In his sermon "Things of Salvation," Daniel Parks explores the multifaceted nature of salvation as revealed in Scripture, particularly focusing on Psalm 68:19-20. The main theological topic centers on God as the God of salvation, emphasizing both His initiative and provision for deliverance. Parks articulates key points, including the significance of understanding salvation as a gift from God, the importance of looking to Christ for salvation, and the various biblical symbols representing salvation, such as the tower, cup, and well. Scripture references include 2 Samuel 22:51, Isaiah 12:3, and Luke 1:69, which collectively illustrate the breadth of God's salvific work. The practical significance is the call for listeners to recognize and embrace God as their own personal Savior, assuring them of the daily benefits and profound blessings connected with true faith.

Good evening. I invite your attention to the
68th Psalm, Psalm number 68. My text will be found in verses
19 and 20. God willing, we will look at
the subject of things of salvation. When I first began my ministry in the 1970s, I had a strong,
exhausted concordance. It was a voluminous book, pages
of roughly eight and a half by eleven. It's about four inches
thick. It sat on top of my desk. was
opened multiple times every day. And I wore it out and bought
another one. Exhaustive concordance. Every
word in God's Word is there. You want to find out the word
salvation? You look it up. Alphabetical
order. There it is. Every instance of the word salvation. Should you be interested and
want to find out how many times the article, the, is in the scriptures,
Strong will show you. Every instance will be listed.
Strong's exhaustive concordance, what a valuable tool it was. And then I purchased a computer when they were finally invented. And with the computer came Bible
software. With Bible software came concordances
in the computer. And I have not used the Strong's
concordance as far as the volume or the book is concerned now
for years. I've got it in my computer. I've
got it in my cell phone. And it's great because not only
can I search for words, I can search for strings of words. And so a few weeks ago, I'm reading
here in Psalm number 68, and I read about the God of salvation. And that phrase struck me, of
salvation. So with my Bible app, I can now
find out every time the phrase of salvation is found in the
scriptures what a marvel it is to live in this day and age.
And I got to looking at all these different things that are associated
with salvation. We're going to look at them tonight,
about a baker's dozen. I'm not going to keep you long.
But about a baker's dozen of these things of salvation. And
we'll begin in Psalm number 68. Looking in verses 19 and 20,
we read, Blessed be the Lord who daily loads us with benefits. Every day. He daily loads us
with benefits. It is as though the Lord says,
bring your wagon to my storehouse and just fill it up. and bring
it back again tomorrow, every day. He daily loads us with benefits. Note the phrase, the God of our
salvation. Then that word Selah probably
means pause and think about that. The God of our salvation, pause
and think about that. And then we read Our God is the
God of salvation and to God the Lord belong escapes from death. There it is again, the God of
salvation. That's the first thing I want
you to see tonight, the God of salvation. The prophet Jonah
tells us that salvation is of Jehovah. Well, if salvation be
of Jehovah and be of him and of him alone, then he is the
God of salvation. He is the God of salvation. Repeatedly we read that He is
the God of my salvation. Repeatedly we read He is the
God of our salvation and He is the only God who says look to
me and be saved all you ends of the earth for I am God and
there is none else. That's Jesus Christ speaking.
God speaks to us as the God of our salvation in the person of
his son, Jesus Christ, who says, look to me. That's all it takes. A look. Look to me. What happens? Be saved. Who can do it? All
you ends of the earth. Why should we? I am God and there
is none else. The God of salvation. He is the God of salvation in
every place. Ahab was king of Israel and a
wicked man he was. Why God would ever stoop to help
Ahab, I cannot understand. But when King Ben-Hadad of Syria
said, I'm going down to take Ahab and beat them in battle,
God sent a savior. sent a prophet to him. He says,
go out and meet him. Ahab says, I got no army. Go
on out. He went out. About 230 young
men and leading the armies of Israel and it's just a small
army and they meet on the mountain and King Ben-Hadad of Syria is
defeated and goes home. The God of salvation saved Israel
on that mountain. So King Ben-Hadad of Syria says,
OK, their god is the god of the mountain. We will go and bite
them in the belly. So he did. He came back and engaged
them in battle. And the scriptures say that the
army of Syria covered the whole countryside. And the army of
Israel was like two little flocks of goats amongst them. And the
Lord saved Israel again. He not only is the God of salvation
on the mountain, but also the God of salvation in the valley.
He is the God of salvation on St. Croix as much as He is in
Sellersburg, Indiana. He is the God of salvation on
all seven continents and in all the islands of the seven seas.
