The sermon "He Will See to It!" by Norm Wells addresses the theological concept of God's providence and His sovereignty in salvation, emphasizing that God is in control of every aspect of redemption. Wells uses the account of Abraham's binding of Isaac from Genesis 22 as a foundational narrative to illustrate that God promised to provide the lamb for the sacrifice, signifying Christ as the ultimate substitute in God's redemptive plan. This is supported scripturally by referencing John 5:46, where Jesus indicates that Moses wrote about Him, and Hebrews 11:17-19, which discusses Abraham's faith in God's ability to raise Isaac from the dead. By tying these narratives together, Wells highlights the significance of trusting in God's provision not only for Abraham’s immediate need but ultimately for the salvation of His people. The implications of this theology stress the assurance believers can have in God's plans, reinforcing the Reformed understanding of unconditional election and the preservation of the saints.

Once again, it is indeed a wonderful
privilege to be here in Almonte to be with you. We're so thankful
Nancy and I had a great trip. We've had wonderful fellowship
up to this point, and we're looking forward to more. I really appreciated
that song a great deal, and there's a couple lines in it. I'm not
sure whether I had it written down exactly like it was said,
but since Jesus bled and died, there is no sin charged to me. Can there be any better thing?
Can there be any better grace than that? That no sin is charged
to me and then that Jesus only shall be my plea. You know that's
preaching. There's messages there that we
can carry with us all the time. Well. When Brother Wayne call
me. I said. He said, I want you to
speak five times. And you know, Brother Gary Shepard
came out to Oregon some time ago, and after he spoke five
times, he said, Norm, you always work a borrowed mule the most. Well, I don't feel like one.
I just feel like it's just a blessing to be here. There are five messages
that I'd like to preach, and they begin In John chapter 5,
I want to read four passages of scripture that have to do
with something Moses said. And then I'd like to bring a
message from the book of Genesis. Now, we're not going to read
the entire book of Genesis, but we're going to preach a message
from Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy, the
Pentateuch, those five books of Moses. We'd like to spend
some time in looking at there. There's so much in all of those
books, it took some settling on where to be. But in the book
of John chapter 5, would you turn there with me? The book
of John chapter 5. These are the words of the Lord
Jesus speaking to a group of people that said they believe
Moses. And you know, they held to the
Pentateuch. They said they believed the law of Moses and so forth. But here in John chapter 5, beginning
with verse 45, do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one that accuseth you,
even Moses, in whom you trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye
would have believed me, for Moses wrote of me. First five books
of the Old Testament are the five books of Moses, and Jesus
Christ said here to these people that Moses wrote to me. When
we read through those five books, we're going to find the message
of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. I believe Old Testament saints
understood him as the Messiah. We understand him as Christ,
one is Hebrew, the other is Greek. One is Old Testament, one is
New Testament, but they mean exactly the same thing. And here
he is, the person of Christ. All right, join me back up, if
you would, to the book of Luke. There are a couple of readings
in the book of Luke I would like to make tonight, and one is found
in John chapter 16. John chapter 16, beginning with
verse 22. Now this is an interesting passage
of scripture, for the Lord again brings up an incident. Now, some
people say this is a parable. I believe this is just an actual
happening. There was a man that died and
he lifted up his eyes in hell being in torment. Now, here's
a conversation that the Lord shares with us with regards to
some words that Abraham said to a man in hell. It tells us
here beginning with verse 22 of Luke chapter 16, verse 22,
and it came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by
the angels into Abraham's bosom. That is another name for heaven. That's another name for the presence
of the Lord. The rich man also died and was
buried, and in hell he lift up his eyes being in torments, and
seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. By the grace of
God, even in hell, this man was able to see this man Abraham,
and was able to have a conversation with him. Now, I don't know if
it's ever going to happen again, if anybody else is ever going
to be able to do that. That's not important. What is
important, the Lord shares with us this passage and it says here, and he cried and said, Father
Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus that he may dip
