If you'd like to follow along,
I'm gonna be in Psalms 145, the 145th Psalm. And I'm gonna begin
reading in verse 10. All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord, and thy saints shall
bless thee. They shall speak of the glory
of thy kingdom and talk of thy power. To make known to the sons
of men his mighty acts and the glorious majesty of his kingdom. Thy kingdom is an everlasting
kingdom and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations. The Lord upholdeth all that fall,
and raises up all those that be bowed down. I'm just gonna
stop right there. Now this is a Psalm of David. Okay, and actually, my Bible,
at the beginning of it, right underneath Psalm 145, it says
this, it says, David's Psalm of Praise, of Praise. I like
that. And then as you look at verse
one, two, and three, it says, I will extol thee, oh my God. My God, oh King, and I will bless
thy name forever and ever. Every day will I bless thee and
I will praise thy name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and
greatly to be praised and his greatness is unsearchable. That's the truth of it, folks.
The greatness of God is unsearchable. You can't figure it all out.
I can't figure it out. John Gill, who wrote a commentary
of this Bible that was probably, if you put it in one book, it'd
be about yay thick, about a foot thick. He couldn't search through
all the praises of God and the greatness of God. But that don't
mean we ain't supposed to try. We are, we are to praise his
name, what does it say? Forever and ever. That's the truth, that's what
it is. It brings me to a quote by John
Newton. I like this one because it's
true. When I was young, I was sure
of many things. Now, there are only two things
of which I am sure. One is that I'm a miserable sinner,
and the other is Christ is an all-sufficient Savior. That's
the truth. I remember being young, and I
remember being sure of a lot of things. I ain't so sure anymore. I'm not so sure anymore. but
those two things I know are true. I am a miserable sinner, and
Christ is an all-sufficient Savior. So, today, what I wanna preach
to you, this is my title, Paul, is Christ's kingdom. Christ's
kingdom. Because that's what I wanna talk
to you about from, where is it? Well, verses 11, 12, and 13. you'll see three descriptive
phrases of the kingdom of God. Now, I have no great mysterious secrets
of the kingdom to reveal today. We're not gonna go to the book
of Revelations and go on, because we don't have to. The kingdom
is described right here, and listen folks, this is in the
Old Testament. This is the Old Testament talking
about Christ's kingdom, God's kingdom. And I wanna praise him
when I do this because he's worthy to be praised. I do wanna declare
his greatness and I wanna bow before him in worship and in
thankfulness because without him, we'd have nowhere to go,
folks. But just starting in verse 10,
All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord, and thy saints shall
bless thee. They shall speak of the glory
of thy kingdom and talk of thy power. All thy works shall praise
him. All his works shall praise him. All God's works will praise him. Because you understand, everything
God does is good. And it's God good Not people
good. It's perfect. It's perfect. There's no hint of failure in
any of God's works. We fail. We may fall. But he lifts us up. It says that. He's promised it. And God will
lift up those who? That bow down. But you understand,
all his works shall praise him. Let me see. Let me tell you one
thing about the works of God. This is not the subject, but
I do want to point this out, okay? Known unto God are all
his works from the beginning. And you know what? All those
works praise him. I understand God knows what he's
doing in this world. I don't. And you don't either. And God help you if you watch
the news. I don't know what's going on
anywhere. Other than things are falling apart and evil men and
seducers are waxing worse and worse. That's about all I can
learn from the news today. And I do feel bad for them. where
they're shooting at each other over there in Gaza and the Middle
East and Israel. It's a mess. But you understand,
all his works praise him. All his works. He knows what
he's doing. We don't. We do not. Oh my. Because God does everything
according to his own will and purpose. I still remember Henry
yellin' out, I was listenin' to a sermon he was talkin' about
where, you know, Rolf Bartard asked him to quote Romans 8,
28. And he said, God does everything
he does on purpose. And all his works praise him.
