Let me say a few things about
him. Verses 1 and 2 here in Exodus 25. And the Lord spake unto Moses. God said he spoke with him as
a friend to friend, face to face. And the Lord spake unto Moses,
saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they may bring
me an offering of every man that giveth it willingly with his
heart, ye shall take my offering. and then down in verse 8 and
9 and let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell in according
to all that I show thee after the pattern of the tabernacle
and the pattern of all the instruments thereof even so shall you make
it our blessed master our blessed
blessed Savior We come before you as a very
thankful people, a people thankful in our heart of hearts for you,
your love for us, your grace given to us. You care for us, providing for us, meeting the
needs of our homes, our lives, our hearts, our souls. Lord,
we couldn't even love you that you not put love in our heart
for you. And Lord, we thank you that you did that. And Lord,
we've gathered here to worship. We've gathered here to honor
the Lord Jesus Christ. So meet with us tonight. God,
help us tonight to honor your holy and blessed name. And Father,
bless the word to those who are here. Bless the word to those
that are listening and watching. And our Lord Jesus, we Again,
pray for Larry Matthews, Bruce Daly, and Sandy. Pray for Dee Dee and her family.
Pray for Bruce and Joe. Pray for Shelby. Oh, God bless
Shelby. Strengthen Shelby. Meet her needs. Uphold her by your precious power
and spirit. We ask these things in Christ
our Lord's name. Amen. and the summation of the tabernacle
you know we've been dealing with the tabernacle and all the things
that in it and as we've went through the tabernacle there's
a sameness all the way through it you know no matter what heading
we used whatever heading we used a truth is a truth no matter
how many times it's repeated And you know, in some places
you have more reasoning, you know, more emphasis on it. In
other places, you know, it just amplifies it a little bit. But
truth is always comes out the same. And you think about like,
you know, we considered the priesthood. We considered the priesthood.
And when we talk about the priesthood, you cannot help but talk about
the Lord Jesus Christ. We talked about the priestly
robes. And all the robes, especially the high priest robes, and the
ephod, and the breastplate, and the shoulder ouches on his shoulder. We talked about all those things.
We talked about the offerings. You know the only place in the
scriptures where a man is to give willingly, free will, by
his free will, is in giving. That's the only places where
a man, where in the scriptures where it says, let him give willingly.
the only place so the next time somebody starts telling you about
you know make a much out of free will said well you know the only
place look what it says there in verse 2 speak unto the children
of Israel that they bring me an offering for of every man
that giveth it willingly with his heart they didn't hold on they didn't
you know Aaron and them and Moses didn't go out there and beat
people over the head and said, now if you don't bring your tithes
in, God's gonna take it out of your car, gonna take it out of
your family, gonna take it out of your hide. You know, people
used to do that kind of stuff, and you know as well as I do.
And then look, you know, so we talked about the offerings, and
whether whatever these things you were talking about, you'll
find the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. When we talked about
the boards, made out of sheet of wood. incorruptible wood incorruptible
humanity covered in gold the gold the deity the glory of our
God in Jesus Christ one born but two things One was inside
and the gold on the outside. Christ was a man, but oh, He
was God too. And when we talk about those
great glorious priestly robes, we find the person of our Lord
Jesus Christ. We find the glory of our Lord
Jesus Christ. Everywhere we turned, everything
we dealt with. And you know, when we look at
the Bible, we see that God has a purpose in His Word. God has
a purpose. And the purpose of the symbols,
the purpose of the types and the pictures and the emblems,
all is to bring us face to face with His Son, the Lord Jesus
Christ. That's why God wrote this book,
that we might be confronted with the Lord Jesus Christ. And every
one of the purposes and every one of the pictures and types
and symbols, they were given to exalt God's blessed Son, the
Lord Jesus Christ. to set him forth as a man a real
man not a pretend man a real man a man that felt pain and
grief and tears and sorrow and joy a man who had to get tired
and had to sleep and rest and I tell you we come forth to forth
with a real man and also we come forth to forth when we go through
this blessed book especially the tabernacle with not only
was he a real man but he was God He was God. That's one of the most astounding
things that you'll ever be confronted with in this world is that God
who inhabited eternity that no man has ever seen that He came
down and took upon Himself a human nature come in a body and took
upon Him flesh and blood and bone and dwelt here and He didn't
cease to be God when He got here. But once he became a man, he'll
always be a man. But he never ever ceased to be
God. And that's what's so wonderful
about him. As a man, he can be touched with
the feelings of our infirmity. As God, he can do something about
it. And oh my! And we also come face to face
with the great fact that our Lord Jesus Christ, His work on
this earth was not just to live. Not just to live, but he come
into this world with one object in his view. That cross. That
death that he's going to die. The greatest event between the
histories is the death of the Lord Jesus Christ on a cross.
