What I want to talk about by
the grace of God is, what Roland was talking about, the only true
and living God, the true Savior of His people, the Lord Jesus
Christ. So what I want to know, I want
to know the Lord Jesus Christ in the truth, don't you, in truth
of Holy Scripture. We're not here to talk about
people, but there are so many people. that don't know Christ
in their heart that really think they do, really think they know
Christ. But the only way we can know
Christ is through His taught and preached Word, His spiritual
revealed Word. And that's by God's grace to
undeserving hearts, to undeserving people. God must give us a heart
and God must speak to us in truth. And the way he does that is through
his gospel, through his word, ain't it? Through his word. And the scripture I want to look
at is in whom you also trusted after that you heard the word
of truth, which is the gospel of your salvation. So you can't
trust someone you don't know anymore and you can come back
from somewhere you haven't been, can you? We can't trust someone
we don't know. We must know Christ to trust
Him. You can't put your life in somebody's hand, can you?
But you don't know the truth about them. You don't know anything
about them. You don't know what danger you
would be in by putting your life in their hands if you had to
depend on them to save your life. You don't know. If you don't
know what kind of person they are, they might just go ahead
and whatever the situation is and finish killing you. You know
what I mean? But we must know Christ in order
to trust Him. We must know the truth as it
is revealed in Holy Scripture, the Word of God concerning His
Son. Right? To know something about
Christ. And if we know God, if we know
anything about God, we know something about ourselves, don't we? And
there's nothing in us to commend us to God by nature, but everything
in us only condemns us. We are sinners by nature. There's
nothing that we can be or nothing that we can do of and in ourselves
to cause God to have favor with us. We can't do nothing in ourselves.
We're sin. We're sin. But by the grace of God when
He shows us who we are in the light of His holiness and causes
us to fall helpless and hopeless on our faces before God without
any trust or rest but all condemnation of in ourselves. You see that? We seek the mercy of God and
the only way that we can find the mercy and grace of God is
in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, the sufficient one, the
holy one of Israel, the substitute, the one who came and represented
in his life and in his death and shed his blood under the
wrath and penalty of God against the sinner to put away their
sins. See that? So abide by God's grace
in my heart. Look to Christ. In holiness,
in His holiness, God's holiness. And I despise myself and receive
Him as my all. In my heart I'm talking about.
He is my Lord. You see that? We must know Him
in truth. In whom you trusted. You must
know Him in truth before you can trust Him. After that, you
heard the Word of Truth. You see that? How do you know
Christ? How do I know Christ? If I know Christ, it has to be
through the Word of Truth. The revealed Word of Truth. He
has to be revealed through the Word. It is who the Word says
He is and what the Word says about Him. Who is Christ? He is Lord and Savior of His
people. That is who He is. How do we
know that? His Word tells us that. We see that in His Word. This
is the Word of God Himself as He instructs by His Holy Spirit. Holy men of God were moved by
the Holy Ghost wanted to write these God wrote through men.
And he wrote he revealed to us who we
are and he reveals to us by the grace of God who Christ is as
our substitute and representative. So in the word of truth is where
we see who we are and who Christ is saying it's in God's truth. The truth says about men, there
is none good, no, not one. There's none that understandeth.
There's none that seeketh after God. They're together become
unprofitable. They've all gone out of the way. There's none
that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre.
See, that's who we are by nature. The poison of wrath is under
their lips. With their tongue they choose deceit. Whose mouth
is full of cursing and bitterness. Destruction and misery is in
their way. The way of peace they have not known. See that? They can't know that by nature.
But Christ says, I am the way, the truth, and the life. I'm
the peace of God towards men. God can have peace through me
by His wrath being satisfied on me. See that? So, in whom
you trust after that you've heard the word of truth. And what is
the word of truth? The word of truth is truth. It's
gospel. Gospel means, that's a fact.
