This sermon centers on the profound truth that through faith in Jesus Christ, believers are completely cleansed from all sin—past, present, and future—by His blood and imputed righteousness. Using the Old Testament law of leprosy in Leviticus 13 and the healing of the leper in Luke 5 as a powerful metaphor, it illustrates how sin, like leprosy, infects every part of humanity, yet Christ's touch brings immediate, total cleansing. The preacher emphasizes that this salvation is not earned by human effort or righteousness, which are likened to filthy rags, but is a finished work accomplished solely by Christ's sinless sacrifice and divine will. Though believers still struggle with sin in this life, they are declared clean before God, free from its penalty, power, and condemnation, and are clothed in Christ's perfect righteousness. The message concludes with a call to rest in Christ's completed work, inviting all to come to Him in faith, knowing that He is the only source of true, lasting, and complete salvation.

good, so good to do these messages. And I have a message today that I think will make we believers just so full of joy and so full of gratitude to our great God and King for the fact that our sins are completely forgiven, completely forgiven.
Open your Bibles, if you would, to the book of Leviticus, chapter 13, and we will read about how the priest in the Old Testament would examine a leper to see if they were infected or if they were clean. Leviticus, chapter 13. And we're going to read verse 13. The name of the message is, now this is wonderful, completely cleansed. Completely cleansed.
And we're going to see in Luke chapter 5, put your finger on Luke chapter 5, because we're going to see leprosy is a picture of sin. And we're going to see the Lord Jesus Christ heals a leper, and he's completely cleansed. And beloved, we were born with the leprosy of sin. Oh my, we were born sinners, dead in trespasses and sins. but in Christ we are cleansed completely from all our sins by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and we are clothed in his perfect righteousness which is being imputed to us. Oh, it's absolutely wonderful.
And the reason The reason we are saved is because Christ took our punishment, beloved. He took our punishment. His blood was shed to make atonement for our sins, to cleanse us from all our sins. and all who trust and rest in the Lord Jesus Christ are cleansed. Now this is wonderful news for sinners, are cleansed from all their sins. I mean every one, every thought, every word, every deed, sin we've ever done or ever will do, washed under the blood of Christ. That's wonderful. Completely cleansed.
Let's read this in Leviticus 13, 13. Then the priest shall consider and behold, if the leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean. Hath the plague, pronounce him clean that hath the plague. It is all turned white. He is clean. White, clean, no leprosy left.
My Beloved of God, when our Lord Jesus Christ saves sinners, He completely saves sinners from all their sin. I mean even the ones that are only between us and God, that no one on this earth will ever know about. Cleansed from all our sin.
I was telling some men last night, I said I was sitting there in McDonald's the other day on my day off, and I'm sitting there and I'm I had the most wicked thought come into my mind. I mean, it was just vile. And I pleaded the blood of Christ right away. I told Vicki about it afterwards. I didn't tell her what the thought was, but I told her, I said, oh my, I had the most wicked, vile thought come into my mind. And I pleaded the blood of Christ. And I asked the Lord right there, Lord, oh, please take this from me and forgive me for even thinking this way. And it was not more than a few seconds later that peace poured into my soul.
My, we need to keep looking to Christ, don't we? We need, we sinners, we sinner saints, right? That's what we are as the people of God. We're sinner saints. And we can think the most vile things. just as anybody else in that world. This flesh, we're still dealing with this flesh, aren't we? But praise God for the blood of the Lamb. Praise God for forgiveness from all our sins, even the most vile things. Again, that's only between us and God. Oh, He's so good. Oh, we're cleansed, cleansed in His precious blood, completely saved.
And our Lord Jesus Christ saves sinners. He completely saves sinners. No one can come to Christ with a little bit of their own supposed righteousness. None! Because our righteousness is like filthy rags in the eyes of the Lord. We are sinners in thought, word, and deed. in our natural state, and even when we're born again, we're still sinners in thought, word, and deed.
But praise God, our sins are all washed under the blood of Christ. And God says, when I see the blood, I'll pass over you. Hallelujah, what a Savior is Jesus Christ, my Lord. That's absolutely amazing.
