The sermon delivered by Todd Nibert titled "Four Witnesses and Seven Accusations" focuses on the essential doctrine of salvation as it relates to the authority and divinity of Jesus Christ. Nibert expounds on John 5:34, emphasizing that Jesus' claims must be recognized and accepted for salvation to be achieved. He identifies four witnesses—the testimony of John the Baptist, the miraculous works of Jesus, God's voice, and the Scriptures—that substantiate Christ's divine nature and mission. Nibert underscores that rejecting these witnesses not only leads to disbelief but also incurs seven grave accusations from Christ against the unbelievers, revealing the depravity of the human condition. Ultimately, the sermon asserts that salvation is initiated by God’s grace, and that true belief will result in an acknowledgment of Christ's lordship, leading to transformation and life.

Look at the last phrase of verse
34. But these things I say that you
might be saved. What a word. This certainly ought
to get our most careful attention. The Lord tells us with regard
to what he is saying, these things I say unto you, that you might
be saved. Now there's so much in the term
being saved. I want the Lord to save me. I don't want to be left to myself. I don't want to be left to my
own understanding. I don't want to be left to my
own thoughts. I want to be saved. Somebody says, aren't you saved?
I believe I am. And I want to be saved. As a
matter of fact, a prayer that comes from me very frequently
is, Lord, save me. Save me. I need the Lord to save
me. Now, think about this. My salvation
and your salvation will be in accordance as we believe what
the Lord is saying right here. That is just overwhelming. And I pray that if you're not
saved, The Lord would save you through this particular message. This is what the Lord says that
you might be saved. He says in verse 34, I received
not testimony of man. I'm not trying to prove anything
to you. Yeah. I love the way the Lord says
that. I receive not testimony of man,
but these things I say that you might be saved. Now I've entitled
this message, Four Witnesses and Seven Accusations. Four witnesses with regard to
the truthfulness of the claims of the Lord Jesus Christ. Four
witnesses that bear witness to him that he gives us and seven
accusations if we fail to receive these witnesses. Verse 30 of John chapter 5, I
can of mine own self do nothing. As I hear, I judge. And my judgment
is just Because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the
Father which hath sent me. Now the Lord is not talking about
lack of ability on his part when he says I can do nothing of myself.
He is talking about his equality with God. I can of my own self
do nothing. What I do, God the Father does. What I do, God the Holy Spirit
does. Now this is the claim Christ
is making with regard to himself. Now, here's what had taken place.
Verse 16 of this chapter. Therefore did the Jews persecute
Jesus and sought to slay him. Now these people were mad. They
were angry with what had taken place because he had done these
things on the Sabbath day. But Jesus answered them, My father
worketh hitherto, and I work. Here it is on the Sabbath day,
guess what? My father's working, and I'm working too. You see,
he's the Lord of the Sabbath. Verse 18, Therefore the Jews
sought the more to kill him, because not only Had he broken
the Sabbath, but he said also that God was his father, making
himself equal with God. Now, the only way you can be
equal with God is to be God. Jesus Christ says, I am equal
with God. He thought it not robbery. to
be equal with God. He's equal to God in all of his
attributes. Whatever attribute God has, Jesus
Christ has. In him dwelleth all the fullness
of the Godhead bodily. He's equal to God in works. Jesus
Christ is the one that created the universe. Jesus Christ is
the one who's controlling you right now and everything else
and everywhere else. He's in absolute control. He's
the first cause of everything. And the work of salvation is
His work. He by Himself purged our sins. He's equal to the Father in works.
He's equal to the Father in power. Look what He says in verse 21.
For as the Father raises up the dead and quickens them, even
so the Son quickens whom He will. He gives life. Only God can do
that. Life can't be produced in a test
tube. It doesn't come out of some primordial
stew. It comes from God giving life. Only God can give life. Only
the power of God can give life. Jesus Christ is the mighty power
of God. He's equal to God in sovereignty.
