What a pleasure. Better yet, what an honor to
be here once again. I was up in Dingus, West Virginia
on Sunday with Roland Browning and his wife, Lori, and I brought a message titled, greater
things than one day. Resurrection Day, they call it,
last Sunday, the world. Resurrection Day, one day out
of the year that they gather together and worship their imaginary
gods. And most of us may have been
in that very same boat as well one time, right? To the people of God, Resurrection,
the fact that our Lord and Savior sits on His throne today, giving
us the confidence, and that's what we have our assurance in,
is that He sits on His throne right now. Resurrection is not just a day,
it's something greater than one day. As God's children, we think
about Him all the time. Can't help it. First thing we
do when we open up our eyes in the morning is take a breath
as we thank to ourselves, Lord, thank you. Thank you for forgiving
me because I'm about to start sinning. I'm about to start forgetting
who you are, where you're at, and thinking John's just a little
more than what I should be thinking I am. I'd like to talk to you tonight
about considering Him, considering our Christ, our God. You know, the word Christ is
Messiah, Deliverer, our Savior. And that's what we come together
to do, isn't it? We've spent, what, At least the
last two days, in the world surrounded by all the stuff that goes on
in the world, surrounded by all the things
that go through our minds, thoughts, deeds. I don't know about you folks,
but as a sinner, I need to hear about my Savior as often as I
can. I need to consider Him as often
as I can just to get me through the day. I can't imagine going
back to what it was before, not having someone to rely on. Thinking that I could rely on
John when I really couldn't. Oh, the comfort. The comfort
that God gives us in His Word, bringing out our Lord and Savior
as our all in all. Consider him. Listen to these
words from Hebrews chapter 12, verse 3. And I know that you
folks have probably heard this message from other pastors maybe
a hundred times. I know your pastor has preached
it more than once. In fact, Shelby, I was talking
to her about it. And if we get time, I don't know
if we'll get to it or not, but if we got time and you'll recall,
Don wrote an article about this very thing, consider him. Hebrews
12, verse 3. So let me read that verse for
you, if you would. For consider Him... Now listen to this. This is what we're to consider.
Him. First off, one person. Salvation is a person. It's the Lord Jesus Christ, God
Almighty in the flesh. It's Christ in Him crucified
for a people. That's salvation. Consider Him
that endured. Isn't that something? I was telling
the folks up there at Dingus, great group of people up there,
by the way. If you've never been up there, you folks are close.
You got to go up there sometime and meet those folks. They're
just some really, they're as special as you are, especially
as you are. I've fallen in love with everyone
up there. But I was telling them, Is it just me or does it blow
your mind at how God... We can't comprehend the depth
of God leaving His majesty, putting His royalty aside for just a
moment. For what? For us. For you and I. For all of those
that the Father gave Him. I don't know about you, but I
can't understand a love like that. I love this woman more
than any person in this world. I love her dearly, but it doesn't
compare to what God's love for me is and for all those that
the Father giveth him. And if you're one of those, he
cares for you the same. That just brings blessings to
my heart. Blessings. Consider Him that
endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself. That's what God did. He manifested
His Son in the flesh. He prepared Him a body. Sent Him to this world. to do His will. And what was
the Father's will? The Father's will was that the
Son would save all that He had given Him. Every one. Not one
from whom Christ died will go to hell. All the sins of all
of His people throughout all time. You know, most places when
the Bible talks about the world, like for instance, for God to
love the world, it's not talking about all mankind. It's talking
about all of His people throughout all time. All of his people from
every nation, from every tongue, from every tribe, throughout
all time, will be saved. They are the whosoever will believe. The word consider means to estimate. It means, figuratively, to contemplate. In that article Don wrote, he
brings out that this, consider, here is actually meaning to weigh
the balances. Weigh is the worth to think about
what Christ has done for us when we're struggling with our walk
with God, when we're looking in the mirror and we're seeing
ourselves for what we are. Weigh in the balances. Consider
Him. Consider Him who endures. How can we comprehend the Creator
of all that is being made sin? How can you wrap your mind around
that? I know there are men much wiser
than me who can try to explain that. But this little pea brain
just can't understand it. But I'm so thankful it's true.