That can't be doubted. It's truth, right? Well, we have
all different denominations and organizations preaching denominations,
don't we? And preaching, you know, it don't
matter where you go or what you hear, as long as you belong to
a church. That ain't what the Word of God
says. These man-made churches and so on and so forth don't
get it with God. You must hear the Word of Truth.
Wherever you hear the Word of Truth, that's where you go. The
church ain't going to save you. The place ain't going to save
you. But wherever you hear the Word of Truth, God might be pleased
to save me through His Gospel. See that? The Word of Truth,
which is the only thing that can work grace in my heart to
faith in Christ, is the Word of Truth. God, by His power and
Word, in the Word of Truth, is the Gospel. That's God's gospel
concerning His Son toward the hearts of His people. It's not
what we trust, it's whom. You see that? We trust in a person
who became us, the Lord Jesus Christ, God incarnate in human
flesh, who served God on our behalf and suffered under the
penalty of God against sin, once and for all, by the sacrifice
of Himself. So it's who you trust. It's who
you trust. The object of all truth-saving
faith is a whom. Whom. In whom you also trust. Do you see that? He's the object
of true faith, right? Faith is the gift of God, yes.
But Christ said, I am the way. Do you see that? I am the truth. I am the life. No man cometh
unto the Father but by me." Well, you say, well, I believe in the
Lord Jesus Christ. Well, who is Christ? You see,
we must know who someone is before we can trust them and believe
on them and rest in them, don't we? So who is Christ? Who is He in whom you trust Him? So God's people are often wrongfully
accused, ain't they? of saying to sinners that you
must obtain a certain degree of theological knowledge. That's
not what I'm saying. Before you can be saved, there's
not anything that can be any farther from the truth than this.
You must know the Lord Jesus Christ in truth. That's what
I'm saying. I must know Him in truth. If
I don't know Him in truth, I don't know Him. Well, what about those
people that preaches this or that or this or that? Is it true?
Is it the Word of God? If it is, it's truth. If it's
not, it's not. Do you see that? Christ said,
I'm the way, I'm the truth, I'm the life. He that looks to me
and rests in me and trusts in me for his all is my son. Do you see that? Those that don't
look to me, those that never come to faith in me, those that
never rest in me, I don't know them. I don't know them. He's
the object of true faith. You see what I'm saying? Faith
is the gift of God. It's not of works lest any man
should boast, but we are His workmanship created in Christ
Jesus unto good works. We've been made new creatures
in Christ, but we look to Christ. We don't look at what we do.
We look to Christ. the author and finisher of our
faith. We rest in Him by the grace of
God. It's whom you trust. It's not what you trust. It's
whom you trust it in. If you trust Him in truth, you
see that, for who He really is in your heart, then you're trusting
Him in the right one. So that's where we're often wrongfully
accused. Well, you say, well, they're
just one religion. No, that's not what I'm saying.
I'm saying there's one salvation. And whoever's preaching the truth
as revealed in Holy Scripture about Christ and in Christ is
preaching the truth. There's only one salvation and
that's of the Lord. It's in Christ. So nothing can
be farther than the truth. And to say that is to say that
you're telling people what you want them to know and so on and
so on. No, I'm not telling you what I want you to know. I'm
not telling myself what I by nature want to know. I'm looking
at the Word of God and seeing what the Word of God says. So
those that accuse people wrongfully that's preaching the Gospel,
they either don't understand the Word of God, they don't understand
the plain language of Holy Scripture, or they don't know anything about
it. They don't know nothing. We don't suggest that a person
has to know the right doctrine to be saved. Doctrine don't save
you. Doctrines. But he must know the right Savior. I must know the right Savior
or I can't be saved. You're saved by grace through
faith. And that's not itself. It's a gift of God. Not a work
lest any man should boast. For you're His workmanship. You're
new creatures in Christ Jesus when you're saved. You see that?
You're a new creation. You look to Christ. You rest
in Christ. You trust Christ. You love Christ. Your desire
is unto the Lord. See that? Faith is just the substance of
our whole being. That's the substance. We can't
be saved without faith, can we? We can't know God without faith.
