Two Seeds Pt 1

Genesis 1; James 1

There are two seeds, two generations, put forth in scripture, a natural seed and a spiritual seed. Each seed has its life inside of it and reproduces after it's own kind. In this series we will look at the overwhelming evidence of scripture that shows the unconditional election of God's elect and his reprobation of the non-elect shown as two seeds.

And we're gonna read a couple
of verses here, and then we're gonna turn to Genesis chapter
one. 1 Peter chapter one. For those
who are tuning in by live stream, I apologize, we were having a
little discussion before we got started here. 1 Peter chapter one, and I wanna
read a couple of verses, starting in verse 23. It says, being born again, not
of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible by the word of God, which liveth
and abideth forever. For all flesh is as grass and
all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth
and the flower thereof falleth away, but the word of the Lord
endureth forever And this is the word which by the gospel
is preached unto you. I want to talk a little bit about
this one particular word we find in here. And I've preached this
before. It's been a few years, a few
years back or so. And it's good to sometimes come
around and remind ourselves of some of these teachings within
the word of God. The Bible says all scriptures
given by inspiration is profitable, right? Tells us to preach the
whole counsel of God. So there's a lot to preach on
within God's word. It's good to come back to some
of these things and remind ourselves of these teachings. But the thing
I wanna particularly look at here this morning is found there
in the 23rd verse, and the word is seed. Being born again, not
of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible seed, okay? Being born again
of incorruptible seed. Now, I'm not gonna really get
into a whole lot about this particular verse, but I will say this. I
do not believe that this passage of Scripture is talking about
being born again by hearing the gospel or by reading the Bible
or hearing preaching, okay? I don't believe that being born
again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible by the word
of God is speaking of the Bible or the gospel. It's speaking
directly of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are born again by the Spirit
of Christ coming and giving life to our dead person, okay? We are born dead in trespasses
and sin. We have no spiritual life, but
when we are born from above, we are given the Spirit. It's a new creation. It's not
the old creation reworked. It's not the old creation made
better or jump-started. It is truly a new creation that
was born from above and then implanted into us. As the Bible
speaks, this is a vessel or a clay vessel, and this treasure is
put into this vessel. The vessel doesn't change, but
what's put in the vessel is new. and being born again or being
born from above, not of corruptible seed. So we see the contrast
here between a corruptible seed and an incorruptible seed. There
are two seeds that are in view here, okay? There is a seed that
is corruptible. There is a seed that is incorruptible. And we who are the children of
grace, are born again or for a second time, we are born again
by an incorruptible seed. We are surely born again the
first time or born the first time by a corruptible seed, but
the second time we are born by an incorruptible seed. Now, what
do I mean by this? Well, I believe what we have
in view here is the fact that we are by nature born into this
world a seed of Adam. We are born as his seed, a corruptible
seed. Adam was born natural. He was
born of the flesh. He was born of the earth, earthy. And that which is of the flesh
can only produce those things that are of the flesh. That which
is of the flesh cannot please God. And so Adam was created
for the purpose, as we've talked about here before, of bringing
sin and death into the world and for that the redemptive purposes
of God, glorifying himself and the redemption of his elect that
he had elected before the foundation of the world, that he might glorify
himself through the son by redeeming those people who in Adam were
dead in trespasses and sin. And so we see that we are born
of Adam, that corruptible seed, and we are born of Christ, the
incorruptible seed, when we are born again. Now, just before
we leave this passage, to prove to you why I believe this is
speaking of Christ and not the preached word of God or the Bible
or anything, it says, but the word of the Lord endureth forever.
And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you."