When we have gathered in heaven's glory, at that final day and
look, we're all going to point to Jesus Christ and say He's
the God of our salvation and the only one, the God of salvation. But is He your God of salvation? He's not everyone's God of salvation. Only of those who obey that word
to look to Me. If you look to Him, You know
Him as the God of my salvation. There is no greater comfort in
this life than knowing that He is the God of my salvation. Number
two, the Tower of Salvation. 2 Samuel 22, verse 51, we read,
Jehovah is the Tower of Salvation. Proverbs 18.10 says the name
of Jehovah is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are
saved." A tower, a tower, a tower of salvation. Well, a tower is
only as good as its foundation. A lighthouse has to be close
to the ocean. If it is to warn the ships of
the shoals and of the rocky shores, it has to be close to the ocean.
But you better not build it on the sand. or it won't last long. No, you find some place away
from the beach, some rock, some place you can build it because
a tower is only as good as its foundation. And a tower is only
as good as its door. You build a tower for your salvation
and you forget to put the door on it, the enemy follows you
right on in. Well, the foundation of this
tower of salvation is Jesus Christ. The door of this tower of salvation
is Jesus Christ and a tower of salvation is only as good as
the strength of its walls. Jehovah is a strong tower. Satan has come with his battering
rams now for millennia and the tower still stands. He has beat
upon that door many times and the door is still standing. And
a tower of salvation is Only as good as its height. Satan's
ladders cannot scale it. The ladders of our enemy cannot
scale this wall of salvation. I say to you that if you run
to this tower of salvation, come through, cross the door, get
up into the tower, Satan's never going to touch you. He's never
going to touch you. He catches you out in the open,
you're in trouble. But he hurts no one. who is in
the tower of salvation. Number three, the cup of salvation. Psalm 116 verse 13. The psalmist says, I will take
up the cup of salvation. I will take up the cup. We've
got a God of salvation. We have a tower of salvation.
Here we have a cup of salvation. Now let me tell you about this
cup of salvation. When I was your pastor, in Louisville. On a certain Lord's
Day morning, I concluded my message and stepped out of the pulpit
and stood in front of the table, in front of the pulpit, the Lord's
table, and we prepared to observe the Lord's Supper. In the congregation
that day was a certain man who had a very serious speech impediment. But he had begun attending the
worship services and had been there for quite a few weeks,
faithfully coming to hear the Word. And that Lord's Day morning,
I stepped out of the pulpit in front of the table, and I believe
we were to maybe sing a hymn and then observe the Lord's Supper.
And while it's quiet and we're finding the location of the hymn,
that man, the visitor, who had been coming for quite a few weeks,
who had that very serious speech impediment, stood up and walked
down the aisle toward me. And I was, you know, somewhat
taken aback, did not know what this, you know, what was going
on, but he come down to the front and he handed to me a little
piece of paper. I wish I'd kept it, but it was
just a little piece of paper, but on it he had written. I will
take the cup of salvation. Now as I said, he had difficulty
conversing. But I looked at him and I said,
Are you professing your faith in Jesus Christ? And he said,
He was. And I said, Then you shall take
the cup of salvation and you'll take this cup as well. He was
baptized and followed the Lord in his confession of faith and
partook of the cup of the communion of the blood of Christ as well.
a cup of salvation. I'm delighted when people decide
to take a cup of salvation. I'm delighted when people find
that they want this salvation that is in the Lord's cup and
I will take the cup of salvation. What a glorious testimony is
that. What is in this cup of salvation? Every libation that you need
for the good of your soul. In the cup of salvation you will
find the water of life, clear as crystal flowing from God's
throne, a river of it. You'll find the water of life
in this cup of salvation that gives life and sustains life. In this cup of salvation you
will find the sincere milk of the Word that you may grow in
the grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. In this cup
of salvation You will find that special wine that makes Mary
the heart of man. In this cup of salvation, you
will find that blood of the new covenant that Jesus Christ shed.
He himself declared, this is my cup, my blood of the new covenant
shed for the remission of the sins of many. Take this cup of
salvation and drink it. You will find salvation for your
soul, forgiveness of your sins. Here is a mixed drink. that has
everything your soul needs. Here is redemption from your
bondage. Here is righteousness through
justification to make you blameless before God. Here is holiness
through sanctification to make you consecrated unto God and
separated from the world. Here is forgiveness and remission
of sins. Here is union with Christ. Here is everything your soul
needs. And all you have to do is say,
I will take it and I will drink it. That's all you have to do.