So to have faith is to know the truth. True faith is to know
the truth about God. To know the truth about His Son.
Who he is and what he did and all this, you know, as our Savior
and substitute. In whom you also trusted after
that you heard the word of truth. You see that? You can't trust
someone without hearing and knowing about them. You see that? When
God takes His gospel and places it in our heart by His grace
to know Christ, you know the truth about Christ. You know
Him in truth. It's in whom? It's the person
of Christ. who became and represented us,
in whom also after that you believe, you were sealed. When the Holy
Spirit works grace in your heart and brings you to a knowledge
of Christ, makes you a new creature, you're sealed. You have true
saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by the grace of God and
you rest in Christ and you're sealed. You can't find anything
else to rest in. You don't want anything else
to rest in. You rest only in the Lord Jesus Christ. as your
substitute and sacrifice before God. That's it. He's our Savior.
He saved us. He didn't make salvation possible
or acceptable, but He actually saved His people. All them that
look to Him by God's grace, they are saved in the Lord Jesus Christ. They look to His shed blood and
righteousness. They rest in Him. They have access
to God as rolling sand through Him. He is God, our Savior. You see that? He's God, our Savior.
Paul said in 1 Timothy 1, Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by
the commandment of God, our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, which
is our hope. See? By the commandment of God. He's an apostle by God's commandment
and the Lord Jesus Christ, which is my hope, he said. So he said,
my hope is built on nothing less. If I have true faith, if God's
given me faith, my hope is not built on anything less than Jesus'
blood and His righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest
frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name. Completely lean on Jesus'
name. Nothing else do I lean on but
God's grace. It's in whom, ain't it? It's
whom you trust. It's not what you believe. It's
whom you trust. And to trust someone, you must
know who they are. You must know something about
them before you can trust them. So we insist, according to the
Word of God, that all those who know the Lord Jesus Christ are
taught of God. Right? They have to be taught
of God to have faith in Christ by the grace of God. See that? They shall all be taught of me.
And every man that hath heard and hath learned of the Father
goes to church, cometh unto me, you see, in whom you trusted. Every man that's heard and hath
learned of the Father comes to me, comes to Christ, rests in
Christ, trusts Christ, loves Christ, and seeks no other sacrifice. God's Son is enough for me, right,
for you? We're taught of God. Every man
that's taught of God, that's heard and have learned of the
Father, they go to Christ. They rest in Christ. They see
Christ as their Savior, as their substitute. They walk in truth. You shall know the truth, and
the truth shall make you free. What truth? The truth of God
as it is revealed in Holy Scripture concerning Himself and His Son. That's the truth of God. They
cannot be deceived. They cannot be deceived. Those
who know Christ in truth can't be deceived. They are nothing
and have nothing in themselves. But in Christ they are accepted. They can't be deceived from that,
can they? Not truly if they love Christ,
if they trust Him in their hearts. They are accepted of God. And the way they are accepted
is God is pleased with them. Not their nature. I'm not talking
about that. Their natural nature. But he's pleased with them in
Christ. Christ has put away sin. He's ascended back to the Father
and is set down. We have access to God through
Christ. We're accepted in the Beloved. Be not deceived. God is not mocked
whatsoever a man soweth. That shall he also reap. If he
sows to the flesh, he shall of the flesh reap corruption. But
if he sows to the heart, He shall of the heart reap life everlasting. What is it to sow to the heart?
It's the heart that God gives through knowledge of Christ.