It's not saying this is the preaching by which the preaching is preached
unto you. Or this is the gospel by which
the gospel is preached unto you. It says, this is the word, but
the word of the Lord endureth forever and this is the word
which by the gospel is what is preached unto us in the gospel. The Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord
Jesus, whenever we preach the gospel, we're not preaching a
plan of salvation. We're not preaching a way to
get saved. When we preach the gospel, we
are preaching the work and righteousness of Jesus Christ. We are preaching
Christ and him crucified. And so whenever it says here
that, but the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is
the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. It's talking
about the word is Jesus Christ. And we preach that word, the
word of God. We know that Christ is called
the word. In the beginning was the word
and the word was with God and the word was God. And so we see
that. Christ is the word which by the
gospel is preached unto us. And so I believe that this incorruptible
seed that we see in verse 23 speaks of the Lord Jesus, and
that corruptible seed is Adam. Turn with me now, if you would,
to Genesis chapter one. Genesis chapter one, and look with me if you would
at verse 11. It says, and God said, let the earth
bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding
fruit, after his kind, whose seed is in itself upon the earth,
and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass,
an herb yielding seed, after his kind, and the tree yielding
fruit, whose seed was in itself after his kind, and God saw that
it was good. So you see here, God has set
a precedent. As a matter of fact, look at
verse 21, you'll see it again. And God created great whales
and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought
forth abundantly after their kind, and every winged fowl after
his kind. And God saw that it was good.
Drop down to verse 24. And God said, let the earth bring
forth the living creature after his kind, cattle and creepy thing
and beast of the earth after his kind. And it was so. And God made the beast of the
earth after his kind and cattle after their kind and everything
that creepeth upon the earth after his kind. And God saw that
it was good. And God said, let us make man
in our image after our likeness. and let them have dominion over
the fish, and the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over
the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping
thing that creepeth on the earth. So God created man in his own
image, and the image of God created he him, male and female created
he him, and he blessed them. And God said to them, be fruitful
and multiply. Now we see a principle of scripture
laid down here in this first chapter of Genesis, and that
is the fact that God has made everything after its own kind,
and he has made it with its seed in itself. And so whenever he
created Adam, he created Adam as his kind. He is the representation
of his kind, man, earth, earthy, flesh, natural, man. Adam is the one who God created
and in him, he placed the seed of all those who are in him. We've used this illustration
before. If we take a seed and we plant it in the ground and
it grows and produces fruit, It produces whatever kind of
fruit, let's just say an apple tree. It produces that fruit,
why? Because the life of that apple
tree is inside that seed. So the life is in the seed and
that seed produces after its kind. What kind is it? Well,
it's an apple seed. So it's gonna produce what? Apples,
right? Why? Because that's all it can
produce. By nature, it's an apple seed
and only apple seeds can only produce apples. And so everything
that comes from that, no matter how many generations of that
seed comes about, it's always gonna produce an apple. You're
never gonna find a banana by planting an apple seed, okay? You're never gonna see a banana
hanging on an apple tree. Okay, it produces after its own
kind. So God made all things after
its kind, made it specific. Now, brethren, this right here
automatically, we ought to see, this teaches that evolution is
ridiculous, okay? Man didn't evolve from one species
to another species. He didn't, you know, start out
with some squiggly tadpole and some premortal ooze and work
his way up to a monkey and then into, you know, manhood. No,
God created everything after its kind, specifically the way
that he wanted it. And he made them by their nature
what they are. Lions by nature are lions and
they do what lions do. Do lions eat fruit? No, they
chase down gazelle and kill them and eat them, right? They chase
down other animals and eat them. You put a, you tell a lion, hey,
go out there and start eating leaves and grass and fruit, it's
not gonna do that. The cow eats grass. You put him out there a couple
of big giant ribeye steaks and that cow ain't gonna eat it.
Mainly for preservation sake, he'd be eating himself, right? The cow is not gonna become a
meat eater. Why? Because God has placed within
that cow its nature. God made Adam and within his
nature placed as a seed the nature of everyone that would come from
Adam. Now, what are we talking about
whenever we talk about a seed? Let me talk about that for just
a minute. A seed is that from which anything springs from. It's the original, okay? It's the original. Every year,
my wife, she plants, you know, some plants around in our, around
our house with peppers and tomatoes and all kinds of stuff. She'll
take that pepper seed and she'll put it in the ground and after
a while, boom, out sprouts a plant. And then all of a sudden, not
too long after that, out sprouts a pepper, which is the fruit
of that plant, okay? And so that pepper is produced
because that pepper was inside that seed. it flowed and was
produced because that type of seed produces that type of fruit,
okay? And so that seed is the original,
but yet it will produce many others after it. And so that
one seed creates a generation of seeds. You understand what
I'm saying? It creates a generation of seeds.
