In his sermon titled "Faultless Before God," Pastor Larry Criss addresses the foundational Reformed doctrine of justification by faith and the assurance it brings to believers. He develops several key points, stressing that humans stand guilty before a holy God, as illustrated in Revelation 6:15-17, where the unrepentant fearfully seek to hide from divine wrath. Criss contrasts this with the hopeful image of the saved multitude in Revelation 7:9-14, who are made faultless through the blood of the Lamb, underscoring a theology of grace and election based entirely on God’s initiative, as seen in Romans 5:1-2. The significance of his message lies in the assurance it provides to believers that their acceptance before God is not based on personal merit but solely on Christ's atoning work. This assurance fosters a profound security and peace, as believers recognize that their standing is secure in God’s grace.

Revelation chapter 6 verse 15, And the kings of the earth, and
the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the
mighty men, and every bondman, and every freeman, hid themselves
in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to
the mountains, and rocks, fall on us. What a strange prayer
meeting this is. fall on us and hide us from the
face of him that setteth on the throne, and from the wrath of
the Lamb. For the great day of his wrath
is come, and who shall be able to stand?" I wonder these men,
these great men were included, mighty men, I wonder before this
sight of the Lamb, God Almighty, God over all. I wonder, did they
perhaps ever think before this time that standing before such
a God, such a being as God Almighty, was an easy thing? To stand before
God, to be accepted by God. Did they learn too late that
it wasn't as easy as A, B, C? They were forced to ask the question
in the light of who God is and who we are. They asked the question,
who shall be able to stand? They had no place to hide, did
they? No place to hide from God, the
all-knowing God. No place to hide from the judgment
and justice of God. We look at that, and if that
were all, if that was all the picture, we would ask ourselves,
is there no hope for anyone then? Is there no place for any sinner
to stand accepted before such a God as this? Oh, the answer
is yes, indeed. Look down, if you will, in chapter
7. Let's read a few verses there in Revelation chapter 7, verse
1. After these things, I saw four
angels standing on the four corners of the earth. holding the four
winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth,
nor on the sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending
from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried
with a loud voice to the four angels to whom he was given to
hurt the earth and the sea, saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the
sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of God in
their foreheads." Between the close of the events in chapter
6, the sixth seal, and before the seventh seal is opened, the
Lord in grace and mercy says, not yet. Not yet. No judgment must be withheld
first until I seal my servants. Christ sets a mark on them, a
mark of everlasting love, just as certainly as he did on the
houses of the children of Israel that night in Egypt. Remember
that? God told Moses, you go tell them, you go tell the children
of Israel to slay a lamb and sprinkle the doorpost over the
door and on the side with the blood of that sacrificed lamb.
And when I pass through Egypt, as I most certainly will, in
strict absolute justice and judgment, one thing will spare them, only
one thing, when I see, when I see, not when I see their works. Oh,
that would offer a little hope, wouldn't it? Not when I see their
merit. Not when I see their desserts. Oh no, but when I see THE blood,
when I see the blood, I'm going to pass over them. And this is
what the Lord does in Revelation 7. He marks His people. Robert
Hawker said this, Reader, on this passage, he said, remarked
the striking tokens of distinguishing grace. Oh, did you, my brother,
but always keep this in view, of things alive in thy soul,
of the present distinctions which the Lord makes, and he does.
and everlasting distinctions which will one day be made between
the precious and the vile, you would taste a thousand mercies
which are to the lost unobserved." Remember what Paul asked the
Corinthians. They were puffed up, Houston.
Remember the Corinthians, the reason for all their problems,
and that church at Corinth was pride. That was the result. That was the evil root that grows
anywhere. And it was flourishing there.
I would to say that it was rooted out in me, but it's not. Is it
you? Is it you? Oh, pride. But Paul said, what
do you have to be proud of? What do you have the big head
for? He said, you're puffed up. puffed up, like a balloon blowed
up. You're puffed up. He said you
need to be deflated and you can do that by remembering this.