They see Christ as their Savior and their Lord, don't they? They're
bowed to Christ and they rest in Christ. So those people who rest in Christ
by the grace of God are not deceived. They can't be deceived. They
can't be. There's a lot of things they
don't understand, but they can't be deceived. about their faith
in their Lord. They can't be deceived. 1 Corinthians 2, 15 and 16, But
he that is spiritual judge of all things, yet he himself is
judge of no man. For who have known the mind of
the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of
Christ. You see that? If you, by God's
grace, if I by God's grace, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and
look to Christ and rest and love Christ in the heart, then I have
the mind of Christ. He set me in Christ. You see
that? I'm not saved because I, but
I have the mind because He. You see that? He's revealed it
to me. 1 John 2 says, but you have an
unction from the Holy One. You see that? That's how He reveals
an act. From the Holy One. And you know all things. You
see that? You know. You know. How do you
know? You have an unction from the
Holy One. You know about the flesh, don't
you? And you know about the Spirit of God. The grace of God in Christ. You know these things. And you
can't be changed from that knowledge. If it's true knowledge in the
heart, you can't be changed from that. 1 John 2, 27 says, But the anointing
which you have received of Him abideth in you, and you need
not that any man teach you. See that? You don't need for
any man to teach you what's in your heart. Yes, God uses men
to speak His Word, and you're taught of God through His Word,
through men. But you're taught of God. God
taught you. He has revealed the truth to
your heart. He has taught you and you abide in Him. See that? 3 John 1 verse 4 says, I have
no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. Walk
in truth. What we are talking about is
the truth. It is in whom you see. No greater joy than for
you to know that For me to know that you walk in truth. That's
why He said that. My children walk in truth. The truth, Christ
said, I'm the way of the truth. The truth as it is revealed in
Holy Scripture concerning you and God's Son. That's who it is. 1 Corinthians 6, 9 says,
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom
of God? Well, what do I do? Do I say, I'm a righteous man?
My nature is not a righteous nature. God's nature is. I'm
made righteous in the Lord Jesus Christ. It's who of God is made
unto us wisdom and righteousness, sanctification and redemption.
Be not deceived, neither fornicators. Don't be deceived. Don't be deceived
by false doctrine. Don't be fornicators in the word
of God, through the gospel. You can't be fornicators through
the truth. You see that? nor idolaters that we worship
idol gods if we know the truth in our heart. But we must know
the truth concerning God's Son in our heart. If you know the
truth as it is revealed in Holy Scripture concerning God's Son,
you'll not be deceived. You're not deceived. But God
has revealed it to you. Be not deceived. God is not mocked. Salvation is not an act or a
deed, as you taught Roland, before God. Being a good person, doing
good things, to be received of God. Salvation is looking to
Christ. Resting in Christ. These are
all before God. Salvation will make a difference
in a man. Yeah, he'll give you a new heart.
And he'll cause you to desire to be subject to that heart wanting.
Yeah. And to honor Christ. to serve
Christ, to exalt, to extol, to worship. It's not the works of righteousness
which we have done, but it's by His mercy that He has saved
us, by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy
Ghost. So salvation is not how much
a person must know to be saved. That's not salvation. What do
you know about the Bible? I hear the fellow this morning
knows a lot about the Bible. He goes into prophecy and just
keeps bringing up things and showing things. I don't believe
he knows God, though. You don't hear much about Christ.
You don't hear much about Christ. And when you do, it is Christ
will save you if you let Him. You pray this prayer with me. You don't let Christ save you.
Those who are saved by the grace of God, they gladly bow to Christ.
You see what I mean? God works on the heart. He gladly
bows them. They see who they are. They despair
of who they are. They gladly bow. That's what
you were talking about, Roland, talking about lifting up holy
hands. You know what holy hands are.
That's what Roland said, the heart. We, from our hearts, when
you're from your heart, you don't stand here exalted. When you're
praying from your heart, you fall on your face before God,
you're bowed. You're bowed to God. And when
you're bowed to God, and then and only then will you lift up
who? The Lord Jesus Christ. See that?
