Good day. Good to be here. Excuse me, I got a little cold,
so hopefully I'll be able to pronounce everything properly.
Today we'll be in Isaiah chapter 7, verse 14, where Brother Tim
read. Isaiah chapter 7, verse 14, and
the name of the message is God with us. God with us. Emmanuel. Emmanuel. Isaiah 7.14 will be the text
that we'll look at first. It says, Therefore the Lord himself
shall give you a sign. Behold, a virgin shall conceive
and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel. And here in the Old Testament,
right here, is the coming of the Messiah predicted right before
our eyes. He shall be born of a virgin,
And He shall be God with us. And He must be the seed of the
woman. Turn, if you would, to Psalm
51, verse 5. We know that He must be the seed
of the woman which was predicted in Genesis, chapter 3. Born of
a virgin, absolutely sinless. And we know that we who are born
after the flesh from the seed of our fathers inherit our sin
nature from our fathers, and thus we're born into the world
dead in trespasses and sins. But this was not so with Christ.
He was the seed of the woman. Look at Psalm 51.5. It says,
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive
me. That's us. We are born sinners. Born sinners. Now Christ was
the seed of the woman. He was born sinless. Absolutely
sinless. Born of a virgin. God. He's the
God-man. He's fully God. And yet, he's
fully man. And he came here to earth on
a mission, didn't he? He knew exactly why he was here.
He knew. He was God the Son, the eternal
Son incarnate in the flesh. He knew why he was here. He must
die a substitutionary death in the room and place of his people.
He must. He must redeem us. He must. So his birth is so important,
but so is his death, as Brother Tim said, and his resurrection.
They all tie in. You can't have one without the
other. He must die in the place of his people before God's unbending
justice. God's justice is unbending, beloved. It's unbending. And his law is
a holy law. I don't think sometimes we understand
who God is. He's so holy. He's so holy, beloved. He's so far above us. We can't
even fathom who he is until he reveals himself to us in scripture.
And even then, we're just scratching the surface. He is so far above
us. So his unbending justice and
his holy law must be satisfied. I heard two guys this week mentioning
what their pastor preached on last week. And he preached, supposedly,
that Jesus Christ came, and this is the garbage that's being proclaimed.
This is ridiculous. He preached that Jesus Christ
came down to this earth to live a life for an example for us,
that we could live the same life as him. I said, what? What? I'm a sinner. He's sinless. He came here to
live a perfect life for me. And if you're a believer, for
you to do that, which we could never do. But you see what's
being propagated out there? And when you sit and you hear
people say that stuff, right away we recoil, don't we? Right
away. And we say, what? That's not true. That's not the
God of the Bible. But you know what that tells
you? That tells you they don't believe they're sinners. Because God's people know that
Christ came to this world to die in the room and place of
his people. Because I'm a sinner. And I need
Christ desperately. Desperately. Oh, beloved, he
came, he didn't come to live as an example. He faced sin and
temptation. But yet without sin. And he did
it in my place. Because I can't do that. Is it
so for you? Isn't that wonderful? This is
what our God did. God in the flesh. God incarnate
in the flesh came to do that which we could never do. He's
redeemed us. What a Savior. What a Redeemer. The one true God. Jesus Christ
our Lord, Emmanuel. God incarnate in the flesh. Turn,
if you would, to Matthew 1, verse 20. Do you know that His conception
His conception in the womb is a divine conception. It's a divine
conception, Scripture declares. He was conceived of the Holy
Spirit. Look at this in Matthew 1, verse
20. And we always look at verse 21,
and we will later on, but look at this, look at the miraculous
miracle performed by the Holy Ghost in verse 20. But while
he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared
unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear
not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived
in her is of the Holy Ghost." His conception is a divine miracle,
beloved. A virgin is conceived. Sometimes we just read the text,
don't we? Brother Henry says sometimes we just read the text
and it becomes so familiar to us that we don't see the absolute
miracle that's being put before us. His conception is a miracle. Oh, and here is the one spoken
of by the prophets, God with us, the Lord Jesus Christ, conceived
by the Holy Spirit of God, and born of a woman, a virgin, just
as was predicted in Isaiah 7.14, which we looked at. And this
was a fulfillment of the promise, as I said, in Genesis 3.15, which
