No Other Salvation!

Wayne Boyd August, 28 2025 Video & Audio
Acts 4:12
This sermon centers on the unwavering truth that salvation is exclusively found in the Lord Jesus Christ, drawing heavily from Acts 4 and intertwining Old and New Testament scripture. It emphasizes that Christ's sacrifice, His role as the Good Shepherd, and His status as the cornerstone of faith provide the only path to redemption, fulfilling Old Testament prophecies and offering forgiveness for sin. The message underscores that attempts to find salvation through other means—be they religious practices or figures—are futile, as Christ alone is the designated name given by God through whom humanity can be saved, a truth revealed through both His divine nature and His perfect obedience to the law.

to Acts chapter 4. The name of the message is, No
Other Salvation. Acts chapter 4. We'll read verses
10 to 14, with verse 12 being our text for this message. Now,
the Lord had healed an impotent man at the gate called Beautiful
in chapter 3, and Peter said these words to him. Let's read
verses 6 to 8, Acts chapter 3. says then Peter said silver and
gold have I none but such as I have I give thee or give I
thee in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk
and he took him by the right hand and lifted him up and immediately
his feet and ankle bones received strength and he The lame man,
leaping up, stood and walked and entered with them into the
temple, walking and leaping and praising God. My oh my, this
man, he hadn't walked for years, years and years and years. Peter and John, And the man who
had healed, who had been healed by the Lord Jesus Christ, are
standing in front of the Ananias now, the high priest, in Acts
chapter 4, verses 10 to 14. They're standing before this
high priest Caiaphas, and John and Alexander, and as many as
were of the kindred of the high priest. And let's look at what
Peter says to them in Acts 4, verses 10 to 14. Be it known unto you all, and
to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ
of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God hath raised from the
dead, even by him, that this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone, being Christ,
which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the
head of the corner." And here's our text for this message. Is there salvation in any other? That's pretty clear, isn't it?
That means what it says. It means there's no salvation
in any other. For there is none other name
under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. And that name is the Lord Jesus
Christ, God incarnate in the flesh. the Word of God who became
flesh and came and dwelt among us, the perfect, sinless, spotless
Lamb of God. Now, when they saw the boldness
of Peter and John and perceived, look at this. So, I was talking
to a couple guys this week about this, a couple dear brethren,
and we were talking about seminaries and all that. Well, Peter and
John wouldn't fit in in seminaries, because look at this. These guys
who had been to their little seminaries and their own teaching
places, look at, when they saw the boldness of Peter and John
and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men. Ah,
these guys don't know nothing. They've not studied in our schools.
They don't have no certificate. Really? No. They marveled. And look at this,
and they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus.
They'd been with God in the flesh. God the Holy Spirit's their teacher,
isn't he? Oh yeah. And beholding the man
which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing
against it. That man standing there fully
healed by the Lord Jesus Christ, because Peter said it wasn't
by our hands, it was by the Lord Jesus Christ, their mouths were
shut. So let's take note of the clear
fact proclaimed by Peter in verse 12, that there is no salvation
in anyone other than the Lord Jesus Christ. Let's read that
verse again, Acts 4, 12. Neither is there salvation in
any other, so no other man, no other religion, right? Not Buddha, not Muhammad, not
Mary, and any other false god, someone
wants to stick in there. They're just false gods. Neither is there salvation in
any other, for there's none other name under heaven given among
men whereby we must be saved. Now, I want to present to us
seven points about the fact that there is no salvation in any
other but in and through the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the
only way of salvation. To be saved from our sins, The
only way we can be saved from our sins and be in the presence
of God in heaven at the time of our death is to rest and trust
and have God-given faith looking to the Savior. And that's all
by the grace and mercy of God. Salvation is only in and through
Christ and His blood and righteousness. Nowhere else. So the first point
is this. There is no other savior but
the lord jesus christ to look for salvation there's there's
no other savior for us to look to for salvation and this truth
is proclaimed in the old testament and in the new testament isaiah
45 21 tell ye and bring them near Let
them take counsel together. Who hath declared this from ancient
time? Who hath told it from that time? Have not I the Lord? And there
is no other God beside me. Listen to this. A just God and
Savior. Who is our Savior? The Word of
God. The very one who is saying these
words. Just God and Savior. There is none beside me. Look
unto me and be ye saved. Look unto the Word of God. Look
unto God incarnated in the flesh. Look unto Jesus, because there's
no salvation in any other. Look unto me. And be ye saved,
all the ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is none else.