I'm so thankful. I'm so thankful. Would you open your Bibles to
1 Peter with me? Chapter 3. And I'll try not to
spend too much time on it, but I'd like to bring out five points
that I pray brings our minds to consider Him. And I'd like
you to mark your page, because we're going to take one verse
in 1 Peter 3, and we're going to jump around a little bit tonight.
I don't normally do that, but there's five points here, so
we've got to at least jump to five different places and look
at God's Word about it. So mark your spot here in chapter
18, 3, and we'll look at verse 18. 1 Peter 3, verse 18, For Christ
also hath once suffered for sins the just for the unjust, that
he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but
quickened by the Spirit." Now, we'll come back to this again.
So I want you to mark your Bibles there, if you would. And I want
to begin with the key to this statement that we see here. For Christ also hath once suffered
for sins. Now, let's turn over to Philippians
2. Go over to Philippians 2. And look with me at a couple
of verses here. We're talking about the Creator of all that
is, who suffered for sins, but He only had to do it once. Why?
What was it that brought this to the point where He only had
to do it once? And it is this, that He is the perfect, sovereign,
righteous God of all that is. He's perfect. Do you realize
that not only is He perfect in every act that He did while He
walked this earth, He was perfect in being made sin. Again, that's
one of those things, that's pretty tough to wrap your mind around
that one as well. He was perfect in it. I don't know how, but
He was perfect in everything He did. There was no unrighteousness
in Jesus Christ. He never sinned. He walked this
earth exactly how the Father had told Him to walk, exactly
how the Father wanted Him to walk. He always did the will
of the Father. He is the very one that God said,
this is My Son in whom I am well pleased. Now look at what he
did here in Philippians chapter 2, beginning at verse 5. Let
this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. So that
we know who we're talking about, just to be sure there. It's Him,
it's the Lord Jesus Christ, who being in the form of God, thought
it not robbery to be equal with God, because He is God. John 1.1, In the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Not was a God, but was God. Everything created was created
by Him. And the word was manifest in
the flesh, who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery
to be equal with God, but made himself." You see this point
that was made there in Hebrews 12, 3? Consider him that endured
such contradiction. Made himself of no reputation
and took on him the form of a servant. and was made in the likeness
of men." Does it amaze you that the very One that formed you
in your mother's womb got down on His knees and washed the feet
of those that He loved? It's called amazing grace, isn't
it? Because it's amazing! It's absolutely amazing. He made
of Himself of no reputation, and He took upon Him the form
of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men, and being
found in the fashion of a man, He humbled Himself and became
obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. The key to our text in 1 Peter
3, verse 18, is this statement. He did it once. He didn't need to do it twice. I was telling somebody, I think
I was talking to Paul Mahan. I was talking to Paul Mahan just
a little while ago. And he's quite the contractor. I guess he can really build things
out of wood. He's pretty good from what I
hear. And I'm just the opposite. I'm just the opposite. I tried to rebuild my bathroom
one time a long, long time ago. I learned early, by the way.
I learned it very early. And shortly, about maybe six
months later, I had to pay somebody to come in and do it over and
do it right. Very, very few things in my life
have I gotten away with only doing it once. Folks, Christ
has never had to do anything twice. When he does it, He does
it right. There's no ifs, ands, or buts
about his salvation. Salvation is of the Lord, and
he does it right, and he only needed to do it once. When he
did it, he said, what? You know the words. It is finished. Isn't that right? It is finished. The very one who is called the
omnipotent, That means all power. That means powerful, more than
you and I can even imagine. Listen to these words from Revelation
19, verse 6, And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great
multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice
of a mighty thundering, saying, Hallelujah! For the Lord God
omnipotent reigneth. He who is all power, rules all
things." That's what the word sovereign means. All powerful,
all able. What He desires, what He purposes,
it is so. When the Lord suffered and died
on the cruel cross, He accomplished His desire. Well, what was His
desire? Look over at John chapter 6 with
me, if you would. Turn over to John chapter 6.
And look at a couple of verses over there with me, if you would. John chapter 6. We're talking about the all-powerful
whose purpose is served in all things. Do you realize that means
that everything in creation is there to serve His purpose? Everything. Everything that's ever happened.