Who made the difference? Who made the difference in you
and the vilest sinner in hell? Who made the difference? Who
made you to differ from another? Who distinguished you is how
it should read. Who distinguished you? What do
you have that you didn't receive? Now if you receive it, why do
you boast? Why do you glory as if you had
not received it? Indeed, who? Indeed, who makes
one sinner that differs from another? Who chooses sinners
to salvation? Now, I realize in our religious
day, most churches would rather you come into the pulpit and
utter a cuss word than to use that word, election. Oh, but
thank God for the election of grace. Thank God that there is
always a remnant according to His glorious election of grace. There is no question salvation
involves a choice. The question is, who does the
choosing? Who does the choosing? Is it
the sinner? Oh, no, no, no. It's God. Who
chooses sinners to salvation? Who bears their sins away? Who
bears their sins away? Who calls a sinner out of darkness? Who's able to do that? Who has
that great power? Who has that great mercy? Who
has such grace as that they can call a sinner out of darkness
and translate them into the kingdom of His own Son? Who gives them
faith? Who will keep them all through
life and in death bring them to eternity and present them
to Himself without fault? Wow! Without fault? Not just without sin, but without
fault, without a blemish, without any such thing. Who makes that
difference other than the God of all grace? 2 Timothy 2, verse
19, Paul wrote, nevertheless, I love that, don't you? Nevertheless,
the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal. The Lord
knows. The Lord knoweth those that are
His. He's always known them. And that
means more than just a knowledge of their existence. He's loved
them whom He did for know, those He did for love. God doesn't
do like you and I wake up, Brad, in the morning and we have a
new idea. We thought of something that we didn't think about last
night and we went to bed. God doesn't have new ideas. God
never has a new thought. Everything God has always purposed,
always determined, God is determined to do before the foundation of
the world. He loved His people with an everlasting
love. If He loves me today, He must
have loved me yesterday. He must have loved me before
the world was ever created. And He'll continue to love me
until I'm in the presence of the King of Glory forever and
ever. Nevertheless, God's foundation
is certain. I want to rest there, don't you?
The hymn writer said, change and decay all around I see. I saw it in the mirror this morning,
Albert, when I was getting ready. Robin, can you come in here and
help me pluck these gray eyebrows? Change and decay all around I
see. Oh, but that which is most important,
That which I need the most, that which I can do without never
changes. Jesus Christ is always the same. Always mighty to save. Always
glorious. Always gracious. Always delighting
to show mercy. Always saying, Come unto me,
all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. And He does so. Does He not?
The same yesterday, today, and forever. Again the Apostle Paul
wrote in Ephesians chapter 1 verse 13, In whom? In whom? People talk about what, don't
they? Let me tell you what I know.
Let me tell you what my church believes. Let me tell you what
we're doing. Don't tell me about what. What
can't save me? What can't give me a new heart?
What can't raise me from the dead? What can't give me the
gift of faith? What can't enable me to come
to the Lord Jesus Christ? Oh no, Paul said, in whom? In whom? Salvation is in a person. It's in the Son of God. having the gift of just like
old dying Simeon to say, oh, I've seen thy salvation. Mary,
Mary, let me take him from you for a moment. Let me embrace
that child in my arms. And he said, I see God's salvation. He wasn't looking at a thing.
He wasn't looking at a what. He was looking at a person, the
Son of God, the only savior, the only mediator between God
and man. In whom? He also trusted, after
that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation,
in whom also, after that ye believed, ye were sealed with the Holy
Spirit of promise, which is the earnest, the down payment, if
you will, of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession,
until the praise of the glory." One here might have expressed
it this way. He said, there was grace that
first inscribed my name in God's eternal book. There was grace
that gave me to the Lamb, who all my sorrows took. Grace taught
my soul to pray. And grace made my eyes overflow. It's grace that's kept me till
this day. And it's grace that just will
not let me go. I like that. Don't tell me about
a grace that can't be resisted. Don't tell me about grace that's
not effectual. Don't tell me about grace that
won't keep me all the days of my life and grace that won't
take me all the way to glory. Don't tell me about grace that
depends on me to make it effectual. That's not good news. Tell me
about the grace of God that's in Jesus Christ that will not
let me go. Absolutely refuses to let me
go. Not because of myself, but in
spite of myself. In spite of myself, that's the
only grace that can help a sinner like me. Are you still in Revelation? Look down at verse 9 of chapter
7. Verse 9 of chapter 7. Oh, what
a different picture we have here than the one we began with in
chapter 6. After this, verse 9, after this
I beheld, John said, and lo, lo, oh this is worth looking
at. This is worth pausing over. Lo,
a great multitude which no man can number. People hear that
you believe that horrible doctrine of election and they'll say to
you, well, you just believe just one or two will be saved. I believe there's a multitude,
just like John saw here, a multitude that it's not a possibility they
won't be anything but saved, saved with an everlasting salvation.