That word generation, we know to mean a couple of things. A
generation can mean a length of period of time, like maybe
20 years, or what do they call it? Maybe 70 years, is it 70
years? That's considered a generation. Anyway, somebody can correct
me on that. But anyway, a generation can be a length of period of
time that someone lives, okay? Or of a group of people. You
got the boomer generation, generation X, generation Y, Y, Z, Q, R,
whatever. That's a group of people over
a period of time. But yet the word generation also
mean can be considered as to bring forth or to produce, to
generate is to produce. Like if we generate energy, what
are we doing? We're producing energy. So a
seed will generate after its own kind, it will create a, generation
of other seeds, of other fruit after its kind. That's what God
was saying here. Be fruitful and multiply, generate
others like you. That's what God was saying. And
that one seed, whenever he created all things with the life in itself
after its kind and the seed being in it, it will reproduce or generate
others just like the original. And so whenever we talk about
a seed, we talk about having the original life in it, and
then it becomes a generation of things after its kind. The word generation also can
refer to a lineage of people. My children
are my generation. They have sprung forth from my
loins. They are my seed. They are considered
my seed. They come from my seed. And so
they are considered a generation. But when we look at the word
seed, we see that it is anything from which something springs
from or comes from, the first cause. It also signifies descendants,
generation or race of people. Okay, so everything comes from
a seed. Everything's seed is in itself. See, my seed is in myself. My
wife, whenever we had our children, it was because my seed produced
these children. The seed was in myself, and that
was what produced children. So everything has its seed in
itself and everything brings forth after its kind. And as
we see here in the creation, God commanded the earth to bring
forth grass, all flesh is his grass, the earth yielding seed,
the fruit trees yielding after its kind, the bees, the creatures,
all things God made to reproduce after its kind because its seed
was in itself and he told them to multiply. And then God made
man and he made man to reproduce after his kind. You say, well,
wait a minute now, Adam was created in the image of God. He was in the image of God, but
he wasn't in the kind as God. He was created in the image of
God, but he wasn't created as the kind of God. See, he isn't
God, he is the creation. God is the creator, we are the
creature. And so we are not of the same
kind in that regards, okay? In our nature, in our flesh,
okay? We are created after or in the
image of God, but we are not created as the same kind. Now,
why do I say that? Well, if you'll look in Genesis
chapter, I believe it's five, Verse one, it says, this is the
book of the generations of Adam, those that came from Adam, right? In the day that God created man
in the likeness of God made he him. So he created Adam in the
likeness of God, but not as the kind like God. Male and female
created he them and blessed them, and he called their name Adam
in the day that they were created. Now look here in verse three. And Adam lived 130 years and
begat a son in his own likeness after his image and called his
name Seth. So while Adam was created in
the image of God, the rest of the generation of Adam was created
in the image of Adam. In the image of Adam. After his own likeness. Okay,
so Adam brought forth fruit of his loins after his kind. And we learn in scripture that
Adam was made natural. He was of the earth earthy, he
was of the flesh. And so here we see the seed of
all the human, of all mankind in Adam. He is the first seed. And we see that everyone that
comes from him comes after his kind. You know, we don't become
sinners because we at some point begin to sin. We are born sinners
because we are born after the kind which Adam was. Adam was created natural. The
natural man cannot, cannot, receive or accomplish or do anything
spiritually. He cannot keep the law of God.
He cannot know the fullness of that understanding of the law
of God, doesn't know the gospel, doesn't love God. So all this
stuff that Adam was has been transferred after his kind to
us as his seed. So we see that the command of
God, everything brings forth after his kind. God created Adam and him was
given the seed of natural life, the source and origin of all
mankind. In him, they had their life.