says, and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, in between
thy seed and her seed. It shall bruise thy head, and
thou shalt bruise his heel. Turn, if you would, over to 1
Timothy 2. Mary, who bore Christ, would
be saved by the one she gave birth to. Mary, who bore Christ,
would be saved by the one she gives birth to, which proves
that Mary was a sinner just like us. That destroys what the Catholics
believe. She needed a Savior just like
you and I. And she was highly favored amongst
women. But yet, she bears her Savior,
the Lord Jesus Christ. Look at this in 1 Timothy 2,
verses 13-15. For Adam was first formed, then
Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but
the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Look at
this. Notwithstanding, she shall be saved in childbearing. She's
saved because Christ comes out from her. John Gill says, she's
saved in childbearing because it's her Savior who's born of
her. If they continue in faith and
charity with holiness and sobriety, and the reference here is to
the salvation of all believers too, through the divine child,
to be born of the woman. And that child is none other
than the Lord Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, God with us. We cannot be saved
without trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone. And
salvation is in no other than Emmanuel, Jesus Christ, God with
us. Two quick points I'd like to
bring before we look at the main part of the messages. Our Lord
and Savior was born King. He was born King. Turn, if you
would, to Matthew chapter 2. Matthew chapter 2. And then for
the other point, we'll go over to Matthew chapter 1. He's born
King. Look at this. Matthew chapter 2 verses 1 and
2. He's born King. We don't make
Him King. We don't make Him Lord. He's
born Lord. He's born King. Matthew chapter 2 verses 1 and
2. Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem
of Judah, in the days of Herod the King, Behold, there came
wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, where is he that is born
King of the Jews? Now, that's spiritual Jews. He's our King, isn't he? He's
our King. For we have seen his star in
the east and are come to worship him. Here, the great peacemaker,
the great peacemaker, the King of kings and the Lord of lords,
who was King in eternity, is born King. In a manger. And now, he's ascended on high,
isn't he? Right now. And he's still king,
isn't he? He's never abdicated his throne. Never. Think of that. He's born King of the Jews. Oh,
and He reigns and rules right now as King. And the second point
is the Lord Jesus Christ is born a Savior. Turn, if you would,
over to Matthew chapter 1. He came to this earth to redeem
His people from their sins, to purchase them with His own precious
blood, to satisfy God's broken law by us. We broke His law. and His holy justice, and Christ
came to redeem His people from their sins. Look at this, Matthew
1, verses 18 to 23. Now the birth of Jesus Christ
was unwise, when, as His mother Mary was a spouse to Joseph,
before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy
Ghost. Then Joseph, her husband, being
a just man and not willing to make her a public example, was
minded to put her away. But while he thought on these
things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in
a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take
unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her
is of the Holy Ghost, and she shall bring forth a son, And thou shalt call his name
Jesus, for he shall, I love that, he shall, it's not maybe, he
shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done that
it might be fulfilled, which was spoken of the Lord by the
prophet, saying, behold, there's our text, the virgin shall be
with child, and she shall bring forth a son, and they shall call
his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God with us. God with us. He shall save his
people from their sins. He's born a king. And, beloved,
He's born a Savior. He's born a King, and He's born
a Savior. So, we'll look at seven points
quickly about the birth of Christ. The first point is this. The
Lord Jesus Christ's birth was a predicted birth. It was a predicted
birth. Turn, if you would, to Isaiah,
chapter 9, and Micah, chapter 5. Isaiah chapter 9 in Micah
chapter 5. The Lord's birth was a predicted
birth. Isaiah chapter 9 verse 6. For unto us a child is born.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the
government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall
be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting
Father, the Prince of Peace. And then over in Micah chapter
5, Micah chapter 5 verse 2, But thou, Bethlehem, Ephrathiah,
though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of
thee shall come forth unto me That is to be ruler in Israel,
whose going forth, look at this, isn't this wonderful, whose going
forth have been from old, from everlasting. He is none other
