, we finally, we don't
hardly have any harmony. There's not very much harmony
in this world. And sometimes, even among believers,
there's not harmony. There's not the peace. There's
not the harmony. There's disorder. There's nothing perfect. And
I tell you what, the only perfect thing in this universe is our
Lord Jesus Christ. And that's why Paul said, I know
that in me that is in my flesh dwelleth no good thing. The will
is present with me, but how to perform, I know not how. And
as I said this morning, the natural man, the natural man, does not
receive, cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God, neither
can he know Him. So there was no order, there's
no order in, you know, when you deal with people, there's no
order, there's no harmony, no harmony. And I tell you, that's
human nature, just won't allow harmony, won't allow harmony. And I mean, we have children
and we have friends, we have people that there's never no
harmony, just no harmony. No, nothing perfect about that
situation. And then look what He said, not
only was it without form and void, but look what He said,
it was empty, it was void, absolutely void. You know what void means? It just means an emptiness, it
means an emptiness, and absolutely unable to help itself and to
produce any good. That s the way human nature is.
That s what we re talking about here, about a new creation. And
I tell you, this void here was absolutely unable to produce
any good of itself. And apart from the work of the
Holy Spirit, the man is utterly VOID of spiritual life, spiritual
understanding, spiritual hope. He has NOTHING going for him
whatsoever, and that s why Job asked the question. He asked
the question, he said, Can a man bring a clean thing out of something
that s unclean? And that's what he's saying,
without form, without void. And man is, he just has no harmony
in his nature. And then look what else about
it. In darkness, darkness was upon the face of the deep. Here we are, we're without form. Empty, no harmony. Empty, void,
just a big void. darkness upon the face of the
deep, darkness upon that man s deep soul. The man, you know,
there can t be, and there s nothing but darkness until light is commanded,
and that s until light s commanded. I want you to keep this, and
I want you to look with me in John chapter 3 and verse 19.
You know, and Paul used the creation to show us what a new creation
s like, He said, as God calls to shine the light out of darkness,
He has shined in our hearts. And that's the same thing He's
doing here. But look with me in John 3, 19. Go over here in
John 3, 19. If I can get there myself. Look what our Lord says over
here about this. Look in verse 18. He that believeth on him, believes
on Christ, is not condemned, he's not judged. But he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed
in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is the condemnation,
this is the judgment men are under. That light is come into
the world, and listen to this, men love darkness, darkness rather
than the light. Oh, they loved it, they loved
their darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.
And everyone that doeth evil, he hates that light. Don't shine
the light on me. Don't expose my heart. Don't
expose my mind. Don't dispose my understanding.
Don't dispose my fault, my fallen nature. Don't do it. And lest
his deeds should be reproved. And you know, John was not that
light. John says this, John was not
that light, but he came to bear witness of that light. Darkness
was upon the face of the deep. And the only way there s going
to be, that s all that a man will ever have is be in darkness
if God doesn t sue unless God commands the light. And then
look here, so we re We are without form, we are void,
darkness upon the face, and look what happens now, and the work
of the Spirit of God, and the Spirit of God moved upon the
face of the waters. You know the Spirit of God has
got to move, and that word move there means to brood over, come
and brood over, the Spirit of God comes and broods over. And
that s the way the work of God does. He comes and BROODS over
us, and our Earth could not make itself have a form. The Earth
could not do its way with its own void. The Earth could not
do away with its darkness. And oh, it couldn t give itself
life, and it couldn t even give itself light. Neither can the
natural man do any of those things. And I tell you something, it
s not an evolutionary process. You know, there s people, and
this is amazing to me, there s people that say they can believe
creation and evolution at the same time. Now, how can you do
that? How can you do that? No, and
it s not an evolutionary process, it s a creation. If any man be
in Christ, he is a new creation. And oh, my, you know, born from
above. Look in John chapter 1. You know,
It's a creation. This is what's so wonderful about
the new birth. It's what's so wonderful. When
God saves a man, when God saves a man, He brings into existence
a man who was never there before, never, never there before. And
I tell you, it's something that God Himself has to do. It's a
creation. And you know, our Lord Jesus
Christ, He said this, He said, It's the Spirit that quickens.