We had our name, our identification. In Adam, we are created all the
passions and propensities of nature. He has commanded Adam
to be fruitful and to multiply. So the human race today are only
Adam multiplied, right? But by Adam, sin entered into
the world, death by sin, and how did sin originate? Well,
it came from the seed. Sin came from the seed. Sin was
within the seed, but had not yet broke forth and manifested. Again, let me ask you, When my
wife plants that pepper seed, is that little pepper that I
pluck off and make into salsa, is that pepper in that seed?
Well, absolutely it is. But can you see it? Not yet. Will it make an appearance? At
some point, it will bring forth fruit after it's kind. Adam brought forth fruit after
his kind. Adam's sin was a fruit of his
nature. And therefore he brought forth
sin because sin was part of the nature of who he was. Adam didn't
sin by free will, Adam sinned by nature. Adam didn't sin because
he changed God's whole purpose and plan. I don't know, you've
probably heard this. I've heard this from people,
that God intended that all men, you know, be like Adam forever,
but then Adam sinned and messed it up. Well, that's not true. In James chapter one, And verse
14 and 15, we learn, for lust, when it hath conceived, bringeth
forth sin. When we talk about conceived,
we talk about a man and woman, like I just said, these children
are my seed. They are products, they are fruit
of my seed. When me and my wife conceived,
and then that seed brought forth life, and that life eventually
produced Well, there we go, children. It produced the children. Well,
the Bible says lust, when it hath conceived, bringeth forth
sin. So therefore, lust is the seed
of sin, because sin comes from lust. And we know that Adam and
Eve, they lusted after what they were told they couldn't have.
Whenever Eve was beguiled, before she could conceive lust, there must have been in her a
nature, a similar seed where that lust was at, to bear forth
the fruit of sin. Adam, whenever he ate of the
fruit, not being deceived as his wife was, but full-on knowing
what he was doing, did that because within him, in that nature, in
who he was, that seed's property, there was lust. And that lust,
as conceived, as a seed is put into the ground, it bringeth
forth fruit. Adam, whenever his lust was conceived,
it brought forth the fruit of sin. And so it was God's purpose
that sin, should enter the world and death by sin. We know that
to be true. For by sin or by one man, sin
entered in the world and death by sin. Who was the one man?
It was Adam, right? We learned that to be true. Let
me, just so that we don't lose what
we're saying here by, what could possibly be a debate. Turn with
me to Romans chapter five. This is where we find this. And
some of you are saying, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute, then
you're making God to be the author of sin. We can argue about man-made
phrases all day long. What we need to do is go to God's
word and what does God's word say about where did sin originate? A sin originated in the creature,
yes. Lucifer was the first one to
sin. Adam was the first one to bring sin and death into the
world. So yes, it did originate in Adam,
but God created Adam for that purpose and with that nature
so that it would accomplish what he had purposed. You say, well,
wait a minute. You're saying that God purposed
the fall? Absolutely. God purposed the
fall. Otherwise Christ would not have
been the lamb slain before the foundation of the world. Well,
I had a lamb slain before the foundation of the world. If after
the foundation of the world, there wasn't going to be sin. But Christ died for sin. And if he is the lamb slain before
the foundation of the world, if he is the mediator between
God and man, if he is the one who the covenant, the everlasting
covenant was based upon, Therefore, the plan or the purpose of God
before the foundation of the world is that the creation that
he creates, the man that he creates will fall into sin and bring
forth death. And therefore, a redeemer is
needed to save them from that because natural man cannot save
himself. Look with me at Romans five,
look at verse 12. Wherefore, as by one man, sin entered into
the world, and death by sin, so death passed upon all men,
for that all have sinned." So what's he saying there? Here's
proof. Sin entered into the world by one man, the seed, Adam. And that has been passed to every,
all of his generation is just like Adam. Why? Because every
one of them sins. Not one person. that has ever
been alive has not escaped sin. They've all sinned. Every one
of you here are sinners. You sin. And the reason you do
that is because you come from your father, Adam, in the flesh. Your natural head. A lot of people
say that he's the federal head. He's the natural head. He's the
natural head. It says, until the law, sin was
in the world, but sin is not imputed where there is no law.
Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them
that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression,
who is the figure of him that was to come. Now here, the Bible
is saying, Yes, the Decalogue, the law of God and everything
that was attached to the Decalogue that was given to Moses had not
been given yet. And so some people may say, well,
how can he have sinned if there wasn't a law yet? There's no
law. Well, we know that sin was in
the world because people were dying from Adam unto Moses. And the reason that they were
dying is because death comes by sin, comes from sin. The wages of sin is death. The
Bible says that sin is because of death. James said that when
lust is conceived, it brings forth sin, and sin bringeth forth
death. So the reason that people die is because of sin. And if
people were dying between Adam and Moses, therefore, that meant
those people, even though they had not received the law of God
yet, were sinners. But was there a law before Moses?
Well, yes, there was. because it says here that Adam
transgressed. What does the Bible say that
sin is? Sin is the transgression of the law. What law did God
give to Adam? Don't eat of that tree. In the
day thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die. He didn't say
if you eat of that tree, he said in the day. He was telling Adam
what was gonna happen already. but he'd give him a command.
He'd give him a law and said, don't eat of that tree. And Adam
transgressed God by eating of that tree. Adam sinned by breaking
the law of God, transgressing the law of God. Now, follow along
with me. But not as the offense, mark
that word, offense, but not as the offense, so also is the free
gift. For if through the offense, now
what are we talking about the offense? We're talking about
Adam's transgression, right? Adam's breaking God's law. That's the offense. For through
the offense of one, many be dead, much more the grace of God and
the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ has abounded
unto many. So it's saying here, just like
how we, from one seed, inherited death, so from another seed,
Jesus Christ, we inherit grace, or life, we can inherit life. Look at verse 16. Not as if it
was by one that sinned, so is the gift, for the judgment was
by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses
unto justification. For if by, here's the word again,
for if by one man's offense, death reigned by one, what's
the offense again? Adam's sin against God saying,
don't eat of that tree. Okay, that's the offense. For
if by one man's offense, death reigned by one, much more, they
which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness
shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ. See, Jesus Christ is
the source of our abundance of grace and righteousness. Just
as Adam is the source of our sin and disobedience and transgression
and death, Christ is the source of our righteousness and life
and grace. Verse 18, therefore, as by the
offense, there's that word again, of one, Adam's transgression
against God's law, As by the offense of one, judgment came
upon all men to condemnation, even so by the righteousness
of one, the free gift came upon all men, meaning all men that
are in this category, unto justification of lies. For as by one man's
disobedience, now the word now is used disobedience, but it
means the same thing, the offense, okay? For as by one man's disobedience,
many were made sinners." They were made sinners, how? Because
the fruit of his sin or his lust was sin. He brought forth sin
from his nature, who he was as the seed. And we, therefore, because we
are born of him, My boys have hemophilia B, a
blood disorder. And why do they have that? Well,
because my wife is a carrier of that. And whenever those children
are born or conceived by us, they receive that, it's passed
to them. Why are we sinners? Because we
are after the kind that was originally created. Adam has reproduced
after his kind. The kind of life that he had
inside himself is passed on to us. And what kind of life was
that? It was a natural life, not a spiritual life. It was
a natural life. a natural one that cannot perceive
the things of the Spirit of God. So, for by one man's disobedience
many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many
be made righteous." See, it isn't about what we do that makes us
sinners, it's who we are that makes us sinners. We are of the
seed of Adam, therefore we are sinners because that is the nature
of that kind of seed. But for those who are the elect
of God, they also have the seat of Christ in them. And that seat
is incorruptible, and it is righteous. Looky here. So by the obedience
of one, shall many be made righteous. See, Adam's disobedience showed
forth the fact of his unrighteousness, his sinfulness. Full obedience showed forth the
fact of His righteousness. Christ is righteous and therefore
the fruit of that righteousness is obedience. His perfect obedience
is showing forth the fruit that He is righteous. And it says
here that we are made righteous in the same way. not because