All thy works shall praise thee. All of them. Oh, God always knowin'
what he's doin', God knows what he's doin', and God knows what
he is going to do. Matter of fact, Psalm 76 verse
10 says this. Surely the wrath of man shall
praise thee. Now that's something to think
of. The wrath of man shall praise thee. What else did he say? The
remainder of wrath thou shalt restrain. There ain't gonna be
that much wrath of man except what God allows. He'll restrain
what he wants to restrain. He's capable of it, he's willing
to do it at times. Oh my. The wrath of man praises
God, and the rest he restrains. All thy works shall praise thee. Oh Lord, oh Lord. But here we
go. Verse 11, he says, they shall
speak. Thy saints shall bless thee,
and they shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom. Now, I looked
it up in the Hebrew. The base meaning of this word
bless, because I've been talking about the blessings of God toward
us, where God has blessed us. Well, when it says, thy people
shall bless thee, what that word means is kneel, bow down. That's how we bless God. We bow
down to him. You understand? You're Lord,
he's Lord, and we're not. That's a hard thing for some
people to learn. You understand? They want what they want, and
they want it now. What I used to tell people, instant gratification
takes too long. When the Lord's people, thy people,
They bless thee, they're kneeling. And that's a kneeling in submission
to God. That's what it is. Oh my, the
saints, thy saints shall kneel in praise to thee. And, I like this part, and they
shall speak. Saints are not to be quiet. Now
granted, it doesn't mean everybody talks at once or anything, but
here it is. It says, thy saints shall bless thee and they shall
speak of the glory of thy kingdom. The first thing about Christ's
kingdom is that it's glorious. It's glorious. It's so glorious
we can't comprehend it. Oh my. praise his name and thank
him for his glorious work and his blessings, but believers
are to speak of this in praise, in honor, in submission to God. They are to speak of the glory
of his kingdom, thy kingdom, the kingdom of God spoken of
by believers. And I looked up that word where
it talks about the glory. It means the weight, the splendor,
Honor, and it means glorious. That's what it means. It's glorious. Oh my, what am I saying? Here's
the thing you wanna know about the glory of God's kingdom. It's
all good. It's all good. God good, I'm
saying. It's perfect. Oh my. The weight of it. Understand,
these are heavy things we talk about. This is the kingdom of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the kingdom of God itself. It is glorious,
and that don't mean it's just all shiny and everything else,
although it may very well be. For what it means, it's honorable,
and it's good. Oh my, it's everything we're
not, if you really wanna know the truth about it. It's everything
we're not. Understand, there's no evil,
no sin, no iniquity, no transgression in his kingdom. Why? Because it's glorious, it's glorious,
oh my. And thy people, thy saints, thy
believers shall speak and tell of his kingdom, the kingdom of
God. Because here's the thing, believers
like to speak of their king and his kingdom. Believers like to speak of their
family. You like to tell people about
your family. And folks, knowing the kingdom of God, knowing Jesus
Christ, we are his family. Not to say we're good or anything,
he born us into it. He born us into this family.
He put us in his family. And by gollies, I wanna tell
somebody about it sometimes. If you like to tell people about
Jesus Christ and what he's done for you, what he's done to you,
and what he's continuing to do. Oh my, they're gonna tell of
the kingdom of God. Matter of fact, they're gonna
speak of their federal head in awe and in love. And what's it
say? talk of thy power. Understand, one of the reasons
why his kingdom is glorious, because he has all the glory.
