Hebrews chapter 12 verse 10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best, but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in His holiness.
Whatever our Heavenly Father wills for His redeemed people is best. When He wills sickness for us, then sickness is better than health. When He wills weakness for us, then weakness is better than strength. When He wills poverty for us, then poverty is better than wealth. When He wills reproach for us, then reproach is better than honor. When He wills death for us, then death is better than life.
As God is wisdom itself, and so He knows that which is best, So He is goodness itself, and therefore cannot do anything but that which is best.
Therefore remain silent before the Lord. I was silent, I would not open my mouth, for you are the one who has done this. Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now I keep your word. It was good for me to be afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes. I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are righteous and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.