Look what he says again in verse 21. For as the Father raises
up the dead and quickens them, even so the Son quickens whom
He will. Now do you hear that? As to whether or not you are
quickened and given life and made to believe, it's up to Him. Now, this is what the Lord tells
us. The Lord makes this statement. The Son quickens whom He will. He's equal to God in absolute
sovereignty. And He's equal to God in judgment. Look at verse 22. For the Father
judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son. He's
the one who's going to judge you. You're in His hands. And then He's equal to God Verse 23, in honor, that all
men should honor the son, even as they honor the father, he
that honoreth not the son honoreth not the father which has sent
him. If I don't give all honor to the son, I give no honor to
the father. You see what God thinks of me
and you is seen in how we view his son. That is the issue. What think ye of Christ, whose
Son is He? He's equal to God in truth. He
said in verse 24, Verily, verily, truly, truly, I say unto you,
His Word is absolute truth. Now, what he says in verse 30
is analogous to what he said in all these previous scriptures
I've read, when he says, I can do of mine own self nothing.
As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just because I seek not mine
own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. Verse 31. If I bear witness of myself,
my witness is not true. What's that mean? He's telling
us you have every reason to be suspicious of me. If I'm the
only one who bears witness with me, you have every reason to
doubt what I'm saying. If there are not other witnesses,
if I'm just toot my own horn, don't believe me. That's what
he's saying. But there's another verse 32, as
a matter of fact, he's going to give us four witnesses with
regard to the truthfulness of his testimony of equality with
God, who Jesus Christ is. Now, let me underline that. Let me put an explanation point.
What God thinks of you right now is seen in what you think
of his son. Well, he gives us four witnesses.
The first is John the Baptist. The second he's going to give
us is his works, his miraculous works. The third is the Father. And the fourth is the scriptures.
Now here are the four witnesses with regard to the person of
Jesus Christ and His equality with the Father. The first witness
is John the Baptist. Verse 32, there's another that
beareth witness of me. I'm not just bearing witness
of myself. There is another that bears witness of me, and I know
that his witness, which he witnesses of me, is true. You sent unto
John, and he bear witness unto the truth. Now John the Baptist
is the only individual other than Christ himself that was
prophesied in the Old Testament. God spoke of him coming, and
what a witness he was. I love to think about that scripture
when he, he was in his mother's womb, and he heard The message
of Mary that she was with child. And the scripture says he leaped
in his mother's womb in joy. He knew who he was. He was filled
with the Spirit from his birth, the scripture says. He knew. How he bore witness at the Lord's
baptism. He saw the Spirit descending
like a dove upon the Lord. And he heard the voice from heaven. This is my beloved son in whom
I am well pleased. Oh, he bore witness. Behold,
the lamb of God. He knew he was God's lamb. This
is not some, a sacrificial lamb that means nothing. This is the
very lamb of God. Oh, how he bore witness. A burning and shining light. Verse 35, he was a burning and
shining light for you were willing for a season to rejoice in him.
But I have greater witness than that of John. Now here's his
next witness. It's the witness of the father. The second witness he calls,
I have greater witness than that of John for the works which the
Father has sent me to finish, the same works that I do bear
witness of me." Now, even his enemies could not deny his works. He did what only God can do. He raised the dead. Can any of
these faith healers do anything like that? No, they don't have
any faith anyway. They're phonies. If they could,
they'd be able to raise somebody from the dead. He did. He controlled
the weather. Only God can control the weather.
He brought matter into existence that wasn't in the universe before
when he created food. He gave sight to the blind. Oh,
the works of the Lord Jesus Christ. Just His law keeping. Nobody
else had ever done that. That demonstrates that He's God.
Just the fact that He kept God's law perfectly, that He never
sinned. Turn with me for a moment to John chapter 11. This is after
the resurrection of Lazarus from the dead. Verse 47, this is what
the Pharisees say after this. Then gathered the chief priests
and the Pharisees of counsel and said, what do we do? For
this man doeth many miracles. We can't deny this. There they
are. They saw Lazarus raised from
the dead after being dead four days and stinking. He'd already
gone through the process of decay and now he's living. They knew
he controls the weather. He gives life to the dead. He
gives sight to the blind. He does many miracles. If we
let him thus alone, all men will believe on him, and the Romans
shall come and take away both our place and our nation. Now
here they see the miracles, but it means nothing to them. They
think, well, we're gonna lose our position. If he gets a following,
we're in trouble. We need to do something about
this. But they saw that what he did was so. Look in John chapter
12, beginning in verse 37. But though he had done so many
miracles before them, yet they believed not on him. Now just
aside, do you know nobody believed from a miracle? Not once. They bear witness as to who he
is, but visibly seeing a miracle never caused anybody to believe. Didn't these people? Verse 37,
But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they
believed not on him, that the saying of Isaiah the prophet
might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed
our report? And to whom is the arm of the
Lord revealed? Therefore they could not believe, because that
Isaiah said, He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their
heart, that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand
with their heart, and be converted, that I should heal them. These
things said Isaiah when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
That's an awesome passage of scripture. Do you know that passage
I just read is quoted more than any other passage in the New
Testament from the Old Testament? Quoted 10 times in some form. When John expressed doubt, now
think of John the Baptist. He knew of the Christ when he
was in his mother's womb. He saw the Spirit descend like
a dove upon Christ. He knew he was the Lamb of God. Any question about that? He knew. Yet when he was in prison, he
expressed doubt. Now somebody says, how could
that be? I've heard people say, he wasn't expressing doubt. He
was just saying that to get his disciples to go ask the Lord
this question so they could believe. I don't think so. Do you ever
doubt? Do you ever wonder, is all this
true? Do you ever wonder, what if there's
not a God? What if all this is false? What
if, what if, what if? Well, that happened to John.
