We've been looking at the different
numbers according to the scripture, and tonight we're on Wednesday
nights, that's how the Lord led thus far, and so we're on number
three tonight. If you'd like to turn to Exodus 33, also been
trying to bring messages according to the books of the Bible. We
started in Genesis, and we did Exodus twice on Sunday, and so
just like Ruth, we talked about a little bit on Sunday, the hat
fell, that it's gonna be on Exodus tonight. The Lord purposed it
to be in Exodus again tonight. Exodus chapter 33. I've titled
this message threefold salvation. And he says in Exodus 33 verse
17. And the Lord said unto Moses,
I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken. For thou hast
found grace in my sight. And I know thee by name. And
he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory. He said, I will
make All my goodness passed before thee. I will proclaim the name
of the Lord before thee and I will be gracious to whom I will be
gracious and I will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. He
said thou canst not see my face. For there shall no man see me
and live and the Lord said behold. There is a place by me. And thou
shalt stand upon a rock And it shall come to pass, while my
glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock,
and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by. And I will take
away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts, but my face
shall not be seen. What a glorious picture of what
our Savior has done for us in putting away our sin. Putting
us into Himself and allowing us, allowing the glory of the
Lord to be seen in His finished work. Notice that in verse 19,
this is where salvation begins for the believer. He says, I
will make all my goodness pass before thee. And he goes on to
say I will be gracious. I will have mercy upon whom I
will have mercy. And I will. And he says that. I will be gracious to whom I
will be gracious and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.
The Lord's not only just declaring that he has the sovereign right
to do that, but our hope is that he will do that. He's saying,
I will show mercy. I will be gracious. So it's not
just that he has the absolute sovereign power to do so. And
he's saying that it's his choice only. Yes, that's absolutely
true. But the hope that we have is that he will be gracious or
he will be merciful. So this is three parts here already
that the Lord's speaking of. His goodness is going to pass
by, He's going to be gracious, and He's going to show mercy.
That's three parts, isn't it? Now, why would He show mercy?
Well, He tells us in verse 17, if you look back, at the very
end, for thou hast found grace in my sight. This is the why
the Lord can show mercy. This is the why the Lord shows
grace and has his goodness pass by, is because his people are
found. Thou hast found grace in my sight,
he tells Moses here. We know that in Genesis chapter
six, that the same exact words are spoken unto Noah. Whenever
the Lord, if you begin reading Genesis chapter six, you're going
to find out that there's nothing mentioned about Noah until he
says, but Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Everything
about the world at that time was completely evil, just as
the day that we're living in. But it says, but Noah found grace
in the eyes of the Lord. And later on, it calls him a
just and upright man, but understand something. If Noah had never
found grace in the eyes of the Lord, he would have never been
a just and upright man. Being found in grace is not something
that we seek out. It's not something that we acquire,
or we attain, or merit because of something that we do. Being
found in grace is because it's been bestowed upon us. This is
our hope, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according
to His mercy, according to His grace hath He loved us. This
is our hope. Grace is all of Him, and He can
bestow it upon whom He will. And He does bestow grace upon
His people, doesn't He? This hour, I would like to see
several different threes, if I can put it that way. We have
a triune God. God the Father, God the Son,
and God the Holy Spirit. I'd like to look at that, examine
that a little bit this hour. We have a triune Savior. He's
prophet, priest, and king. We have a threefold salvation
in goodness, grace, and mercy that's been bestowed upon us
by the Lord's sovereign right. We have threefold benefits that
the Lord's given us in that regard as well. We have faith, we have
hope, we have charity. So my prayer this evening is
that we'll be able to look at these different threes by answering
these three questions in salvation. Who purposed it? Who purposed
salvation? How was it purposed? And how
did it come to pass? The first question I asked was
who purposed it? Well, that's a very easy answer
for the believer. We know it was God. It was God
in the covenant of grace before the foundation of the world.
But most men would agree with you in that regard. Who purposed
salvation? They would say God as well. But what they deny is
His will in the salvation. Just because a man says God purposed
salvation doesn't mean they believe that God accomplished salvation.
James chapter one in verse 18 says, of his own will beget he
us with the word of truth. So to the believer, we know that
it was his will that bestows salvation upon us. It was his
will that caused salvation to be wrought. It was his will that
caused the covenant of grace to take place to begin with.