but God incarnate in the flesh Micah 5 2 whose going force have
been from old from of old from everlasting and then in the New
Testament and I'll read this in Matthew 2 5 it says and they
said unto him in Bethlehem of Judah for it is written by the
prophets and now Bethlehem in the land of Judah art thou not
the least among the princes of Judah For out of thee shall come
a governor that shall rule my people Israel." So the Lord Jesus
Christ's birth was a predicted birth, beloved. It was a predicted
birth. The Lord Jesus Christ's birth
was a miraculous birth. Turn, if you would, to Matthew
chapter 1, verses 18 and 19. It was a miraculous birth. It was a creative act of God,
beloved. which we looked at earlier, the
Holy Spirit. He was conceived of the Holy
Spirit of God. It was a creative act of God,
which we looked at earlier, as though it was not of man, but
of God. Look at Matthew 1, verses 18
and 19. Now the birth of Jesus Christ
was on the wise, when as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph,
before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy
Ghost. So it's a miraculous birth. It's
a miraculous birth. Then Joseph, her husband, being
a just man and not willing to make her a public example, was
minded to put her away privately. Turn, if you would, over to Luke
chapter one. Luke chapter one. And notice how the Holy Spirit
had this penned. And notice the verbiage that's
used in this text here. Luke 1, verse 35. And the angel answered and said
unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power
of the highest shall overshadow thee. Therefore also that holy
thing, there's Christ, there's Immanuel, the holy thing which
shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. Oh, it's
a miraculous birth. The birth of our Savior is a
miraculous birth, beloved. The next point is the Lord Jesus
Christ's birth was of a virgin. And our text says, therefore
the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold, a virgin shall
conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Immanuel. In the
New Testament, look at verse 16 of Matthew chapter 1, verse
16. And we know that Mary was a virgin.
And in Luke chapter 2, verse 7. This fact is proclaimed. This fact is proclaimed. And
Jacob begot Joseph, look at this, Matthew 1, 16. And Jacob begot
Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is
called Christ. Note, of Mary, of whom was born
Jesus, who is called the Christ. He's a virgin born, beloved.
Luke 2, verse 7 says this, And she brought forth her firstborn
son, and wrapped him in swallowing clothes, and laid him in a manger,
because there was no room for them in the inn." Note this in
that little text there, because there was no room for them in
the inn. The world had no room for God. No room for Him. And it still
doesn't unless He makes us willing. Oh my. So His birth was a virgin
birth. Colossians. Think of this too.
Turn if you would over to Colossians chapter 1. With this in light
of the virgin birth of Christ. Think of this. God Himself. The
Everlasting One. The Son of God. The Eternal Son,
right? He's the Eternal Son. He becomes
flesh. He's fully God and fully man.
He's the one mediator between God and man. And beloved, He
has all power. He has all power and all majesty.
And He condescended to die and to live in the place of His people. He did this. Look at this. Colossians
1 15-18, Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn
of every creature? For by Him, and this is the one,
this is the one who condescended and became a man. For by Him
were all things created. Everything. There's nothing left
out. That are in heaven and that are
in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions
or principalities or powers, all things were created by Him
and for Him. And He is before all things.
Everything bows down to Him. Everything. Everything's at His
command. Everything. And he called and sends and becomes
a man to die in the place of his people. Oh my. And he is before all things and
by him all things consist. Mary gives birth to her maker. Oh my. Oh my. And he is the head of the body,
the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
that in all things he might have the preeminence. And she gives
birth to Christ, Jesus, God incarnate in the flesh, right? The eternal
son becomes a man. Becomes a man. The focus, as
Brother Tim said, is not upon the day. It's upon who he is. Emmanuel. God incarnate in the
flesh. God incarnate in the flesh. Hebrews
1.5 says this, For unto which of the angels said he at any
time? Now, did he ever say this to any of the angels? Thou art
my Son, this day have I begotten thee? No. But he did to Christ. And again, I will be to him a
father, and he shall be to me a son. Hebrews 1.5. Oh, the eternal
Son becomes flesh and dwells among us, beloved. Turn, if you
would, to Luke chapter 1 again, verse 35. We'll look at that
again. And we'll look at this point.