A multitude which no man can number, of all nations and kindreds
and people and tongues, stood before the throne. Stood before
the throne. Oh, that multitude in chapter
6 said, Who shall be able to stand? We see the Lamb of God
upon the throne. He's not like we imagined. We
thought He was just like us. Oh, He's not like we imagined
at all. Who's going to be able to stand in His holy presence? Who shall be able to stand? They
didn't have a mediator, did they? But on the other hand, here we
see a multitude that can't be numbered, and they stand before
the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes and
palms in their hands. What a difference! They stand
in the presence of God Almighty so unlike those in chapter 6. These aren't fearful. They're
not terrified by the sight of God and the Lamb. They stand
rejoicing in His very presence. You know why? You know the only
reason why? They have a Mediator. They have
a Mediator, the Lamb. They're with Him. They're with
Him. That's why God smiles on them.
Oh, imagine that. They bask in the sunlight of
God's approving smile. Always. Always. God accepts them. God approves of them. God says,
enter into the joy prepared for you. Just for you. Come on in. Welcome home. The reason is,
you're with my Son. You're with the Lamb. Everything
God does for sinners. Everything he's ever done for
sinners, everything that God Almighty ever will do for a sinner
is for Christ's sake. For Christ's sake. Paul said,
forgive one another, love one another, even as God for Christ's
sake has forgiven you. Oh, child of God, there's your
comfort. There's your hope. There's your
peace. God does what he does for you
for Christ's sake. What will he not do for Christ's
sake? What will He not do for His Son?
What will He not do for His Son's honor and His Son's glory, for
Christ's sake? Oh, that's the difference there
with the Lamb. And what a difference that is.
Look down here in Revelation 7 at verse 13. One of the elders
answered, saying unto me, John, what are these which are arrayed
in white robes? Verse 13. And whence came they? How did they come to be here? And I said unto him, Sir, thou
knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out, which
came out. Oh, my hurting brother and sister
in Christ, you're going to come out too. You're going through
great tribulation. It's real. Those tears are real. That anguish is real. But by
God's grace, you're going to come out. You'll come out just
like they all came out. They all came plum out. They
all came all the way out to be with the King of Glory forever.
These came out of Great Tribulation and they washed their robes and
made them white. White. Remember we read earlier
in this chapter? They stood before the Lamb of
God and the throne of God clothed with white robes, all from head
to foot. That makes them acceptable. That
makes them accepted. That makes them perfect in the
sight of God Almighty. The Omnipotent God, the Omniscient
God, the All-Knowing God looks at them and sees no fault in
them whatsoever. Why? Because they're with the
Lamb. They're clothed in His righteousness because God made
His Son, who knew no sin, to be sin for them. And what was
the outcome of that? What was that for? What did that
accomplish? That they might be made the very
righteousness of God Almighty in Him. Therefore, because they
have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb, therefore,
John, that's the reason. That's the only reason. Therefore,
a day before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in
his temple, and he that sits upon the throne shall dwell among
them. It's not the blood of martyrs,
but the blood of the Lamb that can wash away sin and make the
soul pure and clean in the sight of God Almighty Himself. Paul,
Hebrews 10, says it's not possible. It's just not possible that the
blood of bulls and goats should take away sin. It's not possible. And it's not possible that your
good works can take away sin. It's not possible that your good
deeds can take away sin. It's not possible that your religion
can take away sin. There's only one thing that can
take away sin. Only one's One thing that reaches
deeper than the stain is gone, and that's the blood of the Lord
Jesus Christ. What can wash away my sins? There's
only one answer. Nothing. Nothing but the blood
of Jesus. Oh my soul, but what a job it
does. Oh, what a job it does! When
that sinner is plunged beneath that crimson stain, he arises
perfect in the sight of God. How about that? That's what God
said. People say, how good do you have
to be to go to heaven? How good? Give me a list of rules. I can measure up to that. Tell me what I have to do. Give
me a list of do's and don'ts. I mean I won't go there, I won't
touch this, I won't wear that. Just give it to me and I'll do
it. I'll tell you how good you gotta be. As good as God. Now
how's your rules look now? How does anything other than
the blood of the Son of God look now? What can wash away my sin? Nothing. Nothing but the blood