So he as God has the sovereign right to choose whomsoever he
will. Only the believer knows truly
that salvation is of the Lord. Only the believer truly rests
in salvation because there's no other salvation given but
that of election, but that in the Lord's sovereign right in
choosing his people. Ephesians chapter one, verse
11 says, in whom also we have obtained an inheritance. Now
that word obtained could also be said, we have found grace
in the eyes of the Lord. Do we see that? in whom also
we have obtained an inheritance or found grace being predestinated
according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after
the counsel of his own will. This is his will we're talking
about, his salvation. When David sinned with Bathsheba,
he did not approach the Lord and say, Lord, restore unto me
the joy of my salvation. See, I'm missing out now because
of my actions and I need you to give me back what I had. He
said, Lord, it's your salvation and if I'm going to be saved,
Restoring to me the joy of thy salvation. It's the Lord's salvation. It's the Lord's grace. It's the
Lord's mercy. The good news for us is that
the Lord chose in the covenant of grace before the world began
to give that grace to his people. It's not man's will that causes
this salvation. It's not man's counsel that God
seeks. He does whatsoever he will at
the council. of his own will, doesn't he?
So who purposes salvation? God does. The triune God. The scripture says in 1 John
5 and verse 7, for there are three that bear record in heaven,
the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are
one. This is who purposed salvation. We were elected by the Father,
we were redeemed by the Son, and we are quickened by the Spirit. That's the work of salvation.
These three are singular in unity, in purpose. They are singular
in unity, in will, in redemption. They do not contradict themselves
in any way. These three are one, completely
one. This is our hope. These three
manifestations of our Lord wrought salvation for his people. They
did. The Lord elected a people. The
Son redeemed the people by becoming a man robed in sinful flesh,
and in the likeness of sinful flesh, it says, for sin, condemned
sin in the flesh, that we might be made the righteousness of
God in him. And the Holy Spirit quickens us. Nicodemus came unto
the Lord and said, what must I do to inherit eternal life?
And he said, you must be born again. Well, he goes on to tell
him, he says, Nicodemus thought that was very contradictory.
He said, how can a man, when he is old, enter to his mother's
womb a second time and be born? The Lord said, Nicodemus, that
which was born of flesh is flesh, that which is born of the Spirit
is spirit. Marvel not that I say unto thee, you must be born again.
And he tells him this, he says, the wind bloweth where it listeth.
Thou canst not tell from whether it comes or whether it goes,
so is every one that is born of the Spirit. So it is the Spirit
of the Lord that births us into the family of God with the washing
of water by the word, washing us in his blood by the preaching
of the gospel. This is good news if you're a
sinner. This is good news if you need a savior. To see the
Lord as holy, holy, holy, three times holy, if you see him as
thus, you'll see yourself as the sinner. And the good news
is he came to save sinners. That's why we're here, to hear
of the one that came to save sinners. Isaiah saw the Lord
in Isaiah chapter six, and I've preached this to us before, so
you know the account. He said, in the year King Uzziah
died, I saw the Lord high, and lifted up and seated on the throne,
and His train filled the temple. And we know that that train represents
the place that we hide as His people. That's our hope. That's
the goodness and mercy. That's the grace of the Lord
that covers His people. So that when the Lord looks,
all He sees is Christ. Christ, the Rose of Sharon. And
we're just a bunch of blades of grass around the Rose of Sharon,
aren't we? He said, I saw the Lord high and lifted up. And
what did the angels say? The seraphims, what did they say?
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty. In Revelation chapter
four, verse eight, the four beasts had six wings, the scripture
says, and they flew and they cried the same cry. Holy, holy,
holy is the Lord God Almighty, which was, which is, and which
is to come. That's three parts, isn't it?
Was, and is, and is to come. This is the threefold salvation
that the Lord has wrought for his people. This is the glory
that the Lord is telling. I'm going to pass by. I'm going
to show you my glory. This is what Moses desired to
look into. Is this salvation of the Lord,
the grace, the mercy, the graciousness, how that God can be just and
the justifier. This is how it was accomplished. This is who purposed it, the
Lord himself. He said, I will do this thing in verse 17. And
the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing. I will do this. So we know who purposed it because
he's the one that said, I will. The Lord purposed it. God purposed
it. The eternal I am. He purposed
salvation. I will do this. You're not going
to do this, Moses. You're not going to hew out a
place in the rock. and I'll pass by, it's somewhere I've put,
I've made, that I will put you by the work of my own hands.