the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, for I am
tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember
that thou in thy lifetime receivest thy good things." Did you notice
what Abraham said about this man in hell? Son, there was a
natural relationship between this man and Abraham. He was
a descendant of Abraham. Guess what? The Lazarus that
is in the bosom of Abraham was a spiritual descendant of Abraham. Here we have both lines. Here
we have the Isaac's and the Ishmael's. Here we have the Jacob's and
the Esau's. And here we have God giving us
an inside track on what is the only thing that God will ever
use to change anybody about the Lord Jesus Christ himself. It
says, and Abraham said there, In thy lifetime receivest thy
good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things, but now he is comforted,
and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between
us there is a great gulf fixed, so that they which would pass
from hence to you cannot, neither can they pass to us, that would
come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore
father that thou would ascend him to my father's house for
I have five brothers that he may testify unto them lest they
also come into this place of torment. Abraham said unto him,
now notice with me. Verse 29 these are the words
of Abraham And if you have a book with red letter edition the words
of the Lord Jesus in red you will notice these are the words
of the Lord Jesus Christ He is declaring this and we have these
words down to this hour to this minute. These are the words of
the Lord Jesus Christ Abraham said unto him the Lord says this
is what Abraham said they have Moses and the prophets let them
hear them He said, ''Nay, Father Abraham, but if one went unto
them from the dead, they will repent.'' He said unto him, ''Jesus
Christ is declaring this.'' He is using Abraham to give us the
message. He said unto him, ''If they hear
not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though
one rose from the dead.'' Now, this is prior to the resurrection.
This is prior to the trial. This is prior to the death of
the Lord Jesus Christ on a cross. This is prior to him being buried,
and this is prior to him coming forth from the tomb. He is saying,
if mankind, if somebody will not believe the message that
Moses had, they will not believe me even though I rise from the
dead. You know what? After Jesus Christ
came out of the tomb, there were those people that paid good money. so that people would lie about
the resurrection of Jesus Christ. They would not believe. Who believes? All those that Christ reveals
himself to have no problem with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
You know what? God's people even today believe
the message of Moses that he preached in Genesis, Exodus,
Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. This is the gospel in the Old
Testament. All right, turn with me if you
would to Luke chapter 24. In Luke chapter 24, beginning
with verse 25, after the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, we
have him appearing to some people. By the grace of God and by his
own purpose of grace, he withheld himself from letting those folks
know who he is. Isn't that interesting? That
the Lord of glory would determine that he would not let these folks
know who he is when he's talking to them. He hid himself. You
know, he's still about that business. We don't know him, even though
he may be speaking. We don't know him until he reveals
himself to us. In the new birth, we are given
the inside track about the Holy Spirit's revelation of Jesus
Christ. Peter said, thou art the Christ,
the Son of the living God. And the Holy Spirit said, or
the Lord Jesus said, flesh and blood did not reveal this unto
you. But my Father, which is in heaven, as much as we may
have read the scriptures, even as the Pharisees did and memorize
the scriptures, even as the Pharisees did, if it's not revealed to
us in the new birth, we will never see it. All right, here
in the book of Luke chapter 24 and beginning with verse 25,
we have these words recorded for us again. Verse 25, and he
said unto them, all fools and slow of heart to believe all
that the prophets have spoken. At the time of the Lord Jesus,
even at the time of his resurrection, even 100 years after his birth,
the canon was not put together as we know it. They did not have
what we know as the New Testament. They did not have the Apostle
Paul taking a passage from the book of the Psalms and giving
to us Romans chapter 9 or Romans chapter 1 and 2 and 3. They didn't
have that. They had the Old Testament and
that's all they had. He said here, ought not Christ to have
suffered? these things, and to enter into
his glory, and beginning where? Verse 27, and beginning at Moses
and all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures
the things concerning himself." Moses and the prophets. He expounded
in all of the Old Testament scriptures the things concerning himself.