of Jesus. Oh, what can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus. We read in verse 15 in chapter
7, or we read rather, Therefore, therefore are they before the
throne of God, no other reason, They've been redeemed, not with
silver and gold, but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. His blood is precious because
it presents us without fault before the throne of God. In
Romans 5 verse 9, much more than being now justified by His blood,
we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Christ's blood was
not shed in vain. No, He obtained, when He shed
His blood, He obtained eternal redemption for His people. He
told His disciples just hours before He went to Calvary, Behold,
we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed into
the hands of men, and they'll mock Him. They'll spit upon Him. They'll crucify Him. All things
that are written about the Son of Man shall be accomplished. And the third day, He's going
to rise again. Because the third day, God was
demonstrating His everlasting satisfaction with the work of
His Son. When He raised Him from the dead,
it was as if God was saying, Amen, my Son. It is finished. You've done everything I sent
you to do. Accomplished, obtained. I like
that, don't you? The prophet said, I will greatly
rejoice in the Lord. My soul shall be joyful in my
God, my God. For he hath clothed me with the
garments of salvation. He hath covered me with the robe
of righteousness. As a bridegroom decketh himself
with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
Jesus, thy blood and righteousness, my beauty are, my glorious dress. Misflaming worlds in these arrayed,
with joy shall I lift up my head. Bold shall I stand in that great
day, for who ought to my charge shall lay. Fully absorbed from
these I am, from sin and fear, and from guilt and shame. Would
you turn to Romans chapter 5. Romans chapter 5. I'd like to
just read two verses. Two verses. Romans 5, verses
1 and 2. Romans 5 and 1. Therefore, it being justified by faith, we
have peace with God, Peace with God. Oh, that's something that
money can't buy, isn't it? Peace with God. How? How can
we have peace with God? Through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom? There it is again. Not what, whom. Also, we have
access by faith into this grace wherein we stand and rejoice
in the hope of the glory of God. Faultless to stand, before God's
throne. One of the many great blessings
resulting from full and free justification, known and felt
in the heart, is a firm understanding in this state of grace in which
we are found and have access to God. God who brings poor sinners
into a state of grace, He keeps them in that state, doesn't He?
Oh, once where He is, we're His forever. Nothing from His love
can sever. Our standing in grace doesn't
depend on our faithfulness to God. Aren't you glad that's so? Aren't you glad that's so? Aren't
you glad that you're standing? The foundation of your acceptance
before God Almighty doesn't depend upon your faithfulness to Him.
but His faithfulness to you. Both the present peace and the
permanent standing of God's elect are secure, as secure as God
Almighty, as faithful as He that calleth you, who also will do
it." Old Charles Spurgeon put it this way. He said, what a
mercy it is that it is not your hold on God that saves you, but
His hold on you. What a sweet fact it is that
it's not your grasp in His hand, but His grasp of yours that saves
you. David found that to be so, didn't
he? And what a comfort it was to his heart. He said, He said,
there's no question in Psalm 73, God's good to Israel. God's
good to His people. God's always good, nothing but
good. But as for me, David said, now that's another story. That's
an entirely different story. He said, I was envious at the
wicked. David, after all God did for
you, after all that God had given you, all that He'd done and has
promised to do, you're envious at the wicked? And David said,
it's true. It's true. And on down in the psalm he said,
I was a fool. So foolish was I and ignorant. I was as a beast
before thee. I was no better than an ignorant
beast before my God. Therefore God said, that's enough,
David. You've gone too far. You've crossed the line. I'm
done with you. I'll wash my hands of you. No, no, that's not what
happened. I was as a beast before thee,
God. Nevertheless, I am continually
with thee. Nevertheless, I'm still yours
and you're still mine. You will not let me go. The great
shepherd will not let go of one of his sheep. It'll never happen. Nevertheless, David said, I'm
continually with thee. Thou hast holden me by my right
hand. Oh, He'll hold my hand. Oh, He'll
hold my hand. When over this river I go, and
safe I will be in beautiful heaven I know. Nevertheless, I am continually
with Thee. Thou hast holden me by my right
hand. Thou shalt guide me with Thy
counsel. and afterward receive me the glory." You see, the true
grace of God, the grace that Paul speaks of here in Romans
5, it's incorruptible. It lives and abides forever.