of what we do. There isn't anything that we
do that makes us sinners. We are what we are because of
the kind that we're after. In the spiritual realm, being
born from above, that new creation that is planted in us, if you
will, to keep in theme with the seed, that which is planted in
us is after the kind of the original, righteous. That's why the Bible
says that those, whenever we have the life of Christ in us,
it's that life, that life cannot sin. But what our flesh is, all
it can do is sin. That's why Paul said in Romans
7, he has this. Consternation, he has the flesh
and the spirit warring against itself. Why? Because the flesh
can only sin and the spirit cannot sin. The flesh wants to do what
it wants to do. The spirit wants to do what it
wants to do. And those two clash against us
in this bodily tent. One seed is made of sin. One seed is made of righteousness. Look at what it says in verse
20 though. Moreover, the law entered. Now, what law is it again that
we're talking about? The context of the scripture,
the law is don't eat of that tree. That was the law. That
was the law that Adam was given. Remember, the Decalogue and all
the laws connected to it, given to Moses, had not yet come in,
thousands of years away. Adam was given a law, don't eat
of that tree. And here, the word of God, not
my philosophy, not the Baptist philosophy, not this church's
philosophy, The Word of God says, the law entered that the offense
might abound. The reason that God gave Adam
the law is so that the law would kill Adam. Unless a grain of wheat falls
into the ground and dies, it will not bring forth fruit. The only reason that Adam can
bring forth a generation of people who in that generation of people
has in them the elect of God from before the foundation of
the world that Christ is going to redeem There has to come sin. There has to come death. That
comes from the seed, the original. It brings forth after its own
kind, and after its own kind, it produces after itself. Sinners. So if there is a sin, there has
to be a law because sin is the transgression of the law. God
give the law. to Adam so that the offense might
abound. Why? Because God had purpose
that sin and death enter into the world by one man so that
the lamb slain before the foundation in the world would be glorified
in his death, burial, resurrection, and his efficacious, vicarious,
substitutionary work on the cross for those people. Turn back to Genesis, if you would. So God said in the day Thou eatest
thereof, thou shalt surely die. Adam brought sin and death into
the world by the purpose of God. Did God sin? No, God did not
sin. Was God a sinner? No, God was
not a sinner. Was God unrighteous in creating
Adam the way he created Adam? Absolutely not. The potter hath
power over the clay to make of that clay whatever he wants to
make it. And some will say, well, wait a minute, God made him and
said that it was good. How could Adam have been made
a sinner or been made with a nature of sin if God said it was good? Brethren, it's because Adam was
exactly what God intended. When God made Adam, he made him
for the purpose of bringing sin and death into the world. He
made him a natural man. He made him of the earth earthy. He made him for the purpose so
that when the law would be given, that the offense might abound.
He made him that way, and so therefore, Adam was, when God
looked at him, good in his eyes, and not in a righteous aspect,
but in a functional aspect. Adam was good, to the eye of
God as his creation because he was what God created him to be. The entry point of sin into the
world and death into the world. He created him for that purpose.
Therefore, Adam functioned in the purpose that he was built
for, made for, ordained for. And so God could look at that
and say, it is good. just as God could look down before,
look down upon the taking of Jesus by wicked hands and that
all of that that took place in the death of Christ and the torture
and the beating and the mockery and all that went on with Christ
and then ultimately the wrath of God being poured out upon
his son and say that it pleased him to bruise
the son. It was good to God for that to
be done. Why? Because God's purpose was
being fulfilled in that. The wicked hands taking it. Was
it wicked? Yes. Was it evil men? Yes. Was it
sinful for what they did? Yes. But to God, it was good
just as Joseph was sold into slavery, thrown in the pit, sold
into slavery. You meant it for evil, God meant it for good.
That evil act to you is evil, but to me, it's good. Why? It's
accomplishing the purpose for which it's happening. Christ's
purpose for why he was dying demanded wicked hands take him
and beat him, as the scripture said. Pluck his beard out, as
the scripture said in Psalms. Him being thirsty, as the scripture
said in Psalms. Being forsaken of all of his
friends, as the psalmist said. All the things that happened
to Christ happened because God had purpose to that, and therefore
there had to be sin, there had to be death, and there had to
be wicked men. So that's why there are two seeds.
There's the seed of Adam, and there's the seed of Christ.