We sinner saints, we know that everything we do is tainted with sin, but praise be to God, we're totally forgiven by the blood of Christ and through his perfect righteousness. Oh, it's, it's just, it's, people say things are too good to be true. Oh my, this isn't too good to be true. It's true. But in our minds we think, oh my, this is amazing. This is amazing grace. This is wondrous. But it's true. My.
Now the plague of leprosy is a picture of, of sin. The plague of sin, it infests every fiber of mankind. We're not just born mostly sinners. We're born sinners dead and trespasses in sin.
Listen to what it says in Isaiah 1, 6. From the sole of the foot, that's the bottom of the foot, onto the head. the top of the head. There is no soundness in it, but wounds and bruises and petrifying sores. They have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
" Remember, Christ is a picture. The Good Samaritan is a picture of Christ. And what did he do? He put ointment on that man's bruises and open wounds. Oh, he wrapped them up And he took him to the inn, and he took care of him and said, whatever he incurs, put it on my account. That's what the Lord Jesus Christ did for we who are believers.
We fell in Adam, dead, sin from the top of our head to the bottom of our feet. Oh, in this truth, God, our Savior, reveals to all His born-again blood-washed people that He's chosen before the foundation of the world and that He calls by His effectual grace, His electing grace, when we have revealed to us Christ in all His perfection. that we're such sinners, but he's so perfect.
Oh my, my savior is a king. My savior is perfect. I'm so imperfect and my savior is so perfect. He's sinless and spotless. He's the lamb of God that takes away the sins of all his people. And it's wonder, so people all spread out through this world. Oh, it's wonderful.
By faith, we cry unto him as the leper we're going to look at in Luke 5 did, crying, unclean, unclean. Oh, we cry out when God's drawn us and the Holy Spirit's regenerating power saves us and gives us faith and repentance before God. We cry out, unclean, I'm so unclean.
But then the balm of Gilead. and praise God by the virtue of Christ and his perfect, complete sacrifice. We who are the born again people of God are made perfectly righteous before God. Still sinners in this world, but perfectly righteous before our King, all because of what the Lord Jesus Christ did for us. by giving his life.
It's Christ, the perfect Savior, who has obtained eternal salvation for us through his blood and righteousness. He has perfectly completed a perfect salvation for imperfect sinners. Isn't that amazing? All by his work, all through his blood, all through his righteousness. It's absolutely amazing.
And then he proclaims the sinner that's covered under his blood completely clean. Oh my, completely clean, forgiven of all, all our sins.
Now turn to Luke chapter five. This is, I just love this portion of scripture because we who are the believers are this leopard. And remember, In order for this man to come to Christ, he had to cry all the way to going to where Christ was, unclean, unclean, and people would separate from him and be like, oh, it's a leper. And he'd have to cry all that way from wherever he came from to get to the feet of Christ, beloved.
Oh my, and I want you to note something here. I want you to note something here. I want you to note that our Lord puts forth his hand upon this leper and is not defiled. He's the perfect, spotless, sinless lamb of God. But oh, with that touch, that man is cleansed from all his leprosy by the word and power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Oh, this is just marvelous, beloved.
Luke chapter 5, starting in verse 12, and we're going to read to verse 15. And it came to pass when he was in a certain city, this is by divine providence and according to the divine will of God, behold, a man full of leprosy. Now this man has leprosy from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet. It's a picture of a lost sinner. Because leprosy is a picture of sin in the Bible. This man is completely full of leprosy. We are completely full of sin, aren't we? Oh my.
Who seeing Jesus fell on his face, he doesn't even count himself worthy to look at the Lord Jesus Christ. And he saw him saying, now look what he called him. Oh, God's people call Christ this. God's people call Christ something being done in this man. For him to call Christ Lord Something's been done. He's born again of the Holy Spirit of God Look at this who's seeing Jesus Oh fell on his face and beside him saying Lord if thou will thou can make me clean I Imagine there's tears running down his face If you will Lord If you will
And what does the Lord Jesus Christ do? This is so beautiful. And he put forth his hand and touched him, saying, I will. Oh, that's an I will of God in the flesh, beloved. That's an I will of God, the word of God, the second person of the Trinity. And what he wills will come to pass. And he says, I will. Be thou clean.