It was the Lord's doing that brought salvation. It was not
man's doing. Why would the Lord do this? Why
would the Lord do this for sinners like you and I? Because we have
found grace in the eyes of the Lord. And he says, I know you
by name. That's what he tells him. I know
you by name. The scripture says you've been
given a new name. What do you think that name is? Jesus Christ. That at the name of Jesus, every
knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that he's Lord
to the glory of God the Father. This is our hope, brethren. This
is who purpose salvation. Number two. How was salvation
purposed? We know who purposed it, but
how was it purposed? It was purposed for him to get
all the glory in it, for him to get all the glory. As we just
heard from James chapter one, verse eight, it is by the word
of truth. That's how it was purposed. of his own will begat he us by
the word of truth. This is how it was purposed. It was purposed to be by grace
alone, not by works. The scripture says, by grace
you are saved through faith in that not of yourself. It is the
gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. It has
been purposed. How it was purposed is by grace
alone. It was purposed in eternity for
the Lord's people. It wasn't just purposed one day
the Lord had a new thought and decided I'm gonna make a salvation. This was eternal. This is an
eternal God we're talking about. If he loves us now, he's always
loved us. We've always been in Christ and
we can't get out of it. That's the good news of the gospel.
This is an eternal covenant, an everlasting love, never had
a beginning. and never had an end. This is
the hope for the Lord's people. This is how salvation was purposed. Knowing how it was purposed can
only leave us to one conclusion that we have been saved in the
past before time ever began. We're being saved in the present
while time is consisting, and we're gonna be saved in the future.
That's three parts, isn't it? The past, present, and future.
He just described the Lord as which was, which is, and which
is to come. The scripture says in Romans,
there is now therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.
Or right now is when the Lord, when I need to be saved is right
now. I need there to be no condemnation right now. I need there to be
no condemnation in the past, but I need there to be no condemnation
right now in the present. I need the God which was and
which is right now to save me right now. And I need him to
save me in the future. And he did that because that's
how he purposed salvation to be for his people. He has saved
us, He is saving us, and He's going to save us. The Lord's
people will be saved, surely, or the Lord Jesus would be a
failure. Salvation was purposed by God
saying, I will. I will is how it was purposed.
Verse 19, He said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee,
and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee. and
I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious. Don't you love the
way the Lord is? The glorious part about our Savior
is His sovereignty in salvation. His sovereignty in everything,
truly. But His sovereignty here is I will. I can rest in our
God that says, I will. There's nothing that can get
in His way if He says, I will. If He says, I will save you,
if He says, I will call you, we can rest in that. because
we're talking about the sovereign I am. No one can stay his hand. He said, I will and you shall.
I will save you and you shall be saved. I'm going to save you
and then I'm going to call you and let you know what I've done
for you. That's how our Lord operates. That's what he's done
for his people. That's the good news of the gospel.
I will be gracious. I will be mercy. I will be merciful. There is our hope, brethren,
that he would do that for me. that he would do that for me,
the chief of sinners, that he would do that for you, his people,
that he would show us our need and not leave us to ourself,
not shut us up into hell forever, but give us grace and give us
mercy and cause his goodness to pass by so that all we see
is the goodness of the Lord. There is therefore no condemnation.