That's lifting up Him who's holy. That's lifting up holy hands
from the right attitude. See that? lifting up the right
person who God has placed in your heart, whom you love, whom
you bow to. You don't stand exalted in yourselves,
bragging on yourselves and bragging on men and women, good people
doing good things. No, Christ is all. Christ is
all. We bow to God in Christ, in exalt
Christ. See that? It's not that outward
appearance and that outward doing and lifting up hands. As Roland
said, this is abomination. So the question is not how much
must the person know, it's who you must know. It's who we must
know. The Lord Jesus Christ. Who must
we know to be saved? Christ. Who must we know to be
saved? The Lord Jesus Christ. in whom
you trusted after that you heard the word of truth. Those who trust a false Christ
then are not saved. They don't know Christ. You see
what I mean? This is important. You know Christ through the word
of God as He is revealed in Holy Scripture by the grace and power
of God. If you don't know Christ as He
is revealed, you don't know Christ. As God says He is, if God says
who He is, then you don't know Him. People may be very moral. They
may have a good appearance. They may outwardly strive not
to do that which they shouldn't do, you see. Sin and all things
of which are evil. But they may strive to do this.
But in even doing this, they're sinning. You see that? Even in
doing that, they are sinned. And they are deceived in doing
that. They're doing it out of an evil
nature. It's the same nature that kills and curses that they're
doing it with. They don't understand. They don't
know it yet, do they? Might not ever know it, but by God's grace,
if they're children of God, they will know it. We're saved. in the Lord Jesus Christ. We
look to Christ. We trust Christ. We rest in Christ.
In truth, I'm talking about, as revealed in Holy Scripture,
people might be very outwardly moral. Outwardly and among people,
good people as far as we know, by what they're doing. But when they speak about the
Lord Jesus Christ, the attitude they speak about God and about
Christ with, reveals who we really are. You see what I'm saying?
If Christ is not all, if Christ is not all, then He's nothing
at all. If He didn't come into this world
to represent and to die for a people and satisfy completely the wrath
of God, then He's nothing. If He didn't do that. But He
did, and He's all, ain't He? He's all. We're saved only in
the Lord Jesus Christ. It's through and by Him and in
Him. It don't make no difference how good and pious we are if
we don't know Christ. We deserve the wrath of God.
You see that? If we don't know Christ. What
I'm saying is, if we're not in Christ by the grace of God, there's
still a lot of people on this earth that's in Christ that don't
know about. Not been made aware of it. But
it don't make no difference how pious and how religious we appear. If we don't know Christ, we don't
know the truth. You see that? You shall know
the truth, and the truth shall make you free. What is the truth?
The truth of God concerning Himself and His Son toward His people. You're saved only if you trust
in the Lord Jesus Christ. That's the only way a man or
woman can ever be saved is by the grace of God to bring them
to look to Christ, to trust Christ, looking unto Jesus, the author
and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before
him endured the cross, despising the shame, and it's finished.
He sat down at the right hand of God, making intercession.
So we must Know Christ. We must know the truth. We must
know the truth. We must know Him. And how do
we know Him? As I said, we know Him by the
Word of Truth. That's what this scripture says.
In whom you trusted after that you heard the Word of Truth.
So if we know Christ, if we do, how did we ever come to trust
in Christ? You can't trust someone you don't
know. You can't. You can't, can you? If you don't
know, you can't trust them. Paul tells us that faith has
been granted to us as the gift of God. If you trust Christ,
it's by the grace of God, it's by the gift of God. After that
you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.
After that you heard the word of truth. This is the gift of
God concerning His Son in revelation of Yourself and Himself, ain't
it? That's it. That's it. The gospel of God's
grace is God's grace, ain't it? It comes from God. It's grace.
Anything from us, or we do, or are, or be, or try to do, or
whatever, is not of grace for justification. That's not of
grace. But this is the gospel of God's
grace. The Gospel of Your Salvation.