Isaiah 45, verses 21 and 22. And then, over in the New Testament,
the words of the master in John chapter 14, 6, and how this ties
in so wonderfully with what we just read. Listen to this. Jesus saith unto him, I am the
way. truth and the life. No man cometh
unto the Father but by me. He's proclaiming that there's
no salvation in anyone but him. There's no way to be in the Father's
presence except through Christ. And then the second point of
no other salvation except in Christ is this. There's no other
sacrifice but Jesus Christ to cleanse us from all sin. See,
all those sacrifices offered in the Old Testament, they could
never take away sin. But God sent his Son, the Lamb
of God, the Passover Lamb for his people. All those Old Testament
sins could never take away sin, but here comes the Lamb of God,
God incarnate in the flesh, to save His people from their sins.
Listen to this. In 1 John, verse 1-7, But if
we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship
with one another. In the blood of Jesus Christ,
His Son cleanses us from all sin. My oh my, he's the only sacrifice
that God will accept for sinners. The third point, in that the
fact that there's no other salvation but in Jesus Christ, is Jesus
Christ came to redeem us from the curse of the law. Now the law had a rightful claim
on all of us, didn't it? By nature. But listen to this. You know, Scripture declares
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness. There's nothing
we can do to make us righteous before God. Nothing. As a matter of fact, that's foolishness.
Nothing we can wear, nothing we can say, nothing we can do
would make us righteous before God. We are made righteous by
Christ and by Christ alone. Christ, Galatians 3.13, Christ,
what has he done? Hath redeemed us. Well, he purchased
us with his blood, didn't he? But what did he redeem us from?
From the curse of the law. He redeemed us from the curse
of the law. Yes, he did. Being made a curse for us, for
it's written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree. The scripture
says, the soul that sins, it must die. So Christ dies in the
ruined place of his people. The perfect spotless lamb of
God. Perfect in life, perfect in death. Isn't that amazing? And he redeemed
us with his blood. His blood. My. Third point. There's no other
substitute but Jesus Christ. There's no salvation in any other
but Christ because there's no other substitute than Jesus Christ. I just did that one, didn't I?
Who came to redeem us. So marvel, beloved, we've been
redeemed by the precious blood of the God-man, the Lord Jesus
Christ, the perfect sinless one in life and death. Number four. There's no other salvation but
in and through the Lord Jesus Christ, because Christ himself,
God in the flesh, this is amazing, honored and established righteousness
for us. He honored the law of God, and
he established a perfect righteousness for us. Listen to this in Isaiah. Oh, this is magnificent. Isaiah
42, verse one. Behold my servant, That's Christ. God's servant is Christ. Behold
my servant, whom I uphold, mine elect. See, we're chosen in him. Oh, it's wonderful. And whom my soul delights. God
delights in Christ. Now, if God delights in Christ,
does that mean he delights in all of us in Christ? Absolutely. That's amazing. And whom my soul
delighteth, I put my spirit upon him, and he shall bring forth
judgment to the Gentiles. And a little further down in
Isaiah 42, listen to this in verse 21. This is just magnificent. The Lord is well pleased for
his righteousness. For his righteousness sake, he
will magnify the law. When did he magnify the law?
When he became a man. when he honored and magnified
the law in our room and place. Oh my. I'll read this again. The Lord is well pleased for
his righteousness sake. He will magnify the law and make
it honorable. God is the one, the law giver
is the one who honors the law and magnifies the law. Oh my. So it's counted for us as we've
honored the law when we didn't do nothing, God did it all. The Lord Jesus Christ, God in
the flesh. Now, how do we know that? Well,
turn, if you would, to Romans chapter 4. And here, here it
comes. Romans chapter 4. Because Christ
honored the law and magnified the law and made it honorable,
listen to this. Romans chapter 4, starting in
verse 6. Even as David also described
the blessedness of the man unto whom God imputed righteousness
without works. without doing anything. See, this is why I ask people
who put themselves under the law, why? In any little manner,
why? Beloved, we've been redeemed
out from the curse of the law. Now, the law is there. We honor
it. We love it. God is glorious. We don't want
to go contrary to it. but it's already been fulfilled
in our room and place by our King, the Lord Jesus Christ.