And then if you'll drop down to verse 40 of that chapter,
we find him dealing with this again with his disciples. And
he says, while they yet believed not for joy and wondered, he
said unto them, have ye here any meat? And they gave him a
piece of broiled fish and a honeycomb, and he took it and did eat before
them. And when he said unto them, These are the words which I spake
unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must be
fulfilled where which were written in the law of Moses and in the
prophets and in the Psalms concerning me. Then opened he their understanding
and that they might understand the scriptures. The Lord Jesus
revealed himself in the scriptures and they understood that. One of their passages found over
in the book of Acts. It was interesting to me to find
out that Moses is name by name in 79 different times in the
New Testament. Just in the New Testament. And he found many
times here in the book of Acts. And in the book of Acts chapter
28. The book of Acts chapter 28. We find this verse of scripture
that shares with us again the importance of Christ in the scriptures,
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. In the book
of Acts chapter 28, and we read there in verse 23, Acts chapter
28 and verse 23, and when they had appointed him a day, Paul,
there came many of to him into his lodging, to whom he expounded
and testified the kingdom of God. What does that mean? He
expounded the gospel. He declared Christ in the gospel,
that Christ is persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of
the law of Moses and out of the prophets from morning till evening. What a discussion we have this
preacher of righteousness had, and he didn't ever leave the
subject of Christ throughout the entire Old Testament. What
a pattern for the rest of us. We have a message, the message
is Christ and you'll find him in every book of the Bible. All
right. Moses did not write down oral
history. I've had people recently tell
me that they just cannot understand how Moses was ever to put that
together because when people start telling stuff, it always
gets changed over time. Moses did not have to depend
on oral history. Moses didn't have to depend on
what Adam told Seth and what Seth told his son and sound down
to Abraham and on and on it went down to Moses. That's not how
it worked. It's not what God did. There
would be so much error placed in the scriptures says that's
what's happened. We find out we cannot hardly believe what
people believe about the scriptures without that. And here we find
that the Holy Spirit gave the words to Moses that we have recorded
in the book of Matthew, the original words. Now, we have a translation
of that, and it's an original form, there was not a bit of
error in it. It was God's Word. It was inspired. And we find in the book of 2
Peter 1 and verse 21, holy men of God spake as they were moved
by the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost had it all down.
We don't have to worry about people relating from one generation
to the next generation about the truth of the Gospel. The
Holy Spirit gave it to Moses. He didn't have to be there with
Adam to know what happened there in the garden. The Holy Spirit
gave it to him. He didn't have to know what happened
at Noah's Ark. The Holy Spirit gave it to him.
And down, down through the scriptures, we find every incident in the
Old Testament, Genesis through Deuteronomy. The Holy Spirit
gave them. Holy men of God spake as they
were moved by the Holy Ghost. So we have The Word of God. Take it to the bank. It was not
dependent upon some oral history. It's dependent upon Almighty
God delivering His message to every generation down through
time. Now, we'd like to look at a passage
of Scripture in the book of Genesis. And if you'd turn with me, and
there is so much here. You know, I had to do some sorting
and Lord show me where to go well we're gonna be in our message
on Genesis in Genesis chapter 22 now you know immediately probably
that in Genesis chapter 22 Abraham is asked to do something that
I am thankful to God that I didn't have to do I was not put in this
situation but Abraham was Abraham was put in this situation. Abraham
was told to take his son, his only son, whom he loved. Now,
it doesn't take us very long to check out in the book of Genesis
that Abraham had another son. He had a son by Hagar. He had
a son through the flesh. It's what we call, what Paul
mentions in the book of Galatians. He was born in the natural way,
the normal way. And then Abraham had a son by
a wife that was 90 years old, and the scriptures plainly tell
us that she was past childbearing age. It was not a possibility. Well, we find out that every
time someone is saved by the grace of God, it's a miracle
of the new birth, and only God can perform that. He's the only
one. I've been dealing with a young
man who's a preacher in a church, and I've asked him a number of
times, you tell me how much you had to do with your physical
birth. You know, he can only answer, nothing. Point well taken. Do you think that God is going
to allow us to have more to do with our spiritual birth, which
is much more valuable than our physical birth, than you had
to do with your physical birth? No. It is an act of God, it's
an act of grace, it is something the Holy Spirit does on every
one of those that God had written down in the Lamb's Book of Life
before the foundation of the world, and I can tell you this.