That's all. I will take the cup of salvation. We can take the cup of salvation
because Christ took up the cup of damnation. On the night before he died,
he prays in deep agony in Gethsemane in such agony that he sweat,
as it were, great drops of blood. He was facing the worst ordeal
he would ever know. He said to his father, Father,
if it be possible, take this cup from me. Take it from me.
Then he said, nevertheless, not my will, but yours be done."
It was a cup of damnation. Jesus Christ in drinking this
cup was about to become sin. Jesus Christ in drinking this
cup was about to suffer the hell and the damnation and the wrath
of God that every one of His people deserves. Oh, it was a
big cup. It was a cup containing God's
wrath and damnation and His anger against sin, against the sins
of every one of His elect. Jesus went to His cross in order
to drink that cup. At high noon, God plunged the
world into darkness. because there was a transaction
that the world was not to save. It would be a transaction between
God and His Son, Jesus Christ, on that cross. God gave to Jesus
Christ a cup of damnation. That big cup of damnation. That
cup that had the wrath of God against all His elect and Jesus
took it to His lips and for three hours He drank it for three hours. For three hours, he suffers God's
wrath. With every sip of that cup, his
soul has died, dying in the place instead of God's people. Three
hours after he began drinking that cup, he turned it up. He
drained the very last dregs, and he said, it is finished. It is finished. Mr. Spurgeon, in preaching on that
text, describes what Jesus Christ has done when he says, with one
tremendous draft of love, he drank damnation dry. And he did. He drank damnation
dry. And because he drank damnation
dry for his people, he now says, here's my cup of salvation. No
more damnation for you. It's a cup of salvation. Now
come and drink it. Come and drink it. All you have
to do is say, I will take the cup of salvation, believe in
Jesus Christ. But I must tell you that if you
will not take this cup of salvation, there is another cup of which
you will take. In the revelation of Jesus Christ,
we read of those who refuse to believe in Jesus Christ and we
find these words that God says, I will take the fierce, the wine
of my fierce anger and make them drink from the cup of my indignation. Think about it. Think about when
God becomes indignant. Think about it. Think about those
who refuse to believe in Jesus Christ. Think about God taking
the wine of his fierce wrath and pouring it into a cup of
indignation that says, this is yours, drink it, dregs and all.
I pray none of you are of that sort. I pray none of you are.
There is a cup of salvation ready for you right now. All you have
to do is say, I'll drink it every drop. And once you start drinking,
you'll want every drop in it. the cup of salvation. Number
four, the wells of salvation. Isaiah 12 verse 3, with joy you
will draw water from the wells of salvation. Wells, plural. There's one on St. Croix, there's
one in Sellersburg. There are wells of salvation.
A well. They're not really all that consequential,
are they? I had a man come and dig a well
on a piece of property that we bought. It didn't take him long. He had this big machine. It's less than a foot in diameter. He just pounds down. He spends
a day or two. Then he puts a casing around
it. Less than a couple of days. I
got a well. Not much to it. Yeah, but it
was not that way in biblical times before we had those big
machines. You ever heard of Jacob's well?
Jacob's well. Jesus went there to get a drink
one day. 135 feet deep. Dug by hand. through rock and alluvial soil,
seven and a half feet in diameter, and put with masonry all the
way around. How many years did that take?
Now do you see why they fought battles over wells? A well is
a thing of great consequence when it is of salvation, and
the Lord's got them all over the place. Wherever there is
a thirsty soul, there is a well of salvation. Anybody thirsty
here tonight? Anybody thirsty for this salvation?