There's no wrath left. All we see is the goodness of
the Lord. This is how salvation was purposed
by him. This is how he can be just and
the justifier of sinners. He took their sin into his own
body so that all that can be said, all that can be seen or
shown unto us is just goodness and mercy, just his grace, not
his wrath. How did this happen? Well, it
took a triune savior. to do so. The Lord Jesus Christ
himself is our triune savior. He is the prophet. He is the
priest and he is the king of our salvation. He prophesied
his death while he was on the earth, didn't he? He told them
for this reason, I've came into this world. He told them they're
going to take me and they're gonna crucify the son of man,
but in three days, I'll raise again. He told them everything
that was gonna happen, and when it happened, they couldn't believe
that it happened. And whenever he resurrected, he told them
what had happened, and then he had to cause them still to believe
what had happened. Isn't that us? That's what the Lord in his
grace and mercy, he teaches us that he is our prophet, that
he knows all things, that he has determined all things, that
he has purposed all things. He is the prophet of the Lord,
that the Lord looks to He's our priest. The Lord Jesus Christ
is our high priest that entered into the veil. once into the
holy place by his own blood. He was the sacrifice and the
high priest. He was the propitiation. The
Lord Jesus Christ himself became the lamb slain before the foundation
of the world, shed his blood for his people, and entered into
the holy place as our high priest, as our representative, as the
one that could go between us and God. And once he did, the
scripture says, when he had cried with a loud voice, And we know
what he cried. We know what he cried. It is
finished. The veil in the temple was written twain from top to
bottom. And now we have access to the goodness, to the mercy,
and to the grace of God by his own blood. The scripture says,
by his own blood begat he us. He is our high priest. He's our
King, the Lord Jesus Christ by his earthly bloodline. He's the
king, he's the son of David, the king of the Lord, the scripture
says. He is the king, but more than his earthly bloodline, it
was his spiritual bloodline that made him king, wasn't it? He
had holy blood. He had the blood of his father.
Pilate looked at the Lord and said, are you a king? And the
Lord said, for this cause came I into the world, but this kingdom,
this earth is not my kingdom. The Lord has a kingdom that he
is king of. Of course he is king over this
earth, but this earth, it was not, he didn't come to save the
earth. He didn't come to save the world.
He came to save his people and to bring them unto him, to bring
them unto his kingdom, to bring him where his father was and
unite us as one unto him. And he done so by the death of
himself on the cross of Calvary. Complete and perfect union unto
the Father. Scripture says that he is a priest
forever after the order of Melchizedek. I got ahead of myself for a second.
He's a priest forever for his people, isn't he? He's a king
forever to his people, isn't he? He is the one that we look
to in all for our salvation. He satisfied God in all these
three parts. All the requirements that God
had for our salvation, He satisfied Him. Did you know the three parts
that really make up a man is our thought, our word, and our
deed? What we think, what we speak,
and what we do. That's pretty much how we give
an account of everything we've done in our life. Think about
that. Did you know that we've really never had a pure thought,
a holy thought, a good thought whatsoever? We haven't. It's
not possible in the flesh. The flesh is enmity against God.
We've never had a deed that we've done that was not sinful. Even as I stand here and I try
to declare unto you the precious Savior of our only hope, fleeting
His blood, Everything that I'm doing in and of myself is sin.
There is nothing holy about me and nothing holy even about what
we can do. But the Lord promised, this is
where I'm going to meet you. Who's sufficient for these things?
The Lord has to wash the very best prayer we've ever prayed
in his blood or it will not be pleasing unto the Father. Every
deed that we've ever done is nothing but sin and every word
we've ever said. I just mentioned prayer and I just mentioned preaching
everything that we say. We're unworthy to mention his
name. And yet he said it comes by the foolishness of preaching.
Salvation comes by the foolishness of preaching now. That being
said, Jesus Christ. Did everything perfect in thought? In word and indeed unto his father
for his people. So that when He looks at us,
when the Father looks at His people, He sees nothing but perfect
thoughts. Think about that. He sees nothing,
no matter what I touch, He sees nothing but perfect actions because
I'm in Christ. He doesn't see me. He sees the
blood. He sees substitution. Everything that I speak, He sees
that Jesus Christ spoke perfectly, never wavering unto the Father,
but spoke the words Perfectly, the purest words, the most beautiful
words proceeded out of His mouth. We have salvation by His Word,
by His deed, and by His thoughts. We're counted righteous before
Him. This is how salvation was purposed. This is how He gets
all the glory in it. We believe all this and don't
understand it because we're looking through a glass darkly. We can't
see but little glimmers of light here and there. I tried to enter
in. I tried to enter into the thought
of what does it mean to look through a glass darkly? And I've seen
old antique mirrors and old antique mirrors have very dark spots
on them. Now that's one way to view it,
but you could also think about looking through a dirty window.
You could also think about looking into a vessel or trying to look
into a vessel that's all fogged up and different things like
that. Either way, brethren, we can't see the full picture. We
just believe it. But those little, those little, speckles of light
that pop through. That's why we're here right now.