The Lord Jesus Christ's birth was a holy birth. It was a holy
birth. And put your finger also in John
9, verse 34. Now we are born sinners, aren't
we? Every one of us. We come into this world dead
in trespasses and sins. We looked at that in the psalm
earlier. But our Lord Jesus Christ, He
was born holy, beloved. He was born holy. He was born
sinless. Absolutely sinless. Spotless. He knew no sin. He knew no sin in thought. He
knew no sin in deed. He knew no sin in practice. He
knew what sin was, because He's God, right? He knows what sin
is. But He did not commit any sin
at all. He's absolutely perfect, which
is the opposite of what we are. All I am is sin. My goodness. So the perfect, spotless Lamb
of God, the Holy One, look at it again, Luke 1.35, And the
angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come
unto thee, and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee.
Therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall
be called the Son of God. He's perfect, beloved. The Eternal
Son has veiled Himself in flesh. The Eternal Son has veiled Himself
in flesh. He is the Holy One. The Holy
One, Emmanuel, God with us. And the religious Pharisees did
not know who He was, right? They didn't know who He was. They thought He was just a man
like everyone else. Look at John chapter 9 verse
34. You know the demons knew who He was, right? They called
Him the Holy One of God. They knew who He was. Look at what they are Pharisees.
Look at these religious Pharisees. Oh, they have no clue. Look at
John 9, verse 34. They answered and said unto him,
Thou wast born altogether in sins, and doest thou teach us? And they cast him out. They had
no idea that he is the Holy One of Israel. They thought he was
just like them. They thought he was just like
Him, but no. No. Our Lord's birth was a holy
birth, and He's the Holy One of Israel. He's the King of kings
and the Lord of lords. And do you know the devil could
find nothing in Him? Look it over in John 14. Now
the devil can find lots in us, can't he? Lots to accuse us of. Right? But the devil could find
nothing in Christ to accuse Him of. Because he's perfect. He's
God incarnate in the flesh. He's the perfect, sinless, holy
one. Look at John chapter 14. Look
at this. Hereafter I will not talk much
with you, for the prince of the world cometh and what? And hath
nothing in me. Why? Because he's perfect. He's
perfect. Beloved, think of that too. Think
of that as we read that text. He's my perfect substitute. And if you believe he's your
perfect substitute, Satan can find nothing in him, nothing. Oh my, do you see why God accepts
us upon the basis of Christ and what he's done? Because like
I said, the devil can come and find lots in me and you too,
all of us, but not in Christ. And the believer,
praise God, is clothed in the righteousness of Christ. And
the demons knew who he was. Look at Luke chapter 4, verse
34. Turn over here. So the Pharisees had no clue
who he was, right? Satan comes and has nothing in
him. But the demons knew, and they trembled. They trembled
at his feet. They knew who he was. He's their
master. Look at this. Luke 4, verse 34. Saying, let us alone. What have
we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? Art thou come...
Look at this. These are demons. Art thou come
to destroy us? So what's that tell us right
there? Glory is all power. This is God incarnate in the
flesh. Art thou come to destroy us?
I know Thee who Thou art, the Holy One of God. Oh, that makes
my heart sing to know that my Savior is the Holy One of God. Oh, that's my Redeemer. He has
all power. Therefore, He has all power to
save me. And He has. And He saves all
who come to Him. What a Redeemer. What a Savior. And this is why He came to earth.
to redeem His people from their sins. And we know that we're
shaping an iniquity and estranged from our mother's womb. Scripture
declares the wicked are estranged from the womb and they go astray
as soon as they be born, speaking lies. But the Lord Jesus Christ
is the perfect, sinless Lamb of God. And John the Baptist
said, Behold the Lamb of God. Behold Him. Behold the Lamb of
God which taketh away the sin of the world. Oh my goodness,
our Lord is born absolutely perfect and holy, beloved. The next point
is the Lord Jesus Christ's birth was a lowly birth, a lowly birth. Our Lord was born King, beloved.
But he did not come to this earth with pomp and circumstance, did
he? He didn't. You couldn't tell
him apart from other men. We know that from Isaiah. Think of this. Think of this.
The one who all of heaven adores. The one who all of heaven adores.