I know that's hard to understand, especially when we look back
through the history and the cruelty of men, that every single thing
that has happened in history has happened so that God's purpose
would be fulfilled. If not, then He's not God and
we're wasting our time. Look here at verses 37-40, if
you would. All that the Father, we're talking
about the Sovereign God of all things, that His purpose would
be fulfilled. All that the Father giveth me
shall. Don't you like those words? If
it said maybe, I'd be... I wouldn't have any hope for
anything, would I? If it said if it's possible, there'd be
no hope for anything. What assurance would we have
of everything? But God tells us shall. That means they will. He's purposed it. And what He
purposes will come about. All that the Father giveth me
shall come to me, and them that cometh to me I will in no wise
cast out, for I came down from heaven. You can't get any more
clear than this. He came down from heaven for
what? Not to do mine own will, but the will of Him that sent
me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me. that
all which He has given me I should lose nothing." These are good
words. These are great words to a sinner
who can't help themselves. Sinners, when they hear these
words, they praise the Lord. I've got some hope. Whatever God's will shall be
done. He'll lose none, but raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of Him that
sent me, that everyone which seeth the Son and believeth on
Him may have everlasting life. And I will raise Him up at the
last day." I recently had a conversation with a man who's struggling with
his faith. You folks who have strong faith,
you don't have to worry about this. He's struggling hard. He's sitting
at home most of the time thinking to himself, I just, I don't know
if I love the Lord. I don't feel like I love the
Lord. I asked him, I said, do you believe
he's Lord? Oh yeah, yeah, he's Lord. But I just, I don't know if I
love him. I don't, I don't feel like I love him like I should.
It seems like my sin is getting worse and worse every day. The
doubt. I don't have any confidence in
my thoughts. And I said, do you believe He
is Lord? Do you believe that He is Lord? Do you believe He's created everything?
Do you believe this is His Word? Oh yeah! There's no doubt in
my mind about that. You know you can't do that without
Him. God's not loving you because
you love Him. If you love Him, it's because
He first loved you. That's His Word. If you believe
that He put you in your mother's womb, if you believe that He
created all there is, if you believe that He loves
a people unto Himself, the world and natural men cannot do that.
Without the dwelling of the Spirit, you can't call Him Lord from
your heart. We can speak from these lips,
There's people all over the place who are calling Him Lord. I've
got family members who, oh, I love the Lord! I'm so thankful I decided
to follow Him. I'm so thankful that I turned
my life around at such and such age, and I don't do those things
that I used to do anymore. I'm such a better person, and
life is so much better for me. I've never heard a true Christian
say that. The Christians I know all tell
me this. It's getting worse! My pastor who's known the Lord
for over 40 years, it's getting worse in this flesh, I can't
wait to go home! He's 84 years old and it's still
getting worse! That gives me hope. Because it's
getting worse for me too. Consider him instead of this. I know you have to be in it.
I know we have to walk around in this every day, seven days
a week. And for a couple of hours, we
put all that behind us, and we come together with other ones
who are just like us. Who are looking to our Savior
for our all in all. Because that's the only place
we can look. It's the only place where we see any hope. And considering
Him, When you consider him, consider
this. Paul, writing to First Timothy
one, verse 15, this is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. That Christ Jesus came into the
world to save sinners, do you believe? Somebody wants, I think it was
John Chapman. What a wonderful minister he
is. I think he said in his message,
he said, maybe it was somebody else, I don't know. It's not
how much you believe, it's who you believe, who you believe
in. Your faith, this man's faith,
who's struggling so hard with it, it may be very, very small,
like he says. but he believes his faith is
in the Lord. I don't know how much comfort
that brings to him. I hope it brings him some. I know that
if he's comforted by it, if you're comforted by it, it's not something
that I've done. It's not something I've said.
It's not something any man can say from this pulpit. Only God can comfort your heart.