Look at Matthew chapter 11. I've got the wrong passage of
Scripture. Oh, I'm in Mark, that's why.
Matthew 11. Verse 2, now when John had heard
in the prison, You know, he was a burning, shining light, and
all of a sudden he was in a prison. Nobody was paying any attention
to him. He thought he was... Can you imagine the things that
would be going through his mind? I've been put on a shelf. I've been...
Here I am, in prison. Now, when John had heard in the
prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and
said unto him, Art thou he that should come? Or do we look for
another? Jesus answered and said unto
them, Go and show John again those things which you do hear
and see. The miracles, the blind receive their sight, the lame
walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised
up, the poor have the gospel preached to them, and blessed
is he whosoever shall not be offended in me. Now his works,
this is what he gave to John the Baptist. When John the Baptist
was expressing this doubt, he said, you go tell them what you've
seen and what you've heard, speaking of his miracles. Now the Father himself bears
witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Look back in our text in John
chapter five. Verse 37, and the Father himself
which hath sent me hath borne witness of me. You know right after the fall
he bore witness of the Christ, didn't he? The seed of woman. Talking about the virgin birth
of the Lord Jesus Christ. He didn't say the seed of Adam.
He said the seed of woman shall crush the serpent's head. Right
at the first, he's bearing witness to the Lord Jesus Christ. Behold,
a virgin in the scriptures he bears witness. Behold, a virgin
shall be with child, and thou shalt call his name Immanuel,
which being interpreted is God with us. That's the sign he gives. What about him speaking to the
angels at the birth of Christ, telling them who this is that's
born King of the Jews? When he was baptized, a voice
came from heaven. This is my beloved son in whom
I am well pleased. God bore witness of him. You
remember the mound of transfiguration where the Lord appears before
his disciples and he starts shining and glistening and his deity
comes through his humanity and the disciples were scared to
death. They didn't know what to say and Peter always has to
say something. He said, so Lord, let us make
three tabernacles here. One for thee, one for Moses,
one for Elijah. That is the most ridiculous thing a man's ever
said. And what happens at that time? A gray cloud overshadows
them. They hit the dirt and they hear
the voice from heaven. This is my beloved son in whom
I'm well pleased. Hear ye him. Turn to John chapter
12. The father bears witness of him. Verse 28. Christ said, Father,
glorify thy name. There came then a voice from
heaven saying, I have both glorified it and will glorify it again. The people therefore that stood
by heard and said that it thundered. Others said an angel spake to
him. They heard something. Jesus answered and said, this
voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. This is the
Father bearing witness of the Son. So the first witness is
John the Baptist. The second witness is the works
of Christ. The third witness is the father,
but here's the most important witness. You say, how can a witness
be more important than those three witnesses you gave? Because
we've got it right here before us. The scriptures. The scriptures. Look what he
said in John chapter five with regard to the scriptures. In
verse 39. Search the scriptures, or you
search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal
life, and they are they which testify of me. Now let me read
this scripture to you. This is found in 2 Peter. This
is Peter's words when he testifies of seeing what took place on
the Mount of Transfiguration. And hear what he says. We have
also a more sure word of prophecy. Now, Peter, you're saying this
is more sure than you being up on the mountain and seeing the
transfiguration of Christ for yourself? This is more sure?
Yep. Because we have it right here. You know, with regard to
anything that's happened to me, I'm not really sure what happened.
Be honest with you. What about your experiences?