I told a person the other day, they asked me, when's the world
coming to an end? I said, I can tell you exactly
when it's coming to an end, that's when the last sheep is saved,
and that's going to be it. We're not having to worry about
anything else when God gets that last sheep saved, This is going
to be wrapped up. Well, let's look here in the
book of Genesis chapter 22. Genesis chapter 22, we have this
so interesting situation with Abraham. Now, when we get to
looking at this, we're going to find out that this mountain
that Abraham is told to take his son to is going to be a bloody
mountain. Blood is going to be shed. And
you know what? Blood was shed on that mountain.
Now it was an innocent's blood, it was a substitute's blood.
But we find out that Abraham took his son, Genesis chapter
22, and we begin reading with verse 1. God brings this up to
him. Genesis chapter 22 and verse
1. And it came to pass after these
things that God did tempt. Now, take your pencil and run
right through that and say, That's not the correct translation.
It's test. God tempteth no man. But he tests. And he tested Abraham. And he gave him a tremendous
test. He says here, and he said unto
Abraham, and he said, behold, here I am. And he said, take
now thy son, thine only son Isaac. whom thou lovest. Oh, I have some idea what that
means. Thine only son, Isaac, whom thou lovest, and
get thee into the land of Moriah, and offer him there for a burnt
offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And
Abraham rose up early in the morning and saddled his ass and
took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son and claimed
the wood for the burnt offering and rose up and went into the
place which God had told him. Then on the third day, Abraham
lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said
unto his young men, abide ye here with the ass and I and the
lad will go yonder and worship and come again to you. Now, keep
your finger right there and turn with me over to the book of Hebrews,
if you would. Hebrews chapter 11, Hebrews chapter
11. Now keep your finger right there
because Abraham said something at that point that gives us an
inside track of his spiritual understanding. He said to a young
man, you stay here, you keep the animal and me and my son
will return. What? You've just been asked
to offer him as a burnt offering. God Almighty has commanded you
to take your son, your only son whom you love, up on Mount Moriah
and there offer him up as a burnt sacrifice. Before he could be
a burnt sacrifice, you're gonna have to slay him. And when you
slay him, blood is going to be shed. And then you're going to
quarter him up and put him on an altar and you are going to
consume him with fire. That's what God ordered him to
do. And Abraham shares with us before the event ever took place,
he said, you stay right here, we'll be back down here. Well,
turn with me to the book of Hebrews chapter 11. In Hebrews chapter
11, oh, this wonderful book that shares with us so much about
the Old Testament and shares with us Christ in the Old Testament
from beginning to end, how glorious it is. And here in the 11th chapter
of the book of Hebrews, we find that the people that God purposed
to share with us about their faith, I enjoyed reading a little
article about Charles Spurgeon last night and today, that faith
is like a water via a conduit. Like they used to have in Rome,
bringing water clear out from the mountains down into Rome,
and that's like our faith. What's important is the grace
that flows through that. Now, don't ever worship your
faith. Don't ever substitute Christ
for your faith because faith is a gift of God. Faith is given
to us. Faith was given to Abraham for
him to be able to say that to two young men as he headed up
on that mountain that we're going to go up there, we're going to
go through this process, and we're going to both come down.
There's something that Abraham understood about God because
it tells us here in the book of Hebrews chapter 11 and there
in verse 17, by faith Abraham, when he was tried, not tempted,
but tried, tested, offered up Isaac, and he that had received
the promise offered up his only begotten son, of whom it is said
that in Isaac thy seed shall be called. Uh-oh. Oh, my. It said in this passage of scripture,
I thought. My book stopped. There we go. Well, Brother Wayne, I may have
to have a paper copy. Thank you. Hebrews chapter 11,
thank you. That's worked up till today.