THE FLESH PROPHETS NOTHING. IT'S THE SPIRIT THAT QUICKENS,
THE SPIRIT THAT GIVES LIFE, AND THAT'S THE WAY IT IS. THE EARTH'S
MAN WILL SET IN DARKNESS, AND WITHOUT FORM AND VOID, NO HARMONY
IN HIS HEART OR SOUL, NO PEACE UNTIL THE SPIRIT OF GOD COMES
AND BROODS OVER HIM AND DOES SOMETHING FOR HIM. AND LOOK WHAT
HE SAID HERE IN JOHN 1, 12, But as many as received him,
To them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them
that believe on His name. Now listen to this, which were
born, not of blood, nor the will of man, nor of the flesh, nor
the will of man, but of God. Gotta be born of God and the
Spirit of God's the only thing that can do that. Oh, the words
that I speak unto you, our Lord said, their spirit and their
life, And yet flesh absolutely profits nothing. And oh my, so
I'll tell you what, the Spirit of God comes and He's got to
do something for us. And I'm so thankful that He does. Do you know what a shape we'd
be in without the Spirit of God? Do you have any idea how, you
know most people get up and they never know what the Spirit of
God is. They never know what it is to have the Spirit of God
in the service. And you know one way you can tell if the Spirit
of God is in the service is by what the preacher is preaching.
If he's not preaching Christ, he's not preaching man as he
is, and God as he is, and salvation as it is, he's not preaching
in the Spirit. And this is what we're talking
about, a new creation. The old creation is just like
the new creation, don't have no harmony, void, empty, darkness,
Then the Spirit of God's got to come and do something for
us or it'll never happen. And then look what else happens
over here. And look at the power of God's word in verse three. And God said, God said, that's
enough. That's enough. That s enough. I heard a fellow say one time,
You know, God, the new birth is only mentioned one time. Christ
only mentioned new birth one time. I said, How many times
do you have to mention it for you to get it? You know, and
God said, that s the key to it right here. God said, God said,
and God said, and look what it says. God said, Let there be
light, and there was light. God said, and there was. When
God says something, it IS! It IS! You know, I want you to
look in I Peter chapter 1, but let me while you re going over
there. Psalm 33, 8 and 9 says this, He spake, and it was done,
he commanded, and it stood fast. And we understand by faith Hebrews
4 says, We understand by faith that the world was framed by
the Word of God. How'd this world come into existence?
You know, your man frames up a house and he has to build a
house. Somebody has to do it. Everything
has to start with a builder. and it has to start with a PLAN,
it has to start with a PURPOSE. And the Scripture says, We by
faith understand that the WORLD was FRAMED by what? By the Word of God. And He said
when you look at the things that you can see, you have to understand
that what you?re looking at was not MADE by things you?re looking
at. Though when you?re looking at
something, you?re looking at creation, you understand that
the creation didn?t create itself. And that's what He's talking
about over there. And I'll tell you, you know, bless His name,
but look over here in 1 Peter, yeah, 1 Peter 2, 1, excuse me,
1 Peter 1, verse 22. This is what we're talking about,
the power of God's Word. And the Word is the gospel of
Christ. I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for therein
is the power of God. There God reveals his righteousness.
Look what he said here in verse 22. Seeing you have purified your
souls in obeying the truth. And this is how it happens, through
the Spirit. just like we just talked about,
unto unfeigned love of the brethren, not a hypocritical put on love
for your brethren. See that you love one another
with a pure heart and do it fervently. Do it with fire, fire. And listen, and here's what we're
going to say. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but
of incorruptible by the word of God, which liveth and abideth
forever." He said, now this is what man is, he's grass. That's his glory, that's his
glory, grass. Grass withers, the flower of
the earth fade away. But now listen to this, the word
of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word which by
the gospel is preached unto you. So I mean, you know, God said,
and until God says something, that's, you know, that's what's
so wonderful about preaching the gospel and preaching God's
word. It's not left up to me and it's
not left up to you. whether a man's converted or
not. I'd love to see people converted. I'd love to see people come to
Christ, but I can't bring them to Christ, and I can't make people
come to Christ. And no matter how well I preach
or how simple I preach or how powerful I preach, that does
not save people. The only thing that God uses
to convert His people is the gospel, the Word of God, by an
incorruptible seed. And why do we have to have an
incorruptible seed? Because we're born of a corruptible
seed. So we have to have an incorruptible
seed. Where do you get that at? From the Word of God, from the
Gospel. That's the first thing our Lord said about the parable
of the sower. He said the Word of a man goes
and he sows the seed of the Word. That's what He said. He sows
the seed of the Word. And it falls on four different
kinds of ground. Falls on ground that's so real,
you know, got a lot of rocks in it. And it falls down in those
rocks, and it'll take a little bit of root, and it'll come up,
and then something happens, oh, you know, they get upset about
something the preacher said, or something that didn't happen,
they didn't like. So they have a little persecution, they gone.
Something then falls by the wayside, and the birds come and pick it
up. And then some fall among thorns,
and the thorns chuck it out. But there he said, but I tell
you what, when it falls on good ground, how's that ground get
good? Ductew said about without form,
without boy, God makes it good. Huh? And He takes that incorruptible
seed, and when that seed falls in that thing, the scripture
said they bring forth 30, 60, and 100. And I don't care what,
how much it is, but it's God that brings forth the fruit.