Only God can deal with the hearts of men. Our Lord taught his disciples
as we read in Mark 9 verse 31. The son of man is delivered into
the hands of men and they shall kill him. And after that he is
killed, he shall rise the third day. Why? Because he's accomplished
what he purposed. to come here for. Blood had to be shed. Without blood, there is no remission
of sin. Without the shedding of blood,
the penalty of sin is death. This man who stands before you
tonight has sinned, and death for me is required. And unlike the blood of goats
and calves that were sprinkled on the seed of mercy for the
sins of the people every year, our High Priest Jesus Christ
did it once with His own precious blood and He accomplished His
purpose. Turn over to Hebrews chapter
10 if you would. I love these words over here
in Hebrews 10. This is wonderful stuff. When we read these words,
you can't help but see that one offering. And that's what we
see here in Hebrews 10 verse 12. But this man, speaking of
this one who we're taking into consideration tonight, this one
who went against everything that he was, who humbled himself and
became a servant, the very one who everything in creation serves,
became a servant. This man, after he had offered
one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of
God, from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his
footstool, for by one offering he hath perfected forever them
that are sanctified. In Isaiah 53, he is called a
man of sorrows. He suffered, but he only suffered
once. 1 Peter 4, verse 13, we read these
words, but rejoice in so much as ye are partakers of Christ's
sufferings, that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be
glad also with exceeding joy. Next point. I'll try not to take
too much time on the next couple of points as I did that one.
We'll see. Next point is in our verse, back
in our text again. 1 Peter 3, verse 18. I took my marker out. for the unjust. Folks, Christ
knew no sin. He never sinned, not once. And
everything our Lord did pleased the Father. He was just, perfect,
sinless, yet He was made sin. He was made our sin. In 2 Corinthians
5.21, and if you're going to read this along with me, I want
you to take the italics words out. Those are words that were
added in by the translators of English. They're not in the original
language, and I think it would read better if we read it this
way, For he hath made him sin. He hath made him sin. For us. He never sinned. He was perfect
in every way. He knew no sin, yet God the Father
made him sin. When I read it that way, it just
magnifies the mystery of it. We're studying, and I'm not ashamed
to say this either, we're studying Don's book, the e-book, Mysteries
of God, You know, I love what he wrote, and I love
what he pointed out, but there are so many mysteries, I don't
think a book could handle it all. He did a great job, and
he brought out some wonderful mysteries, but there's a lot
of mysteries. Our God is miraculous. Everything
miraculous is a mystery, is it not? I mean, you can't explain
it. How can you explain a man's hand
that was withered all of a sudden being whole? There's no science
at all that can back that up. How can you explain that the
whole earth was covered with water at one time? It's a mystery! How can you explain that God
was manifest in the flesh? What a mystery that is! What a mystery that God was made
sin for us, this one who knew no sin. Why? That we would be
made the righteousness of man. No, that's not what it says. If you're reading along with
me, there's no righteousness in men. None of us have any righteousness
within ourselves. Yet we need perfect righteousness
to be in the presence of God. This is the one that we're considering,
the one who laid down His life, so we would be righteous. The
righteousness of God is what it says. Sin cannot be set aside,
it cannot be swept under the rug, it must be dealt with. And
Christ dealt with our sins, taking our sins upon Himself, it says
in Scripture, bearing them in His own body, though He sinned
not. The only way to explain it is
this, substitution. He stood in my place. He took. If this doesn't grab your heart,
then folks, I pray for you. This doesn't grab a hold of your
heart. He took our wrath that we deserve. You talk about love. I would never expect her to do
that for me. I would love to try to do it
for her, but I just don't know that I could. Jesus Christ took our wrath,
the wrath of God upon Himself out of pure love for us. The only just one gave Himself
a sacrifice for me, the unjust. Why? That comes to our next point. Look again at 1 Peter 3, verse
18. for Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for
the unjust, that he might bring us to God." There's only one
way between man and God. Jesus Christ Himself give us
a warning of that over in Matthew 7 verse 13 where we read, enter
ye in at the straight gate. For wide is the gate, and broad
is the way that leadeth to destruction." There are two kinds of religion. I don't care, you can put Baptist
on it, you can put Muslim on it, you can put Hindu on it,
you can put Seventh-day Adventist on it, you can put Jehovah Witnesses,
whatever you want. There are two types of religion. Man's works, God's grace. This is God's grace. We have a sign over the walkway
of our church as you walk in past the fellowship hall to the
main building. Brother Mike Loveless came up
with this. I don't want to take any credit for it. The man's
just a great poet, but he wrote a sign that says, If your God
is trying, your pastor is lying. That's the other religion. That's
the man's works, where God has tried to save some people, but
it's up to them to make it work. If God leaves it up to John to
do anything with it, I told you, I mess everything up. once tried
to change the toilet out at the church. Pastor Gene, just go
and do it, John. Pastor, I'm telling you, it's
not a good idea. I broke a bolt. It's still broken to this day.
