This is the building we want,
downtown Pontiac. Right now, presently, it's a
bar. It was the old congregational
church building years ago. We want to make it again the
house of God, where people can see the light and get their life
back. But we're going to need your help. Volunteerism, we're
going to need that. And we're going to need dollars
to purchase this building. It's a happy day. It's a wonderful
day. And it's going to be just such
a great thing for Grace Centers of Hope and I thank you for cooperating
and being a part and helping us. Of course, we'll ensue. You know how much I love you
and thank you. Everybody in the room. Clutch Cargo is no longer a nightclub. And I'm absolutely thrilled that
these walls will soon hear and ring with the old gospel of Jesus
Christ once again in downtown Pontiac. The property of 65 East
Tehran in Pontiac was dedicated to the First Congregation Church
of Pontiac in 1911. But the Depression came and the
church felt disrepair. By 1997, it was a nightclub. A dance floor replaced the pews.
The stained glass witnessed to an often stained reputation on
this corner of Pontiac. But today, a new chapter as the
building changes hands and goes back to God. And great centers
of hope across the street. We plan to have our first service
on Easter Sunday. It's going to take almost a million
dollars to rehab that building. And so right now we're taking
the steps to raise that dollars. On Easter Sunday we'll have our
first service there debt free. We're not going to do anything
that will get the church in debt. Donations are coming in and as
those donations come in we transform the inside of that building. You're going to be surprised.
It's going to be an awesome thing for the Old Gospel of Jesus Christ
to ring again in the auditorium there at what used to be a sanctum
bar and then to Clutch Cargo nightclub and now the home of
Grace Gospel Fellowship.