What did you hear read a little earlier? O ye that are thirsty,
come to the waters, wells of salvation. Our Lord has dug every
one of them, and Jesus Christ has filled them, the wells of
salvation. Number five, the day of salvation. Isaiah 49, verse 8. Jehovah told
Christ, in the day of salvation I have helped you. Isaiah 49,
8, the day of salvation. In the day of salvation I have
helped you. That day of salvation is this
day. That day of salvation began about 2,000 years ago with the
incarnation of Jesus Christ. It is a day of salvation. In
the day of salvation, I have helped you. You do not have another
day of which you have any certainty of enjoying. Some may say, I'll be saved tomorrow. How do you know? Years ago, I
went to the island of Jamaica and preached and had been going
there to this same place every year for a few years, and there
was a certain lady who came every year to hear me preach. She'd
come hear me preach, then walk out of the church building and
go back to her old sinful ways. After a worship service and after
I'd preached one night, As I was standing by the door, I felt
led to ask her about her soul. And I asked her, I go, why have
you not believed? She said, Preacher, when you
come back next year, I will be a believer. And I said, no, that's
not good enough. I do not know that I'm coming
back next year. You do not know you will be here
next year. We have no assurance of even
tomorrow. Many who will lay their head
on their pillow this night will be found in the mortuary in the
morning. You have no assurance. Now is
the day of salvation. Don't wait until tomorrow. You
do not know you're going to get it. Scripture no worse says tomorrow
is the day of salvation. It is now. It is now. If you
have never believed this gospel of Jesus Christ, do so right
this minute, right this minute. Number six, the helmet of salvation,
Isaiah 59, 17. Christ put a helmet of salvation
on his head. A helmet served two purposes
for a soldier. First, it protected his head.
Your head must have protection. Second, it served as an ornament
in a parade. So the soldier gets his helmet. It's issued to him when he enlists. You can spot a new recruit. He's
got a nice looking shiny helmet. You can spot an old soldier. He's got nicks and cracks in
his helmet. And it serves as his ornament
when he goes to a parade. I played football in high school.
And at the beginning of the year, we were issued a helmet. Ours
was maroon in color with gold trim. And we would take that
helmet, and you want to be ready for a Friday night game, and
so you take wax and you make it shine. You make it look real
good. Protects your head. Yeah, we
have cracked a few skulls before. On a football field, two players
going up against each other, helmet to helmet. And then at
the end of the year, when the season is over, we start comparing
helmets. We take our helmets down and
we look at them and here's a man and he was given the maroon helmet
at the beginning of the year and he says, ah, but look at
this. I've got blue paint on mine. Another one says, And I
have green paint on mine, and that's by hitting the helmet
of another player. And so it was with a soldier
in ancient times. When he would go to a parade,
he'd take his helmet, and oh, he would shine it up. But look
at that old soldier. He's going to be going to his
pension soon, but he's going to go for one last parade and
look at him. Look at my helmet. Yep. One of
my enemies hit me right here with his mace, and another one
caught me with his sword here, and right there I stomped a spear.
He's got all the marks on it. It's a helmet of salvation that
we wear as well. It protects our head, and it
serves as our ornament when we stand before our Lord. Hey Lord,
look, your enemies came against me, but look at my helmet of
salvation. through your salvation I have
stopped the enemy's mace, I have stopped his weapons, I have stopped
his swords and his spears. Are you wearing that helmet of
salvation or is your head unprotected? Number seven, oh wait, here we
go. Number seven, the garments of
salvation. Isaiah 61 verse 10, Jehovah has
clothed me with the garments of salvation. Garments. Now notice,
garments. of salvation, the plural. What are they? Well, when the
Lord came to me, I was wearing a garment, old filthy rags. We are all as an unclean thing
and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags or menstruous
cloths. We are filthy, dripping, with
the blood of our depravity. Filthy rags. He came to me like
He comes to all of His people and He takes away those filthy
rags we wear. He gives to His people a garment
of righteousness. We are clothed in Christ. He
gives to us a robe of righteousness. He gives to us the garments of
salvation. He gives to us the garments of
praise for the spirit of heaviness. Heaviness, sorrow and grief was
a garment we wore when the Lord put us under conviction. And
our Lord comes and takes it from us and he says, here is a garment
of praise and we wear it. The garments of salvation, a
robe of righteousness, the righteousness of Christ imputed to believers
and The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Sandals
on the feet and a ring on the hand. All the garments of salvation. Number eight, the chariots of
salvation. Habakkuk 3 verses 8 and 13. Oh,
Jehovah, you rode on your horses, your chariots of salvation. You
went forth for the salvation of your people, for salvation
with your anointed." I love that phrase, with your anointed. And the allusion here is to Israel
at the Red Sea. They had come out of Egypt with
a high hand. The Egyptians were glad to see
them go. And then Ferio had a change of
heart. Hey, wait a minute. Who's going to plant our crops
now that the Israelites are gone? Who's going to build our cities
now that the slaves have been emancipated? Get my chariots! And they get them, and they come
after Israel. Israel has no chariots. They
got some carts, you know, with, you know, whatever belongings
they could come out of Egypt carrying, and they look, and
lo and behold, someone says, here comes Pharaoh. He has all
his chariots, and he does. And the children of Israel are
going forward, and they now have come into the point of a wedge.