Don't worry, if you ever come to the church, you don't have
to worry. It's still solid. It's got one bolt holding it down good
and tight. Consider him. the very One who is just, who
sacrificed Himself for the unjust that He might bring us to God. That warning, our Lord says,
that leadeth the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there
be that go thereat. The Lord of all glory, the very
one who said that warning, says this in John 14, verse 6, I am
the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh under the Father
but by me. Sin had separated mankind from
our Creator. He cannot look upon it. The only
way to God is through His Son, the Lord Jesus, by His substitutionary
death. He is reconciled. He has redeemed. He has sanctified. He has justified
His elect, His chosen people, unto Himself. And He only had to do it once. Isaiah 40 verse 1 says this,
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. The prophet cries
out, How, Lord, how shall I comfort them? And he tells him this.
He says, Tell them that their warfare is accomplished. If you belong to Christ. If he
has gone to that cross for you, your warfare is accomplished. That doesn't mean that we go
out and want to sin. Folks. Be ye holy. For our God is holy. But if you sin. You have you
have an advocate in heaven for you sitting on his throne this
very minute. It's like Peter beginning to
sink. What's it tell us? He reached
down and grabbed him. Oh, how the Lord reaches down
and grabs me every day. Consider him. Our Lord tells us in Jeremiah
31, 33, but this shall be the covenant that I will make with
the house of Israel. After those days, saith the Lord,
I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their
hearts, and will be their God, and they shall be My people."
There's only one way to God, and that's through the perfect
spotless Lamb. And that brings me to my next
point for consideration, being put to death in the flesh. 1 Timothy 3.16, and without controversy,
great is the mystery of godliness. God was manifest in the flesh.
God cannot die, and sin demands death. The Son of God, folks,
is eternal. He's always been the Son of God.
Isn't that what John 1 tells us? In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was with God. And then over in verse 14, the
Word was manifest in the flesh. That's Jesus Christ the Lord.
There's no doubt about it, is it? He's always been there. He just didn't have a body to
die with. It says in Hebrews chapter 10, I think verse 5, Wherefore, when
he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering
thou wouldest not, but check this out, listen, but a body
thou hast prepared me. God had to prepare a body for
his son. Being put to death. Sin demands
death, and God had to become flesh that He might conquer death
for us, and that's exactly, exactly what He did. Hebrews 10 verses
4 and 5, it says, for it is not possible that the blood of bulls
and goats should take away sins. Wherefore, when he cometh into
the world, he sayeth, sacrifice and offering, thou wouldest not,
but a body hast thou prepared me. Over Romans 8 verse 36, as
it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long.
We are counted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these
things we are more than conquerors. through him that loved us. You
can't do it, but he has. Consider him. Jesus Christ is my assurance. I have no confidence in this
flesh. That means everything about this
flesh, feelings, thoughts, Even what I think is faith. That
poor man, who just does not feel like he
loves the Lord as much as he should, has no confidence in
his faith. That's alright. As long as you
have confidence in the one your faith is in. He's the one we
have confidence in. I can't trust anything of this.
You can't trust me. Our Lord is our assurance. Without
the death of our Savior, our sins would be ours to answer
for in the day of judgment. And that brings me to this, at
the very last part of our verse there in 1 Peter 3, verse 18,
but quickened by the Spirit. Turn over to Ephesians 2, if
you would. That word quickens, I love that word. And I love
to tell people what it means. It means made alive. Now, think about that, made alive. If you need to be made alive,
you had to be what? Dead. I don't know about you,
but that just became so clear the first time I heard the Gospel.
I was sitting over in the side of the pews next to my sister-in-law,
Shirley, who punched me in the side. She goes, look at you.
