Paul refers to the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ as “my gospel” because it was the gospel committed to his trust and the gospel he preached. Calling it “my gospel,” as he did in three places (Romans 2:16; 16:25; 2 Timothy 2:8), Paul distinguished it from the false gospels of the countless false prophets of his day.
Without question, there is only one true gospel. Every other gospel is a false gospel. Those who preach a false gospel are false prophets; and those who believe a false gospel are yet lost, under the wrath and curse of God (Read Galatians 1:6-8). Serious as that charge is, it cannot be ignored or denied.