There is the natural man and there's the spiritual man. The
spiritual man is those for whom Christ was given by the Father
to redeem in that fall, into sin and death, not fall from
spiritual life, but fall into sin and death, that God give
to the son to redeem them out of that curse. Therefore, now they are a generation
of Christ. And we'll look at that in more
detail in days to come. If God did not want Adam to eat
of that tree, he would not have said, in the day thou eatest
thereof, thou shalt surely die. He said that because the seed
of sin and death was in Adam. God created all the seed. The
seed of sin and evil are not accepted. How else can God be
the creator of heaven and earth and all that's in them? The Bible
says that he creates light and creates darkness. He makes peace
and creates evil, that's Isaiah 45. See brethren, all these things
are according to his purpose. How else could all things work
together for good if God was not in control of all of it,
had purposed all of it? How else could he be God and
beside him there are none else? if people are doing things opposed
to God's will and thwarting God. If Adam would have done that
against what God wanted, then Adam has changed God's purpose
and plan. Then how can God be God? No, God does not give in his
sovereignty man the free choice to make that. No, God doesn't
do that. Otherwise God will be learning
As man makes his free choices, God begins to see, oh, wait a
minute, oh, that's not, oh, wait, wait. Now, how is it that God
works all things after the counsel of his own will, right? Isn't it that God says that he
is purposive and none can annul it? If God has purposed that
Adam be perfect and stay perfect in that garden and not ever eat,
then Adam cannot annul that, but yet Adam annulled that, so
to speak. if we believe as the other people
do, that God can give sovereignty to man and let him make the free
choices. Now, God purposed Adam to do
exactly what Adam did, and Adam did exactly as God purposed. Brethren, the seed of sin brought
forth the transgression according to God's purpose, both of grace
and creation. It's according to his purpose
of grace because God stood as the Lamb slain. Since by one man sin entered
the world and death by sin, so death or separation passed upon
all men for all that have sinned, we must remain in that condition
unless there is grace given to us. That's why we have to be
born again, because whenever we were born the first time,
we were born of Adam's kind. To be saved, we must be born
of Christ's kind, righteous. That's why Christ told Nicodemus,
you must be born again. There can be nothing of the first
birth that can save you. Nothing that you are in that
first birth can produce anything righteous before God, just as
in Adam. Listen, Adam had the perfect
conditions, right? No sin had preceded him other
than that which was in heaven by Satan, but no sin had been
around him to influence him. There wasn't a bad environment
there. There wasn't horrible parents that gave him bad upbringing.
There wasn't a school system that imposed upon him wrong values. There wasn't, you know, secular
music to fill his mind full of bad things or TV to fill his
mind full of bad things. There wasn't all these things
that was a pressure from outside for him to sin. No, brethren,
the Bible says that the corruption isn't what comes into the mouth,
but what comes out of the mouth, it's what's inside of us. Adam's
corruption was on the inside, it was who he was. God purposed
that, because Adam was to reproduce after his kind. Because in that
reproducing after his kind would produce a generation of sinners,
and out of that generation of sinners, the elect of God who
was elected before the fall of Adam, who God had loved before
creation, who God had blessed with all spiritual blessings
before creation, who God had already imputed the righteousness
of Christ to those sinners' accounts, those people would come forth.
and manifest themselves as the sinners that they are, but the
birth that is second from above would come and then therefore
in time manifest the seed that they are. By faith, they will
reach out and trust Christ. By faith, they will love God. By faith, they will love their
brothers. By faith, they will trust the word of God, read the
word of God, desire the word of God, the fellowship of the
brethren, the service of Christ. By faith, they on the inward
man will be compelled to do and think and be something that they
cannot be in the natural man. The brethren don't think that
it's them that has changed. It is Christ that is in them.
That's the hope of glory. It's Christ that is in them working
to will and to do His good pleasure. It's the life of Christ inside
that dead vessel of clay that can only produce sin. So we see
that there is a seed of Adam. There is a seed of Christ. Now
we're gonna break that down. We're gonna stop right there.