Lord, let us see your light one more time. We're in this dark
world looking out of this glass from this side. We just want
to see the light shine through just a moment. We just want to
see the goodness and mercy, the reflections of your grace, your
mercy, your goodness. That's why we're here is to hope
to see his goodness and mercy This is how Moses described,
this is how the Lord described it right here to Moses. He tells
him in verse 20, he said, thou canst not see my face for there
shall not man, there shall be no man see my, see me and live.
If we were to see God on this side of eternity, we would die
instantly. There's no way we could stand beforehand, but we
have the gospel that is being preached by the, The Holy Spirit
going forth, allowing us to see through this dark glass. We have
one that was able to look upon the face of God. One that was
able to see him and not be destroyed, and that was the Lord Jesus Christ. And the Lord says here you cannot
see. There's a couple of different perspectives that I took from
that. Number one, we physically cannot look upon God and live. We will die physically. But did
you know spiritually we cannot look upon God unless he gives
us his spirit to look upon him through the eyes of faith? Think
about that. He has to give us faith for us to even look at
him spiritually speaking. We can't even look at him there.
So whenever he says, no man can look upon my face, we are not
able to look upon his face physically or spiritually. And we're not
allowed to look upon his face because we will certainly be
destroyed. Everything about the Lord is so High and we are just
so low. You can't preach the Lord high
enough and man low enough. But as we try to enter into these
thoughts. We want to see a lot of times in life what he's doing
and the only thing that he'll ever show us is what he's already
done on the cross of Calvary. The goodness and mercy and grace
that he's bestowed upon his people. That's what we see through the
glass darkly. That's what we come here desirous
to see is his face one more time. He says, you can't look upon
me or you'll die. And we come to him as mercy beggars through
the eyes of faith saying, Lord, show us your glory. Show us your
glory one more time. And that's the goodness and mercy
and grace of God. We acknowledge that we cannot
look upon God and live. We acknowledge as believers how
we are utterly sinful and he is perfectly holy. We acknowledge
that and we say, Lord, show us your goodness. Show us Christ.
Let us see his face. Now, lastly, the question I have
for us is how did salvation, how did the salvation of elected
sinners come to pass? How did salvation come to pass? Well, in verse 20, we'll find
the answer to that. 21, I'm sorry, 21. And the Lord
said, behold. That word behold means to look
upon. there is a place beside me, and
thou shalt stand upon a rock. He's telling him here, look,
there is a place, and that place is where you'll be standing.
You know the song that we sing on Christ the solid rock I stand,
all other ground is sinking sand? He says, look, there's a place
for you, and upon that rock is where you're going to stand.
It's the Lord Jesus Christ, that is the place. That is how salvation
came to pass. He says in the next verse, and
it shall come to pass. Now, if the Lord says it, then
it's done, it's finished. If the Lord speaks it, that's
all that has to happen and it's going to come to pass. And it
shall come to pass while my glory passeth by that I will put thee
in a cliff to the rock and I will cover thee with my hand while
I pass by. This is our hiding place, brethren,
this cleft of the rock. This is the place where the Lord
puts sinners and allows His glory to pass by. This is the same
that was mentioned about the ark that Noah built. And everyone
that was in the ark when the wrath of God fell was safe from
the wrath of God. This is the place where the Lord
has chose to put you and I, His elect, so that we cannot be touched
or destroyed as He passes by. The only thing that we can see
is his backside. The only thing that we can see
is what he's already done, the goodness and mercy of Christ.
That's all that's left for us, because his wrath has been absorbed
in the person of Jesus Christ. Because of this, he tells him,
you're covered by my hand. He covered him by his hand as
he passed by. Do we see that? He covered him
by his hand. That's our hope, is that the
Lord hath covered us with the shadow of his wing put us in
His ark, put us in the cleft of the rock, so that whenever
His wrath passed by, we were not consumed in the person of
Jesus Christ. He has given us, because of this,
He has given us these three things, faith, hope, and charity. He's given us faith to believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation. He's given us
hope that what Christ did in putting away our sin, in putting
us into the cleft of the rock, in absorbing the wrath of God.
He's given us hope that it satisfied the father by his resurrection.
We have hope in Christ and he's given us charity. Well, charity
is love, isn't it? He's given us love towards God.
Scripture says we love him. Why? Because he first loved us. He saved us. And then he called
us and the Lord loves us and therefore we love him. And you
know who else we love? We love each other, don't we? We love
the brethren. Scripture says, you know that
you've passed from death unto life because you love the brethren. It's interesting that a lot of
times I don't enjoy conversation with my physical family because
there's one thing needful that's missing and it's the gospel.