Everything that God purposed before that, come up to that
time. Everything since then, goes back to that time. As far
as God's concerned. And as far as you and I are concerned.
And I tell you, our Lord Jesus Christ, He came into this world
to die and He had an appointed hour, appointed time, an appointed
place, an appointed object, and an appointed purpose. And I tell
you what, Jesus knowing that all things should come upon Him,
you know what the scripture said? He went forth. He went forth. And I tell you what, all these
types were occupied not with an ethical, not with a Teacher,
not with someone to make us better and give us help on our way to
heaven. Someone just to encourage us
along. Someone to give us a shove in
the right direction. To make us moral and ethical.
That's not what He come to do. But He come to be a sacrifice
for sin. He come to die and be a sacrifice
for sin. And He was interested in all
ways when you find the sacrifices. And how many sacrifices do we
find in the tabernacle? And Christ came. They had a morning
lamb and an evening lamb. They had an offering for sin.
They had an offering for thanksgiving. They had an offering for peace.
They had all kinds of offerings. And they had all kinds of bread.
And they had all these things. And our Lord Jesus Christ, the
altars that were in there, everything about it showed us our Lord Jesus
Christ as a sacrifice and a blood offering and an intercessor on
our behalf. Huh? And I tell you what, And
when we look at this tabernacle, we look and we see an adorable,
a glorious, blessed person. We see a perfect, perfect work
that our Savior did. And all the infinite blessed
glory that belongs to Him and Him alone. And you know who we
call Him? Our great God and Savior, Jesus
Christ. You know, let me tell you this. You know, at the Tabernacle Submission,
we have a revelation. First thing I want to talk about,
we have a revelation of God's grace and God's order. Revelation of God's grace. And
the grace is this. that the Almighty Creator, that
God Himself should consent to come down and dwell among His
own creatures. The Creator come down here to
dwell among us. Oh my, you're talking about grace. I thought of this sometimes,
you know, grace provided grace. if that makes sense God in grace
gave you know Christ to give us grace grace come before grace
and that God himself the creator sustainer of the universe would
come down among us and dwell among creatures created us made
us in him we live move and have our being and yet he come down
here and dwelt among us and then the order order that everything
that was going to be done would be done in God's name it wasn't
people didn't have to guess at what God willed for them to do
that will had nothing to do with it or man's plan had nothing
to do with it but according to his pattern look what he says
here verse 8 and 9 let them make me a sanctuary that's what we're
talking about in grace Make me a sanctuary. What are you going
to do? I'm going to dwell among you.
I'm going to come dwell among you. That's what he said here. That's what I'm talking about. Grace. He comes to dwell among
us. Dwell among you. And then the order of it. Look
what he said. You know Moses said, listen,
you go do the best you can. This is what I want you to do.
I want you to build a tabernacle. And you know, I want it to kind
of resemble this, and I want it to kind of resemble that,
and I'd like it to look like this, and I'd like an altar like
this, and all that, and you figure it out, you know, you figure
it out as you go. Get you some good counselors to come in and
help you figure it out. No, no, look what it says, verse 9. According to all that I show
thee, you're going to make this thing exactly the way I tell
you to. The pattern of the tabernacle,
the pattern of all the instruments, thereof shall you make it. God
never left anything for a man to do. God said this is the way
it's going to be. He told them the size and everything
it was going to be. Told them everything that would
have gold. He told them how to dress. Told them all the offerings
to do. He told them everything about
that. He said why? Because I'm going
to come down and dwell among you. So God does things in order. order according to his pattern
according to his will according to his plan and this is something
that we preach this over and over again man absolutely has
nothing to do with this nothing nothing nothing you know in religion
in religion salvation is set forth as a cooperative effort
Or as God gives, you know, He offers you grace, and if you
accept grace, then He'll give you grace. And it's a cooperative
effort. I'll do my part, you do your
part. And you know, and here's the awful thing about it, is
man is the one that holds the upper hand in that situation.