I said, what? She goes, you're sitting on the
edge of your chair. What's going on with this? I didn't come to
church to hear anything. I came to cry on my brother's
shoulder. I was struggling with the point of my life. But the
Lord brought me there to hear His Word preached. Whosoever
calleth upon the Lord shall be saved." But how are you going
to call on somebody you've never heard? I heard. I heard. And when I heard about Quickened,
I said, you know, he's right. I couldn't see that before. That song, Amazing Grace, for
the first time in my life, I cried. I literally couldn't sing the
song for about a year without crying. I was dead in trespasses
and sin and the Lord made it very clear by showing me himself. That's what happened to Paul.
Paul saw the glory of God and blinded him for all that time
until the prophet spoke to him. Look here at verse 1-7 of chapter
2. I'll be just another moment,
not too long. And you hath he quickened who were dead in trespasses
and sin, there you go, quickened, gave life, made alive. Where
in times past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit
that now worketh in the children of disobedience, there's John
Reeves, That was me. I could see it clearly as can
be. Amazing grace! Once I was blind, but now I see.
Look at verse 3. Among whom also we all had our
conversation, in times past, in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling
the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature
the children of wrath, even as others, but God. Isn't that wonderful
words right there? But God, who is rich in mercy,
for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were
dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ. by grace you're saved, and hath
raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places
in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the
exceeding riches of His grace and His kindness towards us through
Christ Jesus. There's a young man who recently
began attending services over the internet. I've got a little
bit of a following on what we call Zoom. I have the honor and
the privilege to preach to some folks that don't have a church
anywhere near them. I keep telling them to move to
Rescue, but nobody wants to move to California for some reason.
I don't know why. I'm sure you'll want to tell
me later. But he's new. He's a babe in Christ. More so,
you remember when you were. And he was raised in religion
where people would say, you know, if you just turn yourself over
to Christ, if you just give up your heart, invite Christ to
come into your heart, if you'll just do this, and then they'll
tell you after that, well, if you'll just get in the waters
of baptism, it'll get better. If you'll just help the poor,
it'll get better. He said, that's what I grew up
in. I thought when I became saved,
things were going to get better. But it's not. It's getting worse. I said, awesome. What do you mean awesome, dad?
Oops, I gave away who it was, granddad. What do you mean, grandpa? Why is that awesome? It's awesome
because the Lord Jesus Christ is magnifying His grace. You
see, when we see our sin, and I know this more now than ever,
because I spend five days a week speaking with my pastor who's
84 years old, 83 years old, something like that, who's been around a long time,
And I listen to him talk about how much more today he sees the
sin in himself than he did 40 some odd years ago when he first
came to know the Lord. And here's what it does. It magnifies
God's grace and love to us. Consider Him. Consider the One
who loved us and gave Himself for us. the greatness, the wonder
of his magnificent grace in loving those who just don't deserve
it. Sometimes I just hate paper. I'm going to get there we go.
Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, redeemed us unto God the Father. And the
proof the proof of that payment was adequate is exactly what
I brought before those dear folks on Sunday. The payment was sufficient. And that proof of that was the
resurrection from the death of our Savior. God accepted the
sacrifice of the spotless lamb of God. It says in Ephesians
chapter one. Verse six. To the praise of the
glory of his grace. We're in. We're in because of
the glory of his grace. He hath made us accepted in the
Beloved. Are you troubled in this world?
Are you struggling with your faith? Consider Him. If He gave Himself
for you, could you imagine Him not giving you all things? Isn't
that what He says in Romans chapter 8? He that spared not His Son, but
gave Him up for us, how shall He not give us all things? Let's close with Hebrews chapter
9. Hebrews chapter 9. Two verses. In Hebrews chapter 9, in verse
24, For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with
hands, which are the figures of the true, but into heaven
itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us. Now look at verse 28. So Christ
was once offered to bear the sins of many, and unto them that
look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto
salvation. Why did the Lord of glory have
to go to the cross? Because of his love for all those
that the father had given him. Because Christ Jesus is God in
the flesh, he shall lose none. And I love to close with these
words. To God be the glory. Great things he has done. Brother Mark.