I love talking to the brethren because somehow, someway, no
matter what the conversation is, we always flee to Christ,
the cleft of the rock. Let's talk about Him. Let's talk
about His finished work. Because if we talk about this,
we're just going to be discouraged. We're just going to be overwhelmed.
Let's talk about Christ. That's what we do, isn't it?
That's why we love each other, is because we have the same confession. Christ is our cleft in the rock.
Christ is our hiding place from the wrath of God. Christ is the
one that satisfied the demands of God. He is our resting place,
the solid rock. All other ground is sinking sand. If you've been given the faith,
hope, and charity that I'm describing to you, There's a cause and effect
that takes place. If you've been given that, you've
been caused to have those things. The effect is found in verse
13. Moses is speaking in verse 13.
He says, now, therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in
thy sight, show me now thy way. Isn't that what we desire? Lord,
don't. Don't show me my way, don't show
me man's way, show me thy way, oh Lord, that leads unto righteousness.
Show me thy way that I may know thee. That's our hope, is that
we know him. We know him and the power of
his salvation, the power of his might, that we know the true
and living God. This is the cry that the believer has when the
Lord shows them, gives them faith, that I may find grace in thy
sight. This is our hope that we're given
grace and mercy and that all we see is the goodness of the
Lord passing by. That's all that spoken to us
is just grace, mercy, peace, love, gentleness, meekness, nothing,
nothing contrary to that in any way, but just goodness and mercy. This is the new heart that he's
given out to us. Our scripture reading this evening
was in Psalm 119. And David said, I'll read you a verse or two
of that. He says, teach me, oh Lord, the way of thy statutes. It's David's prayer too, isn't
it? It wasn't just Moses's. And I know that if the Lord's
given you the heart to look unto him, it's your prayer as well.
It's our prayer. It's no different than David.
It's no different than Moses. It's no different than any other
person that the Lord has called. Lord, teach me the way of thy
statutes and I shall keep it unto the end. Give me understanding
and I shall keep thy law. I shall observe it with my whole
heart. This new heart just cries out
by faith. And what is our Lord's response
to the cry of his children? Verse 33 and closing. I'm sorry,
23 verse 23 and closing. We cry out with this heart that
he's given us with the faith that he's given us. I will take
away mine hand. and thou shalt see my back parts,
but my face shall not be seen. There is no wrath to be seen
in the Lord's face. He'll only show his back parts
unto his people. This is our hope. We may never
know why the Lord does this, but we really know why, don't
we? Because of goodness and mercy. because of grace. That's not
just true in salvation. We may say in life, I don't know
why this is happening, or I don't know why that's happening. Yes,
we do. We know exactly why everything's happening, because it's been
purposed and ordained of God. Because the Lord said, I will,
and you shall, for the salvation of his people, for the cross
of Calvary. That's why all of this is in
effect right now. Never say, I don't know why.
We know why, brethren, we do. And we rest in this cleft of
the rock, the Lord Jesus Christ, knowing, knowing that we will
not have to look upon him in his face in judgment and in wrath,
he will not look upon us. We will not see that when we
see him face to face, will be like him, for we shall see him
as he is. No wonder John said right before
that, behold what manner of love the father hath bestowed upon
us. How wonderful it is to know of the goodness and grace of
the Lord. This evening we spoke on the
threefold salvation of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
We've heard that the Father elected a people, that Son redeemed a
people, and the Holy Ghost is the one that regenerated a people,
His people. All that He does is show us goodness
and grace and mercy because of the merits of our prophet, our
priest, and our King. These are all three things. Do
we see that? All three of these spoken so far are three different
things. Our prophet, priest and King. Now abideth faith, hope
and charity. That's what he's given to his
people. That's the benefits. Of the grace of God and the mercy
of God, that is, his goodness is giving us faith and hope and
love towards him. So we say with Apostle Paul in
Romans chapter 11 verse 36 for of him. And through him into
him, that's three things also, isn't it? Of him and through
him into him are all things to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Father, thank you for this
salvation that you have wrought for your people. Thank you for
causing us to be the benefactors according to your promise in
your word. Would allow us to leave here resting in your finished
work, not looking to ourself. Allow us to look into Christ
for our salvation. In his name we pray, amen.