He's the one that holds all the power. He's the one that holds
all the authority. God can't do nothing for him
unless he cooperates with God. I'm going to tell you a true
story. I was preaching over in Jamestown years and years ago.
And now this fella, you know, this guy over there, he had a
PhD. Which, you know, you can buy
one of them things, you know, off the internet. You got a hundred
dollars, you can buy you a piece of paper. But anyway, he had
one. And this is what this guy done. He used puppets to preach
the gospel with. And he used chalk talk, you know,
to get up and draw these images and stuff like that. He was bragging
to us about that and all that stuff. And I got up to preach
and I said, oh my. And he talked about, you know,
and I got off on this. I said, you reckon chalk talks
ever won one soul to the Lord Jesus Christ? I said, you reckon
God speak through men through a puppet? And they all start
talking about how much it costs to save a soul. I said, if it
takes money to save a soul, You live on the least amount of money
you can possibly live on. And you spend all the rest of
your money to win souls. And if it takes tracks, buy tracks
and only sleep two or three hours a day and get out and trash out
tracks. And I went through a whole litany
of things like that and that fellow jumped up and said, what
do you think we're supposed to do? I said, nothing. I'm telling you that's what I'm
telling you know one fella said one time at 47 cents I can win
a soul in Jesus if that's all it took I'd give everything I've
got and keep just enough to live on I Just keep a bed. I would have no other furniture
in the house. I wouldn't even have a house
I'd build me a tent or something live in it if that's that's what
I'm telling you how absurd it is religion becomes And here
God said, Moses I don't want you to do a thing. You ain't
going to guess at this. I'm not going to leave it up to you to
figure out how to do it. And I'm not going to leave it up
to Aaron or nobody else how to do this. I'm going to show you
and it's going to come out the way I want it or else it ain't
going to be because this is where I'm going to come and dwell among
men right here. And so I tell you what, when
God's going to come dwell among men, He's going to have it His
way. And when God came down to dwell among men, you know what
the first order of it was? Christ stood as the Lamb slain
before the foundation of the world. The second order of it
was, Son, I'm going to give you a people. But I tell you, those
people are sinners. Sinners of the worst die. And
if I send you down there, and if you go, you're going to have
to bear all their sin, all their guilt, all their shame, all their
grief, all their sorrow, bear their punishment, bear their
hell, bear their death. You know what he said? I'll go.
I'll go. He said, I'm going to come dwell
among men. And oh my, man's seen as the
master of his own fate. And I tell you, you can believe
fatalism, you can believe free willism, but you cannot believe
grace and believe in salvation by grace unless it's a revelation. And here's the second thing about
it. If it wasn't for free grace, if it wasn't for free grace,
you and I would be under the eternal silence of God. God would
not speak to us. God would be silent. God would
not hear His voice. We'd go through this world like
God didn't even exist. We'd never know that He was.
Had it not been for free grace. But when God told Moses to build
that tabernacle, He said, oh listen, I'm going to speak to
man. I'm going to come down and speak to him. Well how are you
going to speak to him? I'm going to dwell with him.
How are you going to speak to him? I'm going to send the Word
down. I'm going to send the Eternal
Word down. I'm going to send the Word, the Lord Jesus Christ.
I'm going to send my Son down. My blessed Savior, my blessed
Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. He'll come. He'll come and speak
to man. And you know what He'll speak
to man about? Me. How to come to me. How to know
me. How to have a relationship with
me. And I tell you what and he came
down to speak to men and dwell among men and when it says in
John 1 14 that he the word was made flesh and dwelt among us. You know what that word dwelt
means? Tabernacle. He come down to tabernacle among
us and like that tabernacle in the wilderness all you seen was
a tent a badger skin stretched over it And you looked at that
and it just looked awful. It was ugly. But boy, you go
on the inside. Gold, beautiful white linen,
embroidered linen up in the ceiling. Ah, beautiful, beautiful gold.
You walk in there and you see, like we come in here and watch
these walls, a bunch of boards up there, and they're just gold,
gold as far as I can see. It's beautiful, beautiful curtains
before you go in, a beautiful veil behind which the high priest
went in behind. Everything's beautiful, glorious
on the inside. On the outside didn't look like
nothing. And then that's the way our Lord Jesus Christ, most
men, I read it to you this morning, they said, is not this Jesus?