I don't know. I mean, I'm not sure of anything
but what God says in his word. Somebody says, do you expect
me to believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God?
Well, you believe that God created the universe. Somebody says, I don't know if
I do or not. Well, you do. You do. There was
a time you did. You might not now, but there
was a time when you did. And you might have blocked that out.
But at one time, you believed that God created the universe
from nothing. Why is there something and not nothing? Because God
created the universe. Now, if you believe God can create
the universe, you believe that he can inspire men to write a
book and keep it preserved. And we are utterly dependent
upon the Holy Scriptures. What if what you knew about God
was only what I told you and you didn't have anything to verify
that what I was telling you was the truth? Thank God we have
the Scriptures. As a matter of fact, turn to
that passage of Scripture. I want you to read it yourself. 2 Peter
chapter 1. Verse 16, Peter says, for we
have not followed cunningly devised fables. You know, that would
represent most of what goes on under the name of Christianity.
Cunningly devised fables. Phony, not real, when we made
known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,
but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from
God the Father honor and glory. When there came such a voice
to him from that excellent glory, this is my beloved son, in whom
I am well pleased. And this voice, which came from
heaven, we heard when we were with him in the holy mouth, we
have also a more sure word of prophecy. Where unto you do well
that you take heed as unto a light that shineth in a dark place
into the day dawn and the day star arise in your hearts, knowing
this first, that no prophecy of the scriptures of any private
interpretation, for the prophecy came not in old time by the will
of man, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy
Ghost. Now this is what testifies of
me. The scriptures. Now in these four witnesses, in light of these four witnesses, there's no excuse for anybody
in this room for unbelief. No excuse. These are irrefutable
witnesses. In light of these four witnesses, If I don't believe, the problem
is not lack of evidence. It's lack of will. You will. Look what he says in verse 40. And you will not come to me that
you might have life. It's not lack of evidence. It's
lack of will. And that says so much about the
sinfulness of human nature. You know, one of the most ridiculous,
now listen to me real carefully, one of the most ridiculous things
that men try to pass off in their religion is the idea of free
will. Your will is controlled by an evil nature. There's no such thing as free
will. God doesn't have a free will. His will is controlled
by His nature. He can't sin. He can't lie. His nature is what
controls his will, his holy nature. The Lord says to these people,
you will not come to me that you might have life. Now, in light of these four irrefutable
witnesses, let me give seven accusations the Lord brings to
these people. And if you and I don't believe
what he says in this passage of scripture, these accusations
are brought against us. So here, very carefully, here's
what he says to these people that reject his witness. Verse
37, and the father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness
of me, and you've neither heard his voice at any time nor seen
his shape. Now here's the first accusation.
You don't have a clue as to who God is. You've never heard from
him. You've never seen his shape.
You don't know what he's like. You don't know his character. He's
telling these people you're ignorant of God. That is why you are not
believing this. Now this is the Lord speaking.
Don't forget that. This is the Lord speaking. He
said you've never heard his voice at any time. And you've never
seen His shape. You think He's like you are.
Thou thoughtest I was altogether such a one as thyself. You think
He must be this way because I am. No, He's not. No, He's not. God
is other. God is other. He's not like you. He's not like
me. He's not like anybody or anything. He's utterly unique. And He says
to these people, you've never heard from Him. That's why you
don't believe. You've never heard His voice. You've never seen
His shape. And look what He says in verse
38. He says to these same people, you have not His word abiding
in you. For whom He hath sent, Him you believe not. His word
is not abiding in you. And here's the proof. I'm the
one God sent. He's the sent one. I'm the one
God sent, and you don't believe me. That's what is proof that
His Word is not abiding in you. His Word has no place in your
heart. Here I am, the one God sent.
He was sent to the Father. He was before He was sent. He
was sent of God to save His people from their sins. He did what
He came to do, and you don't believe. Here's what faith is,
this is the work of God that you believe on him whom he has
sent. Do you believe that God the Father
sent Jesus Christ? Now do you believe that? Do you
believe he sent him to save? He says to these people, you
don't believe on him whom he hath sent. So his word is not abiding in
you. Let me show you a passage from John chapter eight. Verse 37, he says, I know that you're Abraham's
seed, but you seek to kill me because my word, there it is,
my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I've seen
with my father and you do that which you've seen with your father.