And the soul that gains access to this state of grace has passed
from death to life and shall not come into condemnation. There's
no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. In Christ. Oh, what a safe refuge. And that's
exactly what our Lord said in John 5, didn't He? John 5, verse
24. Verily, verily, truthfully, truthfully,
verily, count on this, fall down on this, rest on this. I'm telling
you the truth, Christ says. I say unto you, he that heareth
my word, and believeth on him that sent me, has everlasting
life, and shall not come into condemnation. Shall not come
into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life. But what
if? What if like Peter they deny you? They won't come into condemnation. What if with Peter they all forsake
you and flee? They'll not come into condemnation.
What if their heart is cold and ungrateful most of the time?
They shall not come into condemnation. They're my sheep. and they're
in my hand. While the head exists, the members
must exist as well. Because I live, Christ said,
ye shall live also. Psalm 125 verse 2, as the mountains
are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people
from henceforth even forevermore. Verse 1 and 2 here in Romans
5, it's as though a child of God is surrounded by the grace
of God. No matter where he turns, what
direction he turns, he's met with God's grace. Look to your
left in verse 1. Justified and peace with God. Justified takes away the guilt
and that makes way for peace. Can there be anything more full
of comfort for a child of God than this? We have peace with
God right now. Right now. Or when we lie down
tonight, we honestly can say, I don't know what tomorrow holds,
but I know it won't change this. No matter what comes my way,
good or bad, high or low, dark or light, I know I will have
peace with God. There's more in this peace than
just the mere end of enmity. There's an absolute friendship. with the God of all grace, God
who can either be our worst enemy if we know not his son, or our
very best friend, like Abraham, being justified by faith, he
was called a friend of God. Oh, what a happy standing, wherein
we stand. Not only wherein we are, but
wherein we stand. That's a picture that all the
sins that were against us have been discharged. We're discharged
from guilt. We stand in the judgment. We're
not cast out as convicted criminals, but we stand welcome before the
throne of God. Ephesians 2 verse 14, He is our
peace. Who is? Christ. Christ is our
peace. who had made both one, and had
broken down the middle wall of partition between us. You've
probably heard the story, there was a young man laying dying,
and someone called one of these ambulance chasing preachers,
you know, figured he'll be an easy decision, he's ready to
die, came to him and knelt down by the young man's side and said,
son, you'd better make your peace with God. Boy, wasn't that some
good news. Tell a dying sinner, you'd better
make your peace with God. Well, what this fellow didn't
know, this young man was already a believer. And he told that
so-called preacher, sir, my peace was made with God 2,000 years
ago. My peace has already been made
with God, and it was made by Jesus Christ, and I'm trusting
him alone. trusting in Christ alone. He
is our peace. Galatians 1 verse 20, and having
made peace. through the blood of His cross
by Him, to reconcile all things unto Himself, by Him I say, whether
they be things in earth or things in heaven, and you that were
sometimes alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works,
yet now hath He reconciled, reconciled to God in the body of His flesh
through death to present you, listen to this, to present you
holy and unblameable and unreprovable in His sight. My soul, child
of God, we worship and trust a successful Savior, don't we?
I believe He's trustworthy. Don't you? We look from our left,
look to our right in verse 2, and we read, standing in grace
and rejoicing in the hope of glory hereafter. Glory is grace
complete. Grace is glory begun. And glory
is grace completed. The psalmist said, He that is
God will give. He will give. You won't earn
it. You don't deserve it. You don't merit it. But God's
going to give it to you. He will give grace and glory. Look behind you, and every believer
will thankfully sing with David, surely. Look behind you, child
of God, this morning. Oh God, draw back the curtain
of my memory now and then. Remind me, show me where you
brought me from and where I could have been. Oh, I'd be so less
likely to complain when I would think about those things. Look
behind you, and you can say with David, surely, surely. Goodness and mercy has followed
me all the days of my life. 53 years ago, I was 18 years
old and woke up in a hospital bed, my mother standing beside
me. What happened? She said, Larry, you were in
a car wreck. Where's Bruce, the driver? Oh, he's fine. He's just
fine. Where's Roger? Mom, where's Roger?