We know his mother and we know his sisters and we know them.
What in the world is he talking about? I come down from heaven.
And I tell you the word tabernacled among us in this and in this
wilderness. He bet among men in the wilderness
and I tell you Christ come down and we in this wilderness and
he's the one that meets with us. And not only that but our
Lord Jesus when he assumed human nature that living word assumed
human nature. He himself had to have a tabernacle
a body to live in. And you know Paul called this,
he called this body a tent. A tent, frail tent. Flesh, frail
tent. And oh my! And our God brought
His blessed Son, He came into this world, He created for Himself
a sinless, a perfect human nature. And took it into union with His
blessed, blessed Son. Godhead. And what was the reason
to die? To come for us? To save us? And you know, here's the thing
about it. That God said, I'm going to do
this. I'm going to do this. I'm going
to do it. And just as that blood was poured
out in the tabernacle. We read about the blood last
week. The blood before the Lord. And they poured out that blood
in that tabernacle. That blood was poured out in
the tabernacle. You know, they'd go in there
and they'd offer that blood, that labor, they'd wash yourself
and then they'd bring that blood in there. And they'd put that
sacrifice on that wood, but they'd take that blood and dump it out
before that altar. And so our Lord Jesus Christ
poured out His blood. Look in Hebrews 9 with me. You
keep this and look in Hebrews 9. Look over here in Hebrews
9 with me. You know, so the blood poured out of our
Lord's tabernacle. that oh my Christ entered into
the you know those high priest entered into that holy place
the holiest of holies but they didn't go in there without blood
they had to go behind there with blood they couldn't go in there
without blood and nobody could remove that veil you didn't take
the veil you had to go behind the veil He had to either go
behind it or lift it up. And I believe they slipped around
behind him. And when he went in there where that mercy seat
was, where that mercy seat over that ark of the covenant, where
he went in there and he took his blood in there and put that
blood on that mercy seat. And He laid that blood on that
mercy seat and sprinkled it seven times. And then He sprinkled
it seven times in front of it, showing us our perfect salvation,
our perfect Savior, our perfect mercy seat, blood perfectly shed
for His people. But look what it said here now. Verse 11, But Christ, being come
a high priest, by a greater and more perfect
tabernacle. What tabernacle? His body. Not
made with hands. That is not to say like that
building that was in the wilderness. And neither by the blood of goats
and calves. That's what they went in there
with. But by his own blood. He entered in once. And this
is what we're talking about going behind the veil. He entered in
once into the holy place. and obtain eternal redemption
for us and all listen he went behind that veil he went into
the very presence of God and he poured out his blood in God's
blessed presence and no power of man could remove that veil
and I tell you only the high priest but only with blood you
know what guarded that veil and that mercy seat behind there
God's righteousness, God's eternal righteousness. God said, I'm
so righteous, I'm so holy that you can't come behind here unless
you come behind here with blood. And God was that way in heaven.
He said, I'm so holy, I'm so lifted up, I'm so glorious that
the only way you can come behind the veil and come into the holiest
place is covered with blood. Well our Lord Jesus Christ entered
into the holiest of holy, that holy place in heaven itself,
in heaven itself to appear and poured out his own blood before
God. Now you know this is my opinion, I'm going to quit preaching
and tell you what I think. I think that when our Lord Jesus
Christ went into heaven that three hours of darkness that
was on the cross when nobody could see what was going on I
personally believe that's when our Lord went into heaven by
the Spirit of God by the Holy Ghost and took His blood and
entered into the presence of God and came back out and when that
Son come back out at three o'clock in the afternoon That son come
back out where they can see him. You know the last thing he said?
It is finished. Was finished. Blooded glory. Salvation. Forgiveness. Sin put
away. Holiness satisfied. God honored. Righteousness upheld. And I tell you what. God's righteousness
guarded the entrance into that holy place that no flesh, no
flesh could approach unto Him. And I tell you what, flesh can't
approach unto Him yet. They still can't do it. Only
one way you can come into the presence of God through our Lord
Jesus Christ by new birth. But now our Lord appears into
heaven itself, into heaven itself. He appears there It's our high
priest. Oh, you think Aaron would really
look nice in his high priestly robes? You imagine what our Lord
Jesus Christ looks like sitting on his throne. Oh, Aaron had on earthly things.