Hebrews chapter 11, verse 17. It says, and then in verse 18,
of whom it is said that in Isaac shall thy seed be called, accounting
that God was able to raise him up even from the dead, From whence
also he received him in a figure. What Abraham knew about this
whole thing, God had revealed to him that when I request it,
I will take care of it and you are going to come off of that
mountain with your son. And he did that in a like figure. because his son was spared, his
son was not killed, his son was not quartered, the blood was
not shed, but we find in the, going back there to the book
of Genesis again, let's go back to the book of Genesis chapter
22, where we find some very important things are taking place here
in Genesis chapter 22 with regard to this incident. In Genesis
chapter 22 again, let's look there at verse, Isaac said unto his father, verse
7, And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father.
And he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire
and the wood. It almost appears that Isaac
had observed sacrifices in the past. It looks as if Abraham
had offered sacrifices in the past. All right. And it says
here, here's the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for
a burnt offering? It looks like Isaac has seen
sacrifices in the past. He knows what is necessary. He
knows that there's fire. He knows there's wood. And he
knows there's a substitute, that there is a lamb. All right. And
Abraham said, my son, God will provide himself a lamb for a
burnt offering. So they went both of them together
and they came to the place which God had told him of. and Abraham
built an altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac
his son. Do you see any resistance? There is so many similarities
between Isaac and our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. the glorious
son of God, when it came time for him to be the sacrifice for
his people, was not fighting but submitted. Do you know what
he said? You know what he said? No man
takes my life from me, but I lay it down on myself. He knew full
well what was required. He knew about the wood, he knew
about the fire, and he knew about the lamb for a sacrifice. He
is the lamb, and he did go to the cross, and he gave himself
a ransom for many, and blood was spilt, and blood was poured
out, and you know what? We are atoned for by the blood
of that Lamb, the Lord Jesus." Well, here we find out in this
passage of scripture that the Lord had given an understanding
in this book, in this passage, about a sacrifice, a substitute,
and a son. And we find as we follow this
out that Abraham knew all the things that were going on and
he understood that his son would come down even though he would
be maybe consumed by fire. It tells us here that as the
Lord Jesus spoke to Abraham, the Lord, the Holy Spirit moved
up in him, just like we find the Holy Spirit doing for you
and I, that Abraham is able to see in this experience and in
this passage what Jesus Christ spoke about in the New Testament
in the book of John chapter 8. Abraham saw my day and was glad. Abraham saw Christ. Abraham saw
the benefits of Christ, and Abraham felt the grace of God. As we
look here, we find that there was some divine intervention
that took place in this passage of scripture. We find there was
a divine provision that took place here. A lamb, a ram caught
by his horns in a bush. The point I want to look at for
just a moment here is found in this passage of scripture when
Abraham shares with us in verse 8. Abraham said, my son, God
will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering. Now we have
some understanding about that. I, when I was studying this years
ago, there at the Dallas, I found out, oh, he's going to provide,
but he's going to provide himself. That's a wonderful thought for
all of us to take. But you know, this passage of
scripture shares with us a Hebrew idiom. This Hebrew idiom is something
we use idioms all the time. How many know about the Farside
cartoon? You ever see the Farside cartoon? We used to get it in
the paper all the time. And you could not understand
it unless you were from the United States. That guy used all kinds
of idioms that only we understood. I had foreign students read it
and said, what are you talking about? I don't understand it.
Well, of course. They are not used to the idioms.
Well, this particular idiom shares with us In this passage of scripture,
where it says God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering,
he is sharing with us, I will see to it. I will see to it. And we find
this is used a couple of times here in the scriptures. God will
provide himself a lamb, but I will see to it. I used to hear my
dad say that, I'll see to that. My mother would say, I'll see
to that. I'll take care of that. And you know, I didn't have to
worry about it. They would take care of it. And that's exactly
what God is saying here to Abraham and to us. I will take care of
it. I will take care of all the provisions.
I will take care of all that's necessary. I'll take care of
a lamb. I'll provide the lamb. I will
provide it, it'll be hooked in a bush. You won't even hear that
lamb bleat. You'll not hear that ram bleat.