She wouldn't answer me. Where's Roger? Sixteen years
old, Roger looked up to me. I was a year or two older than
him. He looked up to me. He followed me around. And I
taught him everything I knew, Brad. I taught him how to drink
and how to cuss and how to dishonor every evil thing I knew. Mom,
where's Roger? He's dead. He's dead, Larry. He died in the back seat of that
car wrapped around that telephone pole. He died. And I think, 53 years ago today,
and I think, my Lord, who made me to differ from anybody else? Did I turn to God? No, I cussed
God. I hated God. I said, I don't
want anything to do with that God. But he would not let me
go. He would not let me go. He said,
you're mine, rebel. and you're coming down." And
I look back with David and I say, surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life. All the days of my life,
God's mercy has followed me. And David said, and I will dwell
in the house of the Lord forever. Jesus Christ is the Alpha and
Omega of our salvation. Of Him and through Him and back
to Him are all things to whom be glory forever and ever. And
look ahead of yourself, child of God, look ahead, and you will
see that glory is waiting at the finish line. Wow! That's what Paul said, I'm pressing
forward. I've not got there yet, but I'm pressing forward. I'm reaching forward for the
prize for the high calling of God that's in Christ Jesus. Look
who's at the finish line. Oh, y'all had several, several
recently, not within the last months, years. God has taken
home. So have we. So have we. Every little flock I know experiences
the same thing. What happens? God says, you've
dwelt here long enough. Joe, you've been here long enough.
It's time to come home. It's time to come be with me,
Christ in John 17. Father, I will also. that those
whom you have given me be with me where I am." Jesus Christ
wants His sheep with Him. Now who's going to stop that
from happening? Who's going to hold Him back when Christ says
it's time to come be with me? We look ahead and I will dwell
in the house of the Lord forever. At the point in time Jesus Christ
We'll gather all of his sheep around his throne, and they'll
be with him forever. Now, now the sheep are led through
many a hard way, aren't they? Sometimes through sweet meadows,
but more often than not through dusty, dry highways, up some
rough and rocky mountain tops, sometimes down through deep gorges,
no sunshine. But they're all being led to
the same place. And when the hot day is over,
and they are gathered into the fold, and the sinking sun sees
them safe within, no wolf can ever bother them again. No robber,
no thief, no sin. They're under the watchful loving
eye of the great shepherd of the sheep. Sometimes on the mount,
where the sun shines so bright, and that's such a sweet time,
isn't it? God leads his dear children along.
Oh, but sometimes in the valley, through darkest of night, God
leads his dear children along. Some through the waters, and
some through the flood, and some through the fire, but all through
the blood. Some through great sorrow, but
God gives a song in the night season and all the day long. or away from the mire and away
from the clay. God leads his dear children along.
Away up in glory, eternity's day, God leads his dear children
along. Wherein we stand, that's a picture
of our perseverance, isn't it? We can say with the Apostle Paul,
I'm confident in this very thing, that he which had begun a good
work in you will perform it into the day of the Lord Jesus Christ. Brothers and sisters, I can think
of no better way to bring this to a close than reading the verse
in 1 John chapter 3 verse 2. 1 John 3 and 2. Beloved, now
are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall
be, but we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like
Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Peter wrote that this
is the true grace of God wherein you stand. We need help, do we
not? Powerful, efficient, constant
help. We need the presence of the Son
of God and He says I'll never leave you. You can count on that. I'm with you always, even until
the end of the world. He that keepeth Israel, the psalmist
said, shall neither slumber nor sleep. Last night when you slept,
I wonder how much danger there could have been just lurking
outside your door. But you had no knowledge of it,
did you? You just slept right through it. You knew nothing
about it. Because he that keeps Israel never slumbers. He never
sleeps. He's always keeping watch. A
firm persuasion of that is the best motive for a child of God.
to persevere. We begin this race with grace
and we'll finish it with grace. And grace will sprinkle every
step of the way between those two blessed events. What a comfort
and good hope to know that in Christ Jesus we are faultless
to stand before the throne. And he shall bring forth the
headstone thereof with shoutings crying grace, grace unto it. Grace is a charming sound, harmonious
to the ear. Heaven with the echo shall resound,
and all the earth shall hear. Grace, all the works shall crown
through everlasting days. It lays in heaven the topmost
stone, and well deserves the praise. Now unto him that is
able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless
before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy. To the only
wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power,
both now and forever. Amen. Amen. God bless you. God bless you.