We read about the angels and the seraphims and the saints
of God and glory and they're bowing down before him. All of
heaven adores him. And he's born in a manger. Because there's no room for him
in the end. Oh my. The one who holds all
we see and all we don't see. The one who holds all things
together. is born in a manger. And it's
all according to the providence of God. Galatians says this,
but when the fullness of time was come, God sent forth His
Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them. There it is. There's the reason
He came. To redeem them that were under
the law. Remember, the devil comes and
has nothing in him, but He came to redeem them that were under
the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. What a
Redeemer, beloved. What a Savior. Turn, if you would,
to Luke 2, verse 7. And we see our Savior's lowly
birth. We see our Savior's lowly birth. Remember, this is the One who
all of heaven adores. Oh my. Look at this. Luke 2, verse 7, And she brought
forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in
the inn. And then look at verses 12 to
16. And this shall be a sign unto you. Ye shall find the babe
wrapped in swallowing clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly
there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly hosts, praising God
and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,
goodwill toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels
were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said, one
to another, let us now go even unto Bethlehem and see this thing
which has come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto
us. And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph and
the babe lying in a manger. The King of kings and the Lord
of lords is born in a manger. Oh, what a lowly birth was our
Lord Jesus Christ's birth. And our Lord Jesus Christ, though,
His birth was a royal birth, beloved. The great Peacemaker,
the great Peacemaker has come. The one who is King in eternity.
The one who is King at His birth. And the one who is King right
now in Heaven has come to this earth and His birth is a royal
birth. Stay, if you would, in Matthew
Chapter 2. Matthew Chapter 2. And I'm going to read that little
portion again that we read there in Luke Chapter 2. So put your
finger in Matthew Chapter 2 and Luke Chapter 2. Look at Matthew 2, verses 2,
saying, Where is he that is born king of the Jews? His birth is
a royal birth, for we have seen his star in the east and are
come to worship him. Where shall this king be born?
Look at verses 5 and 6. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem
of Judah, for thus it is written by the prophet, But thou, Bethlehem,
in the land of Judah, art not the least among the princes of
Judah, for out of thee shall come a governor that shall rule
my people Israel. And look at this, the angel of
the Lord proclaimed the arrival of the king, the great peacemaker. We know who the angel of the
Lord is, don't we? Oh, it's our king. Norm told
me this one one time. He says, I haven't figured out
how the angel of the Lord proclaimed the birth of Christ, and yet
he's in a manger. There's one for us to chew on
for a long time, eh? Oh my. Luke 8, 2 verses 8-14. And there were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock
by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord
came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about
them, and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them,
Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day
in the city of David a Savior. See, He's born a Savior, isn't
He? He's born a King, and He's born a Savior, which is Christ
the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto
you. You shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in
a manger. And suddenly there was with the
angel a multitude of the heavenly hosts praising God and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will
toward men. Now people take that last verse
there, right? Without even knowing what it
means. How do we get peace with God?
Through the Lord Jesus Christ. Through the great Peacemaker.
Only through Him. Goodwill towards men. Goodwill
towards sinners. Undeserving sinners. Oh, what
a King we have, beloved. What a Savior we have. He come
to this earth to redeem us, to do that which we could never
do for ourselves. The last point we'll look at
is the Lord Jesus Christ's birth was a beneficial birth. It was
a beneficial birth. Turn, if you would, to Matthew
chapter 1 and also 1 Timothy chapter 1. It's a beneficial
birth. Look at Matthew 1, verse 21. The birth of Christ was a beneficial
birth, as the Scriptures proclaim in Matthew 1.21, and she shall
bring forth a son. and thou shalt call his name
Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins. Oh my. For God's elect, his birth is
a beneficial birth, isn't it? Because his birth will lead to
his death. And his death is where we're
redeemed. And he's raised again from the
grave for our justification. And now he's seated at the right
hand of the Father. So as I said, we don't just celebrate
his birth. We celebrate his resurrection,
his brother Tim brought out, and his death. Oh my. Look at 1 Timothy 1, verses 12-17. We know in Matthew 1.21, He shall
save His people from their sins. And look at 1 Timothy 1, verses
12-17. And I thank Christ Jesus our
Lord, who hath enabled me, for that He calleth me faithful.
put me into the ministry who was before a blasphemer and a
persecutor and injurious, but I obtained mercy because I did
it ignorantly in unbelief. I think every believer can put
themselves right there, can't we? And the grace of our Lord
Jesus Christ was exceedingly abundant with faith and love,
which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying and
worthy of all acceptation. Why did our King come to this
earth? That Christ Jesus came into the world. God, Emmanuel,
that Christ Jesus came into the world. Why? To save sinners.