Can you imagine a ram caught by his horns in a thicket and
not even cry out until Abraham is stopped from slaying his son
by almighty God and then they notice what's going on. God moved
on that ram to say something and they recognized it. And guess
what? That ram became the substitute for the sun. And both of them
came down off of that mountain, just like it was promised. We
find in this, what a blessed thing. Abraham tells us in verse
14, the name of this place. He's going to give us the name
of this place. And it's one of the Jehovah names. Abraham called
the name of that place, Jehovah Jireh. As it is said to this
day, in the mount the Lord it shall be seen. And we often translate
that word, that term, Jehovah Jireh, God will provide. Well,
that word provide is I will see to it. I will take care of it. I will be in charge of it. I'll
be in charge of it from beginning to end. Jehovah-Jireh. The name Jehovah-Jireh, we find
that Abraham was given some information when he named that place Jehovah-Jireh. He was given some information
from Almighty God by the Holy Spirit that everything that is
required, God will provide. There will not be one thing left
out. He will not leave one iota left
to mankind to take care of. There will not be one thought
about the need to provide faith. will or anything else, it will
be provided. I will take care of it. In Genesis
chapter 16, we find Abraham's other wife that bore him the
other son that we know by the name of Ishmael has this to say,
and this word is also used here. I will see to it in Genesis chapter
16 and verse 11. Turn with me to Genesis chapter
16 and verse 11. You know, Sarah said, I don't
like this woman around here. Abraham, you take care of her.
Get her out of here. Well, we find over in the book of Galatians
there was a reason for that. The son of the flesh is not going
to inherit with the son of faith. They are so contrary. They're
so different. One is man, one is God. So different here. So here in
the book of Genesis chapter 16 and verse 11, it says, And the
angel of the Lord said unto her, Unto Hagar, Behold, thou art
with child, and thou shalt bear a son, and thou shalt call his
name Ishmael, because the Lord hath heard thy affliction, and
he will be a wild man, his hand will be against every man, and
every man's hand against him, and he shall dwell in the presence
of all his brethren. And she called the name of the
place, the name of the Lord, and spake unto her, thou, God,
seest me. For she said, I have also here
looked after him that seeth me. Thou, God, seeth me. You will take care of it. That's
what she said. How much understanding she had
about this, but we see that this term shares with us that Jehovah
Jireh has the meaning that not just providing, but he will see
to all of it. Not only will God see to the
sacrifice, but he will also see to protecting Isaac as the promised
seed. Where did Christ come from? Abraham,
Isaac, Jacob. He protected that boy. He oversaw
everything about him. This is the line. He must have
life. He will. And Abraham said, if
I have to take his life, he's going to be coming back with
me. There is going to be a resurrection. There's going to be a miracle.
You know what? There was a miracle on that mountain anyway. A substitute
was found to take his place. Jehovah will see to it. The covenant
of grace truly is a statement that Jehovah will see to it.
He will see to making sure that all his people will be saved.
He wrote their names in the Lamb's Book of Life. You know, I hate
to say this, but God was reminded every day of eternity of who
exactly he was going to be a substitute for. He wrote their names in
eternity past in the Lamb's Book of Life. You know, I have to
carry a notebook now so I can know what I'm supposed to do
today. I'm not saying that that's how God did his business, but
aren't you glad that he wrote our names in the Lamb's Book
of Life before the foundation of the world? He's seeing to
it. He's seeing to our redemption. He's seeing to our everything.
He will see to it having a lamb slain from the foundation of
the world. You know, before Adam ever sinned, God said, I have
a lamb. And just as that ram was caught
by his horns in a thicket, our Savior was caught by the everlasting
covenant of grace to be determined as the lamb that would take away
our sin. I'll see to it. God said, I'll
see to it when Adam sinned. He will cover their nakedness. We, by nature, want to cover
our own nakedness. I've met people, and I probably
was this way for a long time. Maybe I'm still that way. I've
never done anything wrong. You know, when God came to Adam,
I haven't done anything wrong. But he feared God like he never
feared anything in his life. He feared God because he had
gone against the very word of God. God had said, the day you
eat, you shall surely die, and the day he ate, he surely died.