If you know the truth as it is revealed in Holy Scripture, and
have been brought to faith in Him, the Lord Jesus Christ, that
is the Gospel of Your Salvation. The Gospel of God concerning
His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, on your behalf. That's the Gospel
of Your Salvation, ain't it? The Gospel of the Grace of God
in Christ. For by grace are you saved, and
that not of yourselves, but the gift of God, the gift of God,
by grace. You know Him in truth. If you
know Him in truth, He is the truth. Jesus said, I am the way,
the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father
but by Me. God cannot look upon or receive
any man in justification but by and through
the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who come by Christ come
by the grace of God and are accepted in the Beloved. That's the only
place they're ever accepted is in the Beloved. And the way He
is revealed to their heart is through the Word of Truth, ain't
it? The Gospel. John 18.37, Pilate therefore
said unto him, Art thou a king? Jesus answered, Thou knowest,
thou sense that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for
this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto
the truth. See that? For this end was I born, that
I should be king. He's not talking about coming
back and setting up a natural kingdom. He's king of kings and
Lord of lords. Everyone that is of the truth,
heareth my voice. See that? They hear Christ. They
hear Christ in truth as He is revealed, as He reveals Himself,
right? When they hear Christ in truth,
they see Christ as God's Son, don't they? In their substitute. This is my beloved Son in whom
I am well pleased. How can God be pleased with me?
in Christ. He said, I'm pleased in Christ,
in whom I'm well pleased. Ephesians 4.21 says, if so be
that you've heard the word of God and been taught by Him, been
taught what? As the truth is in Jesus. See
that? If you've heard the word of God
and been taught by Him, you're taught in truth. You see that?
In that truth, it's not in men and what men are doing. But it's
in God. It's in Christ. The truth of
God, as it is revealed in Holy Scripture, is in the Lord Jesus
Christ. Christ is truth, ain't He? He
is truth. We look to Him. We honor Him. We serve Him. We love Him. And
how is the truth revealed? It's revealed by the Holy Word
of God, the Holy Scripture. Acts 20, 24 says, But none of
these things move me, neither can my life, dear unto myself,
so that I may finish my course with joy in the ministry which
I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the
grace of God. See that? Paul said that I may
finish my course. How? By testifying of the gospel
of the grace of God. Testifying the gospel of the
grace of God. Where is the grace of God? How
is the grace of God given? Through Christ. For by grace
are you saved through faith. If not of yourself, it is the
gift of God. And that gift of God is in Christ.
How is it revealed? It is revealed by the Holy Spirit.
It is the gospel revealed. Separated unto the gospel, Paul
said he was, which had been promised by his prophets in the Holy Scriptures
concerning His son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, our Lord. What
is the gospel? It concerns the truth of God
in Christ. See, who Christ is. It concerns
Christ, which was made of the seed of David. See, ours is a
substitute, ain't it? According to the flesh and declared
to be the son of God with power according to the spirit of holiness
by the resurrection from the dead. God raised him from the
dead. God declared, that's my son in
whom I'm well pleased, when he raised him from the dead. He
declared that. He received him back into glory with the work
of redemption of the soul finished. It's finished. So, it's the Word of Truth, the
Word of Truth, by which the Holy Spirit sets sinners free. The
Holy Spirit His Spirit bears witness with our spirit that
we are the children of God, if we are. See that? How does it
do that? Through the knowledge of His Word, the spiritual knowledge
of His Word. How do you know you believe the
truth? You see the truth as it is revealed in Holy Scripture.
How do you know you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ? You see
Christ for who He is. And you are brought to faith
and rest in Him. See that? God doesn't save His
people apart from the Word of God or without the Word of God,
does He? My sheep hear my voice. See that? They hear Him. They hear the truth. They hear
the Word of God. Well, I've got a scripture here.
I'd like to find it. Romans 10, 17. It says, So then faith cometh
by hearing, In hearing by the Word of God. How does faith come?