With the mountains here, they cannot cross. The Red Sea here,
they cannot swim. What will they do? Moses said,
stand still and see the salvation of Jehovah. And here he comes. He's riding his chariots. He's got his horses and he's
riding his chariots. And in the lead chariot is Jehovah
with his anointed right beside him. And here they come. This
is Jehovah and Jesus Christ riding down for Israel. And there is
Pharaoh with his chariots pursuing them. And Jehovah says, put the
cloud over him so he cannot see. And the cloud comes over the
army of Egypt. What can they do? The only thing
they can do is go to sleep. It's nighttime. Daylight for
Israel. Stand still and see what Jehovah
will do. Here He comes on His chariots,
the chariots of salvation. Son, blow with your wind. And
the sun blows with this wind and their land appears as the
water begins to part. There's the land in the bottom
of the Red Sea. Blow it until it's dry. And the
wind blows until there's dry land. Moses, bring them through. And the chariots of salvation
lead the children of Israel right through the Red Sea on dry ground. Not a toe got wet. And they all get through. And then Jehovah says, let the
cloud up. Let Pharaoh see what I have done in the salvation
of my people. And the cloud rises. It's daylight
for Egypt now. And Pharaoh says, Aha! They get
it. So can we. All my chariots pursue
them through the Red Sea. We'll go through the same path
they went. And Jehovah in His chariots of
salvation enticed Egypt into the middle of the Red Sea. And
then He said, come back in waters. And they came in and not a chariot
of Pharaoh survived. But there they are, the chariots
of salvation. Jehovah and His Son riding and
coming for His people. And I say to you, He still rides
chariots of salvation today. Sinners in need of salvation
crying out for Him. Here He comes in His chariots
of salvation. He'll come riding chariots tonight
if you cry unto Him. Number nine, the horn of salvation,
Luke chapter 1 verse 69 and 71. God has raised up a horn of salvation
for us in the house of this serpent, David, that we should be saved
from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us. A horn
is a symbol of strength. A symbol of strength. Now look
at that rhinoceros. Oh, he's big. And got a very
low center of gravity and he can run fast. And it's not going to lick you
to death when he gets up to you. He's got a horn. He's got a horn. He's going to hit you with that
horn. And it is a horn of destruction. Look at that bull. Have you seen
the pictures of bulls chasing people through streets? Why people
do that in the world, I have no idea. I've seen a few of those
people who were fools enough to get caught by the horns of
a bull and get tossed to here and there. Horns of destruction. Well, here is a horn of salvation.
It is a strong salvation. And this is what Jesus Christ
is to His people. We know Him as my God, my strength
in whom I will trust, the horn of my salvation. It's a strong
salvation, folks. It is a strong salvation, and
there is the knowledge of salvation. That's number 10, Luke 1, 77.
John the Baptist and all of the gospel preachers are sent by
God to give the knowledge of salvation. All right, folks,
we've got a few hundred churches around us, and in every one of
them tonight or on the Lord's Day or whatever day they're meeting,
Preachers are giving out information, knowledge of this and knowledge
of that. Here is a preacher giving knowledge
of how to keep the law and how to obtain a legal righteousness. Here's a preacher talking about
how to get baptized and which baptism is the best. Here's a
preacher bragging about his church. He's giving the knowledge of
which church, you know, you should be following. And here's a preacher
giving knowledge about how to feel good about yourself. Listen
folks, I don't care what you want to hear, you can find a
preacher giving knowledge of it. But how seldom will you find
one giving the knowledge of salvation. How seldom will you find a preacher
standing before you and talking about your need of being saved,
your need of salvation. How many preachers will you find
talking about the only one who can save you, the only savior
of sinners? That's what God's preachers do. You want to know how to be successful
in this life and be rich? Don't ask me. I don't know. I do not know. I can show you
how to be happy with what you have, but how to be rich? No, that's going to have to be
somebody else. How to do this and how to be successful, I know
not much about that at all. I don't suppose anybody considers
me to be successful in this world. I may be the happiest man I know,
but I am not known as being successful, rich, and famous. But if you
want to know how to be saved, if you want to know the knowledge
of the Savior, If you want to know how to be happy and blissful
for all eternity, I can tell you. I can tell you that any
one of God's preachers can give you the knowledge of salvation.
It is a knowledge of salvation that begins not only now, continues
for all eternity. And if you'll listen to me, I'll
tell you how. All you have to do is believe.