He died spiritually, and you know what? The will was not exempt
from the fall. The will is part of the fall. The will, the heart is deceitful
above all things. The will is deceitful above all
things, and we'll never reach out to God. So we have to look
at God and said, I'll see to it. Jehovah Jireh. I'll see to it. I'll take care
of it. He will see to it. The promised seed will provide
the promised seed. Isaac, Jacob, Judah, and down
through all ages until exactly the right time, we find that
Daniel spoke of the time that the Messiah would come, and to
most people that knew something about the Bible at that time
could figure it right out. And here we are, the day the
Lord Jesus is born, there is a great host of angels singing
glory to God in the highest, peace on earth and goodwill toward
men. And that is just another statement,
I'll see to it. Don't put free will in that,
just believe God will see to it. He took care of the issue.
He will see to it in his word where and when and how and why
the only begotten son would enter into the glories of this earth
and spend the rest of his 33 and a half years in a graveyard.
I'll see to it. redemption as Emmanuel. I will see to it. He would see
to it that the cross would be provided. You know, I had a friend
that sang a song one time. He grew the cross. He grew the tree he knew would
be the cross of Calvary. You know, that's really interesting. Somewhere out there, about the
time the Lord Jesus was born probably, there was a tree that
dropped a seed and it grew. And those Romans went and harvested
it and they brought it down to Jerusalem and they placed that
tree between two other trees, a Jacob and an Esau. And God said, I will see to it. Both of them cried out, if you
be the Christ, come off that cross and save us. And by the
grace of God, one of them said, we're getting our just desserts. God said, I'll see to it. What
did that one man say? Remember me when I enter that
kingdom? You know what the Lord could
have said? I'll see to it. I'll see to it. He would see to it
that the cross would be provided. There would be a Jacob and there
would be an Esau. He would see to it, he would
die for the sins of his church, be buried in a new tomb. All
of those things, just how it all happened, just exactly right. Because he had the oversight. He was seeing to it, Jehovah
will provide. He will see to it. He was put
in a new tomb. How strange is that? And as demonstrating
he will not. He will not allow anyone to participate
in his redemptive work. All of his disciples fled him. We always look at Peter. Peter
denied him three times. Guess what? Everybody else did
too. Why? The scriptures declared
he must do this alone. He will see to it. He will see
to it. And in time, he will see to it. the salvation of every one of
his lost sheep. I am amazed how he saw to it
to get the word to me. How he got the word to you. He saw to it just exactly at
the right time. He brought somebody that knew
something about the gospel to declare it to us. Now we may
have moved to go hear it or he sent somebody to us, but he's
gonna see to it. And he's in that business right
this very minute. He will see to it that the word
will reach every one of his lost sheep, and they will hear. And
by the Holy Spirit, he will create in them life through the new
birth, and they will cry out just as we did, Lord, save me
lest I perish. He will see to it. He will see
to it that they hear the gospel of God's free and sovereign grace. I heard a lady in church the
other day, just this last Sunday, says, do people have to hear
the gospel before they can be saved? And I says, they have
to hear the truth of the gospel. You're not going to be saved
by garbage. We're going to be saved by the
grace of God, sovereign grace, without our help. because he
will see to it. He will see to it your life every
day of your life until he will see to it just as that man Lazarus
died and was carried by angels to Abraham's bosom. I don't know
if that's how God's going to do us. But the picture is wonderful. I will see to it. I will lose
none. I will take all. To be absent
from the body is to be present with the Lord. I will see to
it. So as Abraham looked at that
mountain, he says, you know, I just can't help but leave this
mountain with a name. I won't name this mountain. It's
Mount Moriah. Guess what? That's where the
temple was put. Guess what? Just outside of that
place, our savior ransomed us by his shed blood and his death.
He said, I'll see to it. He said, it's been quite an experience
up here. I'm going to leave a name here. Every time we look up there,
we're going to be able to say, he will see to it. right away.