It comes from that seed that's sown in a man's heart. Then it
has to be incorruptible. That shows you that man's got
two natures right there. If you got a corruptible seed,
if you got a corruptible seed, born of a corruptible seed, then
If you have to be begotten again by an incorruptible seed, that
shows you that there's two natures right there. Huh? The only nature you got's
that corruptible seed. Well, how you gonna get that
nature changed? Incorruptible seed. How's that come? By the
word of the gospel, which we preach unto you. And when that
word takes root, when that word takes root, oh my, I tell you,
and his word comes with power. You know how powerful his word
is? Just like he did this morning with Bartimaeus, he commanded
him to be called. He stood outside of Lazarus'
tomb and oh my, that man was a mess, oh he was awful. And
he said, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth,
came forth. And oh, that's what it is. That
centurion said, Lord, you don't have to come to my roof. Just
send your word. That's how God saves his people.
And if anybody, if anybody's ever saved that comes into this
building or comes under the sound of the gospel, you know what
it'll be? It'll be because the word of
God found root in a man's soul. And until that happens, a person
will sit in the service, they may enjoy it, they may like it,
they may make good comments about it, but until that seed is sown,
until that new birth takes place, until that Word of God comes
with power to a man's heart, he gonna sit there and just,
he ain't gonna get it, he ain't gonna get it, he's just not gonna
get it. And then let me show you something else now. Look
what a blessed separation that God makes. And God said, let
there be light, and there was. And I tell you something that
God does for us in this new birth, in this new creation. And God
saw the light that it was good. And He divided the light from
the darkness. That's the first thing He does
for us. Here you are over here in darkness. What does He do?
He brings you into the light. I can prove that from the Bible.
You believe I can prove that from the scriptures? I will show you two things look
in Colossians chapter 1, you know That's what God does you
here? You are you're in darkness and
God turns on the light and he brings you out of that darkness
into his light in Colossians Well, look in Ephesians 5 first
Ephesians 5 18 Y'all ain't know. I hope you're not no hurry tonight
Ephesians 5 18 look what he says here. I Let's see, 5.8, excuse me, 5.8,
not 5.18, 5.8, Ephesians 5.8, for you were sometimes darkness,
but now are you light in the Lord, and walk as children of
light. You know, you're the light. Now
look over here in Colossians chapter one, turn over to Colossians
chapter one, and look here in verse 12. GIVING THANKS UNTO THE FATHER,
WHICH HATH MADE US MEET OR FIT TO BE A PARTAKER OF THE INHERITANCE
OF THE SAINTS IN LIGHT, WHO HATH DELIVERED US FROM THE POWER OF
DARKNESS, AND TRANSLATED US INTO THE KINGDOM OF HIS DEAR SON." There's light, there's darkness,
that's what you was, God said, I'm going to separate it. I'm
going to separate the darkness from the light. I'm going to
bring you out of that darkness, I'm going to bring you into the
light. And let me show you one more, John 8, 12. One more, John
8, 12. This is why He brings us into
the light. This is why we have to be brought
into the light. And God separates. You know,
this is an amazing thing that people Don't see these things. Then spake Jesus, John 8, 12.
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the
world. I am the light of the world. He that followeth me, listen
to this now, shall not walk in darkness, but watch it, but shall
have the light of life. Huh? Oh, my! He separates the light
from the darkness, and He breaks and calls them children of light,
and He separates the spiritual from the carnal. That s why He
said, What communion hath Christ with darkness? What communion
hath light with darkness? What communion hath Christ with
Belial? What did they do? And then I
want to show you about some fruitberry, some fruitberry. Look down in
verse 11, And God said, Let the earth bring
forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding
fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself upon the earth.
And it was so. And it was so. Yielding fruit
after its kind. That's what he's talking about.
Yielding fruit after his kind. And the scripture said, Whose
seed is in itself. You know what? Fruit coming is
the outcome of being in the light. The fruit-bearing is the outcome
of having the new birth. The fruit-bearing is being brought
into the light and brought out of darkness. The fruit-bearing
is the result of a CONDITION, not an effect of what we are,
but what we do. Our Lord said this about fruit-bearing.
He says, I am the vine, you are the branches. the branches. He that abideth
in me, he beareth fruit. But he that beareth not fruit,
he said, he shall be purged, and he'll bring forth more fruit.
For without me you can do nothing, do nothing. And our Lord Jesus
Christ, He said, I know you're not, you've not chosen me, but
I've chosen you and ordained you that you should go forth
and bear fruit. And you'll know a tree by its
fruit after its kind. If we belong to Christ, we'll
bear fruit. What kind of fruit we think you're
talking about? I'm not talking about a lot of good works. We
bear the fruit of grace, fruit of love, joy, peace, understanding,
tenderness, kindness, forgiveness, one another as God, for Christ's
sake, forgave us. forbearance, long-suffering,
patience, all these are spiritual things. People go around, you
know, and they call and say, Well, I'm a fruit inspector.