We don't have any glory. We don't have any glory. All
the glory is his. All the praise and the honor
go to him. All of the majesty, which is
the next thing. Mm, they speak of his power,
his splendor, his honor, and his glory. And here's the thing,
his glorious kingdom is where believers wanna be. That's where we want to be. And
verse 12 says this, to make known to the sons of men, again, His
mighty axe. Oh, I like that. And the glorious
majesty of His kingdom. The majesty of Christ's kingdom,
that's the second thing. Now, it does say, they speak
to make known to the sons of men of His mighty axe. You understand, there's a reason
we tell people that God saves us and we don't save ourselves. Because it's true, that's why. It's true. What is it? Salvation to God who sits on
the throne. Let all sing aloud and honor
the Son. That's the facts. That's the
way it is. Make known unto the sons of men
his mighty acts. Matter of fact, that's one of
the things we'll say. Known unto God are all his works from the
beginning. His mighty acts. Oh, I like that,
I do. The magnificence, the beauty,
the honor, or the majesty of Christ's kingdom. Because you
understand, the believer speaks of the majesty of his kingdom.
Understand, this is a real kingdom I'm talking about with a, Real
king. You understand, I've been around,
and years ago, back when I was, more ignorant than I am, I've
heard people, they talk about the kingdom this, they talk about
the kingdom that, and usually what they were talking about
then is the kingdom in the future. This is the Old Testament. Talking
about its kingdom. What, 700, 800 years ago, whatever
it was. I don't know. 700, 800 years before Christ came, they're
talking about his kingdom. Oh my. But we're talking about
the majesty of his kingdom. His majestic, what's that mean?
It means there's a ruler. It's beautiful, it's splendorous.
Splendorous. It's splendid. Matter of fact, the beauties
of holiness is his kingdom. The power of his kingdom has
no equal, and the magnificence of his kingdom is unmatched and
unsurpassed. The honor of his kingdom is glorious. His kingdom is majestic grace
and majestic mercy, mercy, because his kingdom is full of grace
and mercy, just like the king is. And the last one here is
the kingdom of, is an everlasting kingdom. And thy dominion endureth
through all generations. What's that? Forever and ever. The duration of Christ's kingdom,
it's everlasting. That's what it says. And that's
that same Greek word that I really like so well. It means perpetual. It's a perpetual kingdom. Everlasting
kingdom. It's an eternal kingdom. And what does that word mean?
You can look it up. I did it online, it's not hard to do.
It means it had no beginning and it has no end. I mean, Christ
has always had a kingdom. That's exactly what I mean. That's
exactly what I mean. Oh my. Oh, that's a good Hebrew
word, perpetual. I like that, I do. This kingdom
has no beginning and no end. And how is that possible? Well,
with men it's not possible. Oh, but with God, it's not possible
either. It's certain. It's certain. Oh. Everlasting is certain. Eternal is certain. Perpetual
is certain. Oh, I like that. Now, let me tell you one more
thing here. I know what some may have heard
some years ago, but let's be very, very clear
here. The kingdom of God, the kingdom
of Christ is singular. There's but one kingdom. Now,
there may be different aspects of it manifested at times. There's
a time coming in the book of Revelations, which I'm not going
into, where it talks about the kingdom. It's still this kingdom. It's still this kingdom. What? Glorious. majestic and
eternal. That's what it is. It doesn't
go anywhere, it hasn't changed and he hasn't changed because
here it is. The kingdom may not be seen by
the world. And as a matter of fact, I can
tell you this right now, the kingdom is not seen with your
eyes. It is only seen by the eye of faith and believing in
our Lord Jesus Christ. Right now, Believers see by faith. And the world doesn't see. The
world does not see because it can't. You understand, if our
gospel is hid to them that are lost, his kingdom is hid to them
that are lost. And that's just the truth of
it. But his word tells us of his kingdom. And we believe him. That's the thing. Then thy saints
shall speak. Oh my, I like that. His saints
believe him and his saints speak of him and his kingdom. Now, the glory of Christ's kingdom,
the majesty of his kingdom, the duration of his kingdom, and
I'm gonna tell you something. There's even something more glorious,
more majestic, and more eternal than that. What do I mean? What is more important than the
kingdom of God? Well, it's not a what, it's a