We're gonna break that down more over in the next few weeks. I'm
gonna spend a few weeks talking about this. We're gonna look
at several scriptures throughout the Bible that shows forth this
two rivers, this two streams, these two seas, these two kinds
of people. We're gonna see that throughout
the scripture and show that the Bible teaches this to be true,
that there are two kinds of people. You know, Romans says that God
has made two kinds of people, right? There's Jacob and Esau,
the loved and the unloved. There is the vessel of honor,
the vessel of dishonor, the vessel of glory, the vessel of wrath,
Okay, there is this two, this duality of seeds, or this two
seeds, if you would, and we will look at that in the next few
weeks as we go through this study. Now, if you'll remember, I will
not be here next week. I will be serving the church
in Delaware, Oklahoma, First Baptist Church of Delaware, Oklahoma.
They're still looking for a pastor, and I'm filling in the pulpit
there on Sunday morning, And they'll be praying, I'll also
be filling in the pulpit at Coedah Baptist Church in Coedah, Oklahoma
on Sunday night for them. So be in prayer, if you would,
for them. Also be in prayer for both churches,
the church in Coedah and in the church at Delaware that Lord
might work and minister in the areas that they have need. if
you don't mind. We will not be here next week,
so next week you can sleep in, get
up, and watch on video. We'll try to broadcast through
Facebook. If you have Facebook, we'll broadcast
from our church page on Facebook if you want to do that. If you've
got a hankering and want to drive to those two places, you're welcome
to do that as well. whatever you wanna, whatever you are led
to do, brethren, but we will not be here this next Sunday,
the 14th. Anybody got any questions or
any comments about what's being said or any questions or rebukes,
reproves? Reprove. All right. Let's bow and have
a word of prayer. Father, we thank you for this
day and we thank you for the grace that you've given us through
the Lord Jesus We thank you for this study that we have before
us to show forth the work of God and the election of God and
the redemption that's in Christ Jesus for his people. And Lord,
we just pray that you'd guide us in the rest of this study
as we go forth, Lord, that we might receive out of it, not
just a historical lesson, but that we might see the love of
God in Christ Jesus towards his elect. who by nature are sinners,
who by nature are dead in trespasses and sins, but yet through grace
is given life and that is given a righteousness outside of themselves
that is imputed to their account. And Lord, we just pray that you
would help us to glorify Christ, honor Christ in all that he has
done on our behalf. Father Lord, I pray that you'll
be with these brethren as we leave this place, that you'll
be with them this week, that you'll guide them, direct them
as you have promised, that you'll provide for them as you have
promised, Lord, keep them safe. Lord, we pray for our country.
We ask, Lord, that you would just help us to be faithful to
you as we look at the evil and the wickedness that's going on
in our land today. But we know that you are in control
of all things and you have a purpose in all of this. And that judgment
very well is being laid out to our country by these evil leaders
that you have set up in our leadership. And so Father Lord, we pray.
that if it be your will, that you would give us good leaders,
return the hearts of your people once again to you, that our nation
would once again look to you, and Father, that you might bring
forth comfort and blessing if that be your will. But Father,
if that not be your will, we pray that you would help us through
all this stuff, that you would give us strength, That you give
us wisdom and discernment. Again, give us faith to trust
you and look to you despite what we see going on. And Father,
that you would strengthen our fellowships in these local churches
wherever we're at. Lord, we pray that you would
strengthen that and that we would be for encouragement. Lord, protect
our churches in this time, whenever persecution is already beginning
against the people of God gathering. Lord, may you give us freedom
to continue to meet, but Lord, that you might give us strength
that if we have to hide in our homes or do whatever we must,
Lord, we pray that you would keep us faithful and protect
us in all those things. We pray for your return, Lord,
that you'll deliver us from this evil and untoward generation,
and that you would bring us unto yourself so that we might live
with you and dwell with you in the city of God wherein dwells
righteousness. And so Father, we just look forward
to that day and we say, even so come quickly, Lord Jesus.
May He bless this day, this time that we've had together, Lord,
that these people have been edified and been encouraged. And Lord,
for those who are listening or watching by a live stream or
a sermon audio or whichever way that they're listening, Lord,
I pray that it might be a blessing to them as well and an encouragement
to them in the faith. And it's in Christ's name that
we pray. Amen.