They answered and said unto him, Abraham's our father. Jesus saith
unto them, if you were Abraham's children, you would do the works
of Abraham. But now you seek to kill me, a man that has told
you the truth, which I've heard of God. This did not Abraham.
You do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, we'd be
not born of fornication. We have one father, even God.
Jesus said unto them, if God were your father, you'd love
me. For I proceeded forth and came
from God, neither came I of myself, but he sent me." This is the
same things he was saying in John chapter five. Why do you
not understand my speech? Even because you cannot, you
lack the ability to hear my word. Now, the only way you will hear
the word of God is if God gives you the ability to hear it. You can't hear without that.
Now, instead of thinking, why didn't he give everybody the
ability to hear? Instead of thinking something like that, let me give
you, this is what I don't want to say, let me give you good
advice. This is not good advice. Ask God to give you hearing ears
right now. He that hath ears to hear, let
him hear. Lord, give me those hearing ears. Ask him. Verse 44, he says to these same
people, you are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your
father you'll do. He was a murderer from the beginning,
and I'm bode not the truth, because there's no truth in him. When
he speaketh a lie, he speaketh his own, for he is a liar, and
the father of it. And because I tell you the truth,
you believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of
sin? And if I say the truth, why do you not believe me? Well,
here's the answer. He that's of God heareth God's
word. You therefore hear them not because you're not of God. Then answered the Jews and said,
say we not well that thou art a Samaritan and has a devil.
You're crazy. That was their response to this.
You're a devil inspired crazy man. That's what they said to
the Lord Jesus Christ after this. Verse, back to our text in John
5, that accusation, you have not His Word abiding in you.
And here's the third accusation, and this is the real problem.
If you don't believe, he says in verse 40, you will not come
to me that you might have life. You will not come to me that
you might have life. You have no desire to come to
me that you might have life. You know, the Lord said in John
644, no man can come to me. You hear that? No man can come
to me. Except the Father which sent
me, draw him. You can't come because you won't
come. If you would, you could. And if you don't come to Christ,
it's because you do not want to come to Christ. You'd rather
try to make it on your own. You will not come to him. That's
why he said, you will not come to me that you might have life.
Life is only had in coming to him. And he says, you will not
come to me. that you might have life. You know, he promised, all that
the Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to
me I will in no wise cast out. Now listen to me, if you come
to Christ, he won't cast you out. I don't care who you are.
If you come to Christ, you will be received. And if you don't
come to Christ, it's because you do not want to come to Christ. That's what he said. You will
not come to me that you might have life. Now here's the fourth
accusation, verse 42. But I know you. I would love
to have heard the Lord say this just the way he said it. I know
you. I know you. That you have not the
love of God in you. Here's his fourth accusation.
You don't love God. Now, to not love Him is to hate
Him. Let me repeat that. To not love
Him as He's revealed in the Scripture. I'm not talking about some kind
of general, generic God that can't make a move unless you
let Him and He's kind of waiting to see what you're going to do.
Nobody hates that God. Nobody fears that God. But I'm
talking about the God of the Bible who has absolute control
of everybody and everything. He's holy. Whatever he does is
right. He doesn't do it because it's right. It's right because
he does it. He has no law over his head.
He's not trying to live up to some kind of standard. He's God,
the God of the Bible. You have no love, he says, to
the God of the Bible. You have not his love. dwelling
in you. Verse 43, here's the fifth accusation. I'm coming in my Father's name
and you receive me not. I'm coming in my Father's name.