Well, what do you expect? What are you inspecting? You
know, if you've got grace, grace is going to come out. If you've
got peace, peace is going to come out. If you've got joy,
joy is going to come out. If you ain't got it, I've known
folks that's made professions, and I've known folks that that
they have never once manifested any grace in their life. Not
once. Not once not manifested any grace
in their life at all. And I mean they're ten grace
churches, but they never have manifested one ounce of grace.
Not the first evidence of grace. Not the first evidence of forbearance
and kindness and tenderness and forgiving. Not the first evidence
of it. And that's what I'm talking about.
He said, after it's kind. If we belong to Christ, Christ
in us is coming out. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about.
If we're Christ, we're gonna bear fruit. We're gonna bear
fruit. And oh my, look at the position of the light down here
in verse 15. Look where the position of the
light is. And let them be for lights in
the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth. And you
know where we get our light from? We get it from above. If we get any light, he's got
to give it, and it comes from him. It comes from him to give
light upon the earth. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, you're
the light of the world, the light of the world. And let me close
with this. Let me give you one other thing.
Verse 26 and 27, let me give you one other thing here. And God said, and this is God
speaking again, Let us make man in our image after our likeness,
and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over
the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the
earth, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God, created
he, him, male and female, created him, them. God created man in
his own image, in his own image. Now, Adam delighted in God. God would come down and walk
with him in the cool of the evening. God made him and said, now I
put you over this garden and you tend it and you take care
of it. He called all the animals and called everything and said,
Adam, you name them, whatever you name them, that's what they'll
be. And so Adam delighted in God and walked with God and God
walked with him until he failed, until he failed. But in regeneration,
listen to me, in regeneration, that image is restored. God restores
that image of Christ in us, the image of God in us. Let me show
you that in Colossians chapter 3 and verse 10. Colossians chapter
3 and verse 10. You know, the image of God, and He's going
to conform us. One of the things that predestination
is meant to do is to conform us to the image of His Son, conform
us to the image of His Son. And you know Adam failed, and
Adam didn t believe God, and God had to go and get him. But
here s what happens now, look what he said in verse 10, Colossians
3.10, And have put on the new man, the new, which is renewed
in knowledge, after the image of him that created him. Now,
what does that mean? That means that God created in
us, the image of God, and what does it mean to have the image
of God in us? Now we believe God when we didn't.
We delight in God. We agree with God. We walk with
Christ by faith. And our Lord, you know, He said,
how can two walk together except they be agreed? And you know,
you find two people in the Old Testament that walked with God,
Enoch walked with God. How did he walk with God? He
walked by faith. How did he walk with God and
how God look at him? Because he had his image in him.
Now, what is the image of Christ in us? What is the image of God
in us? It's an image that makes a person look at God and agree
with everything He says. And he can only look in the light,
and he can only agree with God, walk with Christ, and how can
they walk together? And Enoch walked with God, and
the Scriptures tells us that Noah walked with God. How'd they
do it? By faith, just like we do. And oh my, and now we walk
by faith, and when we're regenerated, God restores that image in us.
And that image is implanted on our hearts, in our souls, Christ
in you, the hope of glory. And that image answers to Christ
in the Bible, answers to the gospel when we hear it. It answers
to the Spirit of God in us. Adam didn't do that when he fell.
Adam hid, now we don't wanna hide. We don't want to hide. We want to come out in God's
presence. We want to walk with God. We want to converse with
God. We want to agree with God. We want to delight in God. We
enjoy God. We enjoy Him. And that's why
David said, when I awaken His likeness, I'll be satisfied. Not till then. All right. Our Father, in the precious name
of the Lord Jesus Christ, I ask that you'd be merciful
to us as we sung tonight. Oh, how merciful, how merciful,
how merciful. That God, you'd be gracious and
merciful to this, to me and this congregation of believers. Lord, cause us to walk, but faith
cause us to look to Christ for all things. calls us to love
one another, calls us to forgive one another, calls us to be kind
and gracious to one another. And Lord, for everything that
we say and do that's so unlike you, oh God, for Christ's sake,
forgive us. But we know that your word is
quick and is powerful and is sharper than any two-edged sword.
And it pierces the heart. It pierces the soul. And it divides. It divides. And Lord, it divides
the darkness from the light. It divides death from life. It
causes fruit to come forth to the glory of Christ. And Lord,
bring glory to Yourself through us as only You can do. We ask these in Christ's name. Amen. Amen. All right, I'll see
you Wednesday night, God willing. Good night and God bless you.