And look at this. He didn't have to go to the doctor five times a week, did he? Later, I thought, and immediately, right away, beloved. This is a healing touch of the Lord Jesus Christ. And this is what happens when the Lord saves us, when we're born again by the Holy Spirit of God, and we trust Christ by God-given faith. Look at this. And immediately, immediately. No physical therapy, nothing, right? Immediately. No having to take any pills or anything immediately. The leprosy departed from it. It's gone. It's gone. You can't find it. Where are our sins? They're gone, beloved. They're covered under the blood of Christ. Oh, praise his mighty name.
And look what the Lord says, and he charged him to tell no man, but go and show thyself to the priest. Why? So the law could examine him, and there's nothing. The law has no claim on him. No claim on him, beloved. Oh my! The law has no claim on the born-again blood-washed believer. Isn't this wonderful? He says, go see the priest and offer for thy cleansing. according to as Moses commanded for him, a testimony unto them.
But so much more went there a fame abroad of him, and great multitudes came together to hear and to be healed of him by their affirmities, or of their affirmities.
Marvel at verse 13. Marvel at this. Our Lord God in the flesh answers this lowly leopard, I will. He says, if the Lord, if thou will, thou can make me clean. I will. I will. Oh, that's what he says to all his people. I will. Be thou clean. And immediately, the leprosy departed from him. If our great high priest pronounces us clean, beloved, then we are completely free of sin before God. I unashamedly say that we are completely free of sin, of its condemnation, of its power, not of its presence, but we are free from the penalty of sin, we are free from the consequences of sin, and we're free from the power of sin. It doesn't have the hold on us it once did. We're still sinners and we are reminded daily that we need Christ by our sin. But praise God, we are completely cleansed. We are completely forgiven. All our sins, beloved, even the ones we still yet have to commit, which we will. When I say have yet, we will commit them, unfortunately. But they're all forgiven. They're all forgiven.
These are precious words. Marvel at these words. Marvel at how the leopard would have rejoiced in his heart to hear this. Lord, if thou will, thou can make me clean. I will be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him. Imagine him being in awe. The Lord has cleansed me. Is that not what we say? We have the most wicked, vile thoughts. The Lord's cleansing me, though praise his mighty name. I'm covered under the blood of Christ. Hear not, count those against me. Oh, again, if our great high priest pronounces us clean, then we are completely clean. We are free of sin before God.
Now there's the note, before God. We still have sin plaguing us, but we're completely free of the penalty of sin. and the power of sin. Oh my. Now we have an advocate in heaven, Jesus Christ, the righteous. Now once in the world, he hath appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. Now the scriptures there in Hebrews, Hebrews 9.26, it says there that he hath appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. Let us live in that. Let us live in that truth. This is a finished, complete work. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses, Colossians 2.13.
Beloved God, we may not be able to rest in the living experience of this wonderful, miraculous work of grace every moment of every day. However, this is the way God sees us. completely cleansed. We don't always feel that way, because we're sinners still, but God looks at us now. Let this burn into your heart. By the grace and mercy of God, through the Lord Jesus Christ and his shed blood and righteousness, God sees me as completely clean. Oh, hallelujah. And those whom he has cleansed and revealed Christ to, We believe by grace. There's two things which we believe by grace that we absolutely know. First, his own complete, his Christ's own complete sinlessness and our total unworthiness. We know that now, don't we? We know that. His complete sinlessness and our complete unworthiness. And yet here we are cleansed by the blood of Christ. And number two, Christ our Lord. Christ is our Lord. and he is our complete salvation. There is salvation in no other but the Lord Jesus Christ.
Listen to this. Colossians says this, 2, 9 and 10. For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye, pause right at the born again blood-washed saints, and ye, and ye are complete in him. Praise his mighty name. which is the head of all principality and power. Praise the name of Jesus. We are completely cleansed by his precious blood, and we stand justified before God, clothed in his righteousness. What a Savior, what a Redeemer is Jesus Christ our Lord. Come, he said, come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. And oh, he gives us rest from our labors, doesn't he? Because he done all the work. There's nothing for us to do but look to him. All we do is look to him. There's life in the look. I pray God will have you look. If you haven't looked to Christ, I pray God will have you look to Christ to the saving of your soul. Amen and amen.