I'll read it again. Romans 4, 6, even as David also
described it, the blessedness of the man. We people of God
are blessed. Why? Unto whom God imputed righteousness
without works. This is incredible. We're clothed
in the righteousness of Christ based upon absolutely nothing
we've done. That's magnificent. We're qualified for heaven. We're
made fit to be in the presence of God. All because of what Christ
does. He keeps going. This is wonderful.
He's quoting David, saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are
forgiven and whose sins are covered. That's talking about the Lord's
people. That's talking about born-again, blood-washed sins.
Listen to that again. Blessed are they whose iniquities
are forgiven. How many? All of them. Look at
this. And in whom sins are covered.
Covered in what? The blood of Christ. Oh my, it's
wonderful. And then, in verse 8, he sums
it up and goes, Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not
impute sin. Hallelujah. Our sins aren't counted
against us. They're bought and paid for.
Oh my. They've been blotted out by the
blood of Christ. It's amazing. What a Savior. What a Savior is Jesus Christ
our Lord. And then, in the fact that there's
salvation in no other but Christ, the fifth point is this. There's
no other surety but the Lord Jesus Christ. To guarantee all
the terms of the everlasting covenant, Listen to this in Hebrews
7.22. It says, But by so much was Jesus
made a surety of a better testament. A guarantor. A guarantor. The everlasting covenant and
then we learn this in Hebrews 9 12 neither by the blood of
goats and calves But by his own blood he entered in once unto
the holy place having obtained eternal redemption for us It's
finished He's our surety. He's the guarantor of our salvation
and he did it by shedding his own precious blood And we say
hallelujah. What a what a Savior number six
Number six, there's no other salvation except in Christ because
there's no other shepherd but the Lord Jesus Christ. That can
effectively justify and bring the lost sheep home. Listen to
this. Psalm 23, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. We
have all spiritual blessings in him, beloved. He saved our
souls. People say, well, that's all
material stuff. No, that want is spiritually. We don't have
anything. Everything's being accomplished
for our salvation. It's wonderful. And then in the
New Testament, over in Hebrews chapter 13, says this, now the
God of peace that bought again from the dead, our Lord Jesus
Christ, that great shepherd of the sheep. See, David said, the
Lord is my shepherd. And God tells us, God, the Holy
Spirit, tells us by the pen men of Hebrews. that the great shepherd
of the sheep is the Lord Jesus Christ. Listen to this again.
Now the God of peace that bought again from the dead our Lord
Jesus Christ, our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep
through the blood of the everlasting covenant. Oh, there it is. Make
you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you. See, God's working in us. That
which is well-pleasing in his sight. We're being conformed
to the image of Christ, beloved. Why? Through Jesus Christ, to
whom be glory forever and ever, amen. Isn't that wonderful? And
the seventh point, and the last point, that there's salvation
in no other salvation other than in the Lord Jesus Christ, is
Jesus Christ is the sure foundation, and there is no other sure foundation
but Christ. Listen to this in Isaiah. Listen
to this. This is amazing. Therefore Isaiah
28 16 if you want to write it down Therefore thus saith the
Lord God behold. I lay in Zion for a foundation
a stone Stone a tried stone Precious cornerstone a sure foundation
ah We can stake our eternal souls upon this sure foundation, can't
we? A sure foundation. He that believeth
shall not make haste. And then, over in the New Testament,
Peter says this. In 2 Peter 2, verses 6 and 7,
he says, See how the Holy Spirit tied that together? That's Christ. Who's precious
to the believers? Christ. Unto you, therefore, which believe,
he is precious. But unto them which be disobedient,
the stone which the builders disallowed, the same as the head
of the corner. He's a stone that's going to
grind them into powder, isn't it? And the only difference between
you and I, we go back to the first message, is the electing
grace of God in Christ. That's it. So we clearly see
from scripture that there is no salvation outside of Christ.
Our text proclaims this, and we've seen in the scriptures,
it's all through the scriptures that salvation is only in the
Lord Jesus Christ. I'll read that one verse again
in Acts chapter 4, verse 12, and we're closed with this. Neither
is there salvation in any other, for there's none other name given
among heaven, or given among men, Okay, I'll start that again. Neither is there salvation in
any other, for there is none other name under heaven given
among men, whereby we must be saved. And I say, and you say,
amen and amen.