And Paul says, of whom I'm chief. I'm chief. And every believer
says, that's me. That's me. Halibate for this
cause. Again, I obtained mercy. Have
you obtained mercy? Rejoice. Rejoice if you've obtained
mercy. You don't deserve it. Paul says,
How abate for this cause I obtain mercy that in me first Jesus
Christ might show forth all long-suffering, and he was long-suffering really,
what he went through for us, beloved. What he went through
for us in his life and in his death. For a pattern to them
which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. Now
unto the King. Eternal, immortal, invisible,
the only wise God, the honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. So let us ponder this week in
meditating upon the birth of Christ. What wisdom is displayed
here? What wisdom is displayed here?
The eternal becomes a man in order that God might be just
and the justifier of him that believes in Jesus. What power
also is here manifested before us, for what power is so great
is when it conceals itself. Where is power more great than
when it conceals itself? And that's what Christ did. and
what power that God should unroll himself for a while and become
a man, and become a man. And behold, too, what love is
revealed to us when Jesus becomes a man and what faithfulness.
How many promises and how many prophecies are this day, the
day when Christ was born, how many were fulfilled. and how
many solemn obligations are discharged at that hour. No greater proof
of kindness between the Creator and His subjects can possibly
be afforded than when the Creator gives His only begotten Son and
well-beloved Son to die in the room and place of guilty sinners. And that's what He did, beloved.
And what joy there is in the incarnation of Christ, as we
remember that in the incarnation of God's omnipotence, that God's
omnipotence comes down to man's feebleness. And infinite majesty
stoops to man's infirmity. And may we marvel this week in
the precious truth that Jesus Christ came into this world to
seek and to save that which was lost. His sheep. He came to seek
and to save that which was lost. And He came to save His people
from their sins. And beloved, rejoice. Rejoice,
because He did it. He's a successful Savior. He's
not like those guys we're talking about. He's not an example. I can't live a perfect life,
can you? But my Saviour did. Rejoice. He did it in the place
of all who believe on Him. Oh my. So rejoice. Rejoice, Emmanuel has come to
ransom captive Israel. So interview quickly. The Lord
Jesus Christ's birth was a predicted birth. The Old Testament prophets
spoke of His coming. The Lord Jesus Christ's birth
was a miraculous birth. He was conceived by the Holy
Spirit of God. The Lord Jesus Christ's birth
was a virgin birth. He was born of a virgin. Just
as the Scriptures prophesied, He is the seed of the woman.
The Lord Jesus Christ's birth was a holy birth. He was born
perfect, spotless, the sinless Lamb of God. The Lord Jesus Christ's
birth was a lowly birth. He was born in a manger, the
King of kings and the Lord of lords, because there was no room
for Him in the inn. And the Lord Jesus Christ's birth
was a royal birth. He's born king, beloved. He's
born king. And the Lord Jesus Christ was
a beneficial birth. And if you believe, it was beneficial
for you, because it was for me. He saved me from my sins. God
himself entered into time and space to satisfy his law and
his justice in my place. Rejoice. Rejoice, beloved. Oh my, what a Savior. Heavenly
Father, we come before Thy throne. We are so thankful, Lord Jesus,
for Your incarnation, not only for Your incarnation when You
became a man, God incarnate in the flesh, but oh, Lord Jesus,
as You lived the perfect life in our place, and You fulfilled
the law of God in our room and in our place, and then on Calvary's
cross, You satisfied that broken law which we'd broken, And You
did that for us before we were even born. Oh Lord Jesus, we
marvel at Your mercy towards us. As Paul says, I've obtained
mercy and every believer can cry out the same way. Lord, may
we glorify Thee and magnify Thee and think of Thee this week as
we go through our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.