Believe in Jesus Christ and you have the knowledge of salvation.
You will know you're saved. You will know your Savior. Number
11, The Way of Salvation, Acts 16, 17. Now I must set the background
for this. Paul and Silas are in Philippi
of Macedonia, the first preachers to go to Europe. They have gone
to Philippi of Macedonia. And the Lord does some remarkable
things through their ministry in that place. In Philippi of
Macedonia are some men practicing witchcraft. They have a certain
young woman who has a python spirit. It's a demonic spirit. And she, this demon-possessed
girl, is following Paul and Silas through town, and she is saying,
these men are the servants of God Most High who proclaim the
way of salvation. Now, what she said was true,
but her motive was wrong. They were the servants of God.
They were declaring the way of salvation. But she's doing it
for an ulterior motive. She's trying to make her bosses
look good. Be very careful when enemies
of the gospel speak highly of you. Be very careful. I've had men come and say to
me, oh, preacher, I believe what you believe. Well, yeah, but
why don't you preach it? Well, you know, I believe it. You're preaching the truth. Well,
why don't you preach it? It's not profitable. It's not
profitable. And here is this girl and she's
bringing profit to her master. and she's falling around. These
are the servants of the Most High God and they proclaim to
us the way of salvation. Paul turned around in his very
vexed and he says to the demon, come out! And the demon came
out and she is of no longer any use to her masters. But now,
She had said the truth. She had said the truth. Jesus
Christ is the way of salvation. And I'm going to tell you that
tonight, but my motive is not ulterior. My motive is sincere. My motive is concern for your
soul. A servant of the Most High God
would have you to know Jesus Christ is the way of salvation. The only way. The way of salvation. Will you walk in Him? Number 12, the gospel of your
salvation. In Ephesians 1, verse 13, in
Him you also trusted after you heard the word of truth, the
gospel of your salvation. The gospel. And what that word
gospel means, good news. Good news. I get news from two sources every
day. I suppose you're like me, you
know, you can watch the television, you can listen to the radio,
you can visit websites nowadays, and what do you get? Bad news. Bad news. It's bad news. I don't
care what continent it is, it's bad news. Don't care what time
of the day it is, it's bad news. You're going to hear bad news
at noon. If you turn it back on at midnight,
it's going to be bad news and a rehashing of the same. Bad
news, bad news, bad news. And then once a day I turn on
this. Once a day I open this, or at
least once a day, multiple times, and every time it's good news.
The good news, the gospel of your salvation. Well, this world's
full of bad news. If that's all you want, you won't
be able to get enough of it. When you've had all you can take,
there's still more coming if you'll have it. If you want some good news, I
got it. I do, I surely do. Here is good
news for sinners. The good news is, there is salvation
in Jesus Christ. Will you believe it? And then
13th and last, a proof of salvation. A proof of salvation. Philippians
1 verses 27 and 28, Paul has written, let your conduct be
worthy of the gospel of Christ. Huh, that's a tall order. Let
your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether
I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that
you may stand fast in one spirit, with one mind, striving together
for the faith of the gospel, and not in any way terrified
by your adversaries. which is to them a proof of perdition,
but to you of salvation, and that from God." You know, bad things are going
to happen to God's people. All kinds of bad things. This
world is full of sorrow, heartache, grief. Some of it comes from the enemy. Some of it comes from God as
a trial and a test of your faith. That which comes from Satan is
intended to make you leave your faith and to follow him. When you stand before your enemy
and you stand unflinchingly before your enemy, it is a proof of
your salvation. a proof of your salvation. Anybody
can be a Christian on a fair weather day. Anybody can. Most people who claim to be Christians
are exactly that, fair weather Christians. Things go well, I'm
a Christian. And then comes trouble, and most
of them will go their own way some other way. When God's children
stand firm in the face of all that comes their way, it is a
proof of salvation, and that from God. Things of salvation,
that's a baker's dozen of them. I could go on, but I've kept
you long enough. I hope this salvation is yours.
I hope it is. I hope that before You walk out
that door this night. I hope that you know for a certainty
that you have led to the tower of salvation. You have drunk
from the wells of salvation. You have a proof of your salvation. You have the knowledge of your
salvation. You are wearing the helmet of
salvation. This has become for you the day
of salvation. And you can look to God and say,
you daily load me with benefits and you are the God of my salvation. Don't walk out that door until
you know that. Don't walk out that door until
you know Him. That's the God of your salvation. Yes?