I'm not coming in the name of some whatever, I'm coming in
the very name of the Father. And you receive me not. If another shall come in his
own name, you'll receive him. You'll receive someone who has
no verification from the scriptures that he comes from God, but you'll
receive that man. How many preachers right now are received, he's
a prophet of God, but he's not preaching the word. He said,
you'll receive that man, but I've come in my father's name
and me you will not receive. He came into his own and his
own received him not. Here's the sixth accusation,
verse 44. How can you believe? which receive
honor one of another, and seek not that honor that cometh from
God only. He said in verse 41, I receive
not honor from men. I don't need your affirmations,
what he's saying. The Lord wasn't trying to gain a following. He
wasn't trying to get men's affirmation. He wasn't trying to develop some
kind of movement. He said, I don't receive honor
from men. I don't need your affirmation, is what he's saying. Now somebody
says that seems uncaring. It's not uncaring at all. It's
just the truth. He does not need your affirmation. As a matter of fact, he doesn't
need you. He doesn't need me. He's utterly independent. And
he says to these people, how can you believe, which receive
honor one of another, and seek not that honor that cometh from
God only? Now, how about you? How about me? Now, I want you
to like me. I do. I want you to be pleased
with what I'm saying. I would be lying if I said, I
don't care what y'all think. Yeah, I do. Yeah, I do. I love
you. I love you. I want to have a relationship
with you. But you know what? If I got his honor and I don't
have yours, it's OK. You seek that honor that comes
from God only. All you want is to have his favor. And if I've got his favor and
I don't have anybody else's, that's okay. But he says to these
people, how can you believe if you're more concerned about what
men think than what God thinks? That's his accusation. And the
last accusation, do not think, verse 45. Do not think that I'll
accuse you to the Father. There's one that accuses you,
even Moses, in whom you trust. For had you believed Moses, you
would have believed me. For he wrote of me. But if you believe not his writings,
how shall you believe my words?" You don't believe the writings
of Moses. Now, these people claim to be disciples of Moses. They
claim to love the scriptures. They claim to be very religious
people. But what does he say? You don't
believe the writings of Moses, because if you did, you'd have
believed me, for he wrote of me. And you don't believe his
writings. Now, those are the seven accusations
that he brings against all those who receive not his witness.
You've never heard or seen from God. His word doesn't abide in
you. You have never seen his voice,
his place. You will not come to Christ.
You have no love for God. I'm coming in my own name and
you won't receive me. Another comes in his own name
and you receive him. You're more concerned about what men think
than what God thinks and you don't really believe the writings
of Moses. Now this is the seven-fold accusation
but let's close with this and I'll be very brief. If you believe
The opposite is true of you in all seven of these accusations. Number one, when you believe
you've heard his voice in the gospel and you have seen his
shape, you have seen the true character of God in the cross
of the Lord Jesus Christ. You've seen that. You've seen
every attribute of God. You've seen the true and living
God. through the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. You've heard
his voice. When you believe the gospel is
the power of God unto salvation, when you believe that every attribute
of God is shown in the gospel, when you believe that he's made
a way to be just and justify the ungodly in the gospel, you've
heard his voice. You've seen his shape. Second,
his word abides in you. And that's evidenced by you believing
on him whom he has sent. This is the work of God, that
you believe on him whom he has sent. Do you believe that God
sent him? Do you believe that he did what
God sent him to do? Do you believe he was before
God ever sent him? The eternal son of God? Absolutely successful. Thirdly, You do come to Him for
life. You do come to Him for life.
You know there's life nowhere else but in Him. You're sure
of that. It's on your works. You're just like that leper who
came to the Lord. Behold, the leper came to Him
and said, Lord, if you will. I want you to think about how
blasphemous it would sound if the leper said, Lord, I will
that you make me clean. That is offensive. fingernails
on a chalkboard. If you will, if you will, you
can make me clean. That's what every believer does
in coming to Christ. If you will, you can make me
clean. And fourth, we love God. He says,
you have not the love of God in you. We love God as He's revealed
in His Word. Do you love every attribute that
God has made known in His Word concerning Himself? If you're
a believer, you do. You love everything about Him.
You wouldn't change Him if it were in your power. You love
everything about Him as He's revealed in His Word. Fifth,
we receive Him who comes in the name of the Father. We actually
receive the Lord Jesus Christ. Now somebody says, what does
it mean to receive Christ? I can tell you. As many as received
Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even
to them that believe on His name. You believe on the name of the
Lord Jesus Christ. You believe His name is the only
name that will bring you into heaven. You believe that? Salvation
for His sake. His name represents every attribute
of God. You believe on His name. And
really, when it comes right down to it, six, all we care about
is that honor that comes from God only. I'm concerned with
His favor, not man's, His favor. And last, we believe the writings
of Moses. He said, Moses wrote of me. And
we believe that every verse of scripture has to do with the
Lord Jesus Christ. Moses wrote of me. We believe. Now I pray that God will take
these four witnesses and these seven accusations and use them
to cause us to hear these words that the Lord said these things,
I say that you might be saved. Ask the Lord to save you. Let's pray. Lord, how glorious and awesome
is thy word How glorious and awesome is the person of thy
son. How glorious is the salvation that's in him. We ask in his
name that you would take your word and save every one of us
by your grace for the glory of thy name. In Christ's name we
pray, amen.