Faith comes by hearing. Hearing what? The Word of God,
the Gospel, the truth that is revealed in Holy Scripture, the
truth of God concerning you and His Son. That's how faith comes,
ain't it? Hearing comes by the Word of
God. James 1.18 says, Of his own will
began he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind
of firstfruits of his creatures. See? If you're begotten by the word
of truth, if you believe God, if you believe on His Son from
your heart as He has revealed in Holy Scripture, where did
it come from? Faith comes by hearing and hearing
by the word of truth, don't it? That's how it comes. Hearing
comes by the Word of God, of His own will, being born again,
not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible what? The Word
of God. What is the Word of God? It is
God's Word concerning you and His Son. See that? 1 Peter 1.23
says, being born, I've already quoted that. So He doesn't save people by
hearing false gospels, false doctrines. See that? Hearing
comes by the Word. The true Word of God as it is
revealed in Holy Scripture concerning God's Son. He gives. That's the
only way He saves people. By the hearing of the Word. He doesn't save people by lying,
preaching a false Christ. And a false Christ, if you remember
who He is, what He did, why He did it, and where He's at, that
tells you where He's false or not. If you know the truth about
that, you know Christ, right? If you know the truth about who
He is and what He did, where He's at and what He's doing. So can anybody think that they
or anyone else can be saved apart from the Lord Jesus Christ? You
must come to God through the hearing of the Word in revelation
of yourself and who Christ is. The Word of Truth. It has to
be brought to you through the Word of Truth. The testimony
of Holy Scripture. If you don't know the Word of
Truth, I'm not talking about everything in the Gospel. I'm
talking about the Lord Jesus Christ. The Word of Truth. The
Word of God concerning His Son. You don't know Christ. If you
know Christ, you know the Word of Truth concerning His Son.
Abisham will beget he is with the Word of Truth. See that?
The Word of God concerning His Son. Our Savior. Our Lord. In whom our hearts
bow to. For the hope which is laid up
for you in heaven, whereby you heard before in the Word of Truth. of the gospel. See that? How
do you know about the hulk which is laid up for you in heaven?
Through the word of truth, the gospel. Christ is seated at the
right hand of God. You're accepted in Him. He's
worked out and provided a righteousness for you. He suffered your penalty
of sin, the sin death, the eternal wrath of God against you. He
paid that equivalent, didn't He? You're accepted in Him. You know that how? Through the
word of truth. Isaiah 65, 16, that he who blessed
himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth,
and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth,
because the former troubles are forgotten, because they are hid
from mine eyes. Titus 1 says, in hope of eternal
life, which God that cannot lie promised before the world began.
What is hope of eternal life? Hope in Christ. Hope thou in
the Lord. That's what God promised. God
that cannot lie promised hope in Christ. And God will receive
hope in Christ. That's right. Christ is the way. He is the truth. He is the life
of His people. How do they know that? By the
grace of God. Led by the Spirit of God to see
Christ as their Lord. As many as are led by the Spirit
of God, they are the sons of God. Those who believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ in truth from the heart. They're the sons of God,
ain't they? 1 Corinthians 12.3. You know, Roland
was talking about people that makes a curse of Christ. Blaspheming. 1 Corinthians 12.3 says, Wherefore
I give you to understand that no man speaking by the Spirit
of God calleth Jesus a curse. See that? No man by the Spirit of God lies
on Christ. That's what he's talking about,
isn't it? No man by the Spirit of God lies on the Lord Jesus
Christ. If they don't preach Christ as He's revealed in Holy
Scriptures, they're liars. That's falsehood. That's damnation. And no man can say that Jesus
Christ is Lord by the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost. Really, in his
heart, Every tongue should confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Every tongue
should. Because He is Lord. And He's Lord over all. Not just
the believers, but the unbelievers. He's Lord. John 14, 17 says, Even the Spirit
of truth, whom the Lord cannot Whom the world cannot receive,
because it saith him not, neither knoweth him, but you know him.
For he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." 1 John 4, 6
says, We are of God. He that knoweth God, heareth
us. He that is not of God, heareth not us. Hereby know we the Spirit
of God, and the Spirit of air. That's easy, isn't it? What is
the Spirit of God? The Spirit of God teaches Christ
as Lord and Savior. The spirit of earth teaches good
people and what they do to be justified before God in themselves.