Christ has on heavenly things. Aaron only dealt with earthly
things. Christ deals with eternal things. He only had the name
in jewels on His breastplate and on His shoulders. But our
Lord Jesus Christ has Him on His heart. Carried Him on His
shoulders. Carried Him in the depths of
His soul, the depths of His heart. Oh my! And He appears there now
as our High Priest. Our High Priest. You know there's
lots of people who claim to be priests in this world. Law, they
claim to be priests. And they dress up, oh they dress
up nice. Wear these beautiful clothes
and all that stuff. Some of them wear white, some
of them wear black, some of them wear red. And I guess whatever
color you're wearing, that means how important you are. I don't
know. But you know there's priests
all over the world. But God only has one. And our high priest, and our
priest is not on this earth, our priest sits in God's right
hand. And you know what he took in?
You know the high priest went behind the veil with a sacrifice.
With blood. Christ went behind the veil into
heaven itself. And now, you know in the tabernacle
they never had no place to ever sit down. They offered the same
sacrifices over and over and over that can never take away
sin. Christ offered one sacrifice, once and for all, forever, and
put sin away one time. And by that sacrifice, He perfected
forever them that are sanctified. And now He entered into glory.
They didn't have a place to sit down because they just had to
be working all the time. But Christ did all the work.
He sat down. And guess where we're sitting? We're seated together with Him
in heavenly places. Why is He sitting down? Because
the work's done. He ain't got no more sacrifices to offer.
Don't need no more sacrifices. And He sits down there as the
representative of His people. And I'll tell you something,
beloved. And He sits there. And He, you know what He does?
He asks, Lord, my Father, take these sinful people, these sinful
children of Adam, Allow them into thy presence. Let them come
into your presence with me. Let them come in and enjoy your
presence with me. Let them know what it is to have
access to you by me. The throne of grace exists now. It was a throne of government,
a throne of judgment. Now it's a throne of grace. And
you know why it's a throne of grace? Because blood was centered
into the holy place itself and Christ took it there. And I tell
you, He's the fullness, the fullness of the Godhead dwelled being
in Christ alone. And I tell you what, Our Lord
Jesus Christ, I tell you this over and over and over, He satisfied,
this is my favorite word in the gospel, He satisfied all of God's
claims. All the conditions that God would
require for a man to be saved. He did it all. All to Him I owe. You know, and now all we do is
rest in Him. Rest in Him. He sat down because
His work is done and He tells us to sit down. Enter into our
rest. Quit working. Quit working. Enter
into His rest. Enter into His rest. And no matter
how you study the tabernacle, in which place you look, you'll
find in every detail the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. I don't care how you look at
it, which way you look at it, you'll see Him and Him alone. Our Father, thank you for allowing
us to meet here tonight. Thank you for your blessed truth.
Thank you for the word. Thank you that our Lord Jesus
Christ, Lord, we bless you that you did it all. And all to you
we owe. Oh Lord, we had no help, we had
no hope until you came in grace to dwell among us. You dwelt
among us in order to die, to bear our sins in your own body
on the tree, to satisfy a holy and a righteous
God so that He could justly give us grace and give us mercy. and
show His love toward us. He showed it through sending
you into this world. Thank you, Lord. God bless it
be your holy name. How holy and righteous in glory
you are. How we thankful. Oh, so thankful. God, how thankful we are. Bless
these dear saints as they go home. Keep them and preserve
them. Keep them healthy. Keep them
In our blessed hope, keep us in our Savior. We're asking His
name. Amen. Let's turn to 2.26. Is it 2.25? Did Jesus pay it
all? 1.25. Let's do 1.25. Jesus paid it all. All to Him
I owe. I hear the Savior say Thy strength
indeed is small Child of weakness, watch and pray Find in me thine
all in all Jesus paid it all, all to Him
I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow. Indeed I find Thy power and Thine
alone Can change the leper's spots And melt the heart of stone
Jesus paid it all All to Him I owe Sid had left a crimson
stain, he washed it white as snow. nothing good in thy grace to
claim I'll wash my garments white in the blood of Calvary's lamb
Jesus paid it all I love this. My lips shall still repeat Jesus paid it all All to Him
I owe Sin had left a crimson stain He washed it white as snow I'll see you