who. It's a who. Because I'll tell
you this, there's one thing that a kingdom must have to be a kingdom. And that's the king. If there is no king, there is
no kingdom. But we have a king. We have a
king, oh my. Understand, the reason the kingdom
of God is glorious and majestic and eternal is because of the
king of that kingdom. The Lord Jesus Christ. The reason for its perfection is because
of the perfect King of kings and Lord of lords. Oh my, he's the reason for the
kingdom in the first place. Lots of people, like I said,
wanna talk about it, they wanna speculate about the kingdom,
and I've heard them. They go on and on and on, but
they never mention the king of the kingdom. They leave that
out. You know why? Because they don't
know it. They get all wrapped up in what
they think are future events. They have conferences on future
events, you know. Oh my, we're gonna tell you about
the beast and the whatever, and the false prophet. Tell me about
the king. Tell me about the king. Because
you look at that book, the book of Revelation, and it's the revelation
of Jesus Christ. So if you're in the book of Revelations,
and you're not talking about Jesus Christ, you've missed the
point. And you don't know what you're
talking about. Because understand, there is no kingdom without the
king. Oh my. Because the glorious kingdom
has a glorious king. The majestic kingdom has a majestic
king. And the eternal kingdom has an
eternal king. Oh, I like that. And what do
we know about him? Well, he's the child that was
born and he's the son that was given. And he is Emmanuel, God
with us. He was God manifest in the flesh. Who is it? Our Lord Jesus Christ. He's the king of the kingdom.
Oh my, I'm gonna tell you something. There's nobody in his kingdom
without the permission, I'm not gonna say that, without the express
act his mighty acts of the king. Every one of his subjects in
his kingdom is someone whom he put there. What's he say? He's our head and we're his body. And he puts us in this body,
members, all of us members of his body where he wants us. Whether you're a finger or a
big toe or an eye or a nose or a mouth or ears, guess what? He puts us in his kingdom exactly
where he wants us. Oh my, and we're only in his
kingdom because he put us in it. He is the well-beloved Son,
the only begotten Son. He's the Lamb of God who was
slain from before the foundation of the world. And he now lives
forever and ever. And he ever liveth to make intercession
for us, for us. Oh, I like that. He took away
the sins, all the sins of all of his people forever and ever. Oh my, the perfect sacrifice
and offering for sin to the Father is our King. He's our King, oh
my. You understand, he's both Son
and King. and he's both alpha and omega,
the beginning and the end. Oh my. He's the eternal king
of God's eternal kingdom. Matter of fact, and it tells
us this, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. What's that mean? Well, if he
is king, He was king. If he is king, he'll always be
king. He's the same yesterday and today
and forever. Oh my. You understand, Jesus
Christ was king when he said in the beginning, let there be
light. He was king. He was king when
he said, my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? He was king when he said, it's
finished. And it was finished also. He was king when he said,
forgive them, Lord, for they know not what they do. And now, right now, he is seated
at the right hand of the majesty on high, making intercession
for his people. Who? Those that are in his kingdom. Those that are in him, oh my. We have so much in Jesus Christ,
our king. We have the glorious king of
the glorious kingdom, the majestic king of the majestic kingdom,
and the everlasting king of the everlasting kingdom. We have
the perfect king. of the perfect kingdom. That song we just sang. Ye servants
of God, your master proclaim. And publish abroad his wonderful
name. The name of victorious of Jesus
extol. But here it is, his kingdom is
glorious. And here's why, he rules over
all. I like that song, I do. Our Heavenly Father, we are thankful again for this
time and this place. And Lord, thank you so much for
your Son. Our Lord, our King, Jesus Christ,
who does rule over us and he rules over all. Thank you. Help us to see his
work, your work, which is glorious and which praises thee and help
us to understand what you are doing in this world and what
you have done for us and are doing for us. Be with your people
wherever they are. Lord, those that couldn't be
here for some hindering cause, for sickness and illness and
injury, Lord, bless your people wherever they are. And in Christ's
name we pray, amen.