See that? John 16, 13 says, When he, the
spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth.
See that? For he shall not speak of himself.
The spirit don't speak of itself, does it? Of himself. Who does
the spirit speak of? The Lord Jesus Christ. He'll
guide you into truth. I am the way, the truth, and
the life. Whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak, and
he will show you things to come. If the Son therefore shall make
you free, you shall be free indeed. If the Son shall make you free,
you shall be free indeed. In Romans 6.20 it says, For when
you were the servants of sin, you were free from righteousness.
You didn't know anything about righteousness. See that? When
you were the servants of sin, you didn't know God in your heart.
Now, He knew you with your heads, but you didn't know Him. But now being made free from
sin, He that the Son hath made free from sin, He that the Son
hath made free is free. You're free from condemnation.
You're free from the wrath of God, right? You're free. You're free from the penalty.
and wrath of God. You're free. If the Son makes
you free, you're freed in Him, in Christ. You're accepted. And
become servants to God. You have your fruit unto holiness
in the everlasting life. The Spirit reveals Christ to
you. You honor and serve Him out of
love and faith. See that? When Christ, who is I have everlasting
life in, right? When Christ, who is my life,
shall appear, then shall I also appear with Him in glory. How do we receive that? We receive
it by faith. By faith. By grace, through faith,
right? Are you saved? In faith's not
of yourselves, in neither grace. It is the gift of God. It is
the gift of God. But if you have faith in Christ,
by the grace and power of God, you are a son of God. See that?
You are a son of God. You look and rest in Christ and
nowhere else. Of his own will, of God's own
will, begat he us with the word of truth that we should be a
kind of first fruits of his creatures. Being born again, Not of corruptible
seed, but incorruptible. The Word of God, which liveth
and abideth forever. He that is born of the Word of
God, by the grace and power of God, shall live forever. Right? With the Lord Jesus Christ.
That's right. 2 Thessalonians 2, 9-12 says,
Even him whose coming is after the working of Satan, with all
power and signs, and lying wonders, What's the worst lies that can
be told? Lying on the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the work of Satan. But what about, I'm not here
to talk about religion, but what about those religious worlds
that don't believe the Son of God effectually and efficiently
put away sin and in Him you're accepted? The people that don't
believe that, that resort to works to try to justify themselves
before God. This is the working of who? The
working of Satan. I've heard people say they've
seen things. They'll have signs come before
them. They think, but they're lying wonders. Lying wonders. And with all the deceivableness
of unrighteousness, all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that
perish, because they receive not the love of the truth." What
is the love of the truth? How does it come? It comes through
the Word of God. The Word of God concerning you and His Son. That's the Word of Truth. The
Word of God concerning His Son. And when you see His Son, you
love the truth of God as it is revealed in Holy Scripture concerning
Him. See that? That's the only way
you can be saved is to see Christ in the right light by the grace
of God and believe on Him by the grace of God. For this cause,
for this cause, because they receive not the love of the truth,
the Word of God, God's love in His Son, they don't
receive it. They won't have it. For this
cause, God shall send them strong delusions that they should believe
a lie. He'll let them believe a lie
and be damned, that they all might be damned who believe not
the truth. What is the truth? The truth
of God, as I said over and over again concerning His Son, who
Christ is, what He did, why He did it, and where He's at. That's
the truth. Christ. that they all might be
damned who believe not the truth, but they have pleasure in unrighteousness."
See, they're religious people. If they don't know the truth
in their hearts, if they don't believe the truth in their hearts,
their pleasure is in unrighteousness. They're righteous people, they
think. They try to be a good person before God and do good
things. But they're looking to themselves. You see what I'm
saying? They don't know God in His righteousness. The righteousness of God as revealed
in Holy Scripture that's given to His people through the Lord
Jesus Christ. It's the gift of God. It's the
work of God. It's by the grace of God to the undeserving. That's who
it's to.
